No late fees!!!!
I used Citizens Pay to pay for my sons Xbox at Target and they have been wonderful. I forgot to make a payment one month and reached out to them on a chat and they said there was no late fees for paying late! I just paid double payment next month, as long as you catch up soon. I’ll definitely use them again for installments again. My only criticism was trying to find their website to pay my bill that first month. I wish they’d send an email on where to pay after your purchase. Thank you Citizens Pay!

Good now!
First several attempts to register and log in didn’t work and I couldn’t figure out why. Decided I would call today, after my family visitors left, and talk to a person to figure it out. Received a phone call from a helpful person before I got a chance to call. After talking with her, I was able to register without difficulty and get things set up. So, rough start, but now it seems things are great. I wish I had gotten the person’s name to give her credit.

App experience as bad as the customer experience is
Citizens continues to leave the ball dropped when it comes to their credit support experiences. The website has several issues that this app appears to just carry over into app form. Even with stored passwords you’ll run into errors where it randomly will give you errors that your username/password are incorrect several times before finally accepting them - even with faceID. And good luck getting any assistance out of these guys. It would be faster to hop on a plane and head out to Rhode Island and see if you can find someone there in person.

Continuous server errors / timeouts
For over a longbtime now I haven’t been able to use this app. I can type in the same password, exactly correct multiple times and it will tell me it is invalid, then the very next try the password will work. Eventually I was able to turn on FaceID, but now that just gets met with an never ending spinning green circle that results in an eventual Server Error would you like to try again, that just creates a loop of login, server error, try again. Iv tried completely removing the app and restarting and the same problems persist.

I just downloaded the app today and automatically one of my lines were on there which was good. However I wish you can add others on there so I can have them all in one place. (Unless they’re separate things and I’m mixing them up) Other than that, it does what it needs to: login, keep track, and pay your line.

This App Is Useless
I have accounts with this bank and have been trying to log in to see the important messages I apparently have on my accounts. I can never log in on the app because it freezes up as soon as you get into your account and then if you go to their website to log in that way, the same problem occurs. I’m not sure what else to do to log into my account but low key this is ridiculous.

Widget doesn’t show details in Dark mode
Ever since the latest update, the widget went blank, I’m only able to see details after switching the light mode. I hate switching back and forth between modes, since I prefer dark mode for apps view. Thanks.

Unethical company
This company does everything in their power to help you miss payments so they can charge you fees and interest. You can’t schedule payments for future unless it’s autopay and if you use autopay you can only schedule the minimum amount. Don’t use Citizens for any of your banking.

Don’t even bother

Great App Ruined By One Glaring Problem
To start, I'd like to say that this app would actually be a five star app, but for the problems that I faced. And while not insurmountable, the issues were enough of an inconvenience, annoyance, and security concern to knock three stars off the rating. The first problem, put simply, is this: the application doesn't allow pasting passwords and user IDs. You can copy them from the fields, you can select all, "replace all" (which does nothing by the way) and even crash the app by pressing a button that's labeled in Chinese on the context menu but you can't paste a user ID and password. Yeah. So, why is this such a problem? Well, user IDs are not such a problem, most sites feed off our email addresses which we're pretty familiar with. Entering an email on a cell phone is as easy as setting up a text replacement shortcut for autocorrect to pick up. The problem is the password field. To explain, a little background: I don't trust anyone on the net. You're all scammers out to take advantage of me and steal my money and my identity, if you can. At least you are until you prove you're not. :) To stop said debauchery, I use exceptionally complicated passwords and a unique password for each site I log into. This renders the passwords extremely difficult to hack and extremely easy to deal with should a password be compromised in a data breech: once the breech is exposed, change it on the single site where it was used and done. No need to change the password on multiple sites because I don't reuse them. This also has the uncanny ability to cause me to forget my passwords for each site. To remedy that, I use a password vault. When I launched the Citizens Pay app, I thought it would work like any of the other fifty or so apps that I use daily basis and I could paste my password into the authentication field from the password vault. Unfortunately, as I've said, that is not the case. So it took me a good two and a half minutes to put in my exceptionally long and secure password - character ... by ... character. Once I was in the app most everything was great. When I logged out, the trouble started all over again because the app not only doesn't allow pasting a password, it also doesn't allow saving said complicated password either. So every time I log in, I have to input the full password. It costs about two and a half minutes to enter a password in excess of twenty five characters, mixed numbers, letters and symbols. This inconvenience could be remedied by simply allowing paste into the password field. There's no reason not to allow pasting as it's no less secure than requiring a person to type out complicated passwords with a 'reveal' button to display the password field contents (which this also has, by the way). Because of this glaring omission, and because the app authors seem to have included everything else that apple allows with regard to text editing in the context menu (including scanning text - who does that for a password field?), I took two stars off the rating. The last missing star is gone for a simple reason: the application does not allow biometric login, i.e., there is no Face ID authentication option within the app. In this day and age, that shouldn't have even made it out of QA. All-in-all, it's a good app but with these two missing features, it's problematic to use and trust completely. It is my hope that the developers will see this review and move to correct these issues in short order. Thanks for reading.

Terrible login experience
The app itself is very basic and only lets you see basic account information like balance and payment options. Aside from being very basic, the app is very broken. When logging in you get asked for a code the first time, when I select to receive the code via text it never shows so I have to log back in and select automated call. Having an automated call for a security code isn’t that bad because it’s supposed to only happen once, or so I thought. Every time I open the app, I have to log back in, not only do I have to log back in, I have to enter my information twice because it makes me disable Face ID before it will let me log in again even though Face ID never worked in the first place for this useless app. Now every time I use this app I have to log in twice and get an automated phone call with a code even though I selected “remember me” Absurd.

Every time I have to deal with this company it is a nightmare. The latest issue was with my password and when trying to create a secure password I kept receiving and error about my username being part of my password. Not a single character from my username was in my password. What a joke.
