The title is not an exaggeration. Through multiple credit cards, multiple brokerages, crypto, a checking account, and a savings account, I have a lot of banking apps on my phone. Franklin Templeton is the worst one, and that’s by a long shot—it’s not even close. Obviously, somebody has to claim that honor, but the gap shouldn’t be this big. For example, I like the fidelity app slightly more than the Schwab app, but some of that is just preference. Comparing the Franklin Templeton app to either of them feels like comparing an NFL player’s athleticism to a middle school art teacher’s. It crashes. It glitches. It bugs. And once you’re lucky enough to actually log in, you can’t do anything except check your balance. You can’t even see a chart, just the numbers. Forget trying to read anything about a specific fund you might be researching, you’d be better off flying to Wall Street and asking the first successful looking man in a suit that you see on the street. They have improved it slightly in the past year, but it feels more like a half-baked placating attempt rather than a genuine endeavor to actually improve the situation. I don’t know about you, but I want the person/people who are holding/managing my money to have a genuine desire to improve situations…. My fund with them has done well, though! But that has nothing to do with the app, does it….
It definitely shows that this is the first iteration of the app. Interface is basic. The information you can look up on your accounts is basic. Also not entirely accurate. There’s a bug that shows my buy transactions are listed under one fund, and all my dividend transactions are listed in another fund. The way this was set up, you’d think this was someone’s senior year capstone project. Not sure why this was released to the general public in its current state.
This is a pretty low effort app here. You can see balances and I suppose make some trades. 15 years ago this would have been ok. A company that asks me to put hundreds of thousands of dollars in today should have higher standards for themselves. The iPad app isn’t even rescaled for the larger screen, so you’re looking at the iPhone app in the middle of a sea of black. Product managers obviously aren’t watching.
Repeatedly opened app, performs Face ID then crashes. App is useless and have to login via computer. This company has how many billion under investment and they cannot provide a basic service every other financial institution has no problem with. I need to move my money, this reeks of incompetence.
How the heck can I trust you with my money if you can’t even develop a simple app? It’s 2023. Get this fixed or I’m moving my money. And don’t ask me to call a 1-800 line, this is your issue, not mine to waste my time on. I’ll give you a week.
I can barely use this app with my reading glasses. The font choice is terrible. To add to this, the developer made the default font size at 8?! WTH! How does Franklin Templeton expect their clients who were born before 2000 to use this app without a magnifying glass? This is an easy fix. Please do this soon!
Registered this morning and already have an issue. App doesn’t recognize information used to set up account and locks you out after one attempt. I am all for security but give me a break.
App “let’s verify your phone number” But it doesn’t give you enough spaces; also won’t let you proceed without all numbers. No thanks!! If the app is This Dumb, I don’t have enough time to waste with it.
Just opened an account with this company to find out their app is garbage. I cannot login at all. A multibillion dollar company with the worse app. Shame.
Awful for a large financial institution. Embarrassing. It’s beyond horrible. I’m actually going to move my funds to another fund manager this is a disgrace.
Cant even log into the app because they won’t send me the text verification code. After reading the reviews it looks like this has been an issue for at least a year…apps are common today. Not acceptable for an institution like FT.
Keeps giving a “session expired error,” even after closing out app and logging back in. Also tried deleting and re-downloading the app, but I still get the same error code upon signing in! Please get some developer help!
I can’t get past the opening screen. It says l need to install the latest version. As there are no updates available, l just deleted the app l had and downloaded a fresh copy from the App Store. I thought maybe mine had gotten corrupted. Still getting the same error message after the fresh install. 2/18/2022 The app is now working
