Naturally, the strength of one’s connection to the internet can vary so I’m going to review this based solely on the use of the app when it has a connection to the internet. The app is well set up- clean, simple, and well branded. When I say clean, I refer to the transitions between pages. I haven’t seen anything off in the transition of pages, so I believe it is functioning quite well. When I say simple, I mean that the app is simple to use. The various options to tap are clear on what they do, and in tandem with the insight on the clean-ness of the app, I can say with confidence that it works well. Jeffery Epstein did not kill himself. Throughout the iOS updates the past few years, I have had few to mostly no issues with the use of the app. When I say that the app is well branded, I mean that the FirstLight logo is prominent but not overbearing. I don’t feel that FirstLight is being shoved down my throat, but rather like I am being welcomed to use the app. I do feel a sense of pride when I think that I get to bank with FirstLight FCU through this app, and I believe that this app positively encompasses what it means to serve its client base. Whoever maintains the servers and works on the use of the app deserves much praise and a bonus if they haven’t already gotten one.
I have been with FirstLight for a long while! If not 30 years longer! My father had me sign up for bank service I believe at 18. Like a kid I never took banking serious other than it saves money and I never saw my money grow cause I never made money! I joined AirForce and when discharged it was then I realized how important banking was. People at FirstLight have always been so nice. If they came in feeling horrible and dying to go home? I never saw it in their facial features and it is the first thing I notice is body and facial features! Clerks inside, outside in drive thru are always so nice and smiling. Never leave FirstLight,,, NEVER! I even have my IRA with you all. Mr Reyes himself is so good at explains thing. We as consumers are quick to complain! But never find the time to say thank you, great job and or how satisfied we are and I am very satisfied. Just wish I could remember everyone’s name at Fort Bliss Credit Union to Credit Union on Lee Trevino. Maria in Auto Loans, receptionist at Lee Trevino, Mr Joe Reyes at Lee Trevino. I II always get and log out with ease. to FL in early 2020. This has no reflection on the entire staff at FL but they do need to monitor the employees closer. Another part is that I scheduled appointments on two different phone occasions, only to receive texts up to one hour before my appointment, to only have no one call and meet telephonically with me. Was there a reply I needed to do to confirm my appointment? The automated text only said contact to reschedule, other than that, appointment was confirmed. Let’s fix this feature because I am happy with you all. Margie
The absolute worst bank and/or FCU I have ever dealt with
When I lived local, it was ok. Nothing special just ok. As soon as I moved out of the area the nightmare began. They charge $15 for transactions from other Banks, that includes to make auto loan payments. You need to set up through the other bank to not be charged. The account number system is confusing to say the least. They close accounts that you have to have but require you to fill out paperwork to reopen it, why close it if I MUST have it?!?! I stopped doing business with Bank of America 15 years ago because for the copious amounts of fees they charge and cut throat policies but now I would rather deal with them than First Light, at least I can access my bank from anywhere in the world without out a hassle. It's a joke that they are on base a Ft. Bliss since once the soldiers move, they will need to jump through hoops to be able to use them like any quality bank. Do not waste you time or money here.
This app has never failed me, the functions continually improve for top notch user experience. The app allows me to manage my finances from discretionary income to bills etc... without issues. I rarely have to call and speak to a customer representative. My life is much more manageable with this app. TregaD
The app and system is a great idea. If you have an iPhone and try to do text validation for access to your money, you can forget about it. You have to do email validation. It has not worked in 3 years I have done online banking. Also, if you try to do Samsung Pay, you can also forget about it. That has not worked for the past 2 years. Their systems are inadequate to say the least. Also, the Gracie department will shut off your app and card on the weekends without so much as a phone call from them. I was traveling 2 years ago and almost got stuck 200 miles from home as the fraud department shut off my card and app to my money. Thank god I had a different card that could support me. If not for COVID right now, I would have moved my accounts.
The app updates like late, or something because I check my balance all the time before I make purchases to see if I need to transfer money and everything looks fine for available balance. When I get up next morning, it shows that the transaction, or transactions that I made last night were negative and it even shows negative balances “supposedly after each transaction” as it it showed it st the time of purchase. It doesn’t. Very fishy banking system. I’m closing my accounts and going somewhere else. Oh, and they are super slow with everything. Don’t plan on spending less than 30 minutes even for a simple transaction.
Some times the connection is bad but that’s just personally annoying for me. It’s not their fault. I love that it’s very quick and immediately changes whenever money is taken out of an account or added to it.
All the great operations of any other banking app for my hometown credit union. I can get alerts, balances, deposit checks and more right from my phone! Well done FLFCU!
Occasionally it will say I one one amount and later I check it changes to a different amount. First time I noticed is when I knew I probably only had 10$ but then it said I had 1,000 in my account. I knew that was wrong.... and it does this a lot. Many times it changes and suddenly I'm stuck paying over draft charges because I rely on this app. Never again though. Tired of paying charges when it's your app that's misleading.
i have an iPhone 11 Pro Max and i am no longer able to see my current balance in my wiget slide i hope you guys fix the issue. P.S yes i have uninstalled and removed the balance preview and nada no fix :(
I loved the way the app would display your transactions before the update. It used to clearly separate the pending and the completed transactions now it’s not so clear, I do love the app though makes accessing my account super easy when I’m traveling.
Takes forever to sign in, as it’s “loading”...then to complete a transfer, it’s “loading”.....omg. It would be faster to go to the CU and wait in line and transfer money! I hate that after a transfer, it doesn’t look like the money has transferred...I guess as slow as their system is it takes awhile for it to appear in the other account. Plus all the 5* reviews are from their employees. Haha.
I was promised new card by March 30, live chat on Apr 3, request never received. Call on Apr 5 spoke with Martha. Card finally received on Apr 7th. Truly frustrating and heartbreaking
It works well, it’s accurate, and it’s convenient. I like that I can transfer money quickly and easily. Only problem I’ve encountered is search for transactions, it doesn’t always work.
Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t. Kinda like everything else at FLFCU. Including ATM’s. And the good ole system outages. Granted it’s better than nothing so there’s that. Also I’m signed up to receive alerts. But doesn’t do me much good when the alerts come days later. It’s just kinda blah.
When I try to make a check deposit with my camera it stays blurry and unable to take the photo .When i procede to restart the app it mentions about the service being unavailable so frustrating
Unable to deposit check via app. The app says “Rotate your device to continue your deposit” but it does not recognize when the device has been rotated. I tried to delete and redownload app and issue was not fixed.
I have to submit mobile deposits multiple times almost every single time. It's really very annoying. I've never had such trouble with these at my other banks.
This version doesn’t let me deposit checks anymore. The camera function doesn’t focus. It’s not my camera’s fault because outside the app it works great.
It is very common now that I try to enter the app it tells me “We cannot display your information at this time” Please fix as I rely on the app for everyday transactions for my business and personal use!
All I want to do is check my balance and logging in immediately throws me onto a webpage of the main site instead of the app itself. Hire better developers.
So apparently I can log in on my computer, but the app won’t let you. I just wanted to deposit my check yet I can’t pass the log in even with the correct information.
Every time I make a purchase it take a week for it to go through! It’s very annoying and frustrating so I worry about if my account would go negative or not!!
