Easy investing thru the app, but it only allows bulk investing on a cluster of offerings. You can't pick the properties to invest nor customize the distribution of the investment amongst the different offerings. It does not allow to invest in GF notes either. It still has a ways to go to offer the same functionality and options of the web site, but it's a good start. I hope it keeps adding things and improving
The rate of return is just about as advertised, in my experience, which is great. What puts me off is how they try to trick you into thinking your investments are doing better than they actually are and how “features” like the diversification meter give the impression that if you don’t invest more money then your portfolio is doing progressively worse. To make things worse, throughput all of their metrics they mark the return of principal as gains, which isn’t how that works. Putting $1 in and getting $1.01 back doesn’t mean a gain of $1.01, it means you gained $.01. All in all, Groundfloor does as advertised but beware of the scummy tactics they use to try to get you to invest ever increasing amounts of money.
I’m surprised how this company gets away with downplaying the risks so much. Sure, it's “less” risky than other real estate investments, but a loan can end up in foreclosure and you can lose principal. The company has never been through a declining housing market, so all we know is that they've show excellent results in the hottest period of housing in history. I'm a customer of several years and have had 2 bad loans out of a few dozen. I'm not saying to avoid investing, but make sure you understand that while it's relatively safe, it's possible to lose money.
Look, it’s an excellent app! Pretty sure there’s little or no fees for investors. And it’s a very generous sign up bonus when you invest your first 100, BUT…. May you please work on making the app less buggy? I am trying to use the app and it is really hard! Like it’s so glitchy and slow. I’ve tried restarting the app and logging in and out, and still horrible. Everything else is really good though, and I am loving my first few days so far!
I love the platform but this app is obviously someone’s side project after they put their 13 kids to sleep at night. There’s 0 thought put into the actual user experience and just about all the core features are missing except transfer money into your account from your bank account. You can’t view your loans except the expected return rate/grade. No investing in loans individually. No transfer from auto investor account to regular. It signs you out every other day it feels like. No ability to view other offerings by Groundfloor like 401k and notes. It’s just pointless Basically the only reason to use the app is to look at the pie graph of your investment summary, or if you don’t care about what you’re investing in and just trying to shove money at different loans. 2 stars only because it doesn’t crash like a lot of other bad apps — probably because it has no functionality
It’s a good app. The more you invest the more you make though I will say this really shows the massive wealth gap in America but it’s a good investment app if you can wait a few years so more of a trust fund for your future kids then a livable income unless you have a lot of money
This would be a great app if they were realistic. They’re expectations never go as planned. I was supposed to be paid out months ago. Upon checking the update on what’s going on with MY MONEY there is yet another setback. I thought i had the option to pull my money out early with just losing any potential earnings. At this point that is fine with me i don’t care about the little $60 your going to pay me after 7 months! I just want my OWN money back .. now.
This app has a really nice look and feel but is really only designed for the entry level investor. There is no listing of the individual LROs and it does not show anything about the notes available on the website. It doesn’t even show my full account balance because it ignores the money invested in notes.
I can’t believe how easy it is to invest on this app. But here I am, a year later. I’m thankful for the simplicity and content with the numbers. Keep it up Groundfloor. Who know’s, maybe I’ll utilize your other services in the future.
I started small since I’m a bit cautious and skeptical in general about new investments. After a year of easy investing and great returns, I’m very pleased with how my money has grown. Love the referral program; I wish I had more friends to refer! ;)
I was an early adopter and the investment product is great. I’ve earned 11.6% so far. The app gets better week after week and I can’t wait to see what is added next.
Very basic functions only and mediocre performance
I don’t like using the app because of how laggy it is throughout. I use it just to check weekly repayment and reinvestment through the auto investment program. Everything else is either not possible or too clunky.
Everything else from Groundfloor is great. Not sure why the mobile app is so bad. Login doesn’t persist, the layout doesn’t adjust when toggling images on/off, and there’s no detailed breakdown of my investment performance, history, how much I’ve invested in each LRO, at a glance. Not useful, I’ll just use the mobile website.
I want to see a list of all the listings like the website and a tutorial for new people to know how Groundfloor works. Overall I love it, but it just needs more
App looks great, but simplifies things too much when it comes to the investment offerings for those who’d like to be more selective on choosing properties. The websites flexibility mixed with the clean, straightforward design would be a five star app.
The app is simple & plain - no concerns there. However, their money management is uses an unreliable & broken system which cannot be repaired. So if you put money in and there suddenly a disconnect with your bank account, there’s no way to get your money out - not even by check.
Updating a previous review, out of 2 Investments with 1 month Terms, after 7 months 1 of the 2 has finally paid the 10% APY, the other loan is in default. Not really what I expected with my first 2 loans on Groundfloor
I’ve been using this app for about 7 months. I started with $1,000 just to try it. I’ve since set up a $10 weekly recurring transfer (nice feature). Now I’ve got a well diversified account with 481 loans in it. My account value is up to over $1,400, including $61.32 in accrued interest. My portfolio is turning over nicely- the app tells me I’ve had $782 of my invested capital returned, along with $29.47 in interest, for an 11.7% rate of return. I’m now getting repayments every single week, almost every day. And I hardly had to do anything to get all that, not even pay a fee. This app just keeps getting better. Keep it coming!
I am surprised Groundfloor still have not enabled biometric based login and it cannot even remember user/email id, need to type in every time one wants to login.
Please, please, please, create a functional app. I don’t know what the goal was for this app, so maybe you’ve met it and therefore it was a success, but it’s basically useless. Just use the web version, even on your phone. App is useless
The app is good for looking at your balance. If you want to use it for investing you have to use a pre-made strategy you can’t pick and choose properties. Needs work.
The new flywheel portfolio is not the the same. It’s turning into a REIT basically. It used to be a way to invest in real estate, but now it’s becoming a stock. If something is going good, it won’t last. I highly don’t recommend it anymore.
I use groundfloor and I kind of like it. But I wouldn't call it low risk since the payments are rarely on schedule and the extension/default rate is super high. I usually got paid at the end though. I'm not a fan of the app but it's a start.
Other than the fact that the app looks and operates like it was developed by a toddler, it’s an ok experience. I started moving money out to get better returns elsewhere.
