The old app worked great, this new app I have trouble logging in also it takes forever to load. Can’t login with finger print. I called the bank IT they said it was my phone that was causing the problem.

Okay but needs a little work

I’ve been using the app for years and it is overall very useful. However, there is one bug I’d like fixed. It appears that much of the functionality is part of a web app. If the app times out it leaves the user at a web based sign on page. This is not the initial app login page that supports Face ID. If you use Face ID to get into the app, check your balances, then start using some other app the Alerus app times out. When you open it again, you are on the web sign in page, no Face ID available. You must actually close the app (flip it off the screen) and reopen to get to the Face ID screen. Very annoying. Please have the app reset to the initial sign on screen when it exits or times out!

Terrible Internet and Mobile Banking

Constant processing errors when logging in. The interface is pretty much unusable. Everything is overlapping and is a pain to look at and navigate. Only good for checking your balance IF you can get that to pop up and show your current balance. And the transaction history is all over the place. Sorry to say, but honestly, they need to replace whoever is working on these systems and get some people who know how to run apps and websites. Absolutely awful user experience I have experienced in ANY app.

Frustrating

This app is not any better. My small town, two locations bank app is better. App is always crashing, or saying I can’t log in. There’s no showing me what my balance was after each transaction which would be an amazing feature. There’s times where I spend money and it’s taken out of my account but there’s nothing in my transaction history. Frustrated with this new app, but love the bank and the people who work for it!

One Fix Needed….

App is great, but one fix is needed for an issue that has been around for awhile now — when the app automatically logs a user out it doesn’t give them the option to log back in with Face ID; it brings users to a website-ish, manual login page. Temporary fix is to force close the app and reopen.

Fancy - but good luck if you want something simple

The number one thing I want with a banking app is to see my check register: my deposits, debits AND my running balance. It should be on the first screen! But, no, you must go through a maze of tabs and pull-downs and half the time I still give up before finding it. I am seriously considering changing banks because of this. The only thing holding me back is having to change all those direct payments and deposits.

App is okay when it works but..

Keeping it simple, out of the several months I have kept this app (so I can try to log in), I was successful only ONE time. The app is basic but works well enough to let you see your balances. It’s amazing that in this day and age in 2022 an app can be so incredibly shotty for such a company serving such an important need.

Worst App I have to deal with

To access my account, I have to delete and reinstall the app each time. Facial recognition does not always work, and I had two checks rejected using the deposit function. As you can see from the overall score, this is a very poor app and Alerus does nothing to improve it.

Whatever the update was yesterday broke the app. I can no longer sign in either by typing or with touch. Typing enters no characters. Touch crashes the app... Was ok prior to that, login was always super slow compared to other apps.

Slow and crashes a lot

The new version of the app is horrible. It takes forever for it to load and I usually have to do the deposits more than once because it either freezes or crashes.

Frustrating

I don’t have Alerus where I live right now, so I loved the mobile deposit feature. However with the new app, it keeps crashing. I’ve only been able to successfully submit a check once in the numerous times I’ve tried.

Miss the old one

I am frustrated with app. The pending transactions take forever to show up, before we saw all of them right away. Several login issues, not as many features as before and hard to find what features are available.

Frustrating is right!

Tried multiple times to deposit a check pictures and endorsement meet requirements but it gives an error...close your branches and then have an app that doesn’t work = frustrated customer

Works about half of the time.

Right now, I can’t even get into the app. This is so frustrating it’s unbelievable. When it does work, it’s okay. A bit slow, but decent. Please fix the app so that I can get past the sign-in page.

Can’t even sign in

Whenever I try to sign in I get this: PreSignUp failed with error Converting circular structure to JSON --> starting at object with constructor 'ClientRequest' | property 'socket' -> object with constructor 'TLSSocket' --- property '_httpMessage' closes the circle. I don’t know what to do and I’m getting really mad.

Does not save new version to phone

Every time I open this mobile app it says it needs an update. I hit update, then open & it loads. This happens every time I load. Only app that has ever done this. I have iphone 11. Please fix this!

Alerus Mobile App

The mobile app only works as a mobile app if I restart the iPhone. Every time I open the app it wants me to log in I’m required to login as online banking Face ID doesn’t work.

Mostly non functional

Frequently cannot load & times out & makes it difficult to log back on. Pls fix this app.

This app is so slow and frustrating. Has few features that other banking apps offfer. For a bank this profitable they could do more for customers.

Garbage

Couldn’t access my account through the web so decided to try the app. This does not work either. Alerus is complete garbage.

App crashing

No matter what I try the app keeps crashing as soon as I open it. I’ve tried restarting my phone. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app. No luck.

Worst app on my phone……. I can never trust or rely on it for accuracy. Thinking about leaving Alerus entirely as I need to have consistent app access and this is just not it.

Worst banking app I’ve used

I know what online banking platform they are using and it is a great platform. However, whatever customizations and add-on products they have added to this make it horrible. The balances display incorrect, you cannot use a password keeper to populate your username and password - it always clears the username. The PFM tool would be great if it was not the first thing you see. Yes managing your accounts from one spot is nice, but it also gives Alerus access to all that information also. Bring the app back to its basics and they would have a fine product, instead they just have a junk product we all have to suffer through.

Can’t log in with the exact same username and password that works on the website. Don’t even bother with this.

Upset

I was so happy to have this app when I first got my bank account through Alerus Financial. But for the last year about, it has not worked for me. I called a couple times to get it fixed, they said they fixed it but they hadn’t. Every time I try to login it says it is an invalid username etc… But it is my correct username and password. I had them change it for me even, and still did not work. Really wish it still did.
