For years, I have struggled with an eating disorder-anywhere from anorexia, to binge eating, to Bulimia. Along with a bad relationship with food, I developed a bad relationship with exercise. To me, exercise was a punishment or a way to “earn” calories. It was for the weight loss and physical changes. After discovering that over-exercise and restrictive eating had only left me feeling worse about myself, I decided it was not the answer. I soon discovered intuitive eating and joyful movement. This app helps me learn that there is more to exercise than for weight loss and that you don’t have to push yourself to a breaking point. This app doesn’t punish you for not being able to finish or complete a workout. Instead, it provides MUCH needed modifications for women with bigger bodies that everyone has been looking for. It provides encouragement, telling you uplifting statements like you’ve got this and you are strong rather than degrading ones. And best of all, it encourages you to LISTEN to your body, not push it so far until you end up getting hurt. Not to mention the range of workouts this app provides!! I almost cried when I found this app-it gets me excited about working out because it makes me FEEL good and confident afterwards instead of like a failure. Well done, I hope you know just how much of an impact you are making in my life. I will continue to share this with my friends!!
I’ve had the Big Fit Girl app for about 2 weeks now and have used it for both strength and cardio. It truly feels like a 1:1 session between you and Louise Green; her instruction is clear, transitions are concise, and the workouts are challenging. More often than not, plus sized women are encouraged to work out to lose weight; Big Fit Girl is the first app I have found that puts the emphasis on exercising for your mental and physical health, NOT as a means for weight loss. Very well done, no glitches in the app that I have found and absolutely worth the $9.99 per month subscription cost. You are able to select workouts based on area of focus, length of time and even by equipment! Wonderful app!
I didn’t know what I was looking for but I have found it! I found a philosophy that has nothing to do with an idealized body version or HANGRY then BINGE calorie counting. I just want to be active and comfortable in my own shape without the constant shaming over numbers: weight, calories, BMI, whatever. I read her book in about 2 hours, listened to a bunch of podcasts with her as a guest, defined my motivating belief and most importantly I have been more active in the past two weeks than the past two years combined! App is easy to use and has plenty of variety! Never leave reviews but this one is a game changer.
I’m a beginner after letting myself become extremely unfit over past 2 yrs of C… shenanigans. I’m just not liking the content or the instructors. I started the 12 week Strong program and when I got to the 2nd week the worksheet didn’t match the videos in that section so I didn’t really know what to do and gave up on that. Each exercise video seems like it’s made up of repeated smaller segments edited together. After a few days of working out I was wondering why there was a warm up but no cool down included. Come to find out there is a generic cool down video. There are many boxing moves (which I hate). There are plenty of modifications which was a plus. I have come to dread even opening the app and am canceling my subscription.
Now a days there are a ton of fitness apps. I have tried a few but I love Louise Green’s the best. Why? Her work outs are doable!!!! I don’t ever feel like I am falling behind or give up because a move is done too fast or feels complicated. With that said, I have flexibility to modify to make something easier or harder. I feel like I am getting a balanced workout and I feel tired but strong at the end. This is about whole body training. It’s not about punishing your body but encouraging you to be fit and build confidence. The videos are clear, visually modern and paced well. There are multiple options sorted by level, time commitment or workout focus. This is a great app!
I’ve looked my entire life for body inclusive workout instructors. I’ve worked with Louise on running programs but this is the first time I’ve used her work out app and it’s amazing. She makes body movement accessible to all. She is so thoughtful of varying needs in order for body movement. It is also incredible to see a body like mine showing leading my body movement as opposed to someone who doesn’t look like me that often leaves me feeling not good enough and shameful. If you’re looking for a body inclusive workout app—look no further! I am grateful I found Louise Green!
I love Louise Green! Her workouts really achieve their goals, and they are designed with all fitness/ability levels in mind. I’ve lost my cardio fitness during the pandemic, and my knees are trouble in most workouts, but in the Big Fit Girl workouts, I can push myself to improve without being afraid of getting hurt, or feeling like I’m not good enough. The weekly fitness challenges are great, and you can also choose a workout that matches your available time.
I took part in one of Ms. Green’s programs before and loved it, and it’s great to now have more of her workouts in the app. As someone mostly sedentary at work and trying to make a habit of exercise after many years away, this helped me get back into it without feeling like I need to already be at a certain level or make myself miserable. And to see women in the videos of all sizes is phenomenal. The exercises are fun, easy to follow, and give moderations for almost everything.
I have been using the app for about 3 months now. I really like it, the workouts make me feel successful and strong. I like how LG provides modifications for all levels. I’ve always been a little intimidated by doing group classes at a gym, and this app allows me to get a good workout in the comfort of my own home. Plus there’s a lot of different workouts to choose from AND there’s new content being added, so I never get bored. I think the price is a good value. I highly recommend.
Great to see a fit and healthy trainer! Video quality is great and app is easy to navigate. One suggestion is that I would love to see or hear about how each muscle is working. ie: the upper body 12 min video- “biceps curls” obvious, but what about “truck driver” and “scarecrow” or the difference between bicep and hammer curl? It would be a nice addition in the video to state which and how the primary muscles are being used.
I was so tired of seeing people half-dressed working out as “inspiration.” Super skinny people in skimpy outfits isn’t motivating for me. Louise is strong, encouraging, knowledgeable and offers lots of flexibility in her workouts. Her workouts are quality productions. I adore her & this app is fantastic! Lots of options to choose from (workout type, workout length, etc)
I have a lower back injury that makes it hard for me to stand for long durations. Big Girl Fit is the first fitness program that I have found that includes chair workouts! When I do her workouts, I feel empowered and encouraged! It is a great app. I recommend anyone who wants to get into fitness to try it!!
LOVE this app. It’s user-friendly and has lots of ways to adjust movements to individualize your workout for your needs. It’s truly for ALL body sizes, and never mentions weight loss. There are workout videos, programs, and video demos for moves. Accessible fitness at it’s best!
I really appreciate Louise’s workouts, especially as I’ve been less able to get to the gym or yoga studio during the pandemic. The exercises are simple and straightforward, with options to make them more accessible. No fancy footwork; no gimmicks; just nice, solid workouts.
I have been using this app for about 4 months and it’s been such a supportive, empowering resource as I’ve learned to love the body I have and embrace movement as an act of love for myself. I am enjoying getting stronger with the workouts provided!
Love this app! The workouts are organized/sorted in several ways so it’s easy to find what you’re looking for. Louise and the trainers always have modifications, so don’t feel intimidated. Highly recommend, 13/10!
So much variety with new content being added all the time! I love being able to choose my workouts based on time, level, and what kind of exercise I want to do, all in a positive, do what’s best for your body atmosphere.
I liked the HIIT workout from Louse - definitely made me sweat but wish she would offer more direction than just “you got it”. Especially when switching from one movement to the next - it’s impossible to look at the tv when doing push up and before you know it she goes on to the next exercise without saying a word.
I’ve only used the Strong program inside the app so for but it’s great! I can cast to my TV to see the moves on a large screen and follow along with the warm-up. Absolutely no complaints.
The audiobook is empowering. The exercises are inclusive. I just wish they were descriptive so that people with visual impairments can join in. I’m partially blind and I can’t see all of the details.
Lots of options, accessible for people with bigger bodies, with lots of clear modifications. Lots of variety, too, with strength (hand weights, kettlebells), boxing, Pilates, yoga, cardio.
