since having this app on my phone it’s been amazing to be able to watch shows and movies for free there haven’t been any complications to using this app which is pretty amazing to be honest this app deserves tons of praise and tons of new users to enjoy it ! in addition to that I think this app should also have shows and movies added at least once a day that will keep everyone’s interests in this app plus it’s just gonna draw more good attention to it so I advise you to listen to me and do it you won’t regret this !!.
I am streaming this on my LG TV digital channels. I also have the app on my devices. You finally made a channel for Unsolved Mysteries. Here’s the thing…I am fine with 2-5 ads for free service per break. But NO! You guys put in a break mid sentence of the show, place like 5-7 ads and then come back for about 10 seconds and THEN place a splash page stating “You will be right back” AFTER you just showed 5-7 ads!!! WHAT??? You get about 7m of the show and about 15m worth of ads AT EVERY BREAK and there are countless breaks per eps! Literally unwatchable. It’s actually comical when you think about it. I watched these when they originally aired and even then they didn’t have the INSANE ad interruption that you have. Great app but the ad usage is just too much. And Yes I have other choices and ways to watch but if you own these, one would think using the main source would be the advantage. I am sorry but NO THANKS! Your service is just too high of trade off for “FREE” service. I would gladly pay for an ad free service to get out of this nonsense. It takes twice as long to finish an actual eps because of the ads! You get 2 stars ⭐️⭐️for content and a NEGATIVE 5 for the ads. Call me when you get a real streaming service. SMDH
THE REVIEW AT THE END APPLIES TO THE APPLE TV App. The app on iPad works great no problems. It’s good and works wonderfully... well, except for not having a “watchlist” and remembering your prior searches. If you want to watch the next episode in a series, you have to re-do the search again. Not that much work,but seems like it ought to be easier to pick up where you left off. NOW, for the “APPLE TV APP” - I don’t mind the commercials, because you gotta pay for the rights to show the material. But there’s got to be a better way. In the commercial break, the same commercial plays 3 times in a row back-to-back, and then, when the show starts again, it goes back to the beginning! You have to fast forward to where you were when the commercial break occurred... that is, if you can remember the precise location. The commercial breaks happen right in the middle of a scene, also - not at more normal times. I DO APPRECIATE, however, the programming that is available, and it is easy to search, navigate, etc.
Great selection of shows on this App, BUT… there’s no way to sync where you leave off so that if you pause a show or turn off TV when you turn the TV on again or unpause it it will NOT hold your place. That’s right if you pause something and come back five minutes later it starts over at the beginning or brings you back to the home screen. No way to favorite a show & No Way to setup or save a WATCHLIST! This is barbaric! Really Devs, save my spot and let me create favorites and a watchlist. Good selection of movies & shows but come-on NEED BASIC FUNCTIONALITY LIKE SAVE PLACE, WATCHLIST & FAVORITES LIST. I use app on iphone ipad & apple TV, logged into same apple id, app doesn't communicate to my other devices w what shows & where i am on one. Maybe create a user account login thing or something to facilitate saving favorites and holding our place on the shows?
I like the simplicity of this app. The quality of the movies. The pleasant trips back down memory lane with some of the older TV shows. I highly recommend this app, the fact that it’s free truly is mine blowing. Like my title of this review states, so far enjoying beyond words I highly recommend this app. I truly wish I could give it 100 stars.
Great app, but one feature that missing should really be fixed. Many Filmrise shows are great to listen to, as radio type shows, to relax. On other apps that feature their shows you can listen with the screen off. But on this app featuring their own shows, you can’t. It should really be fixed. A lot of their shows are older, maybe the video effects aren’t as great as new shows, but the plot is great and they make great relaxing radio shows to listen to around bedtime. Please fix and make it to where you can listen with the screen off and I’ll give 5 stars!
Good selection. Ads oddly placed and blast volume.
I find a number of shows to watch and the streaming is clear. No issues so far with the app on iPad or iPhone (only versions I use). The ads cut right into the middle of a scene and I often see the same ad more than once in a grouping. Ads sometime blast the volume making me scramble for the remote to mute. It’s annoying to have to drop the tv volume from level 18 to 4 for those random ads that scream at me.
Offers great content that is commercially supported. The commercials run in random parts of the shows and not where they originally ran. In any given commercial break of 5 commercials, the run the same commercial over and over. The audio level of the commercials varies from spot to spot. The app sometimes doesn’t remember where you stopped watching if you pause mid show. If you are watching a series it doesn’t move on to the next episode after finishing one. The digital quality of the programs is excellent.
I like FilmRise I noticed they get some great movies but all the other ones are like C rated i’d like to see Little House on the PrairieJust by watching other networks in the movies theyPick is a clue on best movies to watch it’s pretty simple FilmRise you can take a lesson and maybe you could get the great movies best movies popular movies classics like the rifleman how about hogans heroes how about Clint Eastwood movies just to name a few I would go five stars but I think with a lot of the C rated movies yeah I can’t go five star
I was excited at first with the service because 2 of the films I Love, were suddenly available to watch. When I went to try and watch them again, they were gone, or no longer available. I also wanted to purchase one and it too wasn’t available, even right after I had watched it. I also wasn’t able to download another film at all, or even purchase it. Strike 3. So, I may cancel my membership before the 30 day trial.
The only thing that detracts from FILMRISE is the fact that there are a very small amt of movies available compared to other channels. That makes it seem very small in number. I wish there were more movies and TV serials in which to choose your entertainment. Other than that, it is terrific. The movies, the TV episodes are GREAT. In other words—it’s WONDERFUL. Ty for the download.!!
Really.. this app, i download to watch movies, television is by far the VERY WORST! yeah THE WORST! when watching, it suddenly cuts off, commercials freezes, you hear sounds that aren’t relevant to the program you’re watching, this piece of junk even SWITCHED to another another movie! goes back AND forth in commercials while trying to watch this thing! You developers have a useless piece of JUNK you want people to watch! I see why its “free” promoting this junk.. you get what you download! an app whether for tv, or on your device is FUNCTIONALLY SCREWED UP. You’re lucky you get even ONE lousy star. Reality 0!
I like this app most of all because there’s not very many commercials it’s ok to have commercials because they pay the revenue for the provider but having to many commercials makes the feeling of having network tv sure network tv is ok but today there is just to many commercials and I hate that
Easily the simplest and most accessible of the streaming apps no signing up no logging in no registering no bs just click it open and watch tv it automatically plays another program after one is finished plus with more tv shows than most other apps and a huge selection of movies to watch I highly recommend this app. 👍 👍
Poorly done app Glitches are annoying , app resets , freezes and sometimes throws you back to main menu . I have gone through to verify all updates are done too. I don’t have this issue with other apps just this one . I love a lot of the shows that are on here and want to watch it but it becomes difficult when it’s plagued with issues. Hopefully it gets figured out .
Yes on Apple TV there is a glitch, but it pales in comparison to the quality and selection available for free. Gadzillionare Bezos is charging $3-$4 an episode for the same content. It is really impressive that Filmrise offers these videos during the pandemic. FYI, the glitch is the 🚫 sign coming right after the symbol for the ad in the beginning of the video. I downloaded this app about a week ago after learning it had one of my favorite foreign shows, and so far I have no problems. I’ve seen a few people comment about ads, but I must be very lucky because I’ve only seen a few ads at all.
Happy that someone thought of this app, I have wanted to see these movies and series return to Television for years because they are clean to look at especially for our children,I can appreciate this app for as long as it continue to excite!! I’m going to enjoy this app. Thank you Apple for having the app in the Apple Store.
Just downloaded this. I have 5+ other streaming services that I get around on with no user issue. This one does not make any sense whatsoever to me. Under each category, all of the titles are read together as one, and then in the place of where the title should be it says “icon addwatchlist”. Add something to watchlist. Go to watchlist. Click on the title. Nothing happens. Just make it so underneath each category there is one title at a time that you can click on. change it to be more obvious from the start.
I just signed up for this app but it is not loading any content either through the Apple TV app or directly. Trying to watch on my iPad. Reinstalled app and Apple TV app. There is nothing wrong with my WiFi or the Apple TV app - everything else works. All my other streaming apps work fine. And, the link to “support” on the App Store just goes to a developer website (FutureToday, Inc) for investors and advertising. No user support anywhere in the app so not showing any regard for user experience. Very disappointing.
Just came across this app and while it has a lot of good choices, there is no description of any shows or movies; no favorites list or any way to bookmark anything. Also, when doing a search for tv shows, the episodes show up out of order, so you have to scroll thru the whole list, which could be problematic with a tv show with many seasons. It’s a good start but can be improved upon.
Disappointed to find Filmrise throws commercials into the middle of a show at random. It just disrupts the story and makes the whole thing a waste of time. Commercial breaks should follow the structure of originally aired shows as closely as possible; for movies, they should be placed at appropriate breaks. This might require hiring people to watch and time the breaks. I’d gladly watch commercials if they’re properly placed. I’d gladly pay to remove ads if that were an option. Pluto has the same problem. Sad to see Filmrise following their lead!
I have Filmrise on my iPad,cell phone, and t.v. I have never had a problem with streaming on any of them. The picture is always sharp and clear. And Filmrise doesn’t overload my senses with long commercial breaks. I highly recommend this station/app. There is something for everyone to enjoy! All I can say is I “Luv it Luv it Luv it”!
Too many commercials that break in the middle of a sentence every 5 minutes instead of the during the natural commercial break. The same commercial over and over, nothing worse than watching the same one several times. What happened???? You are having commercial breaks every 5 minutes of show! That is really unacceptable, please try to fix it. It seems the more I watch, the more there is an increase in commercials.
I grabbed this app when I saw the old Robotech episodes had been released on it. I am using it on Apple TV and the advertisement functionality is terrible. It will break in the middle of a scene, play the same ad 3 times in a row then play a different one, and the real issue, when it returns to the show it freezes. When trying to restart it after the freeze it goes back to the beginning of the show. Really ruins the experience.
I wish captions were standard since there many viewers who are older and hard of hearing... and in English , because just because the last name is Hispanic it does not mean we can read Spanish .
This app performs as well as any other streaming app however I cannot understand why there is no search feature. It’s nice I guess to have every conceivable genre broken out with movie suggestions but to me it’s easier to just use a search feature. If it had that I’d rate 4 stars. Thanks
This review is for the Apple TV app. I don’t mind commercials. In fact, some of the commercials are actually quite informative. I just don’t need to see the same ones 3 times in a row. Also, when pausing the seeker sometimes goes back to the beginning after the last commercial. Very annoying.
While there seems to be a really good selection, I find the functionality to be lacking. I would like to be able to see info about the movie before starting it and bookmark any potential choices. The ads are truly excessive. It takes 68 minutes to watch a 52 minute show. And that’s proving you don’t need to leave it for a time and go back to it. Each time that happens the ads start again
If you were to make this a little more voice over friendly! I love this app but it is not as voice over friendly as I would like. The only reason my friend and I can use it is that we have some vision, I still choose the wrong epasoad whin comeing back to the app four out of five times. Besides that! It’s a wonderful app! Both my friend and I are mostly blind.
In the Apple TV app I used to be able to choose what episode I wanted and it would play that certain episode! Now it doesn’t… which is a bummer. I can’t find the exact seasons and episodes through the app and I find that as a struggle! To go back and look for the episode! Probably just a bug. But it bugs lol.
It’s 2021 and the most basic functions to save last played or last watched episode or add a watchlist is not available and yet the app was updated 3 months ago. This app has a fantastic catalogue yet lacking the above ruins the experience when trying to watch multiple favorites. Unbelievable!! Is anyone paying attention?
The only problem it freezes while watching a certain tv show after the commercials. Then it restarts the whole program over again can you please fix this problem?
5 star programming ruined by advertising frequency & placement
Filmrise has a fantastic library of movies and series. I will gladly watching advertisements in exchange for good programming. However, every 5 to 7 minutes there is 1:30’s of commercials that seem to be placed strictly by time rather than properly placing the ads by content of the program being watched. Hopefully Filmrise will listen to their viewers and correct the problem before they lose viewers.

Love the app. Great content. However, the Apple TV app restarts whatever I am watching over many times during a program. Movie watching is irritating because it restarts about every ten minutes or so. I read previous reviews from months ago and many are saying the same thing. I hope the developers do something because it’s a waste if time to watch anything. Commercials are fine but the start overs aren’t worth my time.
Within the last couple of days, the option to cast to ChromeCast is no longer an option. Why??!! Watching this app thru my iPad casting to my tv was my go to. Watching this app thru Roku adds a ton on repetitive and annoying ads. Five ads OF THE SAME PRODUCT OR ONLINE COLLEGE all back to back. So I guess if I want to enjoy this app on my tv I gotta use my Roku and mute the ads...
We need a trak feature so we know what episodes and movies we watched already and can you make each genre have there own page instead of scrolling right so we can scroll up and down like Netflix. And why doesn’t the iOS version of the app have genres to all your other filmrise apps like horror, action, suspense and so on?
It’s so nice to be able to open the “Filmrise” app and watch one of the many programs available. The fact that it costs nothing is Wonderful too. I really Love Filmrise and I think that you will as well !

This app has good collection of TV Shows and Movies and they appear to load new content regularly. It was easy to install and use. No fee, No signup needed. Downloaded and used within a few seconds.
I’ve been using This app for more than a year and I’m surprised by the quality of movies and televisions. I enjoy British television, even though I’m not British, and Film Rise has a lot to choose from.
Found this app not too long ago and use it a lot to watch true crime dramas mostly Brit made. Please make this app and content available for PCs. It works well on the iPad, iPhone and Firestick but would love to have it on the PC. COULD YOU PLEASE ADD “THE EQUALIZER” TV SERIES? That would be awesome❤️❤️❤️

Out of all the good free ones like crackle, tubi, Pluto etc, the is right up there with em. I’ve only watched a couple movies but I have yet to see a barrage of the same commercials. In fact I don’t think I’ve seen a commercial yet.
I watch all my Forensic files uninterrupted on FilmRise. I have all the premium streaming services but they don’t have all the FF like FilmRise does. Probably because FilmRise produced the show.
I love this app. So many movies and TV shows. I am having trouble getting program descriptions. I get the shows and have gone to the I icon on the left of the screen with no luck.
Movies are interrupted by ads followed by your program will begin shortly. Doesn’t continue where you left off and you have to start the movie over. It makes it impossible to watch a movie. I doubt they care as long as they are making the ad revenue
