App concerns
This is a great product! If only the app would work as it should. When I finally get a room divided correctly it creates another problem with another room. Mapping shouldn’t be this difficult. Really hope that an update is coming to correct this problem. This app is difficult to use with a lot of quirks especially without some kind of tutorial to refer to. Hope this is a concern for ecovacs? If not it should be! There’s no consistency with this app. Haven’t had it run whole house cleaning the same way ever. So I’ve reverted to cleaning one or two rooms at a time cause whole house cleaning just doesn't get the job done. Took over 12 hours to get it to do a 1800sq ft house. Have to babysit it to make sure it does what its supposed to. Shouldn’t have to do that with how much this costs. If not then someone should let your customers know theres a fix coming their way. I’ve read a little about ecovacs issues and it seems the problems I’m talking about have been around for a while. So I’m not sure if what I’m telling you is coming as any surprise. Just wish that with this new model that ecovacs wants or try’s to get this corrected. Can’t really understand why they wouldn’t want to. Need to spend a day with support to get some of these bugs straightened out. Every thing I’m bringing up is me trying to be constructive which is what you ask when you ask for feedback.

Excellent vacuum/mop
Have been overall satisfied with the evac. Does the same job as competitive bots i have used but mop is very cool and convenient in one bot. Sometimes a little finicky when moving the charger to another floor. Doesn’t seem to recognize the saved map, but not a big deal as it maps out new or adjusts when finally recognizing saved map. Small dust bin but hasn’t presented a problem, easy to clean. Smart design with cleaning tool storage on the bot. Wish the charger had a mount for the mopping plate when not in use. I wet the mop pad as the water spray is light even on the highest setting which seems to help the mopping quality but it is still very streaky. More water spray is needed. Larger water cartridge would be ideal. I do wish it had a sensor to stop the vac and alert you to when the water is depleted so you can refill or choose to continue. Right now it keeps going so if you’re doing an entire floor you may not know where it ran out. Tracking that on the map would be cool. App is good, room maps are great. Run the vac without mop for initial mapping run as rugs and carpets drag the mop plate. Ability to customize room features is key to avoid rugs and carpets when mopping plate is installed. We put chairs on top of counters so job is unobstructed but the vac does a good job of recognizing obstacles and avoiding, like my dog. Would recommend the evovac and will most likely upgrade when new features improve the bot.

Overall happy
Overall very few issues with the vacuum. I’ve even given it as a 🎁 to family. Now that it’s a few years old it does seem to be having some more issues and requires more correcting from me, to put it back on track. Still happy with it. Convinced the fiancé to give away his old useless ones. One of the things I love most about this company & app is how “smart” and EFFICIENT it is. Relatively to every other vacuum I’ve seen. While a confused roaming roomba is cute, I’m getting this to actually vacuum & mop and that’s where this robot + app shine. ✨ That said there are some minor issues I wish would be fixed and some more features that would be nice. My biggest gripe would probably be the way it gets stuck in mopping mode sometimes. If I want to mop a particular area it will clearly try to map over a carpeted area and will take quite a bit of time to figure out how to move around the carpet to the area I indicated. (My app is out dated so if the new update addresses this I’ll update my review). It tends to do well with getting back home but it still gets lost. This seems to be happening more now than it used to. It’s annoying because it seems to like to get lost the first day I’m out of town so I come home to it lost and the house not vacuumed. I know realistically there will be times it will need help and software will never be perfect so as long as it does it’s job well with few issues I’m happy. And I am happy! Overall great product ⭐️

Excellent vac and mopper
We have a complicated octagon shaped house. Previous robots we had struggled to find their way around and required a lot of prep like putting chairs on tables. We tried a robot mopper before and it just dragged a disposable pad around and barely accomplished anything. This one is fantastic. We have an old dog with bladder issues so we have to mop on almost a daily basis. All of our floors are hard surfaces. The mopper attachment it came with also just dragged around a pad, but we bought the “pro” attachment that runs the pad back and forth and it does a fairly good job. So we really only have to do a “real” mop to sanitize every couple of weeks. Truly a time saver pad back and forth and does a much better job. This is also an older model and was the least expensive (and best) robot we have ever bought, just for the vacuuming alone. Our floors get so dirty so fast that we need to replace the pads 2-3 times each mopping, so I honestly don’t see the point of having a “station” for it to clean its mops. Not worth the extra $600 in my view. Speaking of pads, the pro model says you should use the disposable pads, but as others have noted the regular pads work and are reusable—put them in the laundry. I have tried both and the disposable ones seem to hold less dirt. So I recommend buying a supply of regular pads to keep on hand.

Great bot. Bad app.
This visual update (Sept 2024) is graphically nice, but wasted time if you have more than one of their products since there isn’t a list that can show all at once anymore, and the design is hugely confusing and self-contradictory, in that an arrow to the right loads the detail view of the bot you’re looking at (why bother with a different full-page view when your selection “list” is already full page?), but a different arrow to the right only pops up a menu letting you rename the bot, when a swipe to the right moves to the next device??? Good design is how it WORKS, not just how it looks. This feels like some jerk from Marketing got their fingers into app design and made it prettier and much worse. [ORIGINAL REVIEW] Look, I like their vacuum robots so much I bought a second one so I could have one on each floor of my house. They’re great little bots, especially when you can find them on sale; I paid about $180 USD for each of mine. This review isn’t about the bots, but their app, which has always been bad. WiFi connectivity was table stakes for me, but the app takes for-EV-er to acquire the bots when you launch the app (I promise you, my home network is very fast), and once it establishes that each bot is online or offline, it takes another forever to actually establish communication with it. I’ve come to fear that they’re communicating with their server and back (a terrible choice) instead of just going direct the 20ft between me and my bot.

Update ruined app
***HOW TO RESTORE WIFI CONNECTION AFTER APP UPDATE TO 1.1.0 - If your DeeBot 900 app no longer connects to WiFi after the latest update, this is the thing that finally restored it (discovered independently after no successful response from Ecovacs Home). On the EcoVac Home app, swipe left on the DeeBot graphic and then click on the red “X”. You will be asked if you want to delete the current DeeBot. Yes. Once deleted, click “Add new robot”. Follow the set up instructions as you did when you first set up your DeeBot. This restored the WiFi connection and brought my DeeBot back online. It does erase all of the cleaning logs, schedules, and house map, but it works and these things can be restored.*** I purchased the DeeBot 900 to replace a Roomba. The machine works wonderfully and, at the time, so did the app. I was even recommending it to friends. I then made the mistake of updating the app in December when the WiFi connection went down. The best features of the machine are now useless, because the app is failing to connect to the WiFi still. I have called Customer Support, which was useless. I responded to the email they sent asking for more details and screen shots. I have yet to hear back and the DeeBot sits uselessly on the charger. What a huge disappointment. This rating went from what would have been a 5+ stars to a 1 all because of a poorly designed and tested app. If the problem isn’t corrected soon, I will return the vacuum.

Worst app on the planet!
I just received th Deebot osmo robot vacuum and tried 5 times to connect it to my router with ZERO luck! Follow up: three days later and I’ve finally got the robot to connect! The problem was my routers security system. I was using MAC address authentication, which isn’t compatible with these robotic devices, because they don’t have MAC addresses! I had to change the router to WPA2 and it connected the first try! I’ll return after I get it to map our home. Update three months later. I’ve had more problems with this allegedly “intelligent” cleaning robot, than the law allows! Almost every time I turn it over to clean the main brush (using the procedure in the manual) it looses the map and has to recreate a new one. I had been scheduling one cleaning on Saturday and just recently added Wednesday. It is now bumping around like it’s never been here before! This robot is NOT consistent! Seven months later. All the complaints listed above are still valid, plus some! This device is FAR from being the intelligent device you claim it to be. It continues to bump around aimlessly and goes over the same areas it has just cleaned, multiple times. I have repeatedly reset the map, hoping it will “remember” where its been and clean consistently. Fat chance!

Great concept, poor execution.
The machine itself has a great concept of mopping and vacuuming at the same time; however, the vacuum/mop does a poor job as its just dirty water swirling across your floors, poor vacuuming power/capacity, and the app is frustrating at best. I try to run it twice a week and it NEVER is able to finish. It will start over EVERY time. Battery life is horrible. Takes 4 charges + to barely do 1,500 sf ft. and leaves dirty swirls all across the floors. Vacuum clogs all the time (yes, we have pets) but never notifies me its clogged. Final nail in this product is that the app is glitchy at best and has wiped numerous mappings and now won’t connect to the internet in order to run/clean/function. I troubleshot it for about 30 minutes (without deleting the robot) and am just over this device. In my opinion, this company just wants to continue getting sales (CONSTANT email and app bombardments for sales, usage of points, etc) and has no intention of supporting its current product’s performance. Sad, as its a fairly expensive product that I was hoping to use to its full extent, not trash it in a year.. but the company just seems interested in selling me their next best thing instead of having a fully functioning product.

Good kit slightly marred by poor software maintenance
I have had my two DEEBOT 900s for almost a year. Initial installation was a headache partly because of poor documentation but the enthusiastic support techs more than made up for that. To be honest I am not sure whether the software is entirely the problem that still plagues my installation. It seems to be a compatibility issue caused by one bot being a little older than the other. This means I cannot use the same OS for both. I must use Home for one and 2017 for the other. The Home installation is much more buggy and freezes all the time. On average I have to reinstall the entire system every month if I want to use it regularly. Irritating. Conclusion? Great value for money - they work well cleaning a mostly stone floor around 185 sq metres. The dust box needs regular emptying and you have to check it manually because the “box full” function does not work. So if you don’t mind the challenge of the software it is a good buy. By the way they updated the manual so it is easier to use now.

Smart Device
This review will begin some background, followed by how it cleans, then how it stacks up with our expectations. This is our first robot vacuum, our daughter has the X1 and loves it, it is round, not rectangular like the X2. So we ordered the “new and improved” X2. We received our unit Nov/Dec of 2023. Overall for cleaning, it does an OK job vacuuming, could be better. My wife loves the mopping function, so 5 stars for that. Expectations: I thought that these robot cleaners were smarter than they are. I was also disappointed with the mapping function. I am really disappointed with how it functions, it is not a very smart device. It looks like the programmers did not take into account the different shape, when it gets stuck, the X1 being round, can spin and go back out. The X2 tries this continually, rather than just backing out. I’ve learned to not watch it, very frustrating, again, not as advanced as I was expecting. I understand that the shape of the X2 is to help in cleaning corners, other than that, I think round might be better. Part of my frustration has been learning to adjust to the devices limitations. More control via the app would also be nice, like direction of vacuuming, can matter on carpets. More control on dividing up a house into sections for cleaning, this would help keeping within the battery limits. Being able to just run the dry mops function when you interrupt up it in the mop drying function after mopping.

Love my machine
I had a roomba before and it got stuck everywhere and the virtual walls were expensive . With the deebot I can have as many virtual walls as I like and I can watch it clean on my phone . I can even start it if I’m not home and watch . I may be a dork but I loved being able to see where it was and what it was doing . It even mops some . You can’t use floor cleaner only water or it messes up the machine but still that’s more than the roomba could do . I don’t have pay virtual walls all over the place or buy them and I don’t have to close doors to keep it out . My roomba always got stuck under the couch and it was a major pain . I love being able to mark off those places and keep it out . The internet setup was my only difficulty but I called customer support and figured out I needed to be at least 20 feet away from the router and I finally got it . Well that and the app kept timing out which got frustrating. After I got it though it was easy and I love it .

Excellent Vaccum
Bought this in Feb 2019. Even with poor instructions, it was easy to set up and get working using their app. We use it to clean our house twice a week. It worked very well once we got our boundaries set up so it wouldn’t get tangled in cords. Then in Aug 2020, the unit was heading back to the recharging dock when in stopped and would not operate. I got on the Ecovac’s web site and chatted with a tech. After doing what he asked me to do, he had me return the unit to have it repaired. They paid for shipping to and from their factory and repairs we free since it was still under the 12 month warranty period. Got it back in a couple of weeks and had to set it up again which was once again pretty simple. Only bad part was to have it map the house again and setting up new boundaries. Other than that, it works great and we are very happy with it. Hope it lasts for a while now which is the only reason why I gave it four stars instead of five. If not for the break down, I would rate it five stars.

Great Product
I have had the EcoVac DeeBot N79S for a little over two years. I absolutely love my vacuum. I still haven’t had to replace the parts, and when I will they are inexpensive. I bought my mother one for Mother’s Day because I loved it so much and I knew she would too. It truly does a FANTASTIC job keeping my floors clean. It does not replace your normal vacuum though. I run mine throughout the week and on the weekend pull out my Shark to vaccum. I have a two dogs that shed like crazy and it keeps my sanity. I have all floor types and have had it in a house with steps. It does well on my rugs as well. I’m not sure why there are so many reviews talking about the app, but I haven’t had an issue with the app either. I have contacted customer support and they were very helpful and fixed the problem quickly (power switch was turned off somehow and I didn’t think to check it). I highly recommend their product, I have no complaints! If you have kids or dogs, you NEED this!

Love my Deebot
I LOVE my Deebot vacuum and all the app features are great IF it works properly. It took several days to get my house mapped out. The map wasn’t saving in my app when it said it was complete. That was about 2 months ago. I’ve been mostly happy with the app ever since, except for sometimes the robot thinks it’s on the second floor map and can’t return to the docking station. I have to turn off the Deebot and manually set it on the docking station to get it to relocate. My MAIN FRUSTRATION right now is that after getting my main floor map adjusted with all the areas in my home just right, the map has somehow taken some of those areas and combined them and also separated areas into smaller areas. This messes with my scheduled area cleanings. I like to be able to choose a specific area to clean and now I will need to go back in and separate the areas again. This has happened a couple of times now. Frustrating!

Version 2.5.6
The app controls & reports the status of the vac extremely well, but falls down when it comes to modifying a floor plan map. For starters, You can’t modify (add, remove, move) interior walls. On one mapping pass, the map identified a bed rail as a wall. I couldn’t manually remove it, so the entire level of the house had to be mapped a second time. Its difficult, if not impossible at times to split a room (ie: split the kitchen from the connected hallway). This is necessary if you want to mop the kitchen tile but not hardwood floors in the hallway. Should include a way to remap just certain areas, instead of remapping the entire level of the house. I mapped the house 3 times and got three different versions. In each case I was unable to divide one area of our open-concept house into its desired logical function. The app either goes through the motion of dividing a room, or refuses to do so. App only recognizes perpendicular walls. Those at other angles are ignored. Some walls don’t register as a wall at all.

I have two ECOVACS. An inexpensive one, and a not so inexpensive one.
The inexpensive one does a great job picking up. It just didn’t work really well for the main floor of our house because of the size and a need to block off spaces. So I bought a 901. On my third time trying to map the house. At about 1800 sq. ft. it takes a few runs, but I’m a somewhat patient guy. No technology is perfect. However, after the one successful run where it where in for almost 24 hours, the map deleted or just didn’t “hold”. I could see it under the cleaning cycle part of the app, but it was not available in the main part of the app. So now I’m on my third try. The other problem is that it just stops and things. I contacted customer support and they said it was because my hardwood floor had different colors of wood and it thought it was at an edge. Well that’s just absurd. Even if it did think it was an edge why wouldn’t it just turn around? I’ll update later if the map ever completes. One more thing, it’s very disappointing the customer service isn’t responding to any of these reviews.

Frustrating
I’ll start by saying that the Deebot 900 series vacuum works great and I am very pleased with how it functions. The rating I gave is purely for the app. With that being said.. I would give this app negative star if I could. The layout of the app is clean and simple.. it just doesn’t work. The most frustrating thing about this app is that after the 100th time following the simple instructions it finally connects to the Deebot for a split second and drops the signal. I was lucky, or patient, enough to connect the Deebot to the app which allowed me to run the initial layout of my house. I feel like if I hadn’t been able to get this far with the app the Deebot would be running into everything. I can run the vacuum manually by pressing the auto button and it runs great. If this app worked like it should I would recommend this product, but it doesn’t so I don’t. This was a very expensive purchase for me and to have part of the package that really makes this product special not work is just infuriating. I hope there are some updates for this app in the future to help with these issues. I remain optimistic!

Amazed
I’m in a wheelchair from a motorcycle wreck, and with building my first brand new house last year I decided to have installed real blotches English pine hardwood floors throughout, which are absolutely stunning (WHEN CLEAN) I installed to make it easier for me to roll but it breaks my heart that I do put a pretty good amount of wear and tear on them daily from my wheelchair dragging things in from outside of the house,And then getting ran over and practically grounded into the floor over and over. My cleaning lady used to come once a week but now since getting the DeebotShe only joins me once a month! DEEBOT replaced the cleaning lady which saves me so much money, and robot Dee even does a better job! I wish I would have been smart enough to invest in it years ago. Lastly the self cleaning station is a pretty cool add-on as well that I definitely highly suggest. Ezra Cahill

Impossible to create a map if you paused first cleaning after if was actually done
There is no way to recreate a map in the app. I made a mistake during my very first cleaning and when the robot said that cleaning is done and it's returning to the charging station I pressed a button on it when it was a few inches away from the dock. I wanted to empty it manually because I knew it was full and other reviews mentioned it won't be able to auto-empty if it has a lot of hairs. I emptied it, didn't move it at all, and pressed the button to continue to the charging station and now, according to the manual, the map it created won't actually be recognized. I spent 2 hours making sure all rooms have nothing blocking its way to build the perfect map and now I have to repeat all that, even though that map is in front of me in the app, but I can't use it to draw a virtual wall or select a room for cleaning. I'm an engineer and it seems so stupid for me to not have a button like "use whatever you already have as a map". Would save so much time for everyone.

Great but needs improvement
I upgraded to the Omni X one after having the 940 mainly because of the auto empty and refill option. However, I find that the mapping is a little off and it doesn’t detect carpet from hard floor like the previous one did because when it starts mopping as soon as it touches carpet, it just makes a U-turn and won’t go any further so I end up having to manually place it in order to get it to mop the entire area! I figure at this price point that should not be an issue because it wasn’t an issue on the previous model. Also, my only other complaint is you can’t put any type of cleaner in the water reservoir mopping with plain water is just a no no.!

Many pros, some cons
Updated 1 year later: Vacuum runs much better now but lately connectivity issues have become a problem. The connection times out and it’s not my Internet because every other device in the household works perfectly fine. Updated after 1 month, downgraded to 3 stars: Support is VERY slow and they don’t understand the questions. Vac has some random issues navigating and detecting objects. There are still portions of the app that are in Chinese. Initial review: So far vac works great and navigates well. The initial wifi setup was a annoying and the implementation of that process is poor. There is absolutely no reason for the app to need precise location access to setup wifi connectivity yet it’s impossible to do that without allowing it. Would love joystick controls to be added at some point. And please, rename the app - it’s the only ALL CAPS named app on my device and the name doesn’t fit! Why not just... Ecovacs?

Never worked properly
Don’t know if I got lemon but mine never worked correctly. It could never find the station even with perfect reception and the cleaning would be erratic not going to certain spots even after multiple remappings. The software is a joke and people that say it’s great really have no idea what they are talking about. Wish I purchased a different brand. Edit: So customer service sends me this email: Dear Lauro, Ecovacs responded to your review of ECOVACS HOME Ecovacs "Hi, sorry for the "Recharging" issue. In daily use, try to prevent Station from repositioning, uneven nearby ground, obstacles, etc., which may cause recharge failure. Specific instructions can be found in "FAQ". If you encounter this issue again, you can contact us through "Online Customer Service" in the app for more timely feedback." Do you want to update your review? You can also contact the developer. ****************************** What a joke. Even their customer service can’t even respond correctly. “Sorry for the Recharging issue?” What recharging issue? Do you even pay any attention to what the customer is saying or do you just send reply templates to all your customers. $1500 down the drain. It’s been almost a year and the Software has never been upgraded. Same crappy software that doesn’t make sense with option settings that we don’t really need. You should fire your designer and programmer and whoever decided to make the program and settings the way it is.

I love my Deebot
My Deebot mapped the entire first level with little needed from me. As recommended, you should be around the first time it maps an area so your Deebot can learn without getting into any peril. Your Deebot is naive to your home the first time and needs you around while it maps new areas in case it gets into a situation where you can step in to assist. The first mapping results in a series of gentle bumping and repositioning efforts to determine the boundaries. The next time, it goes out and cleans those areas based on what it learned. I will be taking it upstairs to map after it recharges this afternoon. I am very impressed with the amount of filth it picks up. I have three dogs, one cat, a macaw, and a husband in construction. I work full time and go. to school full time, so this makes my life easier and my home tidier.

OK but requires a lot of attention
It does a fairly decent job but requires a lot of attention since it is always acting quirky. Sometimes it loses its map, sometimes it just crawls off and dies. Sometimes it is sent off to do mopping and does not fill itself with water. When we first got it it could go through the house on one charge, now 6 months later it seems to take two or three recharges to do just half the house. It’s a lot of extra work if you have both hard floor and carpet since you have to physically change the mop heads on and off. It requires a lot of maintenance to keep it clean and remove pet hair from the main brush. You have to crawl on your hands and knees on the floor to try to clean out the area where it cleans the mop pads - it is a mess. There are various maintenance parts which are not cheap. Not sure we would have purchased this knowing what we were getting into.

3 weeks and not at all happy
Guess the bot itself (N8 Pro+) is okay. Strange go round but seems to get everywhere eventually. I’ve got dogs so I have set it to empty itself every 20 minutes. Well, sometimes it does that and sometimes it doesn’t. Why I give it only one star is I have to start over EVERY time I use it. When I open the app it says my bot is offline when it clearly isn’t. There is no option to try again. I have only 2 pages in the app at this point. One telling me bot is offline and the other trying to sell me more crap. I’m not happy with this one, why on earth would I want buy another? Anyhow, it’s not just restarting the bot each time, but deleting the app and reinstalling and starting over just like first time. I’ve called customer service and they were the ones to tell me to delete and reinstall! Another twenty minutes I could have been doing something else. Heck even vacuuming with my old standup. Trying to use this 2x a week for the past 3 weeks hasn’t been fun at all.

Best Robot vacuum in the market with great app
I bought ECOVACS ozmo 920 and downloaded the app. The app is designed really well. The set up is really easy and quick. The most important feature is that it creates the map of the whole house during the first vacuum run. The map created by the robot is very accurate and you can see the robot moving on the map in real time while cleaning. You can see it from anywhere as long as you are connected to internet. One of the best feature is that you can divide the areas of a house as per your needs and schedule the vacuums for those areas. You can also draw the area which you want to vacuum. Its really impressive and last but the important is the vacuum suction is powerful at same time not too loud. This is the best use of technology! Thank you ECOVACS.

Great concept, lousy execution
Software is rife with seemingly small and subtle flaws, that have a large negative impact on usability and customer convenience. Highlights include: inability of software to save or update an area map, unless robot has finished a cleaning cycle, making it very difficult to establish, update, and maintain an effective map, considering frequency with which robot gets stuck or lost; inability to user-assign robot’s approximate map location, resulting in frequent, “I’m lost, starting a new cleaning cycle” messages, and subsequent loss of map/cleaning progress; tendency of robot to occasionally ignore user-set map boundaries and barriers, which exacerbates the above problems due to robot getting stuck. Customer service is eager to engage in endless rounds of back-and-forth messaging, including frequent, time consuming demands for photos and other evidence of problems that are easily communicated with text. However, there are never software updates to fix the problems discussed.

Terrible software and app
This is my second ecovac vacuum/mop and only because it was the only double option at the time. The app frequently forgets my mapping for absolutely no reason. And with my first one, after 13 months it stopped working completely and wouldn’t register the device at all conveniently after the warranty was up. The app is constantly making me watch ads to buy their products even though I have already purchased a very expensive broom and mop from them. It makes up its own “rooms” so I have to make a custom program every single time. When my last device broke the customer service from the app was no help, they said they couldn’t help me. If there are any other combo broom/mop options I would go with the other option. They only reason I got the second one is because Costco was able to take back the first defective one and give me credit for a new one.

Frustrating, wide learning curve, errors galore
The ecobot TEO is like a sugared up toddler in our home. It’s always complaining about something: stuck, needs some bop on the front, needs to recharge in the middle of a cleaning (which takes several HOURS by the way), or needs us to check a sensor (this happens when it goes over floor vents every time. I dare you to try and map those out well enough to allow it to function in your spaces). It struggles with furniture (the dining table is its nemesis). I’m surprised this app is asking for my opinion because it has many errors in use. The times it pauses to go charge, the app tends to forget it did that. Starts over for me far too often. The mapping is off and I’ve had to remap several times. The worst for me is it REQUIRES your SSID be public to function. No IOT device in my home requires that. Why? Fix it. It’s messed up and exposes us more than we need security wise.

Good machine, software falls short
The robot works great. High suction, effective brushing, through and efficiently covering floor areas. The mopping function is a bust - beyond dusting, mopping doesn’t clean. Just remove the mop attachment as it’s deadweight and may increase the battery life of each cleaning. The self emptying tower only clears 60-80% of the debris, the remaining debris must be cleared manually after each cleaning. Design flaw: the vacuum intake ports behind the brushes is larger than the exhaust ports used empty the debris with the self-emptying base/tower. You are going to have to manual clean after each use - skip the tower and save the money. Software maps a SINGLE floor very well. DO NOT USE THE MULTI FLOOR MAPPING FUNCTION. Mapping a second floor will generate a overall lapping map requiring a factory reset. See Facebook post on the Ecovacs page. Stick to a single floor and you’ll stay out of issues.

Worst Vac Ever
The app is the death of the machine. My trusty Roomba was done in by some careless movers and I allowed myself to be swayed by the shiny mirage of the ECOVAC’s larger capacity to hold dirt. As it turns out, if the vacuum can never connect to the app and can’t be programmed, capacity is irrelevant as zero cleaning is being done. I’ve never had a product that had such issues connecting to it’s own app. Since it’s purchase in 2021 it has connected sporadically at best, leaving me with a near brand new product after owning it for two years because I can never get it to stay connected. I last managed to get it working back in early 2022 but a temporary Internet outage sealed my fate, I have not been able to get it back up and running since. Every other item in my home reconnects flawlessly when my internet is back up and running: TV, Apple TV, Computer, Phone, security system, workout machines, everything single thing except for the ECOVAC. Save your money, Get a Roomba.

Frustrating Robot App
When everything works, it’s good. But when it doesn’t (most of the time), you end up spending a lot of time on the app trying to get a map to appear. It’s incredibly frustrating trying to get this robot to do the simplest of tasks. I’m giving it 2 stars because the robot tells you what is going on, and because the maps have some editing options. The app would get more stars if a user were able to choose a map (when using multiple map management) and quickly get started on a cleaning task. The app could use more controls to match the robot’s functions. It would be nice to be able to see what the robot sees, so that we can eliminate what the robot considers to be barriers. Overall, the very limited app options lead one to assume that the robot itself is very intuitive and that any extra options are not needed. Wishful thinking.

Decent
I’m torn. I like the idea of letting the vacuum handle a simple but sometimes time-consuming task. However, sometimes it’s more work than it should be. The vacuum gets stuck on a low entry mat - it doesn’t make sense. However, my biggest gripe is there can only be one user. So if you have more than one person that wants to schedule, run, etc the app, you need a central mobile to do that because multiple people cannot link the app to the vacuum. Essentially there either can only be one person that can use the vacuum or there has to be one device that everyone uses to access it. Second major con: the map is rotated 45 degrees. The reason this is an issue is that I’d like to tell it to skip the entry mat since it always gets stuck there, but unless I turn the mat 45 degrees, I have to have it skip a large portion of the room. Pros: Simple setup Usually works Sends notifications Can schedule cleanings Can clean or omit a specific area Once you have the area mapped, it’s usually pretty good Will return to charging base when battery is low Cons: Only one user per vacuum Map is rotated 45 degrees Map is sometimes lost Vacuum gets stuck and will día which causes you to lose the map Can be hard to get it to map the rooms I don’t think it resumes cleaning once recharged; mine never has

I’ve had my Ecovac for about 2 1/2 years now. And for the 2nd time it’s sitting on its dock with a broken drive wheel. The first time it was still under warranty. I’d love to say that for the most part it does everything they say it will. Here’s my experience. When it’s working it does great! No joke. The longest period of time that mine has operated problem free has been 6wks. The shortest, the very next use. You’ll learn pretty quickly about the term “map shift”. The only cure will be to delete the map and start all over. Creating a map is a time consuming, tedious process. You’ll also get to learn about the term “schedule corruption”. You’ll watch as your Ecovac go clean areas not on the schedule, Not clean areas that Are on the schedule, and at times just get lost in the house. As I said at the beginning, when it does work, it’s great. Unfortunately it suffers from poor reliability.

Love my robot 🥰
I have been using these DeeBot robot vacs for approximately two years now and I simply cannot say enough wonderful things about them! They clean my home so effortlessly, and well! I have such a busy schedule that keeping up with my daily chores would be impossible without a little help. My robo vacuum is the charm! It quietly cleans while I cook and prepare for work, or while I am doing other chores around the house, and even when I am not even home! Just remember to do the regular maintenance on your robot vacuum, just as you would for your car, or other hard working appliances and it will continue to be your hard working assistant, making life easier and of course… cleaner! 😂🥰😎

Robots fine, app and voice command is trash
The robot itself is decent if you just want something to maintain a light vacuum/ mopping without really getting into the corners or under counters. THE app however, is pretty bad—at least on my iPhone 12mini. It is not intuitive to use, and has some grammatical issues/ inconsistencies between voice commands and written voice commands. The drop down menus are really weird to use and the same symbol is used in different places that are all sort of setting related. They really need app testers to give feedback on functionality and usability. Half the things are unclear on their purpose or how to use and adjust settings. The different modes and maps are located in the same place as if they were related and connected to each other even though they’re not. They really just need to have beta testers for their app.

Vacuum ends the clean/map if it tangles and needs cleaned…
Needs the ability to resume auto clean after stuck roller clean. Seems to reset the auto clean every time. Every time you flip it, it should localize again… EVERYTIME!!! No excuse for this UX. Fix it or the onboarding experience will remain beyond frustrating. We have two of the N8’s and if they get tangled, it paused and asks you to clean… then you flip it back over to resume and it resets cleaning progress… how did this get missed in QA. The other issue is that when a new room is discovered it doesn’t add it as a new room… whyyyyy requiring of resetting the map is a developer cop out / lazy fix… let’s get this fixed so you aren’t limited to one bedroom apartment customers. And you can’t edit the new areas the bot discovers on the current map like moved furniture?!! How do you add a new “blue” section as part of an existing room if it won’t show that blue section in the map editor… this is silly…

Suddenly stopped operating
Deebot 920 - worked for about 2 months perfectly fine. Then a firmware update that was mandatory in order to use it again failed to install the first 20 times, deleted the app, restarted deebot, re-downloaded app, re-connected deebot- huzzah! Firmware successfully downloaded! Great update! It turned my expensive, perfectly working vacuum into a paper weight as now it doesn’t work at all. Error after error, says it’s online yet won’t connect, doesn’t move and keeps saying “I’ve detected a change in location...” yet hasn’t moved since initially being placed in its home location when I first bought it. Keep up the good work devs! Maybe my deebot got COVID-19 :D

Needs improvement
While I do like not having to mop and vacuum my floors all the time, the functionality of the ecovac is definitely lacking. I don’t understand the mapping it did. It goes over the exact same place over and over and over again. It gets hung up in areas it shouldn’t try to go over (round chair bases). Perhaps the most annoying part is it has started only doing a portion of the floors and then saying the task is complete. My whole main floor takes it about 90 minutes to do. It has now begun ending the cleaning after only 15-20 minutes and just completing an incredibly small portion of the space. The whole main floor is mapped so I don’t understand how it thinks it’s done after only vacuuming/mopping around the dining room table and part of the kitchen.

Great Product!
Going into the purchase of a robotic vacuum skeptically, I wanted to own this unit for some time before I provide a review. Well, it’s been 10 months and I want to say the “jury’s in”... This machine has exceeded ALL of my expectations. Regarding price, it can’t be beat! I purchased the additional (wear) parts kit shortly after and the price still couldn’t be beat... I have the unit programmed to start every morning and by the time I get up, any mess from last night is gone with the unit back at it’s charging station. I take a few minutes to empty the bin that seems to be full every day (never knew my house was that dirty; however quite a lot of it is cat hair) and she’s ready to go again tomorrow. I give the bin and filters (except for the pleated one) a thorough cleaning (under water with dish soap) about once a week. The unit has not let me down, the stick vac I formerly used has not moved off of its wall charger since buying The Deebot. Since the original purchase, I’ve purchased three (3) more as gifts and have shown/recommended the unit to six(6) folks that have subsequently bought it. Keep up the great work!

Love EcoVacs
Update: just tested and this feature has already been added!! As soon as the vac is placed back on the dock it restores the saved map! Original: We own two vacs and love them! Only feature I would like to see added in the future is the ability to backup and restore a map. There are times if you life the robot during operation that the map will clear and all your saves virtual boundaries disappear. Kids and grandparents sometimes pick up the vac during operation or if we need to pull something out that got sucked up like a cord. Other than this request this is the best vac and app out there on a budget that actually works!! Just make sure you get a model with Smart Navi, it’s a must.

Good robot but room for improvement
It does what it designed for. Pro: very good cleaning ability especially with the add on scrubbing mobbing parts. Multiple rooms mapping capability. Non go zone with different shape and sizes is a breeze. Add on auto empty bin make it a real set it and forget it helping hand in daily cleaning tasks. Multiple spots Patrol function made it a good moving security camera! Con: Pricy compare to others Loss it way to go back to charging station quite often. The patrol function is limited only with daylight or lightning on since its camera doesn’t see in the dark. It also can only do one thing at a time either cleaning or patrolling because it can’t see with the camera while it does the cleaning. One way speaking microphone and lack of moving detection and auto recording ability reduces the security function to just for fun and can’t be rely on as main security camera device!

Have yet to have a seamless experience after 3 months of use
Software seems a little rushed to market and no real r&d. I have only owned the deebot ozmo T5 for 3 months. 2 out of 3 cleaning cycles, the vacuum always detects a new environment and has to remake the map. The charging station has never been moved by the way. For some reason, my robot will randomly stop moving and just stay in one place and vacuum until I have to pick it up, take it back to the charging station and re run… oh yes, when I have it re run it thinks it’s in a new environment and has to create yet another new map. I contacted support and only got generic copy and paste solutions. Supports go to answer to your problem is to reset your robot and start over. It has yet to solve my problem but they don’t seem to eager to help any further. Unfortunately, I have had more issues with this product and as of right now I would return your deebot and try another competitors.

Pretty solid
Everything is pretty easy to figure out. There is no it’s all free so explanatory look through the options for menu and settings. I only gave it four stars due to a couple issues. The first issue I had was the vacuum finally mapped out my entire house and somehow was reset or something as it was no longer mapped out for the entire house. However, there is a restore map option. The only problem is that it did not work. I had to click the button to resort a number of times. another issue I have run through lately cleaner will remove itself from my home and I have to re-add it in at times it takes a number of tries to get it to re-add.

Not happy
I’ve had this machine for about 15 months now. I didn’t start using it regularly until about three months ago, when I set a daily cleaning routine. However, it can’t complete a cleaning cycle because it gets stuck in a number of places, or decides to get stuck on a threshold it has never had an issue with in the past. I reset the map this morning, it got stuck twice so I helped it out. When it was time to return to the dock, it could not get lined up with the dock and kept going back and forth until I placed it on the dock. Then it attempted to unload the dirt into the station but when it was through the dirt was still in the machine. I am very unhappy with this machine. I spent more than a normal amount of money for this vacuum and feel it should be superior. I’ve also only used the mop twice because it does not clean good at all. I DO NOT recommend this machine.

Be patient it’s worth it.
Got the Ozmos920 as gift. Daughter owns one. Had to be patient thru the first several days while it surveyed my space and created the map. Seriously, this setup is a little frustrating because the robot needs to learn the floor plan and it may take numerous trips from the charging doc, to explore and domain, our first floor is 3400 square feet and I do not expect a one charge full cleaning. Easier to split into manageable portions and dance around it on a schedule. Don’t frustrate. The device is smarter than we are but needs to charge. Once the map was created absolutely every ongoing experience has been positive from vacuuming to mopping from auto, area to custom. Be patient and remember that restoration and update occurs when the robot This is really a life changer, especially with pets. Just don’t frustrate yourself by trying to change things midstream. Let it finish, work with the schedule and remember that it learns and adapts. I guess, as a human, I also need to do so. Love my vac and have recommended it to everyone. I should seriously be paid for this review. I am not and IDCare.

Love it!
The only thing I see my ECOVACS stumble on is sometimes it has trouble driving up to the dock and docking and takes several attempts but it gets there and during that twice it has started the empty cycle before it was docked and seated. But the unit vacuums and mops so well and it’s made my day so much more enjoyable not having to pick up little debris all the time! I’m never not going to have a robot vacuum again!!! Update/Added Notes: The other thing I’ve noticed is sometimes I have to delete and remap the house and settings not a huge deal but a little annoying and on this last remapping it won’t let me divide the rooms correctly so it is just one giant area

Mediocre App, Great Potential
This app and hardware have so much potential, but unfortunately a clunky UI combined with poor setup greatly hinder this from being amazing. - When dividing areas, the areas can’t overlap, otherwise it throws an error about only selecting the area you want to divide. - The grab points when dividing a room into pieces is awful to grab. I miss grabbing all the time. - No custom names for areas. There isn’t even a basic “entryway” name. Very clear that the designers of this app don’t actually use it. - You can’t modify the area while vacuuming. I understand asking the user to pause during this, but just hiding the options that are normally there? That’s bad UX 101. - Lots of areas where you need to press two buttons to do something that should be one button. For example: want to view a map of your home? You have to enter “Smart Cleaning” to do so. Why??? I bought a robotic vacuum, just show the options to start, don’t hide it under a bunch of menus. Overall, I’d maybe caution against this vacuum unless you want to spend a lot of time setting it up. It’s incredibly tedious due to a poor app, and Roomba might be more worth the money.

ECOVACS Home app has setup bugs
I tried setting up new Ozmo 930 using this app and failed. It has 4 screens of simple setup instructions. Followed exactly as indicated and yes connected to 2.4GHz. 4th page instructed to go to settings..WiFi and choose ECOVACS-xxx then go back to app after it connects to finish setup. When I go back to app it just stays on 4th page where it instructed to go to settings..WiFi with no activity status. After a long time it comes back with a failure error. Customer Service was no help due to language barrier guy had a heavy Asian accent. Now I was able to set things up using what I assume was previous app version named just ECOVACS. I kept explaining that to the guy but he was not getting it. Haven’t even used the vac yet, wondering if I should return if Customer Service can’t fully understand their customer’s language they are to support and buggy app. Forgot to mention I have a iPhone 7 iOS 11.4.1 if that matters.

Worst promising product
One of the worst and overrated and overpriced product which claims to have all the technology is available but can’t map properly, can’t even go 1/4” mat and always gets stuck, can’t empty the dustbin, can’t go over bar stool, etc etc. Mopping is another biggest disappointment because if the vacuum wasn’t done properly all the dust would be spread with water droplets from the vacuum. Will never recommend and since I bought at a high cost I am still using it else would have trashed it long time ago. Would not recommend this N8+ Pro. Still wondering what’s the PRO in it. lol
