Exactly what I wanted

All of the other apps out there have so much extra fluff, are packed with ads, have annoying pop ups, requests to sign up/subscribe... this has none of that. If you pay you get more widgets but it has everything I want and isn’t weighed down with extra crap. The only thing I’d add is a custom color picker. Update: I actually just upgraded to the paid version. The app was fully functional even before the upgrade. No annoying popup ads, it had what I wanted, and was enjoyable without feeling like it was only half an app. Because I appreciated that I decided to get the pro version. It has a few extra features like more countdowns and layouts, but it’s more like a perk (and one I’ll enjoy and gladly indulge in to support such a great developer).

Wow!

Being able to see an event countdown in the ways that this allows me to has done wonders for the anxiety I often get when I have something coming up. My favorite is the one with the vertical bars! Being able to see a visual representation of how much time has passed, and how much time is left, in graph form is a mental relief! I decided to purchase this app within 5 minutes of downloading it after seeing all of the customization options! It is the perfect count down app for how my brain works. And THANK GOD it’s not a subscription! Pay for it once, and it’s YOURS! Thank you so much! I also have a suggestion for an idea: You could add a widget that has an hour glass graphic that slowly empties as the time counts down. Or even a flower that slowly blooms as it counts down.

Great App - Highly Reccomend

First of all, I absolutely love this app. It’s so simple and easy to use, which is really nice. Also, I like how you can unlock everything for just $4. None of those stupid memberships that you constantly have to renew. And in my opinion, I think paying to unlock everything was worth it. I love knowing exactly how long until an event/holiday, so I definitely like this. Also, a few suggestions: Maybe add an option to do custom gradients for the background? Like, instead of gradient automatically making it go one color dark to light, you could make it be a gradient with two colors. I also think it would be fun if you could make the background of your widget a GIF. And I think you should have an option to have an event automatically repeat once it’s been reached.

Worth it

Love the app! I have another type of countdown app that I love, but it doesn't have a widget option and this one does. App works great, no bugs encountered yet. I hardly ever get anything other than free apps, but the one-time payment for this was worth it for me. I primarily use this to track release dates for books I’ve preordered, so it it extra fun that I am able to add background images tailored to each countdown. Those background images are able to be seen in the widgets too, which is awesome. The ability to change countdown types, color, text, and more is definitely worth it. Overall, 5/5, love the app (free and paid versions), and the ability to make good, easy to understand widgets is what sold it for me.

Worked great until…

I’ll start by saying I love this app. It knows it has one job to do and it does it well. The interface is intuitive and focused. I can have multiple counters, can choose from multiple templates, use custom background images and most of all, add as a widget so I can see all my countdowns, simultaneously, at a glance. UNTIL recently when my “most of all” feature broke. The widgets appear blank. And I can add new ones anymore. I’m hoping this gets fixed soon or I may have to seek elsewhere. p.s. I know some of the features I listed are part of the paid product but the purchase was a no-brainer. It’s worth the price of a side of fries. Update! As of 27 June, the widgets are working again! 😊

Fun and useful

I have been using this app for about two years, and I really like it! I use the count up function to keep track of my children’s ages. That may sound funny, but when your children get up into their 20s and 30s, sometimes it’s really difficult to remember. I also use it to Countdown important events, like a significant upcoming financial transaction, or a vacation that I’m really looking forward to. You can customize the look of each counter, and then set them up as a smart widget on your phone so you can page through your selected counters counters without actually opening the app. I would definitely say this app has given me value for the money spent.

Really good - needs a couple of things

****Update 7/31 App crashes and won’t work after reinstall. I paid for the full version a few years ago and have been using it since. This is very frustrating as I have milestone dates that I can’t find now!!!! No response from the developer. Original review: I would have given direct feedback Roy he developer but there isn’t an option for feature suggestions and when you try and contact support it opens the Mail app rather than my default email app which is Outlook. I would like the ability to arrange the order of my Events however I like instead of the only two options which are “order of event” and “date modified.” Honestly why would someone even desire to have the order based on date modified. The other thing it needs is the ability to create hidden/private events. A lot of people use apps like this to track private behavioral health milestones.

Looks good at a fair price

In a world where everyone thinks they deserve recurring subscription fees (and I think there’s definitely a time and a place for them), the devs have put out a solid, attractive, simple countdown app at a very reasonable one-time cost. I am currently using a different one but I went ahead and paid for this just to support them and keep an eye on development. The fifth star and possible usage might come if they implement more widgets, and particularly ones that 1) show more than one event at a time, and 2) come in the large size. My current favorite app does both of these and I like having the option to see multiple things at one glance. That said, making a stack of singular widgets is a great alternative if that works for you.

Makes counting down easier

I downloaded Countdown to (you guessed it), countdown to a reunion. Although not shortly after, I started using it for so much more. You can count up and count down, add pictures for each “countdown” so it can be more personal and fun, and when you complete a date you’ve set it stays in the set of countdowns marked as “completed,” I enjoy this because it gives you serotonin to see progress on ‘paper’ Great app overall. I use it mainly to countdown to the end of deployment, and if you relate that type of situation; this does help. Honesty though, anyone could use this for whatever they’d like and it would be enjoyable. Highly recommend.

Great design & features, no funny business

My old countdown app, Day Zero, finally stopped working on the latest iOS update, so I waded into the App Store searching for a replacement. Been using this for a few days now — it has lots of well-designed features (including Lock Screen widgets), other thoughtful details, and responsive developers. Plus, if you look at the app privacy disclosures for some of the other countdown apps, you might raise an eyebrow about what kind of info they’re sharing about you. This app is much more straightforward about what you’re paying for: a great countdown app! Happily paid for the in-app purchase to unlock all the features.

More Useful Than I Expected!

I thought this would be an amusing little app, but as it turns out, I actually use it! A lot. It’s simple and quick to create new countdowns, yet there are enough settings to keep things interesting. Plus it’s just really useful. I’ve started using it for all sorts of reminders, even dedicating a whole screen on my phone for the widgets. I haven’t had any glitches or issues. If I had one request, however, I would like a separate section for completed countdowns. I like to keep them, I just would like to keep them separate from the active countdowns on the main screen of the app. Thank you!

The most important application in your life

This app WILL keep you on track and significantly reduce your anxiety for future tasks. I use to only rely on a calendar with set time schedules, but relying on the clock itself wasn’t enough. This application allows me to view my upcoming tasks from a countdown perspective, which allows me to adjust current tasks to fit within the countdown. Small things like having the option to change the app icon, widget theme (also an option to have one on your Lock Screen), and light/dark/system application theme makes this application a must-have for those with “busy schedules”.

Was great until recently (updated)

Edit: works great again! Definitely the best free one in the App Store I downloaded a bunch of free countdown apps and this was definitely the best looking and easiest to use. I’ve been using it for a few weeks for a game I play where every few hours you can collect and item, and I’ve never had a problem resetting the time. Now suddenly the times won’t update to what they say in the app unless the widget is readded. The timer still work so I’ll see if this gets fixed, and if it does I’ll change to 5 stars, but if not I’ll have to delete for one of the other apps I tried that weren’t as good as this one used to be

I use it all the time!

I love this app. I am a huge planner and I love seeing what upcoming events or vacations I have in the future. It makes it easy to look forward to them and makes time fly by. I made the one-time purchase of the add-on to have unlimited countdowns as well. One thing that I love about this app is that you can customize your countdown backgrounds with images from your photo gallery. It makes them so pretty, especially with all the design layouts and fonts. I love that the app creator seems to consistently put out app updates. I hope it stays this way.

Deserves more attention

There are so many extremely ugly countdown apps on the App Store, and I had to comb through just about all of them to find one that looks good and does its job elegantly. If you’re looking for an app (and widget, and watch complication) that achieves these two goals, this is the one you want. Easy to use, pleasant to look at, customizable without a UI that’s needlessly overdesigned, no subscription, and a developer that’s receptive to feedback too. (I emailed them a request about the Watch complication design, and it was there in the next update.)

Add New Features

My Company has me calculate a due (inspection check) date every day on each piece of equipment. This tells us if we have to pull an item out of service from the equipment being inspected. Example: it is less than the 150 days, 75 days, 60 days and/or 30 days etc. The widget due date should always move from todays date/time in real time. When the item falls within the date time action is required to remove and replace the item or defer the item to be replaced before the (drop dead) due date. Many items have multiple due inspection dates too so I need a widget for each date/time or a widget that calculates multiple (drop dead) due dates. Can you make this in your app/widget program ? Let me know when you will make this happen…or I will move on to another app.

Poor Execution

I love the app at first glance, but the widgets do not automatically update. The widgets on my Home Screen were stuck in the countdown for more than 2 days before I removed them. I had an event planned that was a little more than 5 days away when I moved the widget to my home screen, two days past and it was still 5 days away. Another event that happens daily was stuck at 53 minutes. When I attempted to add the same countdowns back to the home screen they were stuck with the same amount of time left until the event. When I navigate into the app, the countdowns work perfectly. The whole reason I paid for the application was to get unlimited widgets and expected them to update accordingly.

Multiple Widgets

I don’t know why people are saying you can only have one widget at a time... I just paid for it and already made 2 countdowns for my phone. Birthday on one page and weigh in day on my sexond page. Just make sure to add them to your phones screens after each creation. Don’t make them all in the app and then try to add them because it will only show the most recent. But if you add them as you go you can have as many as you want. Please make large widgets next!

I think it’s great! But..

So, I think this is a good app. But the thing that bothers me is that you have to PAY 4$ just so you can add another count down thing! And that rlly annoys me, I’ll tell you why..basically the first reason is that it shouldn’t have to be 4$ just to add another slot :/ and I mean that’s it but it would prob be better to update so you can add ATLEAST 3 slots and then that would be the limit! But over all I think this app is great and it can remind you about important stuff. 🤗 but again I would like it if you wouldn’t have to pay money for a second slot 🤔

Countdown+ is a +ofaCountdown App

Day 1 Hour 1 Minute 1 - I give it FiveStars. In practically no time I had set up my first countdown to our country's next big historical event, November 5, 2024. I can hardly wait! I have a feeling that this is going to be a pretty cool app. The clock is ticking. That's for sure. Opportunity is approaching for the majority of us, and for the rest, time is running out. Ain't that the way it's supposed to go? I'll let you know how it turns out, but for now this FiveStar+ Taptics App is ticking down to a wave of good things to come. If everyone had it, no one would ever miss the big event.

Highly customizable! But best of all, it’s not a subscription model!

I love this app. The attention to detail, the customizations. The fluid animation and polish. Great job to the developers! I downloaded to test out, and just find something I could use as a quick countdown, even to just use what was available for free. Within a few minutes I knew this was an app I wanted to support and get the premium version - highly customizable. Clean designs, and best of all. It’s not a subscription base model! Well deserved!

My Mistake!

Do I feel stupid! Apparently, I didn’t understand widgets as well as I thought I did. The developer was kind enough to reply to my review & set me straight. Upped my review to 5 stars. I’d give at least 1 more if I could for the speed & detail of the app maker’s response. Hope to see more from these guys. Thank you. ———— Thank goodness I read the reviews before purchasing. 2 major faults in this app: 1) Apparently, you can only display 1 widget at a time. 🙁 If you want to display more than 1, buy another app. 2) Developer does not disclose this information. Sample views imply multiple countdowns onscreen at one time. Seems a bit dishonest, don’t ya think?! Rather an important issue mention in the description. 😠 Otherwise, this would be a 5-star app. Sleek app design. Plenty of options for a simple widget. Perfect for me & well worth the price.

Countdown app

I like the app and paid for the customization, which I like. It’s a very straightforward easy to use app. I’d really like a bigger widget to show more than one countdown at once. I can’t find a single app to do this. If I can’t have 1 widget with multiple countdowns at once I wish I could add more than one widget to my home screen. The App Store photos made me think that I could but you can only have 1 countdown widget up at a time and can switch between the countdowns you have set up. But again, would like to see multiple countdowns at the same time on my home screen.

Disappointed

I wanted to like this app, as it offered many customization options but in the end I deleted it, regretfully, after paying for the full version. The main reason is because after creating several “countdowns” the widget would not display the event approaching the soonest, regardless of setting. It only displayed the “countdown” that was created first, although this countdown was weeks away but another countdown was happening sooner. This makes no sense and defeats the purpose of this kind of app. Second, and equally as important, the developer has refused to respond to my questions, therefore, I will not use this app any longer and have requested a refund from Apple.

Good app!

I have had this app for over a year doing a countdown on my Home Screen, and the widget has been performing very well! The only challenge I have is the lack of a back button in navigating the app; perhaps it is there and I just missed it, but I have been having to close the app each time I want to get out of looking at settings or press something that prompts purchasing Countdown+. Not a huge deal, but can get cumbersome when setting a widget. That said, once the widget is set, it does a great job of sustaining!

This is the count down app I’ve been looking for

Short version: this app is really, really good. Highly recommend. Long version: Want to count down to an event? This app can do that. Want to track days since an event? It can do that too. Want widgets? Yep. Want a good looking, intuitive interface? It’s here. It took me wading through numerous apps to find this one, but I did. The developer has already released new updates in the short time I’ve had the app, so that’s good to see.

Doesn’t require in app purchases

I tried some of the other countdown apps but they required purchasing the “+” version or whatever they call it to show my widget on my Home Screen. This one allows me a widget on the Home Screen for no cost. There is a “+” version that unlocks some more functionality within the app but it is no necessary. Also, as other reviews have said, there is no fluff in this app it’s the widget and nothing extra.

PLEASE ADD

5 star review, bought the add on to customize timers. Great app all around. However I think a great thing to add would be the ability to have a box to check to have some timers restart automatically, say you have one for your pills every morning or your paycheck each week, have the ability to automatically reset so you don’t have to go into the app each time a timer ticks down and have to reset it. Thank you for making an amazing app!

The Perfect Countdown App

I’ve tried a lot of countdown apps, but this is the only one I’ve stuck with. It’s easy to use, attractive, and the developer attests that they don’t collect any data. That last one is a big one in my book—too many simple apps collect tracking data they don’t need! Even though it’s perfectly usable in its free form, buying the one time IAP unlocks great features and supports the developer. Highly recommended!

Good but there is better

So I got this app when I got a boyfriend to see how long we’ve been dateing and that works just fine but other apps have more options for people who don’t pay. Like what I can only make one maybe let us “non payers” get three or something. And I always have this basic looking one can tih come up with more for us?!? Also how do you put a widget on your Lock Screen? It’s great and all but I’m not paying for a countdown app that is supposed to help me not steal money from me. I hope you understand my point and try to change it!

Fantastic App!

It’s so nice to have a happy reminder of upcoming special events/visits every time I look on my phone. Trips, events and especially when my daughter is coming home on leave! Countdown Buddy has run flawlessly for me on all of the phones I’ve upgraded to. Never any ads or harassment. I appreciate it so much and never want to use anything else, so I purchased it after years of running the free version! Thank you!

Pretty solid app

I love this app! I use it to countdown bill reminders. The only features I would love to see is 1) the ability to always have the widgets in countdown order on the home screens. Rather than random countdowns. Also from the Home Screen, when you press the widget, that particular countdown widget should open. Instead it just opens to the app and you have to search through all your widgets to find the one you were trying to open. Again, love this app just wish it were a little more user friendly.

GET THIS ONE

I’ve literally downloaded like 5 previous apps trying to get a simple widget on my iphone home screen. they all made me sign up yada yada then when I go to add them they say I have to UPGRADE & pay money to actually use it…. i was so annoyed UNTIL i found this app. Super simple, friendly, & easy to use!!!!! definitely worth the hassle of trying to find it. Really Good Countdown App

This app is by far the best I tried. I love being able to use my own pictures and customize a lot of things. I liked it so much, I paid for it. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was that I was hoping with the paid version that I’d be able to do more things like customize the font and change other things about the text. The main reason to upgrade is to have more than 2 count downs which wasn’t what I was expecting.

I really want to like this app

So far, this app in terms of design is my favorite. I like the ability to customize and the overall simple designs without being cheesy. However, the reason I’m only giving it three stars is because my widget just stopped updating—it defeats the entire purpose of having the app. When I open the app, it has the correct number of days left but the widget on my home screen stopped updating three days prior. The only way I was able to fix it was by deleting the widget and re-adding it to my home screen. Please fix this!

So much potential but timing details…

The app is really thoughtfully designed and in many ways my favorite countdown. The thing is, there needs to be much more detailed controls and thoughtfulness put into the meat of the app: the actual countdown mechanism! For example the smallest “unit” toggle for several of the countdown styles is days. So when there is 1 day + 22 hours left, the timer falsely says “1 day” on Sunday when the event is Tuesday. I would love to revise this to a 5 star review but the mechanics of day / hour settings really need ironing out. Thanks!

Countdown Widget Perfection

I am not widely known for spending the extra money to get the “pro” version of apps. However, this was the best 4 bucks I’ve spent on any app. The customization that it opens up is great. I was surprised to see how it aligned with my phones built in image options, and it allows you to place several widgets/countdowns (or count from). Point is, it’s worth the 4 bucks if you are on the fence.

Simply indispensable

I’m losing my mind in my old age. Reminders is a great app for near term to-do lists but for those tasks that need chipping away at for weeks and months, this is a lifesaver. I’m not a project manager nor do I have the patience for complicated PM programs. This is something simple. A widget on my phone reminds me of long term goals I’m working on every time I take a call, read a text, or play a game. It’s brilliant.

Perfect, simple countdown widget/app

This is a perfect, simple little iOS widget/app to count down to events or dates (it generates an appealing little iPhone widget if selected). It is easy to use with good customization options; has excellent privacy policies (no un-necessary tracking, etc.); is not ad-based; seems to be frequently updated; and has a small one-time (not a subscription) fee. Recommended.

The app os soooo good if you purchase the four dollar one time subscription. even if you do not purchase the four dollar one time subscription, it is also an amazing app you can just only have one subscription but I love this app. you can literally do as many as you want the opposite so good I don’t see anything wrong with it and it replaces your regular boring reminders.

So glad I found it!!!

I have a once in a lifetime trip coming up and have been wanting a countdown to add to my home screen but most of the apps make you pay to just add the widget, but not this one!! For free you can add the widget change the color of the background or add a photo, it gives you so much that other apps won’t give without having to pay money! I love it!!!

Amazing app

This app is amazing and I’ve used it for about a year, the design is original and organized. I’ve mainly used it to let me know when my holiday is and when I start back work after, I love the way I can use images as the background and the many of fonts I can use. Overall 20/10 would definitely recommend!!

No regrets

It’s a simple but very intuitive and what I need app. I am in a LDR so the countdowns I have to seeing my partner are really great to keep my moral up and I enjoy having the widgets on my home pages. Wish I could pick my widgets a bit easy vs it can only add the most recently made one but I usually only make one event at a time anyways. Going to start using it also as my 75 Soft counter.

Allows you a widget for free

I was trying to have a countdown I could put on my Lock Screen and every app I tried said you had to pay for widgets. There is a plus version that just lets you further customize the widget and adds an additional few features that are not necessary for a basic countdown widget. Perfect, just what I needed!

should have weeks

I overall love this app, easy and simple to use. Paid the few dollars for the plus version, which is a one time payment and really not bad at all unlike other apps that want you to pay a subscription. Only caveat is this App doesnt say weeks in its count down it just bumps up the number of days

The least bad option

All I wanted was a very simple app with a decent UI that I didn’t have to pay for to get a countdown widget. This is the only one out of the five apps i’ve downloaded that actually delivers that. It’s still frustrating just How Much is behind a paywall which is why this review is not five stars, but for what I wanted it is plenty good enough and it’s the only one I’ve tried that even comes close.

Widget/App wont load/open

I love this app have been using it since iOS14 came out. Suddenly today the app wont load or open, same thing with the widget. Im not sure why as I never had any problem with it before. Other than that I would recommend this app if you are looking for a widget style countdown with nice customization options!

Almost perfect

One of the best countdown apps visually speaking. My only complaint is the way they seem to round down the days. For example if I want to know how many days until payday on Friday, and today is Monday, it will always say 3 days. It should say 4 days. I need to add a day get this app to work. It makes more sense when I switch to a format that ALSO counts hours so then it says 3 days 10hrs which makes sense. But no one counts down that way. Please allow us to change this!
