Listen if “you work” you can leave with a really decent car. Of course it’s up to you to find a car suitable for your needs. But the process is just as easy as you can imagine. I went with my friend to get a car and there was a huge selection, we got to test drive the cars. We were there for about 6 hrs but it felt like an hour. Do your “do diligence” try and get the best deal. But overall I’m very satisfied.
They start spam texting and calling you literally the moment you install the app. Made the huge mistake of thinking this was an option for looking at cars without having annoying conversations with salespeople and instead they are blowing up my phone now and I can’t even get away by leaving the lot. App search works okay but can’t look for anything over 150k miles. The “your cost” thing needs all your info re-entered every single time you switch pages or apps, very clunky. Meanwhile the financing terms say they’re based on a monthly income of $3100 because “the majority of our customers are mistaken about their income.” Except I’m not and my monthly income is not that high!
The app along with drive time on IOS is the best simple, easy to use format so far!!! I was able to schedule appointment and get my Jeep all the same day. The app showed the monthly payment and adjusted to down payment!!! Great service too at the Dallas I20 location.
Don’t sign up unless you’re serious about buying a car
I made the mistake of not reading the fine print and within a minute of me signing up they were calling me. So if you want to buy a car quickly, by all means sign up, just be warned that they will relentlessly contact you until you either go into the chat and request that you don’t be contacted anymore or you buy something from them.
They say on the app you will get approval and down payment amount. None of this is true. They connect you with some random dealer nearby and by what I’ve read they are usually the shady ones. They do a pull on your credit and give no information on what you qualify for or down payment amount and say you need to go to the dealership that I’m sure pays a small subscription for the service which they are going to pull your credit again multiple times. Not a trustworthy app or a company and I’d imagine a good portion of the 5 star reviews are fake.
I am currently browsing around for a new car. I signed up for this app a week ago to look at their selection of cars. Little did I know I would be bombarded with 5+ calls a day asking to speak about my options. I asked they multiple times to stop calling and that I am just browsing but they do not take no for an answer. It has come to the point where I get woken up at 7 am with 2+ calls about my credit. Don’t put your information into this app. I suggest CARFAX as it’s a lot more reliable and won’t spam call you.
I currently have a car that’s paid off thought about getting a truck I’m just window shopping I just wanted to see my down payment but I decided not to run my credit I hit the cancel button and did not proceed to agree with the terms and conditions now all the sudden I’m getting phone calls and harassed by dealerships let me make myself clear never ever put any email or phone number into any website if you want to do business with people go to the place directly. They deserve zero stars
As soon as you give them basic information they do a credit pull. Not a single warning that it’s going to be a pull, soft or hard. Every car I seen was overpriced and third partied through known scamming dealerships. Also getting spammed with automated calls and emails from them along with a ‘coincidental’ influx of spam calls about debt collection. I barely have a credit score I can’t even manage to get into debt to be collected. PS. None of the high reviews seemed real and once you look a little all of the reviews start being 1 star
The app auto refreshes every few seconds. You have to enter in your information literally every time you change screens. They will call you constantly and ignore your requests to remove you from their lists. On top of all that - it’s completely pointless. They have zero vehicles of even the same make I’m looking within 250 miles of me. Vehicles only go up to $35k. It’s just a terrible app and it’s clear they don’t care about being a legitimate auto app. DO NOT DOWNLOAD!!
Thought about using this app as I’ve seen so many commercials on it. I opened the app and it had an application to fill in my name, phone number, and social security number. I only input my name and phone number and hesitated at the social. I went to read reviews before I did so and submitted. I NEVER submitted my info. They have bombarded me with calls and texts in a matter of hours. Definitely not a good app. How can they take my info before I even submit anything or agree to be contacted??
Within 12 hours of signing up I received several emails and a phone call. Too much for me. We were also looking for a specific make and model and year and mileage which really restricted our options on this platform. Good for customers who don’t mind being bombarded by emails and calls and who are considering a variety of makes and models!
I downloaded this app and entered in my information. I did one search. Shortly after I had every shady dealership in Southern California calling me telling me I was approved and my car was ready for pickup. When I told them I wasn’t interested they got mad and asked why did I apply for the car. Worst case experience I’ve had. Today I have told multiple dealerships to take me off their calling list. I I seriously feel like this is a scam to procure and sell your information more than anything.
I downloaded the app because my dad mentioned it would be a good idea to look into. I opened it, looked into ONE car on the entire app, and put in very minimal information. I started to sign up to get info but realizing I didn’t remember my SSN I canceled the process. Since then I have gotten 9 calls from this company. 7 from the corporate office, 2 from the dealership near me. I think this is absolutely ridiculous, and should not have happened. I’m sorry to the poor manager at the dealership that I lost it on, but this companies solicitation was extreme.
Easily one of the better car shopping experiences I’ve used. I had to rate given how fast and easy the application process was. Knowing I’m already approved and what I can afford upfront has made searching for a car much more realistic and easy.
Sure the commercials guarantee a quote without credit check, which is fair and true. HOWEVER what they don’t say is immediately after you give them said info required (in lieu of a credit check) they start spamming your phone with messages, phone calls and of course voicemails. When I answer to tell them I’m just looking, they get rude and hang up. All of this defeats the purpose of the which being the no interaction type of purchase.
They use Bridge Crest Financial for loan options. I love this place they don’t pressure you or anything. I bought a 2011 Hyundai Accent several years ago and their service plan. Excellent car ran great & now it’s time for a new car. So I’m back
This was quick, easy and for a low price, I can’t believe it took me this long to try this. If anyone is looking for a great low down payment I would definitely recommend trying this app and don’t wait as long as I did to try it. Hurry up!!!
It’s a little annoying when you go and see what your down payment is and then you go off to look for a car and it resets your down payment to where to have to refill out an application to see what the down payment was or if you find a car you like it still wants you to fill out an application because once again it doesn’t save you application or down payment it’s just annoying
Too bad the closest dealership they have is in an entirely different state and the only way I could visit it is if I were to take a week off from work and spend hundreds maybe even thousands of dollars taking a chance to visit in hopes of driving off the lot in my new car. Nope, uh uh not worth the money or time! Maybe determine which markets a person is in and only release the app is those markets.
Filled out my application for approval and I literally got approved less than 5 minutes. All I need is the down payment and I can purchase my car! 💓💋very fast process.
Once you download the app, one of the first things you see is a check box allowing them to give out your information. I ran into this with a similar app and I had car dealers blowing up my email, phone and texts for months. Now you know what you’re getting into; choose wisely.
You’re not doing anything different with this app then sitting with a salesman. If your buying a can and increase the down payment guess what, the principal reduces and so does the monthly nut! Now if you just like talking to your phone like most of the post gen Xers then this is the way to buy a car. Otherwise just stick to your gaming and don’t worry about buying a car.
Apparently Bridgecrest (the bank they currently finance everyone through) has a policy against trying to take out another auto loan with them within a one year period. All my payments are made on time, but I guess that does not matter. Warning, you may think you are pre approved with their randomly generated down payment calculator, but it’s just that, randomly generated. Complete waste of time.
Do not overlook the words “as low as” when obtaining an online quote for down payment and monthly payment. Those numbers change when you get to the dealership.
I applied for a 2017 Compass right from the website and the vehicle link that said “get your down payment.” I applied and it said your down payment is $195 and your monthly payment is $425 per month.” When I speak with my sale rep now the down payment is more. Why couldn’t they just be honest?
I’ve downloaded about 25 used/new car apps and this is by far the worst. First off it does not automatically format to your iPad. You can expand the screen but really? It’s difficult to access the search options on the right of the app. Even using the arrows is a hassle. Over all I’m not impressed. Too many other apps out there to mess with one that is not simple to use.
downloaded this app just to check it out and read through all the fine print, no where does it tell you that they do a hard pull on your credit. When the sales people started calling non stop I let one know I was interested. He then told me they did a hard pull on my credit, and when I was upset he was very rude about it and eventually hung up. Not a pleasant experience at all.
So far so good. I just downloaded the app but haven’t went through the purchasing process yet. I just wish you could star the options that you like so you can remember which ones your interested in.
While looking for a car I knew I didn’t want a vehicle that had been in an accident. The staff at DriveTime ensured that the car had not been and and showed me a report staying so. When looking to trade the car in the dealership pulled the vin and showed me where it had indeed been in an accident and had water damage too. I feel cheated and defeated! And I’m stuck paying for this car now.
There are 0 cars for sale anywhere near me. There is no way to prevent them from selling my personal info unless you live in California. This is not necessarily a scam but they are probably making more money from selling personal info than selling cars. There are much much better ways to buy a car.
I’ve purchased a car from DriveTime in which others gave me the run around. DriveTime got the deal done and me in a car! Great service! Thanks DriveTime!
Drive time ruined me , my credit , my finance .. and im just being honest . So i hope they keep this up .. great cars and great deals .. if your paying cash .. but horrible for first time buyers . Dont ever go to drive time unless you go with an expert. If you dont want to pay for a car worth 8k for 10 years . Which eventually turn into 40k . Point being dont ruin your life before it start
Do not download this app unless you plan on buying a car specifically from them I made that mistake and from the moment I put my number in I got 5-10 calls everyday to the point I had to ask to get taken off the call list. They would text and email and it was just way too much.
The app is just a way to schedule and appointment not one piece of information they tell you is true it’s all a lie to get you to come in! Nothing the quote u on is the actual quote the re do everything when u come in it’s all a lie. False advertisement is illegal. And you tv commercials clearly state bad credit still gets approved. It’s a lie don’t believe it
Leased a vehicle through them. About a week after driving off the lot the trucks blinkers, windshield wipers, brights, horn, steering wheel and steering wheel column all started to give out. The insurance company was a hassle and I had to pay out of pocket. Do not use DriveTime unless you do the test drive then take it to a dealer to have it inspected then bring back the paperwork to DriveTime .
they said i passed for no money down, drove over 150 miles to look at cars, when i arrived and sat down for the paperwork they said i didn’t make enough money to purchase a car,i had talked to someone before i came and told them i was on ssi and how much i made a month and she lied to me and said they could help me to make a appointment,so i had to find someone to take me there,i spent money for gas to go there only for them to lie to me and broke my heart, i thought i would finally have a car of my own to drive to doctor visits without having to take the buses
If not for the fact that this app doesn’t keep you logged in and that I have to re enter my info every time I would give 5 stars I do love the fact it gives you your down payment and monthly payment but why doesn’t it save my info so I don’t have to keep putting it in.
I’ve had this app for maybe two days and they’ve been harassing me with phone calls. I spoke with a representative last night and specifically told her not to call me, that I would call if I was interested after that they called at 8am on a Saturday, TWICE. I don’t recommend trusting them with your real phone number.
