For making basic labels, it’s great. You can make *really* decent labels very easily, with more options than I really anticipated (even with having done mild research). It would be cool to have the option to get advanced options — like a computer connection or even just tracking/kerning/leading for designers or something, but I understand that’s asking a lot and it’s just a label maker. It would trouble anyone else accidentally tapping into it, but I am saying I would *pay* for that feature. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy with it as-is — it’s a very cool label maker/app combo and I’d totally recommend it.
I’ve been using the Brother Design & Print 2 app for my label printing, and it’s been a game-changer! The app is user-friendly, and I love how easy it is to customize my designs directly from my phone. The seamless integration with my Brother label printer makes the whole process super convenient, especially when I need to create labels on the go. The wide range of templates and customization options gives me plenty of flexibility, whether I’m designing for home organization or business purposes. Overall, it’s a reliable and efficient app that I highly recommend for anyone with a Brother printer!
I love organizing and labeling everything. This was an upgrade from my last P touch brother label maker. I had 2 before this and they both lasted me many many years. This as my third purchase is a great one because it does so much more than any of the previous ones I have had. I dont NEED these extra options but having them at my finger tips are really fun. Thank you brother for continuously making great products that we can rely on and get the job done.
My label printer with the app makes organizing my craft room easier. The choices of font, number of lines, center, left margin, or right margin allow me to let my creative side fly. Super easy, and I can save my label for future use. I also use the app to label power cords for my cell phone, tablet, computer, head phones, ear buds, etc., so if I leave it behind its easy to identify as mine at a family members house or hotel. Love it! So glad I have this.
Printer useless without app!!!! I have had this label printer a couple years and used it regularly up until today. I tried to design a label and every time I select a template, the app closes!! HELP!!!!! Update since my initial review: 5⭐️ I updated the new version of the app and everything is working again! I lost all my saved labels, but at least I am up and running again. Thank you for contacting me with help!
I luv the way the app and labeler work together. I don’t usually have any luck with label apps but this is wonderful. I selected the file tab template for teeny labels and the app resizes your text to fit the template making it easy to try different abbreviations and keep the type large enough to see. The variations of templates is wide too. Great!!
Outline in Box area does not move to move to left, right or up & down.🥴 Need more offerings. Lastly, the most important thing about website and ptouch embellish elite is Your product causes so much TAPE Label $$$$$$ WASTE! It’s so disappointing to see an INCH of tape go to waste equals my money going down the tubes. Please correct this problem$$$$$$$. It can easily be corrected with update to your app or website. It’s almost a decade long problem. Fix it! We deserve more for our money or offer your label cartridges for 35-40% less.
Love this app! I appreciate being able to change fonts and add emoji’s and adjust the size and spacing! I’d love the option to create folders under saved designs in order to be able to group designs for different projects. For example, be able to organize my labels for my office independently from my labels in my kitchen and to be able to save them accordingly and add them to a file so things are easy to locate, sort through and add to.
I just downloaded this because I was worried that my old version of the app would expire in a few days. This new version does not hold the automatic tape length and has cropped my label even though it showed me it would be printing the whole thing. There seems to be no way to set the tape length on automatic. It seems to always revert to a set length of label. I tried and cannot find a way to change that. And then it also defaults to a smaller font size every single time even though it shows that it can print the larger font size. Super frustrating, not ready for prime time. Fail.
There are a lot of design options, but the basic user interface has been overlooked. Options like “cut last label” that should be a simple check box on the main print screen, take three clicks to get to. And if you forget what it was set to the last time you used it, you have to drill down to check it every time. I wish there was a setting for printing multiple labels.
The label maker works fine, although it does waste an inch of tape each time you print a label. That seems like a design flaw they should have fixed a long time ago. My biggest annoyance is that there is no landscape support, so it means closing up the Apple keyboard each time I print labels. This is something that I wish the developers would fix.
This device works well for me but I started off with a lot of wasted label material. I removed the cut option and then sized my labels so that I could get acceptable borders. I now cut them after I have printer 25 or 30 labels in a row for much less waste.
The margins for labels are absolutely ridiculous! If the title is centered, there is way too much wasted tape on both sides of the title. If it’s positioned on one of the sides, there is still too much tape on the other. I read that the options should save tape, but that’s not really true. There is still too much waste. If I want a specific length, the app should be able to determine the size and print the label to fit that chosen size.
My P-touch label maker is great, but the updated app just blew my mind! I updated to the new app, was immediately able to link and make some new labels, and saw the applications for making labels for my digital cords, memory sticks, etc. Nothing lately has been this smooth & effortless. I was impressed!
The box is easy to access both label stock and batteries. Came with electric adapter. Connects easily. Software for the labels gives you many preset options and you can design your own for the most part. Plenty of options for most people.
The main drawback is the lack of an iPad app. Apart from that, it’s a little awkward — the templates links don’t seem to work, you can’t file saved labels in folders, I have to re-connect every time I use the app rather than it auto-finding like headphones do. Stuff like that. But this is a great little printer.
It is great having an app to print the labels from, but it’s limited in its functionality by not being able to save a file with more than one label. I am a teacher and I would like to be able to save one file with all of my student names or a series of numbers without needing to open a new file for each.
The app works well enough, but a couple things keep it from getting a 5. First, it’s actually jarring in 2021 that the app isn’t wysiwyg when adding text. It should handle the blocks transparent to the user. Second, I know you make money selling tape, but an inch? Do better. Half that would be fine.
This thing is so awesome for organizing the office. I had to get one for the office and one for at home. It’s easy to work. I didn’t think I needed anything other than my computer to straighten up my office, but this is one tool which is really necessary.
This app is one of the very best I have ever used. I am personally not a tech person, but this was so easy to get on to. The printing is clear and fast. This app is a must have.
I love the Bluetooth ability and the charger. I love that I don’t have to use 6 batteries. I would like it if you had a list, such as 40 spice, to print you could pull from the list and have them cut between each name without having a 1in waist of tape each time. So, that means when I need to print out 40 spices I’m waisting 40 inches of tape (over 3 ft).
C’mon, y’all. By version 2, you’d think the app would be iPad-aware and rotate with the orientation of the device (thus allowing me to use an attached keyboard). Makes me less inclined to pull out the label maker, thus less inclined to use up consumables, thus reducing your revenue stream. Please ponder that one...
While I love having this label maker, and use it often, I find I have too many saved labels, and cannot find a way to individual labels that are no longer needed. I’ve looked through all the documentation, and can’t find any way to delete from the app.
A very handy app for the PT-P710BT. But it is a bit slow to connect w/Bluetooth and the print options need to be updated to include the newer TZe 12mm white on blue tape. I’m surprised Brother doesn’t update the app automatically when they introduce a new tape color/size.
High quality is only opened in computer. Would you please open it in iPhone/cell phone APP? It is not convenient if we have to use laptop/computer every time for the high quality function.
The old app had more options for frames that are missing from the new app. I also wish there were more fonts. Otherwise it is very easy to use with the PTouch Cube. It’s nice to be able to label everything easily!
I use this with a tablet with keyboard and wish it would use landscape the whole time. Not just when you get to the edit mode. At least it now uses my keyboard.
So many deficiencies in the software, it is hard to enumerate, but here is a sample: -text alignment does not work. – Bluetooth connection has to be established each time instead of what every other device does, that is to remember the Bluetooth connection. – tape width is not automatically sensed and has to be reset manually each time the tape is changed
This app creates huge blank spaces inside the frames before and after text creating much larger labels than necessary. The previous app didn’t force so much wasted space. Thankfully, I didn’t delete the older app and can still use it, for the time being.
It works, I guess, but it’s absurd that you can’t change the text orientation in the editor. I eventually found what I wanted via a template, but if it’s possible via a template, why isn’t it possible in the editor?
The only thing that seems to be missing is the option to add plan text to QRCodes that are generated. Wish the option would be added allowing you to input raw text.
These days, everything comes with an UBS cord. And try as hard as I could, I was continuously searching for the right cord. That was until the P-Touch Cube came into my life. Now, all cords are labeled and life is good.
The user interface is really primitive for iPhone and iPad. The iPad version only has a portrait orientation, except for the printing screen. Text boxes appear to only allow one font type/size per text box. Label options seem to be much more limited compared to the Mac. Overall, the iOS version seems like a half hearted afterthought.
This little machine is fantastic! It has made back to school labeling a breeze! Everything is nice and neat and the technology and set up is fast and easy! Get one!!!
This machine works like a champ. The Bluetooth connection and the chargeable battery are outstanding. I really like the fact it will print 1.5 inch labels. Pay the extra money and forgo others.
This my first time using the cube and have to say it nice I downloaded app and it great at work. Looking to get more tape and have fun at work with it.
This is a great app. The one issue I found is that using the power cord you can only edit the font on the left side of the label. The right side remains at the default font. Other than that it’s pretty decent.
So I am not sorry I got this label maker but it annoys me that I have to connect the maker to the app every single time I use the app. Otherwise very happy!
The cut marks keep appearing to ruin my prints and ribbons. Please stop printing cut marks. I’m sure most if not all users don’t need cut marks. We know how to cut without the useless guide. Please improve the app to stop printing cut marks when users don’t want it.
It works great, but annoying that I have to reconnect to the printer every time. It would be nice if it tried to reconnect to the last used BT printer when you open the app.
When I connect my PT710BT to my mac, the print quality is fine, but printing from any of the mobile app, the text is badly pixelated. The printer is clearly capable of better output than the app provides.
