This is a great product made better with the app to help prevent or diminish ear and sinus discomfort due to rapid changes in air pressure. I personally use it when I travel and recommend it to my patients. It’s safe, effective, and inexpensive. Now with the app any rapid changes in pressure mid-flight can be addressed. Thanks for an excellent and easy to use product that markedly reduces ear and sinus discomfort from flying. It also works great for mountainous driving (but not by the driver). Kudos to the people that make Earplanes.
I used to put my Earplanes in before the door closed and take them out at cruising, but I think I didn’t always put them back in when I should have. While using this app, my movie-watching on the plane was interrupted by a notification to put in my Earplanes, and my ears have never felt better after a flight! The earplanes have kept me from ear infections and sinus infections on vacations, so I owe this company a ton!
At first I was wondering why do you need an app for ear plugs! But turns out it’s such a great idea. You can track cabin pressure and then plan your ear plugging accordingly. Also, lots of interesting info about cabin pressure, rate of change of pressure, etc. My advise to the company is you have a great product and a nice app that goes with it but on the packaging, the novelty is not at all clear. Just a barcode with nothing explaining why it’s useful to download.
Having experienced severe ear pain 35 years ago that required a tube insertion in my ear drum, an experience you never forget, I experienced ear pain on Christmas and my ENT checked me out. He gave me 2 Rx and told me to buy EarPlanes. That app guides and informs you during the flight and I will never fly again without them. Small children should be protected by children’s size EarPlanes, be pro-active. Larry- International Traveler
I have issues with my inner ear due to a prior upper respiratory infection and fluid in my ear. Before I discovered earplanes I tried Dramamine and still got sick. I am thankful I picked these up at a store. Not only did I not feel sick, I was also able to eat and drink on the plane. I also did not struggle with vertigo. I think these are a good investment. It helped me with my struggle with motion sickness.
I have Eustachian tube dysfunction and suffered on airplane flights for many years until I found Earplanes. They really work! Now I discovered the app for Earplanes and what an amazing experience. The app allows me to fine tune when to put them in my ears and when to take out. I am no longer dreading to fly due to ear pain. Thank you Earplanes!
I have been using EarPlanes for over 5 years. They were working okay, but I had inconsistent results. I recently flew to Puerto Rico and used the app. It is an absolute game changer! I couldn’t believe I got through the entire flight with minimal pain. Thank you for being so innovative! You have changed my life for the better.
Every time I fly I get the worst pain from a 1-10 I hit a 30 times I bleed reason why I hate flying I go deaf for days with pain but this brand although I did feel pressure it was mild and I feel but better I can hear and I’m not crying thank you ❤️
While the verdict is still out on the Earplane plugs themselves, the app definitely doesn’t work. I tried updating everything, restarting my phone, etc, but the app never measured the pressure in the cabin. I automatically just put the plugs in during the last 30-40 minutes of flight. Solid idea for those of us who have trouble with ear pressure during flying, just wish it would have worked.
I just loved the EP app! It was fascinating to observe the pressure changes when the plane was ascending and descending. Now I understand why my ears have always bothered me. Until Ear Planes were available, I had such ear pain, I thought I would have to give up flying.
It’s common for apps to ignore the rules these days and advertise in push notifications, but it’s still annoying. Otherwise it’s actually a great app. Clean interface and utilizes sensors remarkably well. I really like it when it’s not trying to get me to buy more of them for the holidays.
I used these coming home from Mexico from having extreme ear pain from the few last times I was flying and I got these then got the app and it’s so good my ears didn’t hurt once on that flight!
A+ Absolutely love this app much more comfortable and relieves the pain and pressure I typically experience when I fly. And I fly a lot - internationally. So this is a complete game changer for me. Plus, it's super easy to use!
I turn down the notification, but it keeps popping on my phone. I am not traveling any more and don’t need it now, until my next flight which I don’t know when!
I have small Eustachian tubes so pressure changes are painful to my ears and wreak havoc on my sinuses. I use Earplanes and the app even when traveling on land. I’m positive that it’s helped me avoid sinus infections.
I put the plugs in before the cabin door closes and remove them after it opens. I don’t need an app for that. It would be nice if I could just see the cabin pressure without the privacy violating location services and annoying notifications. Useless for me without that.
I’ve used this app and plugs successfully on this iPhone 13. On my current flight your app opens but displays no pressure or altitude readings or graph. No notifications about when to remove or replace plugs. iPhone 13 updated to 17.4. What happened? Please fix.
After setting up the various permissions required, and after repeated attempts to “Start Flight”this useless app was unable to fetch any data let alone “initial” data. Waste of time.
The app was very accurate and shows the altitude as well as pressure levels. The altitude was nearly on point but the lower you get to the ground the less it changes. It stops somewhere around 500-600 feet. Both the app and the earplanes themselves were very helpful. I’ve had ear canal problems since I was little and this past flight I had, I did not experience any pain or bleeding. I am so grateful!!
Backstory: when I was little I had so many ear infections I had to get tubes, whatever 🤷♀️ but after that, my airplane ear got so bad it made me go into hysterics while we were on the plane, (talk about awkward) the pain is h3ll on earth that's how bad it hurts. Back to my review lol Product: so I just left the airport from my trip maybe 30/45 minutes ago? And I am fine going up but going down everything falls to shambles. So I went to Florida it hurt like h3ll so I bought Earplane+ because I wanted to try them. (🤷♀️) so I put them in how the directions told me to blah blah blah and then I realized it wasn't helping with pressure just pain. So the 2 stars are because the pain was not nearly as bad as going down (there was still a pain though) and when we landed and I took them out the ANNOYING air pressure made it incredibly hard to hear anything it was all muffled. The reason I deducted 3 stars is because I STILL HAVENT GOTTEN RID OF IT!!! I still can barely hear. App: the app works great. When I fly I read my books so u don't know if it will interrupt your movies and TV shows 😅 but it does work well if you read instead of watching TV. I watched the thing go up and down it was interesting 😁 and when I started the flight it told me that I needed to wear them and then right after you could start hearing the pressure start and the plane going down I got a notification telling me to put them in. So the app is very good it's just the product that'd be a little iffy. So if your airplane ear is not that bad I definitely recommend but for me? No. It didn't work very well and it just made everything harder to hear. I will give it to y'all that the pain was much less. But there is more to the product that could prob be added to make it better for people who have EXTREMELY bad airplane ears. (and if you were wondering yes my ears still haven't popped) And the shirt version is: it didn't work well and I still can't hear…
Every time i would get on a plane, the pressure would be so bad in my ears that i would get severe pain, nausea, and headaches. I found ear planes the day before my last flight at a Walgreens and i figured i’d give them a try. OMG THEY WORKED SO WELL. I had no discomfort in my ears during takeoff and landing, which would usually cause extreme pain. 1000/10 HIGHLYYY RECOMEND THIS PRODUCT.
Ears popping or hurting on a flight? EarPlanes+ measures cabin air pressure in real-time during a flight and sends a notification precisely when EarPlanes earplugs should be worn to prevent ear pain. For over 25 years, EarPlanes earplugs have been helping flyers prevent ear pain and popping due to the rapid air pressure changes inflight, EP+ completely takes the guesswork out of when they need to be worn. EP+ utilizes the air pressure sensor (barometer) built-in to your smartphone and the app will send a push notification when air pressure becomes unstable, even if you are using other apps. The air pressures experienced during a flight is quite a journey, see it right before your eyes for the first time with EP+
