bello: Design a healthy life

Body % varies quite a bit more than expected. Changes by 0.5% within minutes. Close enough though. Does not sync with Apple health

I work out and play a lot of sports. I weigh well within the 'overweight' limit, but my doctor diagnosed me with high visceral fat levels in my belly. I got this visceral fat analyzer because I wanted to check the fat levels more than once a year. I've been using it to measure my levels everyday, and use the diet recos from the app. Surprisingly, diet recos and some fasting really did work when measureed with Bello. Looking to incorporate this into my health routine. Great to be able to have the ability to measure visceral fat which is only accurately measurable by MRI or CT

All my life, no matter how much weight I lose I always had belly fat that would never get flat. For this reason, I did not want to get a scale that measures body fat (since I already have a scale that I like) so I was searching for something that is for more for the focused area. Some of the reviews I read mentions the app not working properly. However, I saw somewhere they updated the app so I decided to go for it. Downloading the app and synching it with the Bello device was really easy! ( I am not so great with the electronics) So far, Bello is helping me to see if my daily excercise I’ve been doing for over a year is making any progress, and it is a great tool to monitor it. This was actually what I needed. If you have similar concerns when it comes to belly fat, this will help you keep track of progress.

I’ve got a device shipping to me, and downloaded the app in preparation. The sign in gave me no issues at all. I’ll update the review once I receive the device and have a chance to use it. Update: I’ve been using Bello daily now for about a week. Each time the Bluetooth pairs within moments. It’s given me a consistent reading each time, with a +/- 0.1 variation. Instructions on using it are clear, and it takes less than a minute from beginning to end.

I’ve always been into fitness and health from a physical point of view, but never really into the science or diet portion of it. I like to eat what I eat and I remain active. But out of curiosity, I got Bello to see where I am from a “science” and health perspective. Here are my thoughts: - Aesthetics: Looks cool - sort of looks like something Apple would make. - Portability: Lightweight and fits in my backpack - Ease of Use : App download/sync process with Bello scanner was fast and intuitive The reading it gave me was a bit disappointing (not on the product - but on my own results) as I thought I was healthier where I am. People who buy this shouldn’t look at this as diet tool/app, but more so of a health tool to help you measure your health.

This product is super easy to use, compact and portable. With the accurate measurement of the body fat rate, I'm now able to keep track of it, and it helps me guide myself to better diet. Sure it's not fun to look at how much fat you have in you, but it sort of gave me a wake up call and got me to act for my better health. I highly recommend it!

I kinda knew I was fat, but yowzers! The app and device are fun, if you really like measuring things which I do. I don't much care for eating well or exercising, I can get into measuring how fat I am. It seems accurate, and close to what I've seen with a calipers. The workouts and recipes are great, and the app is useful for that even if you don't use the sensor to measure. One thing though, Bello is connected to Apple Health but it can't read food data. I prefer to use a different calorie tracker which writes to Health and it'd be great if Bello could read that so I didn't have to manually type calories data into the app.

I was super excited to finally receive Bello but I should’ve reviewed the app as well. Without the app there’s no Point on having the Device. The app does not let me go past step 2. network error pops up as well as other network issues. (followed all the recommendations to fix the issue... nothing) Reading all the reviews It seems to me that it’s a common issue. This device (Bello $300) is too expensive to deal with issues like this. Will be returning Bello :(

-Just purchased the pretty expensive bello 2 -downloaded the bello app from app store on 4.20 -created account and confirmed my email -goes to sign in and hit with “records don’t match our system” -trys to re create a new account with totally different email but by then the app is completely unresponsive - I can click anywhere on the interface and it will show a loading circle for about 1/4 second and nothing happens

I downloaded this app in anticipation of receiving a Bello device this year. I don’t know who designed their app but it kept timing out when trying to sign up. And when I finally got to sign up screen I could not make it through as the keyboard blocks the “next button” on the height screen and you can proceed no further. Please update your app! I would be willing to change my review if I can ever actually sign up and test the features.

Bello’s best features are the food and activity recommendations. They are all simple and easy follow. It motivates you so that you can track daily/weekly/monthly progress. It’s a great solution that replaces visits to the doctor’s office or gym to get your MHI measured.

It is really exiting to see how eating well and getting regular exercise pays off! Once you get the hang of it it is easy to use.

With the new update, I am unable to log in. I enter a known correct user name and password, then the app does NOTHING. The screen acts as though I didn’t enter anything and just stays idle. It does the exact same thing on the “forgot your password” screen. I cannot use the app and the scanner does not work independently of the app, so until they fix this app, my scanner is worthless. EPIC FAIL.

Received the device and downloaded the App. Device paired quickly and has worked without an issues

When I connect bello device to the app from time to time the app is crashing. I have to open the app 2-3 times before I could use it without the app to crash

Does not sync weight with health. UI for entering calories is very cumbersome. Main view resets a lot... My impression is they lost a lead developer and can't find a suitable replacement.

Latest update fixed any issue that I had.

Tried to register my Bello on the iOS app. The app doesn’t respond on any drop-down menu and cannot proceed with finishing the registration. Sent email to ask for help but didn’t get any response; not even an automatic email. Going to return this product disappointed.

Device is quickly paired with app by following simple directions. After scanning, your result shows within 10 seconds. User friendly interface will make easier to manage your progress. Fun and easy to use !

Cool idea but upon multiple attempts I have not been able to set up your app because it gives me an error when I’m on the second setup screen. I’ve tried contacting your tech support but no one responds so I’m reduced to giving you a bad review to try and get your attention.

This app pulls data from Apple health but is unable to update Apple health. Otherwise it works great. But frankly the Apple health integration is odd. It pulls data but does not update Apple health. So this means Apple health does not get any fat percentage results from this app

I can not set the birth year. The app will not accept the birth year nor will it cancel out of that screen to go back to the original screen. Please help!!

It seems that the hyped Bello device doesn’t actually do much (if anything)... If you switch the personal waist measurements in the app, the numbers change dramatically... I went from normal to severely overweight back to normal within 5 minutes by just playing with the number I input...

After entering my height, weight and waist size, I get an error saying “Network error. Please check WiFi or network data status.” My WiFi is working totally fine though. I uninstalled the app and installed it again but had the same problem.

Seems like a great gadget until you realize the app is unpredictable. Worked a few times then suddenly got stuck on step 5. No longer provides a readout. I am returning this product.

I updated the app and now it won’t open. All previous data in the app appears to be erased. Developer, please fix.

The app shows very basic info not even a chart of data recorded !

I have tried several times to login via my gmail account, but am unable to. Keeps returning me to the first screen.

App used to work but after updating to ios14, stoped working. But trying to reinstall everything, app generates “illegal data format” error message.

I have 2+ months of use with a Bello2 scanner and I’m underwhelmed and not impressed. Me: 62yrs old. 6’ tall. Collegiate, high school & private club fencing coach. July 15th weight 206#, Oct 30th weight 179#. Workout average 72 min per day. I cut my food intake and increased exercise to achieve weight loss. But I don’t give Bello2 any credit for this change because the tracking data and app descriptions are vague, trend presentation is poor, diet tracking and diet input is rudimentary, weight tracking and updates are usually 1 or 2 days behind current weight, if they update at all. I do a Bello2 scan daily. Weigh in daily. Waist measurement weekly. I put food religiously. Apple apps keep my exercise data, Bella’s app reads the exercise app data. But Visceral and Body fat readings bounce around, trend line presentation in mostly useless. Views are limited and vague. The app presentation does not utilize the screen size to an optimum. Apple, Withings, MyFitnessPal all let you look at your metrics with much better scales, trends, date ranges, etc. Food input for the diet portion, probably the best part of this app, is very basic. No code scanning available. No image scanning available. MyFitnessPal is easier, more powerful and shows data much better, the Bello2 should be able to link data from MyFitnessPal but it doesn’t. 9 Block Therapy is a good idea but vague and the calorie goal is the only portion of that therapy that is visible in the diet input area. But 9 Block recommends specific amounts of Protein, Carbs and Fat… which you must memorize or you have to go back to the 9 Block to refresh your memory. Bello2 recommends a diet that seems to not relate to the 9 Block goal. Bello2 recommends exercises that show up in a tiny screen, don’t rotate to optimize screen use, etc Honestly I like the idea of the device. The app works, I don’t have issues with connections or glitches. But it is just rudimentary and poorly executed. Integrate it with other popular fitness apps and improve the graphing, show real trend lines, etc etc etc and this would be so much better. I’m disappointed after 2 full months of use.

Updated review. The developer responded and device is working again. No complaints “Ran into same issue as others. Was working fine and now can’t get passed step 5 on measurements which means I get no measurements. Now it’s just an expensive piece of plastic.”

I don't like to see too much information when I use app, but it feels like only listed the essential information. After connecting Bello with iPhone, gently place the Bello on your belly(1" above your navel/ 1" below your navel) and click the top button.That's it! It's that easy! I love simple process. Measurement time is very short, and there's no complicated or unnecessary things. The result! Yes, it was sad. There was more fat in my body than I thought. And it turns out that there is more subcutaneous fat than visceral fat, so I found that exercise is significant problem than my eating habits. Even no weight change, measurement fat shown less when the day I came back from playing golf or exercising hard. In fact, going on a diet is hard because the effects are invisible in a short period of time. Weight that doesn't change in one day and the same body lines make me demotivate and even want to give up, but Bello is helping me keep up my diet through shown accurately different measurement result when the day I exercise a lot or manage diet. Feels like Bello keep talking to me 'you're doing good!' I'm so much satisfied with this tiny cute Bello. Check your belly with Bello. and Let's take care of our precious body in proper way!
