My New Obsession!
Update: it’s now been almost a year since I first started playing these, and I am STILL just as obsessed. I’ve even played most of them over again. I am consistently impressed by the talent and effort that goes into such fun games!!!! ❤️ After discovering these games about a week and a half ago, I’m absolutely obsessed. I’ve played nearly all of them and was thrilled to find more single games available for download!!! The stories are captivating and unpredictable and the characters are loveable (I want Murphy and Kate to get together!!) The animation is stunning and every scene is visually fascinating with incredible attention to detail. Every new puzzle I open is thrilling and I never get bored of them. They’re all masterfully made! Often while playing I think of the hours that must have been dedicated to creating this game and WOW, it pays off and is evident. The literal ONLY thing that is frustrating is that you have to wait a certain period of time to get “keys” necessary to unlock levels. But unlike many games, it’s a reasonable amount of time, and you can watch some ads to speed it up! When I play casually, I never run out of keys. Only when I’ve been playing a TON of levels back to back have I run out quickly. The levels are long though, so it’s absolutely reasonable. And I suppose it forces me to take a break though :D anyways, just a stellar job all around. thank you, thank you to the teams behind this game!

Was a fan, STILL a fan aka pay your game designers)
Haiku games are some of the only escape games in the App Store worth playing. Compelling stories, user friendly, fun puzzles and interaction, and aesthetically pleasing. I’ve been a long time fan. Despite that, I’ve never left a review. I’m leaving a review now because I think it’s important to advocate for a product I enjoy, as well as contextualize this new game format. I know it’s received a lot of (I believe) unfair criticism. Normally I take issue with app models that require you to wait to play, but Haiku escape games are so high quality that I can’t really begrudge them. Most escape games in the App Store are depressingly low quality. Haiku games are the exception and take time, energy and skill to produce and we are lucky enough to play them FOR FREE. Most games like this would require payment upon purchase. Each chapter is long enough that I think that so long as the ads only play after COMPLETING the chapter I don’t think it’s unreasonable for the producers to use this model. This is a quality product that the game designers deserve to be compensated for. A potential solution might be a pricier in-app purchase that gives unlimited keys, or however many keys are needed to complete a story without needing to purchase more. That way users who take issue with the new format can buy out a story and play freely, but game producers are still compensated fairly.

Absolutely the best!!!
I have played many of these escape games only to get a few levels before you have to pay to play the whole game and the cost was always a ridiculous amount. This developer not only doesn’t charge to play but they don’t even have ads that pop up every time you complete a task. They have multiple scenarios to choose from and every one has a great story or plot. The only ads I’ve noticed is when you are out of stars to open next level, you can watch some ads to speed up timer that will give you the star quicker. I’ve already played 2 different scenarios and I’m hooked. On Some puzzles you have to really think outside the box and may take a while to solve. I haven’t found any flaws yet and don’t think I will. The developers have done an absolute STELLAR job with the app and I’m not sure why this game isn’t promoted more on other game ads. I know I can only give 5 stars but if I could, I would definitely give 10. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️+⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️! Keep up the great work and I would love to see more games from these developers.

A few constructive notes
I’ve been playing your games for many many years way before there were any keys or stuff like that. So it’s a little disappointing but I get it but now you have keys primarily because it kills the storyline and some of the older stories you had to remember things from past chapters in order to solve that chapters puzzle. But like I said I get it. Could you please make it so you can have more than two keys at a time even on other games like candy crush you get 4 “lives.” Also I have noticed that I am always able to connect to the Internet to buy stuff but not to watch the free videos to speed up time. It keeps saying no Internet connection. Also what’s the timer for refilling the ability to be able to speed up time for free. Mine never seems to refill. Idk if that’s a glitch. Other than that cool new stories, I really like the incorporation of star charts and translating symbols. And I would love to see more optimistic story endings/ or if they have a sad ending for them to say to be continued so there is some hope. I loved the scary story concept but the ending was frustrating. It needed that assertive optimism like in the cop stories. Also at the end it would be great to see what would have happened if you made the other choices with storyline structure and characters. Also I like the incorporation of instructions in the “?” Bubble. Keep it up!

The best.
I only like escape room games. And Adventure Escape mysteries encompasses everything I look for: the point and click, interesting story, amazing illustrations, mini games/puzzles, challenging enough. Though I have played and beat all of them, they have gotten a lot easier for me. My only complaint is that I wish they were longer and there needs to be way more games by this developer. I finished Psychic Squad last night and was very impressed (especially since the protagonist has my name lol). The story was very interesting. I was explaining the story to my boyfriend and he was intrigued. Even mentioned how it would make an interesting movie. They can be a little cheesy, but who doesn’t love cheese? Lol. I have been looking all over for other escape room games like this, and I have found a few decent ones, but AE definitely set the bar high. And it’s free! Just get it. You won’t be disappointed. Just make sure you download this one first because some of the stories in this one are available to download in the App Store.

Don’t waste your time!
I don’t normally write reviews even for games I cannot stand. I downloaded this game because of the reviews given. Why I say don’t waste your time… you are not given enough information to complete a task. The levels listed as beginner are still crazy hard to figure out without buying clues. You are left wondering what to do. Clicking on anything and everything to figure it out. Some things if you sit and think about it are easy, but most things until explained in a clue you are left dumb founded and stuck. You have to BUY the stars. You are only awarded stars when you complete a level or find a hidden one. But because too many times in a chapter you are left… what now you cannot continue. As a beginner you should have a few entry level games that gives you plenty of clues until you figure out how you, the developers are thinking. And can move on to less clues. Your explanations are pitiful. I would be satisfied with at least having to watch a video to get stars. You can do that with keys but not stars. And stars are what you need to get clues. You are forced to BUY THEM! The graphics are great, but not worth any money. Before you know it you will have spent 100 and nothing to show for it.

Exceptionally high quality
I’ve been playing adventure escape games for years and there is really nothing quite like them available in the App Store. The quality in the content and the graphics puts their games well above any mobile games I have played, and when I look for other games to fill the time between AE releases I am always disappointed. Even the model they used to introduce ads and the keys to unlock chapters was done very fairly. Almost every other mobile game I have played has near constant ads and AE does not. Also, I kind of like that the key system prevents me from playing through the whole game super quickly. I enjoy the games so much and they do take time to produce so I can appreciate slowing down and enjoying each one a little longer. I don’t usually write reviews but I feel like some of the other reviewers have been really unfair. Haiku puts out really good games, with very few ads, that can be played entirely for free. I’m not sure how anyone could ask for more.

Hidden gem
So I found this game via an ad from a puzzle game (I think it was one of those can’t quite remember) the game sparked my interest like actually sparked it, instead ugh seen this ad 1000 times guess I’ll try it out. To my surprise this game is a treasure trove I love puzzle games and it has a lot and the developers are adding as I type! The only con I see isn’t actually that bad and is something Idm. So first to get into any of the story’s you must watch an ad after the first one you began (assuming it’s not just for the first game you actually start) and you use keys to access the content. but unlike other game makers like big fish you can just watch it and get into it without paying for anything! not to mention if you run out of keys it’s just a 2 hour wait! Or 4 or more ads to get a free key 2 mins seems amazing don’t ya think! Other then that I can’t think of more to add if anything I suggest you try it. If it hits you like it did me then great enjoy! If not then you only wasted abit of time.

Excellent and Thank You.
The mini-game puzzles in these stories are the best I’ve played. For example, in “Dark Ruins” the swimming in underwater caves game, the blocking the alligators with a gate game, the creating a path through croc pit game, etc. are so fun to play because you have to try, fail, accumulate knowledge, try again, etc. so that when you do “win,” it is really satisfying and fun. Add to that - the mini-games are just plain pretty to look at (like the gems and casings mini-game in the “Pirate” mystery), cleverly fit into the overall story “plot” (rescuing kidnapped partner game in “Dark Ruins”), and often unique (dumb-waiter game in “Pirate” story). So, whoever is creating and designing these, if anyone ever rolls their eyes at you because you make games for a living, know this: I live in a “hotspot,” I take care of and worry about an 88 yr old parent in my home and I worry about a 19 yr old who went off to a college dorm. I worry almost all the time. But, I find I can take my mind off things for a while when I play these games. I truly need and appreciate that. So, kudos to you.

INCENTIVE TO DO MY SCHOOLWORK‼️
I speed through schoolwork and reward myself by playing Haiku games. I have been able to stick to my intermittent fasting because when playing Haiku games, I have no desire to take a break—just to eat⁉️ The puzzles ARE NOT easy. These are challenging games, and they are lengthy. MY ONLY ISSUE is the money-grabbing behavior of the app when one wants to skip a particularly brain busting puzzle. You will not be allowed to skip the puzzle; you are supposed to purchase stars, keys and the like. One might end up paying far more than the game is worth. Hey, Haiku📣 Lose the casino interface and just charge what you want for your wonderful work. The cheap-looking ads and stellar objects flying across the display take one’s mind off the actual game. People will still buy stars, keys and hints because people want a chance at winning, even if they have to pay for it. I noticed that Big Fish Games has raised its price for similar fare; they now charge $6.99 per game. If I want the game and I am willing to pay $6.99, then I will buy the game. I like playing both Haiku and Big Fish games, but on my terms.

Best Adventure Games/Puzzles (No hidden object)
Haiku makes the best adventure games with the most interesting puzzles. The time they take crafting the story, puzzles, and characters ensures that you are going to get a superior product without paying and minimal advertising. They are well above the major Adventure/Puzzle game makers in quality and originality. If you typically burn through games and are used to the every week releases “free to try, pay to unlock collectors edition” hidden object/puzzle games you might be surprised that a small independent game company has set the bar. Don’t be. Haiku doesn’t put out weekly games, the put out great games. Until next time Adventure Escape or Solve It, bravo! Can’t wait for the release of Haunted Hunt again. Long time fan. (Trapmaker, Allied Spies, Time Library) Note to developers: Please, color blind mode. Red/green cb affects many males. The neon light puzzles kill me. Neon green or yellow? purple or blue? You are not the only developers that have this issue, but you might be the only ones who would care enough to come up with a solution.

The BEST “escape room” styled games!
Haiku Games for the win! I have downloaded and played every game they have created (I'm still working on a couple). I have nothing bad to say... (as a personal preference, I wish there weren't timed puzzles, even if there are very few of them) but when it comes to those I have my gamer son take over. I don't do well with pressure. 😬 I have been playing these games for a couple years now. I get so excited every time a new game gets released. Can't beat the price, how well they are crafted and it's exciting to see different difficulty levels. Also will share a tiny secret, if you get beyond stuck... 1st revisit after a small break, if that doesn't work, try hints, if your out of stars ✨ (please do your best to support the creators and purchase more, if its a $ issue then try visiting ‘app unwrapper’ online. Thanku Haiku for your hard work, time and love you have shared to everyone through your games! PLEASE keep it up... We're all praying for more! 🙏 💕

A sincere but reluctant five stars
You see, I love the haiku mystery games. They’re worth my time and twist my brain so I don’t become dull. But with this one, I have one problem that I consistently find: the stars that help with gaining hints are hard to find. Don’t get me wrong, it keeps my eyes peeled so if I do need a hint, I can get it. However, unlike the keys that are supplied over time, they aren’t and have to be found little by little as the game goes on. And to add on to the worry of finding them, they are carried over from other mysteries in the game. This is where I falter on giving the game five stars. The hint stars are harder and harder to find and I have a hard time weighing the facts of buying the stars with money or just trying to figure out something that seems impossible for the next few hours, much less days. It could be operator error on my part as I may not catch on as fast as I’d want or something like that, but I think that it would be something to consider.

Worst ever. Ever!
My friend and I have been enjoying playing many of these games, especially the advanced level ones which we play together because of the difficulty. And then we got to Haunted Hunt. I have never played a more inane and absurd game in all my life, and that includes the games I played with my children when they were toddlers. At first, being able to switch between human and animal was interesting. It made sense, for example, that the attic space above the seance room was too small for me to fit in as a human. But then I was able to not only lift the metal gauntlets—made for a grown man—but also take them into the same tiny attic space and put them on my wings in order to scoop up the silver musket ball. As we played on, the puzzles got more and more random and nonsensical. Trying to figure out from the map the codes for the traps was absolutely incomprehensible madness. There was no skill involved, no way to figure out the meaning behind the acceptable answers. It’s hard to explain how bizarre it was! I did give it one star, however, because it was kind of fun to drink three glasses of wine and then dive into the insanity pool that this game is. And one more thing, where the heck was Joan??

Loving this game
Really it should be these games because it’s many games in one app. I’ve played the beginner modules and one of the intermediate modules so far and I’m having a lot of fun. I admit when I’m tired I’ve used a walkthrough to get me unstuck, but most of the time I know I just need to hunt a bit longer for the next clue. Some of the puzzles are easy and some more challenging within the same story so the difficulty varies which I like, they don’t just get harder and harder. The storylines have been fun. I like that I can watch ads to reduce the wait time on keys. Normally I’m very stingy with in-app purchases, but I really feel that the developers have made an awesome game and deserve compensation so I will be purchasing keys occasionally. I do wish the modules were either grouped by difficulty or had something to indicate at a glance beginner/intermediate/advanced without having to read the description for each one.

A much better alternative to aggressive monetization
I have played Haiku Games for years and I have loved every single one of their games. Every one of their games showcases how passionate the devs are about their craft and these games are so good I’m surprised they’re free. They could’ve have locked some of their games behind paywalls but instead they took a healthier approach to monetizing their games through this app. Yes you get ads before each new chapter you play but by buying the $5 starter pack you can get rid of them forever and you get extra keys and stars along with it. For me personally, $5 doesn’t seem like a lot when I also take into account that I’m supporting the amazing people that create these games. Haiku Games, you will always be famous because you create amazing puzzle games that really don’t compare to anything that’s currently on this App Store

Excellent story-based puzzle solving…essential UPDATE
Folks at Haiku games do this really well. Their point-and-click, story-based games complete with interesting characters and locales are simply the best. They don’t need another review to fortify their already stellar reputation in the genre but if I may say so - please continue with the same or even better till…I don’t know when because it appears to be an impossibility, to become tired of such games, that is. Only do keep the ads to this level and no more. Kudos, and good luck. Update: the latest release Sweet dreams has been a disappointment. I am hoping you will not follow the crowd in making such overtly gimmicky, sparkly, eye-catching yet uninspiring and forgettable plots and puzzles. Please go back to the drawing board and let your earlier efforts (before this leap to be on trend) be your guide to making the sort of games you are so appreciated for - games that have immersive stories with intriguing puzzles that leave a deeper, lasting impression. Thanks very much for hearing me out.

Awesome Escape games
I’m so glad I decided to play your Haiku Escape games, cause usually I like the more realistic style Escape games. But these are so rich with color, texture, story lines, dialogue, and especially game play that I have become hooked on this style of Escape games. I think the puzzles and challenges are very unique and thoughtful. I salute the person(s) that put the logic together for these games. They are geniuses. I can play these games for hours and not get bored or run out of puzzles and challenges because there is a continuous storyline, that keeps me interested and engaged. I like that there are different levels of difficulty too. But even at the “beginner’s” level the challenges are difficult enough to make you think (logically and “outside the box”). Which is what I think an “Escape” challenge should be all about. So keep them coming Haiku. You’re doing an Awesome job keeping someone as mentally picky as me challenged.

New Puzzle Lovers Game
I have played all of the Adventure Escape Mystery games and was appalled and exceedingly disturbed by the conversational content of the new Puzzle Lovers game. They have choices such as “Let’s get naked”, “I would have hooked up with all of them”, “Let’s get in bed together and see what happens”, and “I’m so horny.” It is overtly and explicitly sexual, completely unacceptable and unnecessary. This game is rated 12+ but my daughter plays these games, and I do not appreciate the fact that they have these phrases included. I would hope that this game would be updated to remove these grotesquely and obscene remarks. One thing I like about the other games are the subtler hints at romance while uncovering the mystery, not about “getting it on”. I enjoy the stories and the mysteries, with the exception of Puzzle Lovers, and the comments distract from the mysteries. They made me feel extremely uncomfortable. The sexual remarks are the worst thing I have ever seen in a children’s game and am completely abhorred. There are several other ways this game could incorporate romance and romantic phrases without being crass.

Gratuitous much?
During this unprecedented time in our global history when we’re all inside thanks to the Covid quarantine, my escape room partner and I have had to content ourselves with online escape/adventure games. We thought we had hit on a nice compilation with your series. We played many of them and found them clever albeit slightly average in difficulty, but all in all a nice way to consume some time. Then we landed on The Covenant and have mutually decided never to play another of your games again. Murdering animals, gratuitously and for no truly good reason, and in a way that defies explanation and good sense might be fine for some, but it’s not for us. Animals used as a source of food is one thing, but to watch an animal suffer and die a torturous death is something that should never be put in a wannabe fun and mindbending escape game. Of course, with The Covenant, you crossed so many lines of good taste that we hardly know where to start. But the murder of animals is sufficient. I advise you all, everyone on your team, to rethink your strategy and rethink your collective mindset toward murder, gore and gratuitous nonsense… especially when it comes to innocent creatures. Bye bye.

It’s actually really interesting
I’m really good at escape games & in all honesty my dream career would be investigative work in criminal activity. However, choosing to have a family was more important. That set aside, these games have to be immense to even keep me going. I’ve been “stuck” several times to say the least & I'm not certain if a couple of those moments were my fault or the lack of information given on the games end. So whichever way you look at it, this game is on a streak of not wanting me to uninstall it, that is for sure. I play & play until I figure it out, & trust me... that alone can make you want to lose it 😂😂. No, but really this game is infatuating at first and becomes almost too much to walk away from. ALSO, I’ve purchased one package for $5 that seemed worth it. Don’t just waste money on games unless you have money to waste. Great game. You won’t be disappointed. At. All.

Need more NOW!!!!!
I discovered these about a week ago and I've done ALL the AE Mysteries. These are seriously great games. Very thought-out and entertaining. Trapmaker is definitely my favorite, part 3 was the best!! I can't wait for more. Maybe a Carnival part 2 or more Trapmaker!! I can totally see Trapmaker having protégé! I liked the new one Covent but the ending was very abrupt. I finished disappointed and wanting more. I wish you guys didn't advertise Psychic Squad. I feel like we've been waiting forever for it. I've already played all the classic games so adding them to this app isn't a treat. I know you're a small company but waiting is hard. Update: had to take a star away because the rock in Lost Ruins:RoA no longer works. I haven’t played in about a week and when I last played it worked and now it doesn’t. I had to use my stars for a hint but I was doing it right. And since it doesn’t work it would take me forever to guess!

Love the mysteries and games however I have some concerns.
Each mystery is interesting and fun. It also encourages you to use your brain to solve the puzzles but I have one question about the VIP exclusives. How can I just get the VIP exclusive episodes? I already completed the Vanishing act and Sweet dreams for free by waiting for them to be officially released but the Homecoming and the Stardust episodes needs you to buy two separate vip bundles just to play those other two episodes. I also might suggest that you just need to complete one simple purchase that can cover all of the VIP charges for as long as you have the app. Also a restore purchases option that allows the player to restore all purchases they made before uninstalling this app. Thank you for listening to my feedback and hope to see more episodes in the future.

Literally the best games ever
I have on-and-off played these games for years. They are truly some of the best puzzle/ mystery games. The story plots to the puzzles are amazing. You only get two keys per a certain amount of time but the puzzles sometimes are extremely challenging to the point where I have to come back and try again. I don’t really mind the two keys because of this, as It takes me a wile yo get through some chapters. If you aren’t a patient person who actually seeks a mindful challenge I wouldn’t bother. It is so clear that the developers and creators care about quality, the graphics are really good and there aren’t any ads that ruin the actual gameplay. I always look forward to the new games they create. Absolutely wonderful collection of games and I will keep playing as long as they continue to create!

Puzzles are kind of irritating
Given that this is a puzzle/escape type game I expect it to be difficult but, I also expect it to make sense. Why would a candy foil replace a microchip? Why would I use some random letter A I found to unscrew the top on the emergency exit button when I have a pair of pliers? How would I know that the victim had a secret Fanny Pack in their pants? Like I get the point is to use everything the game gives you no matter how trivial it is even if it’s weird but, it’s like you’re forcing me to use hints to solve the puzzles, the mini games for the tutorial are so mundane and difficult you just want to skip them to get on with the story. You use almost all your stars just starting to play the game so you’re forced to figure it out after that. The key mechanics remind me of the game Episode and I absolutely abhor that method of finessing money out of your customers. It’s like you have a good game premise but you implemented all the things people can’t stand about other mobile games.

Give! Me! More!
I love AE Mysteries games! I have not been disappointed with any of them. The puzzles and story telling are deserving of a 5 star rating! After completing the latest release I check periodically to see if a new one is coming out. I’ve played and beaten them all and a few I’ve played more than once! Outstanding game! Please don’t stop making these! My only recommendation is to have stories with more chapters and harder puzzles. The latest Detective Kate Gray story only had 6 chapters, plus the bonus if you bought the early release package. So I was bummed I was able to complete it so quickly. But if y’all will continue to release new stories and puzzles I will continue to play! I never grow tired of this app and I can’t say that about almost very game app I’ve ever downloaded. Keep it up! Give! Me! More!

Would rather pay upfront
I’m currently playing Trapmaker, and, so far, the gameplay is great. I’ve always been surprised that your games are free, and I certainly have no problem with you charging for such quality work. However, I would much rather have the option to pay to download, and forgo the keys altogether. Also, if you’re making it a paid app with the keys, there shouldn’t be ads. When I pay to download games, they’re ad-free. Maybe offer a lite version, with keys or limited play, for people to check out the quality, with option to unlock full version? I know I prefer to a) know how much a game is going to cost me upfront, b) have uninterrupted gameplay. And the constant sign-up pop-ups are super annoying. In this age of constant security breaches and spamming, I am very judicious with who I give my information. It’s good to have a sign-up option, but not with a constant pop-up. Great work on another great game!

Amazing Game!
I’ve been playing this game for years now! I know people don’t like the format now, but I think it’s smart and reasonable, especially for the newer games! You have two keys and get a free one ever couple of hours, but you aren’t left unsatisfied. Each chapter is long enough to leave you comfortable with the place you left off and not feeling compelled to buy more to play it. Then again every chapter and game is so good! The storylines are amazing and you get so deep into it that you forget you’re even playing a game! It’s so good, I’ve never played every story like 3 times. Every time is just as good as the first! If you want to replay a story, you don’t even need a key and they save the hints you used from the previous time you played so you don’t have to spend more stars! Overall 15/10 great game!

I Love Haiku games!
Haiku games are the best escape games I’ve found and they are free! I’ve played every game so far, and always anticipate the next one. The stories are great, the puzzles are challenging but not unsolvable and the clues are always there (unlike some escape games with puzzles that seem to have no solution but to use a hint or google search). Yes, the new key system makes you wait or pay, but the wait is worth it and the Haiku team deserves payment for their hard work! Besides, the keys return before I need them because I don’t like to rush through the game. That’s another reason I love Haiku games so much; they have substance and length instead of a hurried story and easy puzzles that are over in a couple of hours. Don’t listen to the haters! Play these games and pay these people if you can, they deserve it! Keep up the good work Haiku team! You rock!

My all time favorite developers!!
I am eagerly awaiting for this new vip bundle to come out with the new game. I’ve been playing for a few years now. I’ve played them all at least twice lol. It’s completely free and just so fun. I just came here to see if the new game was out yet and decided to leave a review bc of how obsessed I am. Haiku also has a series called solve it that’s not on this page. You should definitely check those out too. I can’t imagine anyone playing this and not liking it if you like escape type games with pretty great stories. I’m a sucker for any detective game and escape games and this combines them but there are multiple different types. I can’t recommend these games enough. I hope if you are on the fence you decide to just give it a shot bc they are so fun!!

I love it but VIP…
So, I love this and I have finished every single thing except for one, plus replayed all of them. My only issue is the VIP. I was under the impression that VIP is one and done and you have full access permanent VIP. But I go to play Sweet Dreams after purchasing VIP for Vanishing Act and I have to buy again. I get it, money, but it just seems greedy and annoying. Not to mention, it’s $8.99 USD every time. I would love to purchase permanent vip, but every single time is too pricy. I hope you take this into account and consider making a permanent VIP. To add to my review, I just wanted to mention that in Trapmaker 1 there is a glitch where I can’t pick up the symbol card. This has happened to lots of people and it’s really annoying. I’ve completed trapmaker many times but most of the time it takes forever to progress because I can’t pick up the symbol card.

Absolutely stunning games!
So I don’t review often at all, but this app DESERVES it! These games are so amazing. It’s a great way to get your mind to think outside the box and figure out complex puzzles in a more relaxing way. There’s so much mystery too; the story lines really keep you holding on for the next chapter. They allow a “key” (what allows you to open the next chapter) every 3 hours. Some may think this is way too far and in between, but I completely disagree. You get lots of ads to watch to cut down the wait time per day. I suggest watching ads to cut the time down to an hour and then just wait by doing something else until your key arrives. I’ve been able to complete a whole game a day so far and I’m absolutely hooked! Detective Kate is the BEST! Developers, you guys are the BEES KNEES! Great job making these wonderful indie games. There is so much talent in your team, and these games bring lots of joy to my day! You got a fan for life! Please keep the games comin’! I also would like to praise your team’s choice in advertisement; I was playing a different game on my phone and a really cool, colorful ad for Legend of the Sacred Stones popped up. I was instantly hooked and downloaded it. Great job to all again.

Great Gameplay, Keys Take Too Long
I really enjoy this style of game, and AE Mysteries is probably the best venue for this type I’ve played. Interesting storytelling, good graphics, varied levels of experience... however, I have one major issue and that involves the key system. You need a key to unlock each chapter and it takes 3 hours to generate a new one. Furthermore, the game caps you at 2 keys unless purchased. I feel like this should be updated. I would likely purchase a whole version where keys are not necessary, or I would suggest either removing (or upping) the limit of keys one can hold without purchase, or making the regeneration period significantly less - 45 min- an hour. Admittedly, I’m not privy to how app makers earn money on free apps (barring in-app purchases) so maybe this isn’t feasible? Just wish I could play more than two chapters after not playing for 24 hours or often longer!

An amazing developer!
I have been a big fan of Haiku’s individual games but I really think this app is an amazing idea. I genuinely don’t understand how anyone could think this company is money hungry. There is like one other developer that make adventure escape/mystery games that are even close to as good as this one and those aren’t free. You get two passes every few hours for free and if you want to pay for more than that you can. It’s nice being able to have hints carry over from any game you play. The story visuals are amazing, the puzzles ACTUALLY MAKE SENSE and there’s quite a few stories on here with more being added as they can. I love that you don’t have to buy it up front cause I’ve done that once or twice with other apps in the same genre and hated them. I cannot give this app or the developer enough praise.

THIS APP IS THE BEST FOR THIS GENRE OF GAMES
This App is AWESOME!!!! Most detective games I’ve played have energy usage and every time you do an action you spend some of your energy. Which makes it impossible to complete any stories without spending huge amounts of money. This game has great quality story, beautiful art, and it is genuinely engaging. You don’t have to wait super long for the keys and you even have ads to get rid of a huge chunk of the time that you can keep watching to get two keys so you can unlock and play many stories. This is the best app for this genre of games. You don’t have to spend any money to play many stories and there is no energy based action. If you hate energy based action as much as I do but like this genre of games then I highly suggest this app. YOU WILL LOVE IT!!!!!

Best mobile game creators EVER!!!!
Wow! Haiku games has done it again I have been waiting months for a new game and once again they didn’t disappoint. I love that all thought this is a new game it wasn’t too hard as far as levels . The story line was sooo good . Levels and puzzles so much fun I believe I’m on the last level and I’m so sad because who knows when another game will come but it was so worth it . Haiku games are the only ones I will play as far as escape games or really any mobile game . I want to thank the creators because they truly have a gift . No one compares to the company . Keep the games coming . I have played them all and finished mirror man in 3 days and probably could have finished sooner if I didn’t have to work . I love you guys Muah 💕💕❤️❤️❤️😎😎😎🙃😀😀😀😀😀😀

Love the Haiku games!
I’ve never left a review before, but I’ve been hooked on Haiku games for the last month and here’s why: 1. The games are well designed, with good stories. The story arc is the biggest pull for me - it feels like you’re working towards and end goal. For anyone who has played games on PC like Nancy Drew or something, this is a mobile version of them. 2. It’s free! Some other games depend on “energy” that dwindles quickly, and you can only get 10 minutes of playtime. The key system has gotten some flack but I think it makes sense and still allows you to play a full chapter per key! And it only takes 3 hrs to load a new one - if anything this has really helped me not sit down and binge play. I did also buy one of the sets of keys from the in app purchase - these games are made well enough that i feel like it’s worth buying the keys to allow for a longer playing experience. 3. It’s a consistent experience across their games. I like the structure of the games: a tutorial, chapters, the puzzles - it’s different enough to stay interesting, but i like the consistency of actions & length of games. Overall, a set of games that’s worth playing! My faves are still the detective ones - keep them coming!

Mostly Great
I have really enjoyed the game for the most part. It is just difficult enough where I cannot figure things out too quickly yet if I put forth effort I can complete the challenges/puzzles. I don’t mind if I get to a point where I need more clues and have to purchase more stars because i can decide if I want to do that or not? However I noticed on chapter 8 of Paradise Mystery, there are a series of pieces of paper that you have to put together to figure out a combination to a safe or something. My problem is I used stars I purchased for a clue, which is fine however the clue is incorrect. It says the order(mailbox table bedroom) one way but I used an additional 20 stars based on that wrong info. The actual order was table bedroom mailbox. Not happy and just felt like it was a trick to make me purchase more stars.

Fun game! But still has some bugs
This is a very fun game, but I have recently been noticing some bugs. I have played almost all the different stories and now I’m on the story Covenant. The mini games are having some problems and because of this I can’t get past chapter 2. In chapter 2 there is a mini game where you have to move around pipe parts to make the water flow. If you mess up or want to redo the mini game there’s a redo button... but that doesn’t work... when I press it nothing happens. Since I couldn’t figure out this mini game I decided to spend 30 stars on skipping the puzzle. Once I spent my stars, it didn’t skip the puzzle and first wanted me to pay 30 more stars to skip, so I got distracted and left the game. I came back a day later to see if anything has changed and it did it said skip for 0 stars I keep clicking it but nothing happens. I’ve noticed this with a few other mini games as well.

Great game!
The puzzles are very enjoyable and have different levels of difficulty for whatever you feel most comfortable with. I recently played TrapMaker 1 and struggled on a puzzle (failing a few times) so the puzzle became easier which I thought was neat. It let you have a few tries and then eases up for you so you can pass. I also love that you can find hint sparkles throughout and they transfer over to different stories in the app. Easy interface as well. You can purchase keys to unlock chapters but to be honest I can do a puzzle in my spare time then I have something to do that let’s the reset time pass anyway. When you watch an add to reduce the time it goes to the next timer too which is awesome. Great game and I highly recommend!

Great game
I love mystery games & puzzles! Not a fan of hidden object games, so this is great! I’ve played all of them & I’m enjoying the new format as well ! I like that I have to wait if I don’t pay. I solve things pretty quickly & Then I don’t spend hours playing when I should be doing other things. Gives me something to look forward to. In the past I’ve deleted games because it took so much of my time; not because it was so difficult, but because I was being irresponsible with the time I was spending playing it. This gives me a balance which I appreciate. Love the themes in this as well. So many others are so dark in nature. These always have positive elements in them & are not occult driven like most other game creators. I know A LOT of people that play from this creator for that reason!

Nothing Else Compares
I’ve tried many, many other “point and click”/Escape Room games. Nothing else compares. Unlike other games, it does seem like most of the puzzles are common sense or can at least be figured out within a hint or two. And the great part is that, since most of the games are made by the same designers, you can build on your knowledge of other similar puzzles without it being redundant. It’s funny because it’s actually helped me in real life, as we came across a puzzle in an escape room board game and I was already familiar with the concept of the puzzle - I don’t think we would have been able to figure it out on our own otherwise! I absolutely loved the Sacred Stones. The Detective Kate series has grown on me, too.

You won’t regret downloading this
I’ve played all the Haiku games for years and absolutely love them. They are so much better than any other escape/mystery puzzle games I have played. The mini puzzles require a variety of skills and observations, the characters are realistic, and the storylines are engaging and complex enough to be fun. The ads aren’t terribly invasive, either, which is nice. I decided to purchase some extra stars just to send some money to the development team because they deserve it, but the in-game stars are plentiful enough to cover the nearly-impossible puzzles you might need to skip. If I could, I would rate them higher than five stars, I have gotten so much enjoyment out of the games. They are even surprisingly replayable!

This game has it all..I’ve played a couple stories, just finished Mirror Man & had to leave a review, which I never do for apps but this one is amazing. It’s like watching a really good movie & being a part of it too! You get attached to characters & on the edge of your seat action…I just love it! You guys really did an amazing job with these stories..I cannot stop playing…seriously I have housework & stuff to do & I’m behind because I just can’t stop playing lol. I don’t need to purchase hints or anything but you guys need to be compensated for this definitely so I’ll buy some anyway haha…btw if anyone is reading this & you like scary movies then play Mirror Man! So far I’ve played 3 stories & im about to start another…thank you for a great app!

Games are always great but......
Usually love these games but they changed the app format. Now you have to use keys to unlock levels which means I only really play 2 levels every few days. Each key takes 2.5 hours to regenerate which splits up the story line and is super annoying if you’re good at these games and play quickly like me. Also asking for registration all the time is really annoying. I’ve also noticed that certain actions don’t unlock the way they’re supposed to. I completed all the steps for a stage and now the one action (using an item on something) I need to continue won’t work. No matter how many ways I try to use the item on he object it doesn’t work and now I’m stuck with no way of continuing on the game short of completely restarting and taking three days to get to the exact same place. Usually LOVE haiku games but this new app format is horrible. Change it back!!

It’s alright
I don’t like the fact that yeah there’s a bunch of different games to choose from, but you have to unlock “chapters” with no other way then waiting for keys. And not like you’ll keep accumulating them, oh no. It’s like 2 hours for 1? And you get a max of 2. That’s entertaining for all of 5 minutes. The puzzles are hard yes, but being stuck with this stupid kraken at the end of the pirate game, impossible. There is absolutely no kind of skill test to this. They literally put these tentacles sporadically and randomly whenever they want apparently. Can’t reset it if you think you messed up. Nope. Been playing against these stupid things for an hour now getting no where. Waste of time if the other games are gonna be like that too. I get it’s a puzzle game. But at least make it so you’re not playing the same thing going no where for over an hour. Not even worth it if you ask me between waiting to unlock chapters and apparently impossible tasks. Deleting this game. Thanks for wasting my time.

I have become addicted
I don’t write reviews but I just have to say these serious of escape took style puzzles and games with a captivating story behind it is one of the best games I’ve ever got on my iPad/ iPhone. Please keep up the good work, I like how it is set up to where you can do all the puzzles and stories eventually if you have patience but if you want you can pay a bit to continue and the prices aren’t crazy and you get lost in the stories so it makes you want to continue right there in the moment! I think games that are good deserve compensation, as someone put their time and creativity into it and as such should be rewarded but the fact that it can still be free is a real gift. Thank you for what you do!

Y’all hiring??
This game is so amazing that I wish I could say I was a part of the team that made it. I have played every single adventure escape game this developer has made and they never fail to impress me. The mystery aspect keeps me engaged and excited, while the room escape type challenges make the game fun and a great way to pass time. I especially love all the stories about Detective Kate. I have played many of The Room games and while this is similar, I honestly think this is better. It has all the fun puzzle aspects, but also has a more engaging and high stakes story lines. As a writer and an avid mystery reader, this game combines so many of my favorite things. I cannot stop playing and I cannot wait until the next games are released. These games are incredible and I hope to see more soon.

Expensive to play
I agree with Laurie Ann from 1 yr ago. I was rolling along, playing the game, trying to learn how the developers think so I could unlock the puzzles. After 1 or 2, I figured it out. I am not far into the game and I am totally stuck. She was right - if you want a hint, you have to pay for a star to open hints. Right now I need 10 stars just for one hint and it will likely take more than the one hint just for this one puzzle. The developer tells you they offer hints, but don’t be misled. It takes alot more than what you are given. They do not offer stars for watching an ad, the only thing left to do is pay money and more money and more to buy the stars! How many times am I going to need to buy stars? I don’t mind paying $6 or $7 in total, the price of many good games, but I am not willing to spend $25, 30, 40, who knows how much. Not when I have groceries to buy.
