Excellent App!! Easy to use!! Very convinient
Well designed app! Was able to scan my boarding pass very quickly using the app and get the trip added on to My trips. The flight status was helpful. So was the live updates in the dynamic island. The check in ui could be better.

In need seriously improvement.
Frankly speaking I’m baffled given this is an India APP. India apparently from various articles I historically read, have some of the world’s best APP developers/APP support/software developers and tech supporters yet the APP at best is simply average... it’s ordinary, hard to navigate. Passengers should be able to upgrade online easily, it’s currently challenging. You receive a confirmation number... then later an email titled KYC reject explaining why the APP rejected your purchased upgrade!? Additionally we should be able to change the frequent flyer program online on the APP. Currently the APP notes to call center for assistance. I called, I emailed and no one seems to be able to assist. Their only solution which is unacceptable is to change the frequent flyer program upon luggage check in at the airport. However how does the airline upgrade by status if one cannot enter the proper star alliance frequent flyer number? My flying returns is a new account, less than a year. You would never know by looking at my profile if I am global service, silver and/or gold status.

New TATA management same old air India
If you are reading this before getting your ticket then I am glad I have caught you. I sort of bought into new management and thought of giving airindia try. Don’t - I have done this for you on the international and domestic and it is the same old dilapidated air craft with the same old services that one normally doesn’t associate with tatas. For example twice I have had to come to Chennai airport where airindia has taken me to new terminal 4. What’s wrong with that you may say? How about being waiting to be bused from the parked plane to the terminal or no amenities in the arrival section or Uber or prepaid can only be accessed by either a buggy ride or a walk of about a km and the final stretch through puddles and I can go on. Do yourself a favor - look elsewhere.

Specific seat was bought with booking but Checkin is throwing in middle of plane
Now this is happening all over again. Flight from Chicago to Delhi on 10th is showing cancelled only for us. But is accepting new booking. Reason, Air India has changed planes and the seating arrangement is different. So the front seats that we paid for are now premium economy. Conveniently, Air India has cancelled flight only for us. Can you think of any other large airline that has systems that simply cannot migrate seating if plane changes? Now we are in a 2-3 hour waste of time to talk to air India staff that has no clue how to handle the problem. Booked US flight through app and paid extra for specific seats. Today on web Checkin, instead of showing Pre booked front row seat it throwing me in middle of the flight. Have tried chat in app, but it keeps getting form filled, makes me wait for agent and then asks to convert it to ticket that will be answered in 24 hours. Unfortunately, I do not have 24 hours. Call centre IVR keeps going in circles and disco texts in choosing web check-in. We travel Air India despite poor seats, no entertainment. But this is a new low, where AI charged extra for front row seats and is not allowing it in web check-in.

Very bad service at Ahmedabad airport
On March 19, I traveled from Air India AI638. Baggage check in and Security check in was completed perfectly. After that I was entering to the flight. Some employees of Ahmedabad airport of Air India behaved bad with me. My bag was accidentally slept from my hand they scold me that it is overweight. It wasn’t. The person who do baggage check in he checked everything. Still the people who are outside they don’t have weight machine, their job is not to check weight and still interfering without any reason. They gave me threatening to take the bag. They touched and open my bag without asking. They took photo of my boarding pass. I don’t feel safe about my personal information . Very bad service and very disappointed. I will never travel by air india and never come at ahmedabad airport. Recommended to not travel from this airport.

Top on the list of Worst airline of the world
From jfk to Delhi to Baroda 1/7/20 AI 102 Hopeless service Toilets without toiletries Stewards congregate and talk for most of the flight time in back of the plane Lunch and dinner Serv like feeding prisoners No entertainment chennles are working in my row of 34 of 3 seats and divert attention of stewards but no end result. Dianner trey are Brocken and I am trying to submit pictures what I took No three pin plugs on plane even though this long distance flight . Only USB connection and that was not working. Connecting flight from Delhi to Baroda. Nice clean and well mannered friendly staff. B4 is my seat. But next seat occupied by some government office having identification card ( external him affairs) something like that in his neck trying to bully on staff trying to show his power. I wish This airline is going to shutdown ASAP Promise myself not to travel A I ever in my life for safety reason. Service I don’t care too much . We are responsible for this as a R I and NRI bcs we put lot of burden on this airline and demanding unnecessary services . Also make this international flight like a flight for Senior citizens thinking our parents can’t handle other airlines .

What on earth are you guys thinking!
Too may issues to report but here are a few to get you going … Why on earth must you use such a faint font in your app? Have you ever talked to a user to get their perspective? Tata has owners AI and it’s website & app for way too long to blame the Indian gov! Your app works like a website, why on earth?! It actually asked me if I needed more time, while I was in the middle of adding personal info to our existing booking? Never have I ever seen soch a brain dead piece of excuse for an app! The whole idea of an app is to provide a local, non website like experience with seamless Data integration! Why? After I went thru the painful exercise of entering personal info for my family; the app simply reported ‘something went wrong’ and purged all the data I had entered, just like a poorly designed website! Are you guys out if your minds? Who has authorised you to publish such a terrible piece of nonsense as an app on the Apple Store? Apple Store team, if you are reading this, don’t you do any diligence on the usability and basic design on an app? How can you allow such 1960 mainframe style experience on your platform?

Do you actually give miles to Scattered family buys?
The Air India frequent flyer ‘Maharaja’ member program offers the benefit of earning miles/ points that we can redeem against our next airline ticket purchase. A good app to get the advantage of miles if they are honest in terms of miles, points & fine print after we’re confirmed & then active Maharaja members, perhaps. Grievance is that you don’t allow Indian citizens, Indian p/p holders with a Green card NRI’s to form ‘Mera Parivar’ My Family Pool online & we are ‘quite Scattered & not a Gathered Family’ because of that. Challenges & Apps needed for creating the account from iPhone are -Photos stitch app for first & last p/p page like ‘Tailor app’ or something else. -Small KB upload file allowed. Overcome this by ‘WhatsApp’/ SMS send file to local number & then save your ‘Compressed file’. -Attest any document by ‘Adobe fill & sign’ app. or any other pdf creator & editor app. Kids are very excited with their Air India Maharaja Travel Membership Cards. Look forward to Happy journeys & safe travels too! 💕

Transistions
As a man who worked in Product industry, I dont think all these images and transitions are necessary. Mostly when people travel they have low battery sometimes less to no data. These transitions waste a lot of time loading the app and it uses more battery. Just make a simple app which can get business done. I dont think airlines industry needs to showcase what india as a country has to offer in terms of location. You can create an external repository to see information about the location but this loading time is unnecessary. Try to improve the performance of the app dont hide them behind images and transitions.

Not up to mark!
This needs a lot of work. First of all, the integration to the Flying returns is not there at all, which is very basic necessity. Don’t the guys designing the site (perhaps at NIC?) see how any other international airlines site is designed and presented? The flight status is not updated at all! My wife traveled from DEL-SFO on Oct 7th by 173 and the flight was delayed by 5hrs departing Delhi and yet the site never showed the latest information! How dumb can this be? Secondly, how difficult is it to integrate the flight tracking with any popular sites like Flight Radar or any other? Come on guys... any international passenger visiting the site is laughing at you!!! Grow up!!! Wake up!!!

Keep declining credit card for booking a flight
Not only is it the worst site to make a booking but keep declining the credit cards. When I called my credit card companies to ask what was going on, they said they never got a request for charges and they didn’t decline and don’t see any flag that would prompt declining. They said it must be Air India site glitch. Needless to say I can’t make reservations online. I guess I am forced to take another airline. They wasted one hour of my time and lose me as a customer for now and for ever. Bad management…no wonder they are perceived to be one of the worst worst airlines.

App needs more fine tuning
Please note the App needs feature to update the Profile of Passenger by the Passenger itself and not travel agent. Introduce a new field for travel agent and their phone number in addition to the passenger email I’d and phone number. There should be a way to upgrade the Class from Economy to First / Business, it shows at present contact at Counter or you need to pay 5 Rs or 10 Rs for an call but that too doesn’t work.

Cannot check-in on the app
2 years in a row now, I have not been able to check-in on the app from JFK to DEL nor on the way back despite the reminder received via text message and through the app. You go through the process of entering all your information and confirm your seat and it goes nowhere. Last year coming back from DEL to JFK, I had a confirmed selected seat but the app would not let me check-in and due to the long lines at the counters (passengers for all Air India flights to the US and some domestic, all in the same line !!! ) by the time I got to the counter, they gave my seat to someone else.

No clear instructions on booking a flight in COVID situation. Price are too high
This organization is trying to cash out this COVID situation. We know that Air India is in losses. But this is not the way to get into track by collecting extra money and limit the service and no. Of seats. Why don’t the Indian Government just tie up with other airlines and help the ones who are in real need. There are no clear instructions on how to book a flight. This site is really old and the application is worst. Atleast, why don’t you guys update your site/ app. Just comare your site and app with other airlines. If you want to be the best and get out of financial crisis attract customers with best service. For instance, I really don’t know what is the difference when you select flexible dates and fixed dates. The results shown are same. Again the user has to go back and check if he is a Robo and finally see the same screen “All tickets are sold out”.

Loved the initial UI and presentation. However, many countless links are broken. Flight booking to checkin - I have to remember or manually enter my PNR ! Why is it not seem less ? YOU already have that in your cache. Flight changes are stored and keeps prompting you even after the confirmation is done. Why keep confusing the user. Frequent flyer additions and upgrades don’t work. I got an email saying time to checkin. When I go to checkin - it says check in in 13 hrs later. I knew that anyway. PLEASE PAY attention to 360 improvements. Just because you add more planes or give good food does not = better airline or service. An irritated passenger boarding a flight might stay irritated throughout. Service improvement is a 360 degree affair . You need to improve all aspects.

At least travelers information should be stored and it should come up automatically and we should select the person traveling from the family at that time. Beware Bangladeshi Travellers
If you are Bangladeshi than avoid this airline. After 5 days got back missing luggage. Luggage outside rapping changed by someone else when I received. Inside gold, laptop, cosmetics, every valuable goods are missing. Airport magistrates to government all levels officers didn’t shown interest to take case when they heard it’s air India. Against Indian airlines you officially they couldn’t take action. Even their customer care will not help you. They picked up call one time after your dial 50 times. So be careful if you are Bangladeshi.

Very glitchy
From the opening page this is a poorly designed APP. Looking at the home page, there is NO obvious button for BOOKING A FLIGHT! If you can get a booking window to appear, but run your cursor down over other menu options to get to the booking window, all the junk you don’t want opens and the booking window disappears. Too much unseeded junk on the opening page. No consistent place to note errors If the page is not complete. Just plain clunky

Complete disappointment
If you try to book a flight on thus app from US->any location it shows the amount in dollars and the credit cards work fine but you can’t do the other way around India->US since the amount only appears in INR and the international credit card company (Discover) rejects this transaction because the currency is not in dollars. None of my cards worked to reserve a return ticket. I had to work with a 3rd party for that. What an awful app. PLEASE ALLOW USERS TO CHOOSE CURRENCY TYPE AND LOCATION. It’s a no brainer ugh.

It is quite bad and not user friendly. I tried enrolment for Flying Returns and after doing everything it did not provide the userid so still can’t use it after 24 hours. On complaining Air India replies to re enroll after 48 hours. Ridiculous. Hope someone corrects this .

I like the design a lot
It is well laid out, easy to use and otherwise intuitive. However the “days to check in” field doesn’t update and it’s not that easy to find out where the frequent flyer miles are and if they are being credited. Overall: Good front end but still needs some back end work, which shouldn’t be too hard to fix

Worst service & bookings
Very bad app, after booking ticket don’t know whether it really booked ticket or went something wrong and mentioned customer care numbers wont work, if any way it works no one is going to pick call. Dont know how they r running this airline without giving proper service to customers and that to on the name of our proud country. Air india should be shame of this kind of service. Hope in future they take all these reviews and correct it.

Worst app for an airline
Having been member of the Maharaja Club a few years ago, I discontinued flying AI due very poor customer service and absence of airline enabling booking on Star Alliance, though AI has been a member of the Star Alliance for long. For example, if one wants to travel from Mumbai to Dallas FW, then AI will make bookings only on AI route and one can’t travel onwards using AI app. Booking process is also unfriendly and very poorly designed. This is sad given that india is a SW Develpment hub and is recognised all over the world as such.

Simply awful on Check in service
When Airport authority is not accepting the Online Check in Boarding pass for International travelers why this app is issuing useless Boarding passes. This has caused lot of inconvenience and faced unnecessary struggle in my International travel at Delhi Airport. Great policies.
Booked air india flight from Cochin to Newark in Sept 2021 only because i am an Indian. Had to cancel the flight due to tested positive for covid. 50% penalty for that. Then they said i can use the remaining for future travel before june 2022. No refund… anyway, came to US on a cheaper flight. In April 2022, Called them to book flight from Newark to Cochin using remaining credit. Couldnt use the credit since the flight is not FROM Cochin to Newark… also, 3 representatives disconnected the call while i was talking..

Horrendous service . Expected way too high
This is my first ever experience on Air India . It’s been the worst so far . I have been trying to call the toll free number to get an upgrade from economy to business class and I couldn’t get thru anyone . Thank his I just made a one way fare . I don’t think I would ever recommend or even travel on this airlines. I was expecting a warm and wonderful experience becoz this airline is a home based airline . I’m still holding on to speak to someone for an upgrade ! Wow the irony

Overall Improvement
The staff is very good but the aircraft is pathetic. The TVs do not work and the seats in business class do not recline very often. The bathrooms are always clogged. Even if the TVs work the choice of entertainment are below par. When you call AirIndia, the customer service folks never seem to know anything. If you are a Frequent Flyer and would like to redeems point for travel they never seem to have the flights you want. Being the national airline it is shameful Hopefully Privatization will help

Worst app
It rarely works, you can’t checkin when you need you can’t opt for excess baggage, it a racquet to get you to pay more at the counter. The inky thing it lets you do w ease is pick your food. You aren’t able to upgrade in the app, you have to wait for them to email you an offer but if you don’t click it soon enough it’s gone. Honestly, I’ve never had so much trouble w an airline app

Air India’s app has improved by leaps and bounds. From functionality per se they are still tad bit behind compared to United Airlines but I am sure they will catch up super quickly. Go Air India!

Worst Customer Service and not customer friendly app
It’s the worst app I have experienced so far. Even start up companies app would be much better than this. Worst customer service as customer representatives do not have any knowledge of rules/fares. Different customer representative says different things. Also phone quality is not sure. Worst worst worst!!! Not even a single star.

Worst customer service
It has been 3 days that i am trying to get in touch with customer representative to confirm the changes they have brought to my flight itinerary but each time they say they are busy with other customer and the waiting time is 10 minutes but after an hour waiting online still no one answer the call and at last you have to disconnect

Unnecessary redesign to the ticket booking flow.
Whoever proposed & approved the ticket booking interface redesign should be let go. Why would anyone get rid of the option to enter a specific end date and instead ask for start date and “trip duration”? An unnecessary change that breaks the one thing this app needs to get right. Great way to screw up what was otherwise a great app.

Horrible Customer Service System
It’s painful to get in touch with AirIndia. Its AI system is pathetic and shouldn’t have been deployed until it’s fully trained. I will try not to fly with AirIndia if I have a choice. I thought TATA’s would make this a good airline but I guess the bottom line is that it is cutting corners. No matter how many new planes it buys, it will remain a lousy airline if it continues on this path.

Air India has all these IT people working to develop a good and simple App and this is the best “App” you can come up with? Wth.... I can’t sign in and or sign up for the account cause it keeps giving me errors.. I have yet to get confirmation texts...but i do get the emails... I’ve tried 3 times and nothing. The “App” is way to clustered and needs better layout. Fix it ASAP...

Mishandled Baggage
Recent flight from Eugene to Bodhgaya with a party of 6. 13 pieces of checked baggage only 6 arrived in Dehli with us. Of the 7 others 6 arrived in Bodhgaya 3 days later and one is being held in customs and due to traveling we have not been able to retrieve in Dehli. We will have pay storage fees to retrieve bag. This level of customer service is un acceptable. I would like to receive a response from you. I a very unhappy customer.

Very bad I am embarrassed
I would never fly again in Air India. I’m ashamed of their quality of clean list, and the staff is very rude, their televisions don’t work, when they change the route they don’t have a courtesy to let the passengers know that flight is going to different route than expected. I would strongly suggest any of my friends not to go in Air India. Every other airlines that I flew is tons better than Air India.

Poor implementation of app
3 April 2023 1) I can download the apple wallet card but it doesn’t have date of travel. Airport authorities need it. 2) The app on iPhone looks funny. The icon on right too for home or to close the screen is not clickable. One has to exit the app and load again. 3) why do I have to call for email for the Boeing card? Why can’t I add it to apple wallet directly? 4) why don’t I get upgrade option through the app using miles? 5) I tried to send feedback directly from website, I chose existing customer. I also received OTP. But then it said I’m not an existing customer. Why?

The UI and UX of this app is ghastly. It’s incredible the developers were okay with publishing this.
A very short list of issues with this app that make it unusable at times: - you cannot have commas in your address, so you cannot enter it correctly - you cannot change your seat online - adding bags/bag weight online rarely works - you need to enter your booking reference when you go to check in *from the booking page* - you cannot see the seat map The app is shockingly bad. A single developer working on their own could make something better than this.
