Getting Better
While the app is still not what is used to be, I will say I have noticed significant improvements to the user experience with the most recent round of updates and bug fixes. Please continue to make improvements BlackVue!!!

Aggressive subscription campaign
This app is a disaster. They keep resetting the 1-star rating reviews for their app. Blackvue, make a good app and everyone will give you a good review. This company is working against itself. Go for Thinkware cameras. Very annoying notifications to subscribe to paid plans. Blackvue changed the notifications from nagging you daily to weekly. It shows how desperate Blackvue is. The cloud plan is not worth more than $1.99 per month. Also the Blackvue cameras are power hungry in parking mode. They need to be a lot more efficient in power consumption for the cloud service to be worth considering. If you have a battery, it is not possible to access the battery unless you have an active internet connection and logged in. That is very backward thinking. We should be able to access the battery offline too. The previous UI was a lot better even though it was not great. The new UI even after the recent fixes is still very annoying and requires navigating various menus to access what was possible to do with one click in the previous UI. Even one star is too generous for this app. I have 2 900x cameras and 2 batteries. That is almost $2000 spent on junk and spam. I will not recommend any Blackvue cameras to my friends because of this app. I suspect many users are not aware that their videos are being shared and can be seen by other users. This company is on a self destructive path by not listening to its current customers.

Atrociously awful app!
App is completely unusable! Newest version now wants access to location and your local network… for what? The BlackVue app doesn’t even appear in iPhone settings if you look for it to try to adjust settings as prompted when attempting to open the app. We just need to be able to access our videos locally through the app! NOBODY needs or wants an account or cloud service or giving you access to our locations just to use the product WE ALREADY PAID FOR AND OWN! The app worked just fine for years PRIOR to their requiring you to have an account just to view your own videos on a camera the USER ALREADY PURCHASED! These cameras are already expensive and now they’re utterly useless because of this ridiculous app! The incompetence of the leadership and developers at this company is disgusting! Take a lesson from the other cheaper dashcams that actually do the thing they’re made to do and don’t constantly make their app worse. Make the app useable and stop changing it and requiring an account, cloud, or permissions for things that were never needed before! If you’re considering buying a dashcam system from this company then DON’T BUY IT! If it was possible to give this app negative stars on its rating we all would! Do better BlackVue! This app and its constant changes for the worse is unacceptable and you should be ashamed of yourselves!

Same problems
I have the same problems as Touch of Good humor! I am a paying customer that has a DR970XBox LTE and immediately I noticed a unit turning on and off, calling the support team I was told to checking my wiring, replace the SD card, they replaced the main unit and it did not fix the problem, purchasing their battery pack as a suggestive fix due to poor power connections and this didn't fix the problem, replace the LTE unit and that didn't fix the problem. I stopped using their LTE card and went with T-Mobile and that did not fix the problem. They slowly stopped all email communications. When connecting using their app, for some reason, it forgets that I have a unit and I have to go through the entire set up process again and again, I'm disappointed with the picture, I was expecting the best of the best 4K what I have is a dark 2K at best fish eye video. The app has a battery indicator that Bluetooth sinks with the battery pack and you're supposed to be able to see how much battery life you have and mine most of time does not work. I have to mainly go in and look at it. And this unit is power hungry it depletes my battery back up within 15-16 hours. And they notified me by email that I should contact them for support and that this is not an app issue and I look at the reviews... and some how my last review was deleted! Please save your money save your time.. Do not buy Blackvue.

Best app for communication with your camera
They have made some many improvements to the app and to be honest there's no other camera who can offer you all you need in one app they recently made an update and to be honest I stick with BlackVue since 2020 and I'm still their costumer because they are the only ones who offerer this type of security in a car, it's expensive yea but it worth the money, this camera save me probably thousands of dollars, where I live there's some low life people who likes to breaking in to vehicles and cause a lot of damage and this camera save me from that and even a posible murder, right now the suspect is on prison because this camera record 3 channel and I perfectly got him on camera

Buy Another Brand, Videos no longer easily accessed
BlackVue has made a horrible marketing decision to now push a subscription app with the last update. You can no longer easily access videos through the app without endless attempts to get you to subscribe. Worse, without strong data reception, you cannot connect to your camera easily. The emergency access mode prompt that comes up after several failed attempts is useless. I will switch to another brand. The main point of a dash cam is to easily access the video in an emergency. My vehicle was rear-ended in a parking lot and the responding officer was starting believe the driver that hit me after watching me fumble with the app. The app is that much of a joke now that it is comical to attempt to connect to the camera. Luckily, I had my laptop and all was well after I pulled the file. If you need to grab a plate quickly after a hit and run, good luck with the Blackvue brand.

Improvements
I’ve been using the DR750 2 channel LTE model for about 2 years now and have been happy with it. The software has seen some very slight improvements over that time , especially with the latest Update on 4-1-24 where they finally implemented Battery Status over the cloud. A much welcomed feature. My only gripe is ever since they added that 2 way communication feature it made the viewing window smaller and no longer fills the whole screen of my phone, it’s like a small box within my large screen real estate. I wish they could give the option to enable or disable the 2 way , since I don’t even use that. Overall the Cameras have been fine.

Easy to use. Easy to install
The app goes great with my new BlackVue installed at my local dealer. I was impressed how easy it was to connect to the cars mobile hotspot. No battery issues, probably because it was installed my pros. I read up on the privacy concerns, and by default all settings are private. The report by the cyber security researcher appears to me to be a red herring. The company makes available the option to go public, but they never once forced me to do so. Also there’s minimal notifications, so not sure what the other reviews are describing. But I think the app is well engineered along with their cameras.

What these kind of reviews/survey. Why wouldn’t this company who offers hardware to the public strive to make it better. I’ll telll you why. Because I think their more focused on something else. Or don’t have experience man power and know how. UPDATE—- From my previous post I must say “Everything is working smoothly now. Finally I can say I’m happy with my purchase. I don’t have any concerns. Live view playback. Front/rear,wifi ,hotspot 5g ,LTE, Connectivity. It all works with no hiccups. Thank you guys. Not let’s just keep it consistent.

This app just keeps getting worse and worse.
Very unstable and glitches out when I open the app telling me to add a camera until I click another tab abd then go back to camera. Every time I click anything in the app, there's a long delay and blank screen before it decides to work. I think it's overloaded with junk now and this is most likely the culprit. It used to be a wonderful app before they decided to bastardize it with useless junk. Trying to view the live footage in landscape is also a challenge as the full screen button changes to landscape but the camera window remains the same with lots of empty black space. After 8 to 12 attempts it eventually works. Please do better blackvue!!! 1.5 star average rating should tell you something!!! Wake up!!!

Terrible App & Worse Product
Terrible app for an even worse product. You can’t even use the app now without letting it access your location… why? What reason is there for the app to have to know my location in order for it to connect to the camera’s local wifi connection? From a technical standpoint this requirement is absolutely unnecessary, but they still require it (so they can harvest your data likely). The app now also constantly nags you to give them more money for the products you already bought. No, I don’t want to subscribe to your crappy cloud service. Don’t even get me started on the cameras, that constantly drain your car battery EVEN WITH the added Blackview battery installed. Stay far away from Blackview and their products.

After update everything got chaos
I know this app was unpredictable. What I mean is sometime you can only see some video without disconnecting but majority it always disconnects when you try to live or view your previous record, recently I updated the latest firmware and all of sudden my GPS tracking stay in the same place and I cannot log in anymore, really disappointed and I only got this camera for one year and yet I have LTE module stuck with the account which I cannot even access due I’m still waiting for my forget password email. So frustrating. I really feel mad and sad why I brought this camera in the first place. I shouldn’t update the firmware.

Overall Good
I just purchased the DR-770X Box 3-Channel system and have been using it for about a month. I even purchased the Power Magic Ultra Battery B-124X to use parking mode. The video quality is great and I like how it automatically switches from normal mode to parking mode. Kinda wish there was a way to disable the motion recording and only record when impact occurs. When the battery is at 100% it will record 10-11 hours on average while in parking mode but this is with all three cameras recording. Issue I am seeing currently is that the program keeps logging me out. When I open the application, I get the message “Same ID in Use” and it wants me to log back in. Kind of annoying. Also, the interior video has a purple hue to it on things that are black like my seats. Not sure if this can be fixed with a firmware update.

Very suspicious app
This app is mad sus, the only dashcam that makes you create and account for no reason. I created an account and tried connecting via that option and wouldn’t allow me to only via WiFi mode. Now this is where it’s gets even more suspicious when connecting to the dash it will not allow me due to having a vpn at all. You may say ohh it’s because it tracks your location accurately but Momento doesn’t need me to take off my vpn. Great quality video though, wish it had an audio button on it instead of having to connect to the app to turn it off.

Used to be good, now horrible
I’ve been buying BlackVue camera’s for the past 6+ years I believe. Back in the beginning the app worked well and I could view recorded videos, live view, and update the firmware. Lately, however, the only thing I can do is update firmware settings for the camera itself from the app. I’ve tried everything to get the app to show me recorded videos either via cloud or WiFi direct, and the list stays empty. But, the camera IS recording clips to the sd card, they just won’t show in the app anymore. I’ve deleted the app, re-installed, multiple times, and tried different things to no success.

Waste of time
I don’t know what happened to this app it was ok at best before. Now I’m lucky to be able to sign in! And when I’m able to sign in when the stars align in the right pattern I’m not able to play back any video I get playback failure. I reached out to there tech support and he treated me like I am a complete dumas$ didn’t appreciate that I tried to get a older version but no luck on my end but why bother when the app won’t open! I can only hope if I do get in a fender bender that at least the sd card will work or is the system a complete waste of time! I hope they fix there bugs and treat people like they want to be treated!

Bait and switch
Zero stars. I’ve purchased eight of these cameras since 2017. I have receipts for all of them. Black view has made it impossible to download videos from the camera to your phone without having a cloud service. I did not agree to those terms on the product. I’m basically being forced to do something now to buy service that I never intended to have. It’s the classic bait and switch. If you’re reading this, return your BlackVue camera and go buy one that will work with your phone so that you can download videos in the event of an emergency or an accident in real time and at the scene.

Garbage
Just bring back the old version; what we want is simple, but you want to learn the hard way 🤷🏾‍♂️ This app horrible, last version was good, but they chose pushing ads and subscription request pop ups over caring about the customer base. VIOFO doesn’t have these garbage tactics, and they’re cheaper, AND they use better Sony image sensors. Bye-bye blackvue Also, why does an app used to connect to your dash cam to view recordings require Internet access?! Yep that’s right folks. If you don’t have Internet access, this app will immediately close on you when you try to use it to access your cameras.

No issues anymore
The app seems to have been terrible on the past. However I just bought a dash cam and iam very impressed. App is quick and works well. Only buggy thing is setting up lte. If you don’t want lte once in the menu you can’t back out of it. You have to restart the app. Otherwise excellent. Better than Garmin and Akaso by far!

I bought the dashcam and works good. The only problem is that I wanted to buy another one for my wife’s car but I won’t because I wanna to add it to my account that I already paying for the cloud storage and lte connectivity… but there’s no way to do that because you can’t use the app in 2 phones at the same time, if you login in one phone the other one logs you out and you don’t get any notifications. Please make it to work in more than one phone at the same time.

I’d leave zero starts if I could
I rarely write reviews but after my experience with this app I felt like I had to, app is dog water it is literally terrible. The main purpose for me installing this app was to be able to download video from my dashcam seamlessly and I can’t even connect to the cam without several pop ups. The cherry on top was after I got through their intrusive pop ups I can’t even connect to my DR-590x thought it is an older model they list as compatible on their app still. Do better Blackvue revert back to what you were good for.

App Occasionally Works. By occasionally I mean almost never.
I regret buying this dashcam. I don’t even know if the images are okay because this piece of garbage app is impossible to use. I have been on the phone with “support” three times and I still can’t view a video. The app will connect to my camera maybe 1 inn50 times that I try and on that 50th time it invariably loses the connection in <5 seconds before you can actually watch anything. I can’t believe the company made such a garbage app which renders their dashcams useless.

Terrible App
The paid cloud doesn’t work. Everything about this app is terrible. The developer apparently hires 1st graders as engineers and it really shows with this app. It will not work most of the time and when it does, it is simply by a stroke of luck. Despite having the worst app rating in the store, their last update was over 2 months ago. That is how much they care to take these issues seriously. Do yourself a favor, buy another brand. Blackvue is terrible.

Really, truly trash
Only one person can login in at a time. For any user who logs in, anyone else that was logged in will automatically get kicked out. For every other dash cam I’ve used, you can create multiple log ins to access the same camera, or at least multiple people can use the same login. This is clearly not difficult to achieve. The interface is clunky. Don’t make my mistake. Listen to everyone and just don’t buy from this company.

WASTE OF MONEY DO NOT BUY!!!
Another update and another failure for Blackvue. I’m beginning to wonder if they even care about the app anymore. Reached out to their “support” and followed their instructions, which are pretty basic. And the APP STILL CRASHES!!! Utterly useless. They need to bring back the old app and put that up while they try to figure out this problem if they can. DON’T bother subscribing or buying their cameras. Without the app it’s all useless and a waste of money!!! DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM!!!

Cannot use the app without giving location permission
The purpose of using BlackVue app is to connect to the dashcam easily and get the footages. But, since an update, the app refuse to work without giving it location permission. If no location permission is granted, the app will close itself, and does not allow users to do anything else. Why do I need to give out location permission just for connecting to the dashcam locally? Isn't the dashcam already has GPS built in?

The latest app is a showstopper
Having paid as much as I did for these cameras the recent ui update to the app is making me regret the purchase of these cameras. Always needing to fling multiple times a day. Crashes. Random errors that make no sense such as not having internet connectivity. The old ui was dated looking, sure, but I don’t care. It worked that’s what I care about. Just because it’s looks old does not mean it needs to be changed.

Older UI was better
The older UI was a whole lot better than what it is now. The app is Constantly is pushing for you to subscribe to its cloud service which can get pretty annoying. The other very annoying thing about this app is how it is requiring me to log in daily just to be able to access the camera playback. Blackvue has great cameras but the application isn't as great.

If I would have known that the only way to view the playback videos in the app is when I’m sitting in my car, turning car on so dashcam turns on, I would not have purchase this brand. The dashcam has to be on to view recorded videos. How terrible! Absolute garbage. Playback videos should be avail on the app without having to turn on car and cam. Get it together. It’s 2024. I wish I would have gone with a different brand. Waste of money. Trash app.

K-pop tries to do tech….fail
These people are “wired” differently which shows in the user experience. It’s like a middle school project that has been sold around the world before the project was actually completed and without an adult trying it first. If you like spending time on the phone with tech support, erasing and reinstalling the app, disconnecting and reconnecting your cameras/clouds and are happy to pay these clowns for all of your time and frustration then this is the spot.

Confusing
I believe in the translation to English a few things have been lost. I do think it combines both the cloud and Wi-Fi instructions resulting in a confusing mess. I did get it to work after many trials and errors, you need network knowledge to get it going. In summation, it needs work combining the 3 different applications on the App Store into one. It’s a great camera but the software in this application needs work.

Junk
App keeps forgetting cameras, I plan on canceling my subscription and going with thinkware and selling my BlackVue. I get this once a week sometimes I get my cameras back but I normally have to re add them back. “ make sure the email and password are correct and check your network connection” Yet I’m still logged in and can access all of my downloaded videos and my account is STILL being billed for the cloud.

The worst app and thus camera I’ve ever used
I’ll never buy another BlackVue again. The app is horrible and it automatically sets incredibly stupid settings which you have no control over and in my case made it useless because it just took a Timelapse video without audio instead of an actual video and now I don’t have any evidence that the person dinged my car. Incredibly stupid developers

Despise the new app
The app became worse as soon as they decided to do a subscription based model. Live view now requires for me to be subscribed to some service. Wasn’t the case before. Functionality went down the toilet. Privacy is not an option. Anyone can view your videos when you’re online. Spent over $1,000 for this camera and the app is worth $1. Not a good business model.

Recent update saves all my downloaded videos with all my Photos on my iPhone which is annoying. Need to add an option to turn off automatically saving everything to my Photos.

Downgrade
The old app, as bad as it was, is far better. When reviewing videos the constant buffering puts an overlay with a blue spinning circle over the video which remains even when playback resumes making the preview function almost useless. Landscape works depending on which way the wind is blowing. Definitely a step backwards. Also very “in your face” about creating an account etc.

Never had so many problems with an app
Crazy how these people charge you the amount on these cameras and can’t even get a functioning app. I haven’t installed these camera in a year and the app is 20x worse . I literally can’t even access anything thru it . It freezes a lot. Loads extremely slow. Wish I honestly never even got these cameras.

Horrible app.
Camera is constantly connecting and reconnecting from the cloud. When u need it the most in parking mode, it will not connect. It advertises that the videos are stored in the cloud. Lie!!! It is stored in the camera sd card until you go online and move it to the cloud, totally useless if a thief breaks into your car and destroys the camera. Total waste of money, don’t buy!!!

These days nearly everyone has some sort of local storage at home. It would be great if the camera could upload video to owners devices when connected to home Wi-Fi. Sell your cloud storage to those who want it and upload to local storage for those who have it. Simple.

Return it now
Have a 750x two channel. Used to work great. The new app they released prevents you from connecting to the app. This is my third blackvue and my last. I tried every reset option, phone config, cloud registration, you name it. It doesn't work. Don yourself a favor and get a different camera while you have a return policy. I can't return this and it is out of warranty. The kicker is the camera still records. Validated via memory card. But you cant change settings because the app wont connect. You should return your camera now and buy literally anything else.

just got my highly rated, highly anticipated, highly reviewed black view, thousand dollar camera. Updated the firmware and it won’t connect to Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. Uninstalled the app reset the camera reinstalled the app re-tried to connect and it won’t connect. Returning and switching for a different brand. This is garbage

This app went downhill over the last 5-6 years. I used to love. Used to recommend it to friends and family. Now they want you to pay for EVERYTHING after already dropping hundreds on a camera. And now you won’t store saved videos? I have to store them on MY device? Get it together.

I want my money back.
Why try to fix something that’s not broken? This app was very easy and friendly to use at one time. That is not the case anymore. Connecting my app to my camera so I can view and download events creates rage. I’ll be selling my cameras soon and going with a different brand from here on out.

Not working !!!
This application is not working with my BlackVue dr590x camera, I’m having connection issues. When camera is properly connected it stills says camera is not connected. I update the application but problem was still same. Just wastage of time . Really disappointed!

Yes a disaster and phone support not useful
Theee days trying to set it up without success. SIM card ran out of capacity after two hours driving and can’t upgrade for a month and can’t connect 970x via in car or iPhone WiFi. So much more is wrong with this but I don’t have the time to get into it.

Deserves zero stars, this app update has effectively bricked the camera.
This app is absolutely awful now. You can no longer connect to the cameras wifi to access videos. Please revert back to the prior version. The dash cam is basically useless now. Buy anything else but BlackVue unless this is fixed.

Horrible Experience!
Their app update is tremendously bad! Wasted nearly an hour trying to simply access my dash camera footage. Reached out to support and got nowhere. Removed the app from my phone. Selling my BlackVue dash camera and replacing with a Garmin. BlackVue cameras are nice but utterly useless if I’m unable to access my footage via their faulty, horribly configured app.

Can’t access my live view
Can’t access the live view through the cloud unless I upgrade to a plan, the free plan doesn’t give you a option to continue with it only paid plans, the most expensive camera brand out there with a stupid app ?
