I am 54 and have sensitive dry dull skin. I’m a Sun Lover! I recently ordered the entire Holy Hydration line and was pleasantly surprised with the results. Don’t get me wrong my lines haven’t disappeared however my skin for the first time in several years has a dewy glow and most importantly I didn’t break out!!! I just ordered the youth serum w/ retinol. I’ll give that a review after a few weeks. On another note I got a few lip liners, the plumping pout pens and satin lipstick. I couldn’t be more pleased. They are better than my Kylie & Mac lip kits 😝 Creamy lip liner ( easy to sharpen) soft ,creamy , glossy lips 👄 I literally went to Walmart and bought 3 of the pinky put since they are sold out on the app and Ulta. I will also mention I bought the hydrating camo foundation and the color didn’t match. They immediately refunded me ( I gifted the product) and was able to find the appropriate shade. Great customer service!!
I downloaded the elf app again after a year, and I can definitely see a difference. Things are running smoother than they used to. It can actually function without closing or glitching out within 5 minutes of use. I will say though, the user interface is still poor. While everything seems to hold together better, there’s some features that’s could be added. For instance: the app doesn’t seem to register the fact that I have given it my email about 4 times already. So when I want to be notified about a product being back in stock, I have to constantly put in that email. Most apps will save it to your account and link it some sort of way, so that the user isn’t always putting in the same information over and over. The reaction times for tapping buttons is slow as well. You can tell it’s rendering it and having a hard time keeping up. I’m not sure what’s up with that, but it is slow and patchy. To be honest, I’m not even mad about it, because it’s still improvement from where I first saw it. And I’m really proud of how far it’s come, proud of the people putting work into it. I notice and appreciate that.
Overall I like this app but there are a few minor improvements that could be made. •When I try to do certain things to earn points (such as using the primer finder or browsing e.l.f discovery & e.l.f cares) it won’t give me the points after completing it. However, when I switch to the website and do them from there, it does work and gives me the points. •Some reviews on the app won’t show up, but they will show up if I use the website. •I’ve actually written a review but I’ve never gotten points for it and I’ve even “confirmed” it when they sent me an email asking to do so…. •I add things to my wishlist on the app, but it doesn’t save them when I go back and try to view it. I think the positives outweigh the negatives in this app but if y’all could work on these issues, that’d be great. I really like how this app is so easy to navigate unlike some others that are complicated. I appreciate that there is a points system to help with saving $$ and that you can scan receipts if needed. But my utmost favorite thing about e.l.f is that the products are cruelty free!! That is so important to me 🐾 Thank you 🩵
I have bought over hundreds of dollars from elf in the past year. Since they closed their stores, I figured the receipt scanner would be a good way to get points for purchasing their products outside of the app. The receipt scanner only lets you upload a square sized picture in certain image formats like jpeg. I don’t know what retail receipts are square shaped. I uploaded 6 different receipts which I put on a black background to crop the photo to a square while still getting everything important on the receipt into the photo upload. I never received points so I emailed support and was given an automated response saying my uploads were rejected. I was given no reason why they were rejected. I would have been okay with the response if it had come a day or two after my receipt uploads were rejected, but the fact that I spent time emailing support to receive no answer or advice seems unfair. I would love to support elf but getting no rewards for in store purchases because the app is messed up, makes other brands with free shipping seem like the only route to purchase cosmetics from now on.

When I first won a gift card, I downloaded the app because on Google or safari, it made no sense and was so hard to use. I downloaded the app and it’s so easy to use everything is at the tip of your finger and there’s no weird screen movements unlike on the web. Now, the tiny thing I do hate is that I can’t see the estimated time delivery so it’s kind of a surprise when it comes which I love, but I just bought the bronzing drops and I want to know when they come so I use my saie bronzing drops in a safe way so I don’t use a lot since I’m running out. Anyways that’s all and I also love the stories they have so you have a preview of new products. That’s it and I love E.L.F so much, byeee
I don’t know if anyone else is having this issue. But I only had the app installed for 3 days before uninstalling. Every I added more than 5 items to the cart, the app would delete them. It’s one thing if items are out of stock. But it deleted everything. Every brush. Every cleanser. Every eyeliner that I added was deleted. Repeatedly and almost immediately. I’d leave the cart with 9 items to shop in another section. I looked down at the little shopping bag icon and the number changed from 9 to 6 to 5. I couldn’t remember everything that I had chosen. I tried again the next day. Same thing happened with completely different items this time. Again, I couldn’t remember the exact items I needed because most of them were new items I’d never purchased before. So I filled the cart. Clicked on the cart and only had 2 items in there instead of 11. The website was doing weird stuff too. On the 3rd day, I uninstalled and went to Ulta instead. And you lost business, Elf. Because some of the items I was trying to purchase from you are not sold at Ulta. So I chose other brands.

I ordered something from their website a few days ago, so I figured I would get the app to look at more items and possibly track my order. There are so many problems with this app. It’s so glitchy. My biggest problem is every 5-30 seconds it goes out of the app and switches to Pinterest for some reason and signs me out of my account every time I go back into the app. I can hardly operate the app enough to sign in because I keep being directed to Pinterest and half of the time it doesn’t even register that you’re pressing the buttons?! Also, my order didn’t switch over to my account- it says I have no order history when I’d just ordered from them the previous night. If it’s the same account shouldn’t it have the same data?? I’ve deleted it and am starting to regret creating an account or ordering from them at all. Because of their unreliable and barely-functioning website I’m wondering if their delivery is unreliable too. This is doing terrible things for your business Elf.
I officially believe ELF is the most amazing make up with some of the smartest people working for them, Keeping their products, affordable, and top quality. I recently went to Ulta and Sephora. I had spent over $4000 at Ulta and 2500 at Sephora where I bought all the top makeup brands and trends. ELF still is My favorite brand I have a 12 year old daughter and I promised her I would get, every piece of make up and we will do a test together, can wait to share me teaching my 12-year-old to wear a affordable make up improve to her. She does not have to spend thousands of dollars. Only one complaint I wish you guys would Drop new brands as they come out in local drugstore or Walmart, we always have to drive an hour and a half away to a ULTA store !
The virtual try on feature is useless for selecting shades. All shades of foundations, concealers, bronzers, etc.; looked very similar and “doable (with some light blending)” on my skin. I tried the lightest of shades through the darkest of shades using the virtual feature and ALL of them made me look pretty great. I selected the shade that I personally thought looked the best during the virtual try on and purchased that exact shade from a local store. Let me tell ya, I didn’t feel pretty. I know that I should’ve taken pics to post, but I was too busy laughing and trying to not pee myself and I forgot to. Trust the “process” if you need a good laugh, but don’t put your money on the virtual results. P.S., I did forget to mention that I am a huge fan of all E.L.F. products. I have never been disappointed with the quality or the price of their products and I highly recommend them!

This app is beyond the make up app you can ever use. It helps me find the exact type of makeup I want to use and make sure that it’s good for my skin texture and they won’t break me out because it’s not an app where you can’t find something you’re looking for and if you were looking for something, I guarantee you will be right there and all the products are cruelty free no harm to any animals in this world they do not do that. Maybe the foundation and a few other stuff can be on the expensive side but overall I really recommend it because it’s worth your money, don’t pay for it if you don’t have money, but I’m telling you it’s really worth your money so yeah
Hands down the most beautiful satin foundation for mature skin. Does not sit in lines. Beautiful finish. I am always looking for affordable products that have great results. I was very impressed when I opened the box- this product has a luxurious look and feel like an expensive foundation. It light, sheer and has a skin like coverage which is exactly what I love! I want my foundation to make my skin even, without having a thick texture, so I can go in where I need with concealer. This achieves that perfectly and I am very impressed! The shade match is also excellent. When I first swatched it on my hand, it looked a little rosy but once blended in onto skin it melted in and looked so natural. Overall, the results are wonderful!

I love the quality of the products that I have bought this far and I have bought many. Some aren’t for my style but but it’s always fun to try other techniques and styles. Experts are right there to point you in the right direction too which is always handy and customer service responds quickly if there’s a shipment problem. I’ve just never had such a wonderful variety of products and personal service at the same place. I give 4 stars because the app isn’t always so easy to work with. Sometimes it freezes up completely or it completely forgets everything I liked or put in my face album. I would like these things to work for future reference to what I’d like to buy next but oh well.
This app is so amazing! I can look up all their products and it’s there! I can earn points for free items, and I don’t even have to shop in the website to get points! I can go to a store buy their product then scan my receipt in the app for points. The thing I love most is that unlike bubble or all of that other skin care ELF, is actually good for your skin and doesn’t have bad fragrances in it like other places! I really recommend this app you can try on their products with the face scanner and see if the product matches your skin. If you don’t like showing your face you can take a test on the app to see what your skin color number is for a foundation. I super recommend

I love this app, it’s so much cheaper then target because they give you free gifts and free shipping! Also it’s their full vegan inventory as opposed to whatever target happens to have in stock. I just placed my second order with them. The first order was so much fun to receive it came in a cute box that looked and felt like a present. I know nothing about makeup but I that ELF has tutorials that I desperately need to watch. I’m also excited that they finally started making vegan nail polish! I also really want to get the surprise box. Oh so many fun things that elf offers. Great company. I worked with a make artist years ago and she is used to using super high end Sophora make up and she said that elf make up is really great!
Elf is really killing the game right now! They have stepped up their makeup game and are putting out launch after launch all at an affordable price point. My makeup bag has almost solely become ELF. Their rewards program is next level too not only with all of the perks but every $1 you spend you get 10 points!!! Unheard of!! The only issue I’ve ever had with the app is when it glitched on a launch and canceled my lip gloss. However, ELF customer service was to the rescue and sent me my lip oil FREE OF CHARGE for my troubles! Not only do they have amazing products but they have even better customer service! Definitely recommend ELF to anyone I can!!
I’m a recent convert to ELF. When the putty primer was introduced, the reviews introduced me to this high-quality, reasonably-priced brand and I downloaded the app straight away. The app is quite user friendly, keeps tally of points that are easily converted to discounts or products. Using points and free gifts-with-purchase enables users to try full-sized product at little-to-no cost. I’ve discovered some wonderful products, that I now regularly use, by trying for free. Since quarantine, I’ve worn makeup just a handful of times since Mar 2020. I tossed many of my beloved ELF favourites, because makeup doesn’t stay fresh forever. I was able to replace all my favourite products for less-than $100. total, and earned points toward next purchase, too. The site is super easy to navigate and opens with new products, best sellers, and award winners. I appreciate the price of ELF products, but I’d still buy them if the were similar price to the “luxury” brands, because I LOVE ELF! Do not miss the facial oils! Vegan friendly, inexpensive, luxurious, and wonderfully effective.

I struggle with acne a lot, and I looked into elf because elf is affordable, and simple to use. I looked into all of elf’s acne collection, and they had model pictures of a before and after. But I noticed all of them had the same pictures. I realized that the result of that picture —wasn’t from that one product, it was after you used every single one of the products from the acne collection, or the photos were fake or something. Also, some of elf’s product do cause acne, like some concealers and primers, but you can’t have everything perfect. I personally trust and love elf, but some things arent 100% the best gateway to looking the way you desire. Hope this helped!!
Rejects purchases, freezes, asks for inexistent updates
First off, I love elf and thought it’s such nice idea to have its own app, I downloaded it and placed an order, which was a pain to go through, I used Apple Pay and the app kept rejecting the transaction saying the billing address was invalid, I ended up deleting the app and downloading it again, this time the app didn’t reject the purchase, what I changed? -nothing. Later I wanted to check another product, the app kept loading the initial screen never moved forward, solution delete/re-download app, today is asking me to update the app, but I’m already up to date, I definitely look forward to the app working properly, meantime I’ll just pass :/ Edit: not updating the rating, unfortunately I had the same “invalid billing address” issue even after latest update, had to go through web page again
I go and order some make up an offed make up brushes the decors I didn’t need them no where on ther website o at check out does it say that once you place an order that you can go back and ask them to remove 1 item that you don’t want they didn’t show anything about that they blame it’s against there policy but yet to fail to show that at the time of check out I email them several times asking them kindly as doon as I placed the order that I decided I didn’t want the make up brushes but tilt like they tell you not in direct word it like to bad I’ll tell you right now this it the very first and the very last time I will be ordering from elf who clame ti be a very popular comseitic company yeah right not when you don’t even revive your order yet that they can’t remove one item from your order that because t here greedy with money
I had higher expectations of the app and of E.l.f cosmetics, to put it simply my very first issue was that the app is constantly signing me out even though I checked the “remember me” box and I find nowhere in the settings to keep me signed in, I also had an issue with checkout because nowhere at the checkout does it say you can ONLY use an E.l.f gift card, I thought I could use a visa gift card but apparently not and lastly I had a very disappointing customer service experience, I contacted customer service about my gift card situation because I was unsure why my gift card wasn’t working and I received a very blunt response and when I sent another response back it was completely ignored, definitely not gonna order from E.l.f anytime soon after this experience.
ELF has to be my top favorite drug store brands and I love having this app where I can see almost all of the options of make up and skincare. But there is one problem, for a few months now I’ve noticed that the app does not save my wishlist items when I log out of the app and when I log back in I see that my wishlist is empty. This app did save my items when I got it earlier this year, but it’s a little frustrating to shop on the app when I know have something on my mind, but it’s not there and I can’t remember what it is. ELF please fix this! Overall I love the app and I would give a 5 star rating but the wishlist not saving my items is frustrating.
I downloaded the app onto my iPhone yet every time I click on the app it just shows a black page with LN it on hold for about 30 seconds and then just go away how can I order your products if I can’t access the app and this is very disappointing to me because I have worn your Cosmetics for over 15 years my daughter uses your cosmetics and we love them but I guess we’re going to have to switch to Smashbox their app is very easy convenient and doesn’t disappear every time you try to click on the app. I really do hope you can resolve this because I do enjoy your cosmetics!

The app is a bit slow. That’s my only criticism. I love that ELF continues to create game-changing products at an affordable price. I’ve been learning new makeup techniques with my daughter and the price point allows me to experiment without buyer’s remorse. I did my thesis project for my MBA on the company, so I’m well aware of all the things that set them apart, namely inclusiveness of product offerings. They have a commitment to diversity. Also, they manufacture directly so speed to market is superior compared to competitors. Not to write a dissertation lol, but I like the way they work and produce. I’m loving the Halo Glow line right now! I am an avid fan!
I have literally been buying e.l.f. Products for years and only recently downloaded the app, love that you can scan your receipts from store purchases to gain point for free products or money off your order total, it’s amazing! They have how to tutorials on products, and which other products of theirs works best with it. virtual try on, and of course you can get new products not yet sold in stores directly from the app and they have really been coming through with amazing new products lately. If you don’t already have this app i highly recommend you get it!
There are so many product from e.l.f. that I love. My top 3 are as follows: - e.l.f. skin Bronzing Drops: These, I cannot live without in the summer. I mix it with my SPF sunblock and my face looks sun-kissed and glowy. Just beautiful. - e.l.f. Jelly Pop, dew primer: When I say I LOVE this product, I’m not kidding. I LOVE, LOVE this product. This has been my saving grace in the summer. I live in Texas and summers are hot and humid. This primer keeps my face and makeup from melting off. It the best!!!! Please never discontinue this product. - e.l.f. skin Holy Hydration, Daily Moisturizer. This is one of the best face creams. I’ve been using it at night. It feels like the Tacha Water Cream. I love it. My face is moisturized without feeling oily. It’s the perfect consistency for my skin. There are so many other products, like the $2 lip pencils that glide on your lips and are soft and don’t dry out your lips or the dazzle shadows that give the little pop to your eyelids. Even their eye shadows are great and they have lots to choose from.
This is such a valuable app to track purchases, find color matches, watch tutorials, and check out new products. The unique and amazing part of the app is that you can upload receipts from purchases made at other stores and get points! There are also great perks to shopping in the app including discounts and free shipping. For all of those that want beauty products that are high quality, cruelty free, and vegan, e.l.f. products should be at the top of your list. This app is a must for those new to e.l.f. and those who have been using the products for years! It’s honesty my favorite beauty app.
The app is easy to use and the brand is awesome. I always find myself scrolling so tempted to buy more because I love e.l.f cosmetics! With the app you can “love” products to easily find them later, set up notifications to hear about new products, and scan receipts from places like Ulta and Target to earn points (not to mention all the other ways you can easily stock up on points too!) I’ve been a customer for 10 years now. I have every shade of lipstick and all the eye shadow pallets. I recently started using the skin care and My Oh My! Why haven’t I’ve done this a long time ago? I was afraid I would break out and first time I tried it…luckily my face was fine since I am sensitive. I fell in love with the Jelly Bounce Cleanser. It’s my ultimate favorite. The mascara is also my absolute favorite. I’ve been their customer since they first came out. I remember the old times when they used to send me hand written thank you cards.

I really liked the app. It has a friendly interface, easy to understand navigation, even if you are using the app for the first time. I really liked the Virtual try-on function, it is especially valuable in the current conditions of the pandemic, because I no longer have the opportunity to test cosmetics in the store, and I have to make purchases online. Make-up looks authentic, it's nice that you can not just look at the shades on models with similar appearance, but apply them to yourself, look from different angles, take a photo. I definitely recommend the app!
Talk about SLOOOOOWWW. Remember dial-up internet? That was faster than this app. I’m sure it’s something that can be corrected eventually, but in the meantime I absolutely cannot use this app. Pages take an eternity to load, you tap on something and the lag is incredibly annoying. I absolutely love the layout of this app, and once it’s working properly I’ll change my review. Sept 1st updated review: After an update in August.... I see no changes. In fact, I think it might be worse. I haven’t opened this app since I left my review, but saw there was an update so I got my hopes up. I can’t even log in. It just totally freezes up. Sorry ELF, I don’t have 5 hours to spend logging into your app. I love your products and I’d buy a lot more if your app actually worked. This is just pathetic.
I love the brand elf and all they stand for and do and it makes it more easier to get elf products off a specific app rather than browsing the web ! I enjoy how you can earn point for physical makeup , money off and even gift cards and payments for your points which can come in handy for beauty lovers like me who enjoy shopping from elf because they benefit you for purchasing products you love and I can appreciate that! Though I haven’t had it for more than a month , I am excited to see how this app treats me!
E.L.F has stepped there game up to the max I have bought almost every namebrand popular product that you can think of, and it still does not compare to some of the elf products that I own for example, their foundation I own every brand because I’m looking for that one that makes my skin flawless all day long without any touchups and their soft glam. Satin foundation does just that it literally last all day covers all my imperfections and I don’t have to touch up not once absolutely love their products.
Honestly I use to think E.L.F was a cheap brand that nobody important used.. but within time and learning. I see that E.L.F IS the best go to brand around! I honestly didn’t know the steps to apply makeup until I learned about E.L.F. They carry every single thing you will need and give amazing instructions on how to use and when to apply before/after! And the best part that I love is that they have a HUGE variety of “light skinned” colors! Me being biracial girl it’s hard to find the correct “light but tanned” color lol. So E.L.F will always be my #1!! Keep making great products E.L.F!! ❤️❤️💄💋
I love everything about the elf products, but the app needs some serious help. Whether you’re trying to earn points, it doesn’t register or when you are trying to look at pictures and zoom in it just goes blank there just seems to be a lot of glitches and it could definitely use some help. hopefully it gets worked out soon because I feel like there are a lot of benefits to this app but honestly, I’ve only tried to use it a few times in the last six months because once I get aggravated, I don’t go back to it and then I think within a month or two it should be fixed and yet it’s still not running very well.
I guess some people said that their app was freezing on them? But that didn’t happen to me! It worked flawlessly and the format was the exact same as the website which I appreciate. It’s super user friendly and The best part has to be that for most products, you can pick a model with your skin tone to show you what the products will looks like. You can also use a picture of yourself, just be careful that you’re in natural light, otherwise it will throw off the tones. But overall, amazing!
This app has a little of everything! I love using the virtual try on to see how I look in different shades etc. it is a game changer! So helpful and cuts way down on having to return items due to not liking how it looked on me! There are many ways to earn points as well as different options on redeeming points. I love that I can choose a free product or dollars off my total order. Finally an app that gives you options as well as keeping me current on what’s trending now! Thank you Elf! ❤️
E.l.f. is hands down the best budget beauty brand in the game right now. Their formulas are on par with high end brands and this app works surprisingly well despite being rather new. No real glitches or anything like that. I do wish the virtual try on feature was a little more accurate, i’m not a fan of how virtual try one with “YouCam” sort of edit your photo to an airbrushed effect to make you look better haha. I want to know what the product will look like in real life, not what it would look like if i was flawless
Oh god I am so happy elf launched their own app god knows how long I have been waiting for it I am so excited to use app. I have been loving elf for over 7 years now and even though I always loved elf and their all the perks I found it a bit hassle to go to their website. At times it was slow. I am happy with their great move. Now next move I would love to see is definitely a faster surfaces, being an IT girly myself I understand it will take a few time but hey all high hopes and good wishes to elf team. Love love love ELF products.
I just wrote 3 different product reviews to submit within the app under my account , and each time it got to the required section asking for name/nickname —- no matter what I chose, I kept receiving a message saying that the name or nickname has already been or currently in use. Therefore, I cannot type in this field subsequently not submitting the reviews and probably not going to interact much with this app anymore . The receipt scanner / upload feature is great and reliable, not sure if this is a bug or just a happenstance of error .
I really want to love the app, but it still has a lot of problems. I have deleted it a few times out of frustration and your website isn’t much better. I have no problems with any of the other websites I shop. I prefer buying your products on your website because you have more of a selection than Ulta and other places that sell your product. The pages load very slow. I have filled out the beauty profile a couple of times it never saves what I select so I have to redo it each time. And when I try to search for the products, the app recommends a third of them are not even on your website. Update: still glitchy shame on you
I buy e.l.f. products all the time, in physical drugstores and at ulta or directly from the e.l.f. app. What makes their app nice is when you sign up for their rewards program, you can buy one of their products anywhere, snap a photo of your receipt, and you get rewarded for buying an e.l.f. product! I don’t know of any other beauty company that does this, so please keep doing it! It gives me double incentive for buying from your company. Download this app and sign up for their BeautySquad Rewards Program if you buy e.l.f. You won’t regret it. ☺️
I love how easy the App is to use. I love that you can scan store receipts for e.l.f. Products to be included on your reward points. I love that you can try the product on you by using your camera. I love that it gives you recommendations. I love the Rewards program. Last but not least, I absolutely love that all these products are Vegan & can all be used on your Eyes, Lips & Face, hence company brand name e.l.f. I’ve been using these products for years (Approx 6+ years), since I first spotted them at Retail stores. I love the price control too.
