I downloaded this app because it caught my interest. Though some interesting suggestions would be to have it to where the camera scans it and then plays the "video" even if not still directly pointed at it. Allowing to view around the entire White House. Also another cool idea would be to have a VR option
This app was a well conceived idea, and my kids really enjoyed it. That said, the execution makes it very frustrating in actual usage. Anything that causes the camera to lose focus or sight of the $1 bill causes the audio and animation to start over, with no way to ad advance through it more quickly. I don't know all that it has to offer because we grew quickly tired of hearing the same lines over and over again. I look forward to an seeing and update that will fix these issues and let us enjoy it more fully.
The focus on the camera is soo bad, then when I actually get the dollar bill, it is so hard to "Explore around the Dollar Bill" because if I or the bill move, then the camera looses the focus and I have to start over again, 5 stars if they could improve this and make this for the $5, $10, and $20
Loved the animation. Lots of little details to explore with something new when turning the bill around. Favorite part is seeing the Obama's taking pictures on the back lawn. Worked exceptionally well on my iPhone 7, even in poor lighting.
Love the concept. Hope to see it expand to include other denominations and the backs as well. There is so much history on our currency you could expand for quite a while before running out of ideas.
Coolest app I've seen in a while. The instructions clearly say point the camera to a dollar bill, yet there's all this feedback about a blurry image which is what you'll get if you don't point to a dollar bill.
This is so coolI wish they had this when I was younger. Y’all should have this for $5,$20,$10 ,$50 and $100, this will be interesting for all young folks. I truly enjoyed it
This app blew my mind I thought it would be fake and not work but it impressed me. Overall experience was awesome aside from the fact that there is nothing to do accept watch otherwise great app 10/10 👌🏻
Its a great app! I rate 5 stars! But could you maybe do different type of bills like the $2 bill, $5 bill, $10 bill and so on. It would make it much more interesting if you could!
I love saying to people "hey, you have a dollar on you? I want to show you something cool!" I always get a smile out of my audience. Wish this app had more features, however I do love it's simplicity.
Hard to hover above the dollar and hold the iPad at the same time. Would be better if once it scans the dollar it would keep playing without having to focus the camera on the dollar.
Fantastic idea! We need a v.2 to address video replay
As the title states, the idea is impressive and interactive, but it needs a tweak to fast forward the video in case you 'lose sight' of the dollar bill. Great job though!!!
I think it sounds cool but I just downloaded it and it won't let me on I tried to get on it 3 times but every time I would tap the start button it would kick me out of the app
I just got the app and it's not working the way that it's suppose to be as soon as I click the start button to view the money the camera keep getting blurry every time I open up the app it's not coming in clearer can you please fix the problem thanks
I love how innovative this app is, I hope they update it to add more features and different White House situations. Living in DC, this is a fun app to have.
This app was fun for about a minute, but then it was kind of over for me. You have to hold the dollar bill up the whole time! My hand got tired, and it doesn't leave off where you were when you moved the dollar bill.
Aim at a $1 bill? The indoctrination of a new generation into modern servitude to the Lords of Cash begins with this exploitative teaching device. How about you scrap the dollar bill idea and save us the battery power for something more useful... perhaps a US Constitution app with an animated and interactive journey for every Amendment?
This app is supposed to be teaching about our govt and the description itself doesn't even know what type of govt we have. We live in a republic, not a democracy. Huge difference.
Great concept but the app is hard to use. If you move off center slightly then the virtual simulation stops.. it would be better if it just scanned the dollar bill and then start playing the simulation without having to constantly scan it..
You put down an old wrinkly dollar bill, and then suddenly little bits pop up and start moving around, and suddenly there's a little white house! It's like magic! Mind. Blown! I only wished there was more to the little play it put on, or that it was interactive (I kept catching myself trying to touch it...(¯\_(ツ)_/¯), or if it worked on more bills, but as a first step, well done!
Awesome when at first the dollar turns into White House!! Cute design and great ideas I want buttons on the screen to choose seasons because it restarted when my phone move a little far away or when my dollar was wrinkled... Still so great :) waiting for more versions[?] it's worth to start a series of historys or gifs about these
This is a nice little app to get a tour. It works best if you put a dollar on a flat surface and aim the camera. Reach in and spin the bill around to see what's happening in other areas. It's cool when the helicopter swoops in, it snows, the cherry blossoms come out, and there is a surprise in the Oval Office!
I opened the app tapped start and nothing happened. I went to camera and aimed at $1 still nothing. Update, Make sure you are in well lighted area. It works
The White House's "1600" is a new way for kids and playful Americans of all ages to learn about what happens at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. All you need to do is tap "Start" and point your camera at George Washington (on the one dollar bill). Built through a collaboration with the White House Historical Association and Nexus Studios, the app’s aim is to educate and inspire the youngest Americans to learn more about the White House's role in our democracy. Our hope is that whether it is experienced on a teacher's desk or dining room table, kids walk away from "1600" with a better sense of the institution and its purpose. Not to mention, a smile. Tip: Move your phone around to explore from different angles, and touch the Oval Office to reveal a surprise.
