Easy booking, but has issues
I booked appointments in Redmond and received email confirmations with the address of the Bellevue salon. The app shows the appointment to be Redmond, which is correct, but there are issues with the email confirmations: 1) The appointment booking email confirmation should indicate the correct address of the salon with the appointment (and maybe a link for directions). 2) When rescheduling, a courtesy email confirmation of the new appointment should be sent—I received no email, and had to check back in the app to ensure that the change process had worked. 3) When cancelling, a courtesy email confirmation of the cancellation should be sent—This was another instance of having to re-check the app to ensure that the process had worked and the appointment was canceled. Another concern is Location services. I have selected Location services are allowed only When Using the App, not Always. Now I see in the Tutorial that Self Check-In requires Location services to be set to Always. There is no reason that Gene Juarez should require access to the location of my phone at all times, and pinging my location Always uses battery unnecessarily. The Tutorial is unclear as to payment instructions, but hopefully the payment process will be obvious when I have the appointment—Not sure what the “Agree” button does since the Tutorial makes no explanation of what terms are being agreed upon. The booking process is generally pretty smooth, with availability options easily visible and selectable. Selection of a stylist is a little clumsy, but it works. As you get more time, it would be great to add detail to the app: There is no explanation of the different service options available and what they include—what is a “Calligraphy Cut”? What is “Foundational Expert Curl” vs “Curl Expert”? The nail services are a long list, without explanations. I know you all are working hard! What you have accomplished with this app, and the new service processes post-Covid, is really impressive for such a short time. As a client, all your efforts make me feel that Gene Juarez will adapt well and thrive in “the new normal.” It is obvious from the emailed process that every aspect of service has been well thought out, and I look forward to continuing with Gene Juarez as I have since 2004.
