I’ve been using this app for years, but I just started having problems with it. When I click on it it opens, but immediately closes again. I deleted it and reinstalled it, then it did a software update date and tried the same thing again, to no avail. It just won’t work.
I take the bus frequently and use the app to time my walk to the bus stop, and figure out if I should take the next bus or the one after it. Only once in a very great while does it cause me to miss a bus. Sometimes I have to wait a bit longer, but I am impressed by how accurate it is with busses that have to deal with all kinds of passenger, traffic, and equipment issues.
Don't waste your time – install a multi-agency transit app instead
What do you expect from a transit agency that has been declining for decades? The app was slow and clunky to begin with, but as of the last update, it can't find any bus stops near me (there's one right at my doorstep), so it has stopped showing any bus schedules at all! The no bus stops problem recurred in January, 2022, and the only solution seems to be to uninstall and reinstall the app. I wish it were possible to uninstall AC Transit and the incompetents who work there.
BUT it takes FOREVER for favorites to load if they do at all. This app needs a feature that shows all buses within a specific radius (like .5miles for example) instead of needing to select specific bus stops, which is also helpful but not when I am debating between 2 buses.
Works ok sometimes but will often show extremely wrong times It’s common for it to show 1-3 minutes but then the bus doesn’t even move for another 15 This can even be dangerous, especially when waiting at night
It says you can buy tickets on the app. But you have to download another app just to purchase the tickets. Why do I need 2 apps? When you told me I could do everything in one?
The functionality of this app is so simple and yet it is always down or displaying incorrect information. Then there’s the experience. Clearly not a single person involved uses this system. The new issue today is, it refuses to load. Can one thing in this city work correctly?
Take a buggy app, power it with an inconsistent data stream, and you somehow make an unreliable transit system even more unreliable. You want to get people out of their cars? You want to avert climate disaster? This is not how you do that. Nobody uses AC Transit by choice.
I’ve been using this app for many years, recently have not been able to access it. Even tried reinstalling it. Would love to see this up and working again.
This app used to be great, much more accurate than google maps, but now it fails to display a single bus line? There’s just… no buses in Alameda County according to the app.
this app is constantly glitching. so many times the app will not load bus stops and no matter how often i restart the app or redo w load, the bus stops still will not show.
