The last update has made this app not able to deposit checks. On my end since the update the app can no longer read the checks and after reviewing and taking multiple pics will not work. Please fix this issue as I still get the same style check as before and now having issues reading them. I have gone through all the steps that the customer service rep asked me to do and still same issue including deleting the app and reinstall.
I'm sure there are features that could be added to improve this app (like make a comment describing what $ transferred is for) but it's pretty great. It's so easy to use that I have only gone to the bank twice in the last year. I can deposit checks without the trip in mere minutes, and transfer $ to friends (who are also members) and family members and housemates to pay for our share of the dinner, gifts, and bills. I think this app is great.
I never had anything issues using this App. I get updates about service interruptions well in advance. Easy to upload checks and I get Fruad alerts very fast but I’ve never had Fruad it’s always me doing the purchases but it nice knowing that this App is on top of everything going on.
I really love this app, but lately, it’s been difficult to get the thumbprint login to work. I’ll open the app, try the thumbprint login, and it won’t work. Then the thumbprint option will disappear completely. And it won’t reappear until I close the app and wait a good 10-15 min. Then I’ll reopen the app, try the thumbprint login again, and it’ll work just fine. Is this happening to anyone else? It’s really frustrating. If this is indeed a bug, I would request that it be fixed ASAP. Thanks! :)
I was born and raised in Santa Cruz. My father worked for the City. He started us with bank accounts in our early teens. Bay Federal has never let me down. You will see them volunteering at events like Capitola Art and wine. They are local people from Santa Cruz participating in our town events. You can’t do everything you can do on the website, but the necessities work. Photo deposit of Checks is slow, esp with the constant questions, but they always seem to go through.
This app is terrible. It constantly crashes and has errors where it cannot display your accounts. Not to mention it is unable to stay up to date on current balances, so you think you have more or less money than you actually do. The bank it’s self holds withdrawals so they can charge an overdraft or charge an overdraft for a few dollars in the account, but are unable to keep their ATMS in working order

The app is really easy to use and understand! I can look at my balance at a glance, I can transfer money between my accounts with ease. The best part I can receive money from other members of Bay Federal with transfers at no charge!
This afternoon I spent half an hour at the Capitola branch setting up a remote payment process. Many thanks to Endi and Drew for going out of their way to make my experience pleasant and for explaining each step of the process. Two great Bay Federal employees!

Thanks to this app I have been able to view every transaction made! This app has made everything so much easier with preventing frauds, and easy to transfer money to someone else’s account!! Super happy!!
This bank is the best bank of my 66 years alive. My only complaint is that it’s not very Venmo compatible. Would like for their wire transfers to be instant rather than 3 business days. Other than that I’m in love
I love bay feds app cuz I’m In touch with all my Transactions with the press of my thumb! So easy! I get such satisfaction paying my credit card as I use it, no fees or late charges. Couldn’t be more satisfied!!!
Very difficult financial institution to make a deposit
I have tried to deposit a check from my insurance 3 times. Bay Fed has refused the deposit for 3 different reasons. Each time the check was not returned forcing me to get a replacement check from the insurance company then having it co-signed again only to have Bay Fed refuse it for yet another reason that I was unaware of.
I make sure to check my bank every time i want to buy something to make sure I’m not over spending the other day I had 33 dolors in my bank after buying some shoes the next day it says my moneys back so I had believed that my order was canceled so I started spending my money today I checked and I’m at a negative number
I used to be very happy with this app but something happened (update?) and I can no longer deposit checks. This was one of the best features of the app. Who wants to have to come to the bank to deposit checks? Very unhappy.
good but a lot of restrictions if it’s a student account
it shows the amount you have yes it shows what you spent on something yes but with the student account you have to call them to see if they can let me to make a mobile deposit. i hope they know that no one not even a teen wants to go in every time they get a check.
Mobile check deposit doesn’t work in iOS 16. The app gets stuck before I can take a photo. It says to rotate device but doesn’t recognize rotation. Please fix asap.
I find it really stupid how the app makes me call my phone or text me to verify it’s me after I have logged into my account. Sadly I cannot give this app zero stars.
