This app used to work great for me. Now it tells me every time I login that my phone isn’t a trusted device (which I’ve always used to access my account) and then when it finally lets me in, I just get a blank white screen. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, same thing happened. Had to go online to make my payment. One star for not being able to use this app in any capacity at all. Thanks AES
I was told that I had a forbearance (due to COVID) for a certain amount of time, so I wasn’t paying my monthly bill. It wasn’t until my credit score dropped 120 points from 740 to 620 that I found out I missed 90+ days worth of payments for 4 school loans. I was never told that my payments were due again. Now I can’t refinance my home loan to a lower rate because of my credit score. A phone call or email would have been nice! Also, I should not even owe school loans because of my time in the military, but AES doesn’t (or didn’t at the time) employee a single person that can help military personnel or veterans with the government-guaranteed payments written in their contract. AES seems to enjoy making maximum profit from their customers by ignoring their ethical obligations to help us.
I used to occasionally pop open the app to manage my loans, but nowadays I have to use the website even to view basic loan info, because it’s unusable. I open the app, login, and even get past the 2FA system fine, but then on both iPhone and iPad I’m presented with a blank white screen. Tapping on it or doing any kind of gesture doesn’t do anything to fix the problem. I deleted the app and tried again, same thing keeps happening. I think I’m just going to leave the app off of my devices, and use the website for all of my loan stuff instead, due to the app obviously not having much attention put into it by the development team over the month I’ve had this issue.
The AES app has been “under routine maintenance” fur quite some time or so I was lead to believe ever time I tried to log in. Turns out the app required an update but that was not denoted anywhere!!! This can and should be handled better in the future. Being an individual who has never been delinquent with a payment until this app issue tells you the outcome of poor communication with an issue like this. I expect this would still be identified as my mistake for not checking to see if an update is required and so be it but really if the app is higher quality then app updates are not something I should be needing to track. Oh well. . . Thank you
This is probably one of the most user friendly apps available, I wish some things were accessible through app instead of going to the full website. Otherwise- app is great for monitoring and taking care of business!
Whenever the company switched over to new contractors, I’ve had nothing but but issues logging on and using the app. For some reason, it repeatedly doesn’t recognize my device even after contacting customer support to have everything reset. I’ve also had repeated issues with logging in to a blank white screen. The app used to be my method of submitting payment, but current changes to the app have made that process pointless. Whatever the new contractors did to expand security, they’ve made the app useless.
This app has never worked for me. I have an iPhone 7 with plenty of space and do all the rest of my banking with my phone. This one keeps giving an error message when I install and try to login saying “mobile app is not accessible due to the status of your account” and then advises that I call customer service. Just called customer service. There’s no problem with the status of my account. The tech support person had zero suggestions except that something must be wrong with my phone. I uninstalled and reinstalled 3x. Hard to believe there’s no other fix than I must have a busted phone.
I used to use this app all the time to check my messages and make my loan payment each month. However, since I got an iPhone 13, I have been unable to access the aes app. Every time I login or use face ID, I get a blank/white screen. Nothing ever loads. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Nothing has worked. I emailed customer support multiple times and spent almost 30 minutes on the phone and the best that they could do is read from a scripted troubleshooting document and tell me to use an Internet browser instead, which kind of defeats the purpose of downloading the app!
I have been paying this loan for what seems like 30 years. I have more than paid the original loan amount three times over. The current bill signed by President Biden should have my loan payment on hold until the opportunity for loan forgiveness is complete. I have paid on time for the majority of the last three yr even though out the pandemic period when I lost my job. Give me a break with the threats to submit to collections and tarnish my credit record.
As soon as you pass the due date, this software demands the next payment as well as the current payment. Then you need to write down the payment amount and enter it because the software no longer separates the current payment and the next payment. Meanwhile, the software informs you that the minimum amount due across all of the loans will not be met. It offers no information on which loan or loans aren’t having the minimum met and no information on by how much this amount has not been met. Is it a penny or $500?
Although I love this app but most of the times this app is down and cannot be used in the go and I always have to use a computer to access the website to make a payment on my account that kills the whole purpose of having it.
This app is so simple to the point. You know exactly where to find everything and there’s zero confusion about which account you’re paying or paying out of. I would definitely recommend it to anyone with an AES account.
I would have given this a 5 star but as of this month every time I log in nothing shows up but a blank screen. I have to log in through the web because the app no longer works.
I can never log in using the app without verifying ss#, last name, and DOB. And my face recognition doesn't work either. Need a reminder notification on app to set when payments at due or pass due other than mail or email.
The improvements that have been made make this app very user friendly. Unlike some apps I am able to do everything on here as if using/viewing through a web browser. Very easy to view/pay or find information you need.
Paying a different amount could be easier to access instead of going try steps to just apply te different amount one may want or can pay. Other than that great ap, tank you!
When I try to access my account, it is asking me for my social or my account number to verify my information. I can put either one with no dashes exactly like it says, and it won’t recognize me. It says that I have no account. I’ve deleted the app. I’ve put the app back on still does the same thing. I don’t know what to do to get help. Maybe somebody can contact me because this is extremely frustrating and useless at that.
After approximately 17yrs of ups and downs, I finally got the monster of school loans off my back. Albeit a ton of lessons about money and finances, I pray I enter new stages of life more aware and more equipped.
Maybe that will get the software developers’ attention. I’ve read review after review stating that this app only opens to a blank screen recently. I’ve had the same experience in the last couple of months. Deleting and reinstalling does nothing to fix the issue. This is unfortunate because I’ve had this app for years without any problems. What are you people doing?? Don’t you pay any attention to customer feedback??
I don’t know what happened. The app worked fine for all the years that I had it. However, ever since I upgraded to a new iPhone 2 months ago, the app won’t work. Every time I log in, I get a white screen and nothing. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Tried logging in manually instead if using Face ID. Nothing helps. Which is unfortunate since the app was working perfectly fine until 2 months ago
I can’t access my full payment history. I can’t select which account my payment goes to. I can’t specify how much of my payment goes to the principle or interest. Face ID worked but now it does not. Zero stars for AES as a company, 1980’s era policies for defunding education, and a loan I have paid almost 20 thousand dollars towards over twenty years yet still owe more than the original loan amount.

I haven’t been able to log into the website since installing this app. I’ve been reading the reviews and there is no way this app generated a 4.8 out of 5 stars, and I downloaded the app because of the great reviews. Almost every rating is 1 or 2 stars and states users cannot access their information just as I can’t. If it worked, it would be used constantly and greatly appreciated, and I would change my current rating.
This app was great for two minutes and after the new update the app doesn't recognize my device and if I do successfully log in it is just a blank screen. It's upsetting because it would be an amazing app to have for viewing and processing loan payments but it literally does not work- and I've seen numerous people have the same issue with no resolution.
One of the easiest payment apps ever. While other payment apps are convoluted, tricky and designed to rip you off this one leaves no room for doubt, confusion or trickery.
I’ve had this app for 7 years and have enjoyed seeing the continued improvements since then. It breaks down payment information along with loan information and gives you a very informative overview.
I get that students will need a loan to help pay for education and that it’s vital. Avoid this service and utilize a local credit union as you’ll get better features and lower interest rates. Autopay has never worked, signing in never works on iOS, you can’t edit or remove bank accounts once you’ve added them, and the app is just insanely clunky. Do your research!
Every time I try to login the FaceID doesn’t work and I have to retype my password and explicitly clicked on save password. Then I sometimes I have to answer authentication question and or more info. Overall the login is just the main issue but once I’m in it’s a breeze.
This app is simple to use. I miss the Touch ID but Face ID works great. Only issue is that with the no Touch ID phones, apps really haven’t updated when having to touch a smart part of the phone. Otherwise works great
I like the app. It’s very convenient. And I can pay my loan quickly and whenever it is convenient for me. So far I have had no issues and will continue to use the app.
Regardless if I preform an account device reset, delete the app and reinstall it, or delete app data, the app never successfully logs in via “auto-fill” and I am forced to input my information manually. As that allows me to successfully login, I am greeted to a blank white screen, no way around it, the app is now a reversed flashlight, and nothing else of use.
This app never remembers my password… Or facial recognition. I'm forced to reset my password every time I login to pay my bill it's a minor inconvenience… But still an convenience
FaceID never works anymore and when editing the payment amount it is buggy and I need to manually move the cursor to the left over to the whole dollar side of the decimal otherwise it stays at $0.00 These things seem pretty standard for iOS apps so the devs seem like they are rookies.
For some reason my Password doesn’t show up in the field when I open my Ap. Touch the Face ID as I used to, tI checks fine but won’t open. Then I have to manually put in my password, which then takes me to another page asking me for more personal info….what the heck? If someone wants to hack into my account and pay my bill let them!!
I have had this app and it never works!!!! It always says “ We’re Sorry…. An unexpected error has occurred. Please try your request again later or come back later.” It doesn’t seem like later will ever come. You would think with how much interest they charge they could at least have a decent app!!! Loan sharks of the student loan industry for sure!!!!
I have facial recognition set up for sign in, and for the past few weeks it will not work, I get a message that ‘something went wrong’. Cannot find anywhere in app to reset it. A little annoying.
The app biometric sign on does not work and hasn’t for some time. When attempting to use biometrics to sign in on the app, an error occurs, which forces you to enter your credentials locally. Otherwise the app seems smooth.
Face ID doesn’t work and neither does putting in user and password the old fashioned way on this app. It keeps saying that it’s wrong even though signing in through the website it’s not problem. The app only works sometimes and that’s a VERY loose term. Don’t even bother with the app. It’s a waste of time. Just do everything on the website.
I used to use the app all the time, but since the last update it has been totally useless. Once you hit the login button, a white screen appears and the rest of the app never loads. Seeing several reviews mentioning this problem, it seem strange the issue hasn’t been resolved yet.
