For reference: my app is updated to the latest version when this review is posted. There’s a bug in when completing a payment, an error that states the payment could not be completed and to visit the site or contact College Ave by phone. Well the concern in this is the payments are removed from my selected bank account and I also received a confirmation email. Two changes of state simultaneously (denial and approval, or 200 OK and 400 Bad Request), especially with money, is not efficient nor wise to have in an app such as College Ave. Please handle this so future and current borrowers are not affected, especially who have a limited budget or don’t have the financial room to deal with this type of error
I have loans through College Ave and Ascent (which recently changed names to Launch?). I have both loan provider apps downloaded, and College Ave is the only one that really works for me. I love the interface, it tells me all the information I need to know, I am able to make easy payments outside of autopay, and it tells me when autopay is scheduled. If you want to change the date your payment is made on, no problem, just give them a call or do it on the app. They were super nice to me on the phone and easy to understand. Not sure what all of the gripes are for; if there isn’t something you can do with your account on the app, just give them a call. I’ve never had issues logging in.
I dont know what is wrong with this app but anytime I want to do anything on it, it takes FOREVER to load. Its very time consuming and frustrating when I want to make multiple payments..
This is the one and only parent loan I will ever be taking with College Ave for to their app and website not operating properly. Of course the navigation works ok but when it comes time to change your payment settings or want to add a one time payment, their system gets all swirly and you get the circle of death that spins indefinitely. Thinking that your request didn’t go through, you repeat the process only to find out that each one went through. To the point that College Ave will accept and process payment when the first two attempts completely paid off the loan. Stay away from College Ave, there are better options out there.
App is insanely buggy and slow. It won’t even let me see my second loan I took out with them! Only one of them which forces me to go on to their even worse website! Customer service is nonexistent, it’s as if they want you to miss your payments so they can ruin your life. Take a loan out elsewhere. Honestly wish I could rate this lower because one star is too generous. Making loans this difficult to pay and access is criminal.
Title says it all. I don’t know why college Ave doesn’t want me to pay off my student loans. The app doesn’t work at all. It did for a while though it was glitchy but now for the past month or so it just says “sorry try again later” then I do over and over and it doesn’t work. At least I can always struggle to get the junky website to work instead of use this broken app
Literally useless. You can’t even get the app to load. And even if you do, it’s so slow that you can’t even do anything without it inevitably crashing. I downloaded the app thinking it might be faster than the website, which is also awfully slow. Turns out, the app is even worse and more useless. Don’t waste your time downloading it.
This company is not reliable, non function able and overall just not a good company to work with. I just made an account with this company but have only had bad experiences!! I constantly can’t login into my account through the app nor the website. When trying to retrieve my login information it says my account is non existent. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!
Always getting errors when logging into the app or following the suggested website address. This always make me nervous when it’s time to make payments because of the unreliable accessibility. Because of this, I will not reapply for another loan through this company. It’s unfortunate because I have 3 more years of undergrad loans to secure.
Despite the website not working I finally managed to get a payment to go through and figured I would try out the app. A week after submitting my payment online it didn’t show that it was paid on the app. They somehow managed to make their terrible website worse. Thanks a lot.
Good luck paying back your student loans because the app and their website will not let you sign in because they never work. Should be criminal for a loan provider to not have working services and forcing you to incur higher debt from interest rates on a loan you can’t pay
You’d think with all the money they take month to month they’d be able to hire someone to make a less glitchy app. So slow, doesn’t even work have the time, and says my payments don’t go through when they do, but then again their website does that as well.
I’ve reinstalled the app three times and I can’t even login. I type in the fields and when I try to continue I get a red flag saying the fields I typed in are required, as though I didn’t type anything at all. Just a complete pain.
It would be extremely helpful if I could log in considering I cosigned on the student loan and am making the payments. Everything is under my student so I’m not able to see anything without their login details.
I am new to this and had troublemaking a payment, please advise. I am. 77 year old grandma with Parkinson’s and the sole support of my granddaughter. I was recently widowed. I see from other reviews that this is an ongoing issue. Kim fredericks
When trying to login to the app, it does not load pass the login screen. I’ve tried calling for technical support and they do not have an IT support person to help troubleshoot the problem.
Not only am I getting charged 10% interest on my loan, but I cant even pay off these mother fkrs because their auto pay doesn’t work!! Can’t even add a payment method. Waste of time
I can never get past the login process. I enter my username and password, get prompted on how I would like to receive my 2fa code, submit, receive code, enter the code, submit, and spinning wheel of death. Never able to access my account via the app. I go online to the webpage, follow the exact same steps and have zero problems. The app is a waste of time and space on my phone. I have tried multiple times with new versions after they’re released and get the same results.
Downloaded app. Crested username and password, but keeps giving me an error message…oops! Something happened…I deleted the app, reinstalled, and still the same message comes up. Frustrating.
Terrible app. Nothing works. Payment will not work or even show you the amount due. It’s all just completely blank. I had to delete the app just to get it to work as it’s prompted me to enter a code in test flight to operate it. College ave, have your IT team do an update to fix these bugs.
