There have been many occasions where I will log the info from a serve or attempt only to find out later that the info wasn’t saved, therefore I have to resubmit the info when I’m no longer at the address thus giving me a negative mark on my metrics. There have also been several occasions where the app would crash and I would have to delete the app then re-download it and log back in in order to save the info of an attempt.
Unless you want to waste time and energy serving for half the rate you can get working for law firms directly, do not waste your time with this company. They will tell you how great a job you are doing and then after a short amount of time or at any point for absolutely no reason, they will send you an email and say you are no longer working for them and completely cut you off. I believe ABC legal to be a dishonest company, which uses automated process, to rule everything, rather than looking at information and getting the big picture with regards to process server success. I chose to work for ABC for a while, when I was slow as filler work, but I soon found out that unless I was willing to jump on my days off and drive 25 minutes out of my way to attempt a paper that I knew was a waste of time, as I’ve already been there two or three other attempts prior, that this company was going to harass me. They will regularly change pay on jobs after you agree to take them. There are many more things I can say, but the bottom line is, as a professional, you are better than this. Get your own clients, do not work for this company.
I used to get over 100 jobs a month from ABC and I was very efficient in my work, especially considering I had such a broad area that I operated in. There were numerous jobs that should have been non served that the system would automatically say I need to continue attempts on when I knew for a fact it was useless, and sometimes when I communicated that with the support team I would get the same answer: please attempt again to confirm XYZ. Very nerve wracking that you hire me to do my job, I do it well for nickels on the dollar, and you don’t trust my judgement with simple situations. Then after several months of that, with no email or message or anything to warn me, I woke up one day and all of my areas were gone. They had been given to other servers and I had been given no notice. They did the same things to my parents after my parents did work for them for about 2 years. So they have no loyalty or respect for the servers who work for them and I would recommend starting your own business and working directly with law firms. I’m making good money on my own doing way fewer jobs now than I did for ABC Legal.
My serve area is more than 50 miles from my home. A commute that I do not mind at all. As I love the drive. BUT when the app crashes left and right, their built in GPS is so far off. Most of the homes I serve don’t have addresses out front and so you rely on the GPS to get you where you need to be. Another thing is that you report that someone doesn’t live at an address and they want to you still attempt that address. OR tell you to talk to neighbors to get the address resolved. Some of the addresses that we get from individuals when we call them aren’t even on GPS and that thrilled every thing off. It’s such a mess. And we aren’t allowed to ask people for ID. We have to trust them if they say they are a person or aren’t that person. It’s so frustrating. I’m rather new to this whole thing but it’s not rocket science. I just wish the app was more reliable. They do tell you to delete and reinstall the app BUT then try to blame your phone. BUT when the same issues happen on three different phones and an IPad that tells me that it’s not the devices. It’s the APP. Their algorithm stinks.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled this app many times because my serves will disappear. Also, as a recent, besides having to do that continuously, my serves come down, and I tried to click on the serve from the screen, and they disappear, not allowing me to claim the serve it just disappears like it’s a ghost no one has a solution. My updates are up-to-date from my phone. I’m using the latest version. I have been to Apple and I’ve been to, my phone provider which is Verizon and no one has a solution it disappears, and it does not allow me to claim any serves from that option. I am only able to get serves that I’m guaranteed and be able to print those through my computer.
The customer service staff are incompetent in every possible way. Their incompetence caused so much confusion it made my job impossible. They made me serve people I had already served just to log more attempts even when I had served them. They sided with hostile customers who blatantly lied about my behavior when I served them. They changed the serve rate for jobs I accepted regularly. Then they randomly send me an email saying I was banned for life without giving a reason at all. They are a complete mess and if you take the leap anyways do not say you weren’t warned.
The app, after 4 years, continuous to still crash at critical times when serving. I’ve been attacked by dogs and in general hostile environment where ai can’t report anything because the app will crash. Worst part, it crashes at night too, where it will report that I served past the legal time if 10. PM. And when I get contacted about these orders of hostile environment and I reply back about the app, I receive NO response.
The app itself is fine. The company doesn’t know the process laws in all states. They have a monthly rating of your activities that are not fair nor accurate and their communication skills are horrific. I’ll not be judged by someone who doesn’t know the laws that is their business to know.
They expect you to show diligence on jobs and I have learned so much already. I really like the app and it’s features, especially routing jobs. So far, they have been super honest and helpful. I am very pleased!
I have used ABC Mobile for years now, and never had trouble with the app until the past few weeks. It’s so buggy. I can’t do anything on the app without it closing out and glitching and being very slow. It also deletes a lot of my pictures sometimes. Please please fix this issue and bring back the old ABC Mobile app before this version. Thank you!
Their support staff is great and would let you know what’s needed to fulfill due diligence… App issues are usually resolved that business day.. Pay per served document, can be a lil higher, yet you get paid within 24th…. which is good ..
I have done over 100 jobs sent by abclegal and most addresses are incorrect or the gps through the app takes you to the wrong place I have had to seek other gps options to get these jobs done.
They treat their "Independent Contractors" like Employees, dictating how, when, and how often to perform the services contracted. They overcharge customers and do not know the legal regulations and rules in the areas (nationwide) that they are providing services in. Do your diligence - Read reviews and firsthand experiences from both Customers and Independent Contractors who have been burned by this irresponsible company! The Proof is Everywhere!
Multiple error messages. When I reached out I was told another server had claimed that area. However, under “my area” if I click on those it would ask me to “release” the Zipcode. Sent a follow up and haven’t heard back. It would be great if there was some clarity on this. Given what’s reflected on the app contradicts what the person handling emails is stating.
I routinely run into an issue where the app won’t pull up my camera. Sometimes restarting the app works, others I have to soft reset my phone. Color coordinating the pins would be helpful. It does really help you stay organized though.
I just started working for ABC and the app consistently with every screen gives me a message saying “Internal Server Error” It doesn’t work well at all. I’ve dumped the app and reinstalled and was told to send screen shots of the error message to a link they gave me. And even the link was broke and would allow me to submit my issues.
The app has not been syncing properly since the latest update. Nor, do some of the addresses in the city not sync up with the actual address. And, now I can’t logon because the network is off again
Stay far away from this company. 0 stars is what they deserve. Their “support specialist” are no help and incompetent to say the least. The app fails to store information daily. This is a terrible company to work for.
I made over $300-700 in a day sometimes. At other times, it was less. However, nothing was really disappointing about the actual service portion of the job. The issue arises from support staff. Those folks call themselves getting bothered by small things. Example, the summons & complaint will mention your date to beat enable to serve a subject. The people in support are not legal like in anyway, so they interpret things to their best ability which still can be a problem.
In a nutshell, it costs you and your vehicle more to do the job than the job pays. These people expect you to attempt to serve every two days for at least a month, even if you report that the subject was blatantly evading. The subjects are renters who move like gypsy’s and the debts they’re trying to collect on are 2 or more years old. So once you discover the subject has moved over a year ago, they still want you to go and serve. “…and the ones that hasn’t moved, this is just a game for them.” They will, literally, sit in their windows or watch you through their ring cameras while you continue to ring, said, doorbell. Let’s not mention the beating your vehicle takes from trying to serve these people. The only reason I gave them 1 star is because the serves for businesses are the only hits. Everything else is a hit or a miss…emphasis on the “miss.” DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME ON THIS COMPANY. They don’t pay enough for the time, energy, gas, mileage and wear & tear on your transportation. They really include in their support presentation that you get paid more if you accept more jobs. (What they really mean is that if you accept …say 65 jobs..you increase your chances of getting paid for successful serves) The pay for the actual job does not increase at all. In addition to wearing out your car, in order to accept a job to a business that you know will be guaranteed pay, you have to have accepted a certain amount of jobs serving individuals (potential evaders) to qualify for that privilege. These people want you to visit homes where they have working “Ring” and “vivint” and other similar cameras that stream to their phones, only for then to watch you stand there looking crazy trying to serve them. Abc want you to keep going back every two days for at least a month. That’s not due diligence. Here’s the kicker: The 2-3 year old debts you’re serving on..the debt collectors notify the debtors that you’re coming. So they already know you’re coming so they know who to not respond to or come to theor door and look you in your face and tell you that person doesn’t live there anymore. They warn the evaders, in advance. They need a better system. SIDENOTE: Those 5 star reviews are probably from the banks or whoever filed a request for a process server.
I got off to a rough start, when I had a list of serves to complete & then came down with a horrible case of strep throat & I was incapacitated, unable to summons the energy to even send an email for a couple of days. Literally, for 2 days I was out of contact. I saw that the assignments had been removed & I emailed this guy to inform him of my illness & got no response. Didn’t think much of it, but started noticing I was unable to claim any more work. I kept getting an error message in the app. So I figured it was a glitch & decided to just give it some time & hopefully the developers would figure it out. A month or more goes by & I still can’t claim work, so I emailed tech support & the server help contact & got no response. Tried again after a couple weeks & got an unhelpful response telling me how to claim assignments in the app, which I had already said I’d been attempting & it wasn’t working. No response. Then I answered the follow up email asking if I was satisfied with the support I received & I answered that no, my issue wasn’t solved at all. Then I received an email from somebody who informed me that Jude had suspended my account when he couldn’t get ahold of me. This I could understand, but WHY NOT INFORM ME OF THAT??? Why ignore every one of my attempts at contact for MONTHS?? Anyway she told me to contact Jude, which I did, two or three more times with no answer. Really?? Why not just delete my account? It’s beyond unprofessional to act like a 5 year old giving the silent treatment!! I will be deleting this ridiculous app. Maybe Jude will see this review & potentially learn something from it, but I bet not.
This company is shady and unethical and totally criminal. As a process server with many years of professional experience I started serving for them as a way to supplement my income. At first it was good getting extra money serving for them but soon I discovered that all of the reviews about them being shady and unethical were absolutely true. First I made a drop-serve by refusal with identity confirmed by the servee’s wife. It was a perfectly legal refusal serve according to the rules of process in my state. ABC denied the serve, refused to pay and told me to go back and keep making attempts. I told them I would not because it was a hostile environment and I felt endangered and the subject’s identity was verified by his wife who refused subservice. They re-assigned and refused to pay me for the legal serve. Next I made an attempt at an address that was incomplete. The incomplete address was verified with the leasing office who also refused to disclose their resident’s personal information to verify if they were a still a current resident. I contacted customer support and told them it was a bad address. They said they would send it for review. It sat in my jobs for weeks showing overdue until I was contacted one day by a performance manager who desperately demanded I continue making attempts that day. I refused saying it was a verified bad address and gave them the contact number of the person in leasing I had made direct contact with who confirmed it was a bad address. They then threatened me saying if I refused to go back I would not be paid for my attempt and the job would be reassigned. I told them that as a Contract Employee I do not work for free and I would not drive 40 miles to make an attempt at a confirmed bad address that did not exist. They reassigned the job and I was again not paid for my attempt at a verified bad address. A few days later I was banned from ABC by e-mail saying I could not serve for them ever again and not to attempt to contact them asking as to why they made the decision to terminate my contract as they would not respond to it and told to never make contact with their employees again or attempt to sign up another account. This was not totally unexpected though after reading numerous reviews, complaints and talking with other process servers in the NAPPS forums. This is ABC’s standard M.O. Their payouts are a joke. They constantly change the payout amount from the amount contracted when you accept the job. Bait & Switch. They will see which servers they can bend and push to willingly do things for them for free and continue making attempts even after legal service of process has been made and then drop them. They are an unethical and illegal company even worse than their biggest competitor and I have the PROOF. DO NOT SERVE FOR THESE CROOKS YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!
