App NEEDS an UPDATE
Just downloaded this app so that I could pay our annual auto/homeowners’ insurance policy. I have not had much experience with the app but I’m aware of at least two significant issues that require fixes. Issue 1: I opted to use “Face ID,” which can be very convenient but perhaps not in this case. When using the “Log Out” feature the app does not automatically shut down, instead it quickly goes to Face ID scan, staying open. This glitch could pose a security risk, and is why I’ve assigned only 2 stars. Issue 2: Immediately after paying the bill the bottom of next page showed “Load Error,” which seemed to disable the Print feature. Although not my preferred method, I was able to take a screenshot to use for my files. On the bright side, all I had to do to initiate the app was to sign in. Our policy info immediately populated the app so that payment was fast and efficient. When the two above items are fixed I’ll be glad to give a high rating.

Updated: Service Unavailable Error
Update: I downloaded the recent update. No change. The issue I believe, is that this app will NOT work while using a VPN. Ridiculous! Please address this! This is a MOBILE app -meaning it’s used on public WiFi. A mobile app must work with a VPN or it’s useless to me and will be deleted. Even my banking apps work with a VPN. I haven’t been able to login to this app for months and months. It stopped using Touch ID and now I have to type the pw in every time. But it never gets past that screen and always gives the service unavailable error after spinning for several minutes. Hellooooo? Anyone at Hanover around?

Useful if it loads
This app is ridiculous in that it only loads half the time … wasting my time and putting me in a difficult position if I need the info stored on it quickly. I’ve even been on the phone with customer service and asked for information to be emailed only to find it on the app that I couldn’t open later. Also, when they did email a copy of my declaration page they sent in a pdf that I wasn’t able to open on my iPhone ( not an ancient model either )

Many app glitches
The app as a whole is great. However, it has way too many glitches. The Face ID does not work when trying to log in even though the toggle option is there. Once you manually log in the page buffers for way to long only to say there was an error try again later. Then after 3 attempts to get in it finally lets you in.

App has little bugs that need fixing
The app is easy to navigate but few things wrong. The app overlaps the iPhone X display. Also when you look at your insurance card, I have multiple names and cars on the insurance when I click on any car, it just shows the first persons name. That should get fixed, should have each car registered to the actual driver. Or at least all names.

Broken app
Bad app, it worked normally for the first year, once I changed my policy now everything in the app states there is a technical error. There is a contact us button for tech issues but I can’t click it due to the above error. You go to the website and there is nowhere to report an issue with just the app. Might as well just uninstall and use the web app. It’s been like this for about 3 months, I assumed it would fix itself but I was wrong.

The App worked!
I signed in OK today, so I guess the app is currently working. To review the list of policy changes, it’s listed in reverse chronological order, by category. So you have to scroll to the bottom of each text category to find your latest docs. I can’t change my coverage- you have to call them during business hours. If you want to contact them for anything you have to call them during business hours, no chat nor messaging available.

Needs a lot of work
App always says there is a temporary technical problem fetching your policy... problem is it’s not temporary it’s permanent... I haven’t been able to view my policy or even click on the contact us button since I’ve had the app for about 2 weeks now...this app needs to be taken down and taken back to the drawing board . It needs a lot of work ... only giving one star because it won’t allow me to post my review without rating with at least one star

Good mobile app and functionality
Nice app. Very impressive font selection. Easy on eyes. I can view all my policy details, pay bills, all related contact info for hanover, agents. Good information for roadside assistance too. But the app currently lacking Claims though. Hope Hanover will add this in future.

Unable to use App says SERVICE UNAVAILABLE
Every attempt I made to login to the app is followed by the message, “SERVICE UNAVAILABLE, This service is temporarily unavailable, Please try again later”. What’s the point in having an App if you can’t actually use it?!?! Find it extremely frustrating and unacceptable that an insurance company of this size can have such an unreliable way to have its customers utilize their accounts! Needs to be fixed!

Worst App I’ve ever used
This app never gets it right. I almost never can get into my account without getting a notification that services are currently shut down. By this time, you would think insurance companies got an app figured out. I love my policy. But goodness. This app to look up info and check documents…It’s hard to think of any other app less helpful.

Scary
I’m afraid if this is how Hanover/Citizens develops the tech aspect of the business this can’t bode well for the customers. Has anyone from Quality Control ever used this application? It locks up almost immediately, you can’t stop the spinning or even go back to previous screen ! Only option to delete app and reinstall, it’s pathetic. WAKE UP HANOVER and hire someone who can fix this mess .

Can’t Login To My Account
Can log into my account on a laptop browser, but not on iPhone 12 with this app. Not on iPad, with this app. Calling tech support a waste of time. Was told to reboot devices. Someone gets paid to provide that type of support? App always has trouble loading my account. Seems to be an old, and common, issue with this app.

Nonpayment of the claim
I’m still waiting for a claim that was put into Hanover last year in November 2022 I have called twice and have never got a call back and I still have not gotten a check for 2000+ dollars for the last claim I put I would like to be contacted by somebody there so we can clear this up so I don’t need to get a lawyer

Doesn’t work
I downloaded this app and set up a user name and password but it never let me in. It said it sent an e mail but I never received one. Frustrating. It puts you in a place that freezes any further action.

Poor Quality
The functionality of this app is horrible. Never wants to load when open. The insurance card listed only has the first person listed on the account not all that are covered. Need to get these issues fixed ASAP!

Can’t pay bills in the latest version
In the latest version of the app I can no longer pay my bill. After a long time out there’s just a small message at the bottom of the screen that says “Load Error”.

Fairly useless
Most people have automatic payments so the only reason for this app is to be able to produce your insurance cards digitally. Unfortunately you can’t do that. You can only have them mailed to you. What’s the point of the app then?

Literally unable to login
It just spins and spins and spins forever. Yes I have the latest version, yes my WiFi is working, yes I’ve tried force closing and reopening. This is so frustrating, all I’m trying to do is view and pay my bill.

Service unavailable. For all of 2020!
There is definitely something wrong here as the service is constantly unavailable and you can’t log in. I contacted my agent and she said this is a know issue. This has been going on all year! What’s the problem? Hire some high schooler who can code and fix this thing already!

Buggy app
Forces me to enter user name and password every time, even after I select "Remember Username", and "TouchID". Takes at least 30-60 seconds, to load the details after login.
