Went to an Apple Store to upgrade my phone and was talked into this program…which I do not qualify for…and then told my account was being suspended and I would have to switch back to AT&T…I’ve been with them for over a decade, grandfathered in since they took over Cingular, and now I’ll have to pay more for multiple lines I don’t need and out of money I spent on an IWatch and IPad I didn’t need because it was a “good deal” for a triple line I didn’t need but would have for a greater discount. They shut off my phone service and told me I would have to travel an hour away to a store that could switch out my SIM cards back to the AT&T service. While also paying more since they cancelled my grandfathered in contract…took them 3 months to cut off my line because they weren’t sure I qualified for this program, now I can return anything and am out over a grand….proceed with EXTREME caution!
The app is useless and so is their tech support. 2FA is just as bad as trying to login FirstNet’s website. The website say’s call support, but they can’t do nothing about it. The best they can do is tell you wait 24-48hours, WTH!! This is suppose to be the first responders service, but it seems it’s just another service like BoostMobile or Cricket. T-Mobile has better support than these guys!
I think all the bad reviews for this app are happening because people don’t know what the app is for or don’t know what FirstNet actually is. All it is is a program for first responders to allow them priority access to the ATT cellular network in times of extreme customer usage. So for example, a level bazillion flood covers the eastern half of just North Carolina. Everyone there needs a boat and is using their cell phones to fine one. This clogs up the cell network so those in the business of saving lives and delivering critical aid have trouble connecting with their cell phones. Enter FirstNet. If you’re an approved first responder AND have a FirstNet SIM in your device then, basically, you have the ability to bump someone else off the cell tower so that your call, presumably more important, can get through. That’s it. I followed the 2FA instructions in the email I received and everything worked as advertised. Not sure what all the whining is about.
This app doesn’t allow you to do anything. I am actually not happy with FirstNet since switching and moving myself from our family plan. My service is definitely not any better. I don’t really see a benefit for first responders to have this service. Very disappointed and feel as though I was misled.
One of the worst and useless applications I’ve ever messed with.
What were the developers trying to accomplish with this??? I can’t even log in, and in the past when I have logged in the interface is trash and not intuitive at all. The support for first met is making me regret my decision to switch over to them.
I received an email from FirstNet letting me know that I had to set up 2FA for my account and wanted me to download this app. I downloaded the app but am unable to login to it. Every time I try to login I keep getting an error message that says, “Something isn’t working. Please try again.”
This app is a train wreck. The initial login doesn’t take advantage of the password vault integration that pretty much any iOS app leverages these days. And once you switch back and forth a couple of times to copy and paste your password manually, the SSO doesn’t even work! What a waste of time.
Both the UX that firstnet provides on both their website and whatever this app is range from non-existent to absolutely terrible. I’m really surprised firstnet is still in business. They duped a bunch of us first responders into joining and most of us forget just how bad getting anything done with their service is.
This is required to get into the FirstNet account but it seems that I am not the only one that cannot sign into the app! This is pretty sad that a company like AT&T cannot build a simple 2FA app to work correctly!!
How can anyone screw up 2FA this bad?! Does not work. I can’t access my account now. I’ve never seen such a complete failure in 2FA. I just want to use another app for 2FA tokens like every other service allows.
Apparently I’m now required to use this app to login to my FirstNet account but it’s not working. I hope this gets resolved by the time I need to pay my bill. So dumb!
My first net said I need to use this starting tomorrow and I can’t log I to it. constant error messages. useless and dumb. why is it mandatory and unable to work
So in theory this app does what iOS and Android devices have been doing for years. Consolidating passwords and what not to allow you to sign in to multiple services. But that’s where things go off the rails. This app, once you go through the frustrating process of logging in, will then be finished with its duties. That’s quite literally it. It’s an app designed to so nothing. But unlike Seinfeld, which had a similar premise, this app is in no way a hit.
Why not simply log in from the Assist app? This seems like a pointless endeavor. Also, why is there no ability to save a username or log in with Face ID?
As a FirstNet public safety professional, you know that every second counts. So why waste time? Save seconds. Save lives. FirstNet SSO lets you focus on work, so you don't have to log in over and over for network and app access. Simply enter your credentials in FirstNet SSO when required to get immediate access to: • FirstNet Assist • FirstNet Central FirstNet SSO is available for use by verified FirstNet users. Requirements for use include: • Valid FirstNet ID • FirstNet Ready™ device or FirstNet Capable® device • FirstNet SIM (FirstNet SIMS are included with FirstNet Ready™ devices.)
