Great customer service! Easy to use
I’m not going to lie 6 months ago I would’ve given 1 star but after going through customer service and getting my problems resolved I love HyreCar. My only suggestion would be to find a high quality renter. I had a car renter lie and say I was late so I had to pay a whole extra day, that was very frustrating and I was reasonably upset especially since I had returned the car on time, filled up the tank and cleaned it before returning while also having my friend accompany me so I can get a ride back home. There is no rating for the car renters, they just mark them all as 5 stars. So we can’t really leave a review or see other customers experience you will have to go through trial and error. I hope HyreCar fix their returning process so that when customers return their car that can be tracked. Otherwise everything else is great customer service doesn’t take too long to pick up and gives accurate information about their processes, as long as your respectful and keep following up you will have your problem resolved pretty quickly as well. Payment is quick and easy. Very affordable.

I discovered this app by Google search. I was at a downfall in my life after a car accident that happened. My car is now in the car repair shop to fix the damages and I needed a rental to help me with my everyday life such as work and getting my children to school so with that being said, I have to leave a review about who I rented a car from using the Hyre app. I’m from Carrollton Ga. Once I searched for a rental near by, I was recommended to several car on Hyre App. Sharnea B. Car stood out the most to me because first, it’s a gas saver. Second, I have never drove an up to date car in my life so I had to give it a chance for once and third, all the very cool technologies built in this car. My brother is who was maybe to take me to this rental. On the way there, his car broke down 20 minutes away. I called her and told her the situation and she came and brought me the rental car y’all and handed me the key once she arrived. She asked me was everything okay and did we get a tow and I replied yes. She is so great with communicating with me with information or anything that I needed to know while renting her car. She is quick to respond and very polite and understanding. I will always rent a car from her!! This is a great app to use due to the prices. I want to thank her a million times for everything she has done for me!! You’re the best 😁

Borderline ripoff
It took two weeks to get into the car I got because the owners are all so flakey and many of the cars weren’t actually available or the owners don’t respond at all. The car was filthy and unsafe to drive but I didn’t have any other options considering how hard it was to get and kept it for a week. It was over $50 a day total even though the rate for the car was only $28. The car also had been banned from usage by Lyft but I was able to get them to reactivate it for me somehow. Lyft is ok with it I guess but it’s technically not allowed which HyreCar doesn’t address head on. Most of the cars I don’t think can be used for Uber it seemed and didn’t have inspection papers for Uber. I was also promised a $75 gift card for my first rental but I still haven’t received it yet although it said you have to contact support to request it. That’s the next issue, support is nonexistent in the app. The chat function on my iPhone 13 pro doesn’t work at all and messages just disappear into a blank screen. So there’s no way to get a hold of anyone. I did however receive several phone calls after I registered and before I tried to start renting but after I got the rental I haven’t been able to contact the company is weeks. Will update this review if the gift card is a scam. I probably wouldn’t do it again unless I really had to.

Overpriced and Unprofessional!
When I First received my rental I thought it was a great concept I was able to pick the car that I would like to drive and still be able to make money. Boy was I wrong. First of all the rental fees are ridiculous I rented a car for 55/day with the fees added to 80/day. In addition, on the day I returned my rental the owner never ends the rental so I was charged another day. When I call customer service they have to reach out to the owner via email and wait for a response for them to process a refund. Wait it gets better the refund process takes 2-10 business days smh. After the incident I decided to give hyre car another try. This time this owner begins the rental before I pick up the rental. So I was paying for a car that was not in my possession. When I returned the car I informed the owner and drops the car off at his home. The owner does not end the rental and I was charged another day once again. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY BY ANY MEANS!!!! It’s not worth it instead of making money you will lose money. The system is designed to please the owner instead of the renter. Fees are through the roof and at with the mileage cap on the vehicles it’s impossible to turn any profit on the Uber or Lyft platform. I hope this company goes out of business so they can stop taking advantage of drivers. I will be reporting this company to the BBB and never renting from them again!

Can’t even reset password correctly
Basically I signed up gave me error saying does not match what’s on file (id just signed up how can it be incorrect if I haven’t even set it up yet) no login credentials since I haven’t made any and yet “does not match what’s on file”? Tried using a different email same disappointing frustrating result so I guess now I have two unusable accounts? fantastic. Get txt with (two at this point) welcome to HyreCar to help with COVID-19 we’ll send you a $ digital gift card etc etc click link opens app and back to no login does not match file error and can’t even reset password (check promotions tab in email if using gmail in my experience) and after awhile of trying to reset and getting the same error eventually the reset email stop even showing up to my email at all! HyreCar 👎🏽 DOA. Update customer service representative contacted me and was able to fix my log in issue bit of a rocky go but the outreach is much appreciated.

Horrible fleet of wrecked and dirty cars
Myself and family have rented from these people specially Kaira under HyreCar. Upon getting my car i was pulled over due to their tag being expired and the break light being out! The very rude and obnoxious lady that I had to deal with had to email me the tag for me to print out and put in the car doing their job. Their vehicles are old wrecked and dirty. I had to clean all of the dust and debris out of the car before I could even feel comfortable driving. They are rude and talk to you like you are a criminal when they are the crooks. They tried to charge 3 different cards including cash app that I used their system for bogus cleaning fees. BE CAREFUL They are fraudulent crooks you will do better going to Toro or any other place than Hyre car. If you are late on your payment or an emergency happens they try to threaten you as if they have the right to do anything they say they can do. The lady at Kayra said I would have a felony warrant and never be able to buy a house or anything in my life bogus idiots!!! Please please please if you rent from these crooks MAKE SURE you take pictures of all the damage outside of the car and how dirty it is on the inside before you drive off their lot!!! I currently work for a radio news-station and I’m going to dedicate all my power to letting people know about HyreCar!!!

Screwed up my car won’t pay
So Woman rents my car for a month and she wouldn’t pay for the last two weeks. They claimed that they would have to pay every day in advance or a week in advance but once they already have your car they have your car. Had to go to one of the worst neighborhoods and southside of Chicago to get my car. Sounded horrible was dirty beyond believe and had to be junked. I will never trust these people ever again. The people who rent your car can do whatever they want with it and not return it to you when they don’t pay. They would have to pay to get it but once they have it you’re at their mercy I will never trust these people ever again. She would refuse to return it and I had to go get it from the worst neighborhood in Chicago. Brakes went up on the car
I paid close to $400 to rent a car through this app for 7 days only for the transmission light to come on and it slip the whole time I’m driving. That vehicle was unsafe and should not have been able to be rented. I returned that because I purchased a car but I had to get a part put on so I got another rental believing that this time it would be better solely based on the pictures provided on the app. I got the truck and after 24 hours the air conditioning stopped working and the next day the brakes went up on me in the middle of doing 2 deliveries. I had to food so I had to complete them and then take the truck to the shop. I got there at 2pm and didn’t leave until 9pm and I was tired by that time and went to sleep. When I explained this I was informed that I would be given an extra day and a credit refunded to my account. To give someone an extra day is extending the rental to another day, not stating that the refund for that day was an extra day. The amount refunded was no where near the amount I missed out on from 2pm-9pm causing me to have to drive overtime. The transmission light came on in this one too and the inside side panel is completely exposed. I transport my family so to have rented a car and had to experience ANY SAFETY PROBLEM that I didn’t create is a PROBLEM!

Owner was rude
The receptionist for rent a ride was amazing and I would like to make that clear before anything else is said! Very nice and good customer service. That being said the owner of the business was pretty rude and disrespectful even with me being professional and respectful in return. The license plate flew off the car on the drive to my house. When I noticed I immediately called him asking how to fix the situation. He told me to just return the vehicle and with his choice of words made me feel like I was in the wrong and he did not want me to rent from them anymore. This resulted in me having to drive hours back and forth from Orlando to Jacksonville and get an Uber from their dealership in Orlando to another car an hour away in winter park. There was more issues in less than 24 hours of me having this vehicle than the whole 6 months that I had my last rental. That and to add the vehicle I had originally rented wasn’t even ready when I arrived for pickup which resulted in them switching me to this vehicle that I did not want and resulted in these issues. I would suggest looking at other places or individuals to rent from and only use this place as a last resort. They have a lot of options but it’s a big hassle and the owner isn’t exactly customer service oriented. Just my honest review. Again great receptionist just not very great management.

Cannot get phone verification bug fixes! Arghhh! :)
I have been trying for over a week, going through all of the recommended gyrations to simply get my phone number verified. If you cannot do that? You cannot move forward. They put you back on a carousel of asking you to do the same things: Log in, Log out, call in, upload screen shots, report, wait again rinse & repeat. When you do get a live agent on the phone or on chat? They state “There is nothing we can do to override and just verify you, go back in the carousel!” Lol So you do that again and if you get frustrated as to, as I said “Why is it so difficult to onboard your clients paying you all?” They told me I was being “unprofessional and rude” so the conversation was over? Lol Anyway, if, one day I can EVER get “Verified “ just on my phone? I shudder to think whats in store for me with a serious problem out in the field anywhere. Seems like a circle jerk, no wonder they were sued into oblivion, no focus on actually on boarding customers and actually having simple solutions to simple issues! If you want to make money? Get your customers onto the App!! Jesus lol Anyway, I no longer trust them. Proceed at your own risk. Oh! And if you keep asking them to help you? They just ignore you. So….I dunno lol

HyerCar - Stay Away Unless You Want to Be Taken Advantage Of
Stay as far away from HyerCar as you can. They allow piece of crap owners to rent piece of crap cars with damage and then doesn’t refund for all the issues with the car and even the owner. The owners expect the renter to cover all the maintenance when it’s the responsibility of the owner and then the renter has to fight them to reimburse for maintenance costs out of their own pocket. 5 cars we rented from and 3 of them had damage all over the car. The third car was a Nissan Rogue and not only did the owner always refused to do maintenance on the car but it had no working hard, no air bags, and the breaks failed which caused my boyfriend to get into a bad accident. The 5th car had no damage but the owner is complete rude jerk and his wife is extremely hostile. They claim to be Christian’s but they are far from it. From the constant demands for car payments, wanting double payments, and overcharging for tolls, we have had enough of hyercar and hyercar needs to be shut down. It’s not ok for owners to be rude, threatening, and hostile towards paying renters and reporting fraudulent accidents on the car that never happened just to get money. See ya in court! We want all the money back we wasted on renting these cars and more!

‼️DO NOT USE THIS APP‼️
Firstly, I’ve rented 2 cars through this app. The first rental was through a car dealership, which I thought was the best option but the “low tire pressure” light was on from DAY ONE! The transmission or engine kept jurking the car! Plus the raido went out and it was a 2017! I tried to contact both the dealer and Hyrecar to reslove the issue but NO LUCK and i was basically stuck with a car i could not use & no refund was issued.(I called my bank) The second rental was from an actual person. It was COMPLETELY filthy and the back brake light was on. I again contacted the owner and Hyrecar to document what was going on. It took a week later for the owner to contact but she had no solution. I asked her if she was going to fix it or if she wanted me to fix it and reimburse me with a discount of the rental equaling the amount i paid. She said YES, i finally get it done and now she’s telling me in order for me to get my money back(the discount) i would have to extend it for a week which WAS NOT my intentions. Hyrecar was no better telling me the owner had to approve of the reduced price even with SCREENSHOTS showing her number and her agreeing to the terms. Its been a PAIN IN HELL. Their customer service is HORRIBLE and im so glad I have my car back working! DO NOT USE THIS APP!!!!

Warning! Warning !
Warning please refrain from using this service !! Save yourself the headache ! I returned a car over 2 days ago to AMERIDRIVE and they still have not closed the rental out. I also requested a new rental from a different owner, which was accepted and I was charged for it. Since AMERIDRIVE has not closed the rental out I have not been able to receive the next car. This leaves me out of valuable time and money. It is the weekend and this obviously is the most fruitful time. They also did not give me the $75 dollar rental promo for getting my first rental. I have called both HYRECAR and AMERIDRIVE and neither have offered solutions for this issue. If you must use this faulty service avoid AMERIDRIVE (the company)at all costs. Their cars are low quality, filthy and not well maintained. Everything operates through a key box so you will never see a live person. Then my rental was not closed out because they claim the person who works at that site has a funeral to attend, and apparently they wont be on site for 5 days due to the funeral. They also said they have no one else who can close the rental out and neither Ameridrive or HyreCar has offered me anything but excuses for this inconvenience. I suggest you take your money elsewhere!

Worst nightmare
Don’t post your car , listen people with experience and make your decision . Go read forum and others comments . It is a reason why I said that. If you car get in a wreck as mine two car did , hyrecar will take 2 week to submit claim to York insurance , after one week York will pay you 50% of whatever they think is the value of your car , 30% will be pay by hyrecar and 20% or 2500$ is the pay from the renter . Hyrecar contract said this 2500$ is the deductible , but it is bs , they put this amount as part of the value of your vehicle , and good luck try to find the driver or renter after a wreck . They disappear . The only way is if renter have a good credit score , but 90% of renter are just second class citizen can’t find a job . They won’t honor their responsabilidad of the wreck , they will blame the police investigator , the street , the traffic light , the sky or the moon if they can , but they will never accept they are guilty of overnspeed etc . Hyrecar will let you alone and good luck after that . I’m trapped in this business but if you want buy my vehicles please let me know . But after I pay off my car loans I will sell them and start other business and stay away from hyrecar . You should do that too . Good luck if you don’t listen

I Don’t Get It
I don’t get it. After the fees for insurance, etc. are added in the cost of car ends up being twice the cost of the initially published price. This doubling easily costs much more than the same type of car rented from a traditional professional rental company. Perhaps the rates people are charging in my area (LA) are too high, which adds to the problem, but there are many other issues with the pricing model as well. If your primary car insurance or credit card cover rentals, it won’t matter because you must purchase buy Hyre’s $13/day policy. If you only need a car for the day Hyre still requires a minimum 2-day rental (at least in my area). Most traditional rental cars have unlimited miles, while many of the Hyre cars do not. Add in the quirkiness and risk potential of dealing with unknown private individuals instead of professional company - random cancellations, ability to charge unfair penalty fees, etc. it just doesn’t add up to being even a close decision. I appreciate the concept, but I think in the end this car share model just has too many parties trying to make a profit off the same transaction to make it an actual feasible alternative to traditional car rental. It seems to work for some people, but I have no idea how.

Horrible!!
I downloaded this app a few months ago and got the first time on yesterday I decided to book a rental to use on the DoorDash platform. I found two rentals, similar SUV’s with no open applications and decided to submit a request for both of them (they advise you to submit multiple requests to better your chances of getting approved). I figured two requests were enough especially with the distance I would have to travel to pick up rental. One of my requests wasn’t even in an hour and I checked back and it was already rejected with the reason not being listed because the owners reason is pretty much optional. The second request I was banking on and that one failed me too, once more rejected. I need a rental today and now if I want to try my luck again with this app, I have to wait until Sunday to pick up which is slowing down my money. I’m approved to drive and have never rented on the platform and then they use your picture from the the process of starting your background check as your profile picture smh not cool at all. This app seems pointless to me and as I finish typing I am already in search of another platform to use to book rental cars…

Has potential, off to a ROUGH start.
I really want to start by saying: FIX YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE! PLEASE!!! It’s absolutely horrible, I had to return my rental immediately because it stalled on me and caused someone to hit me exiting the freeway, and when I reached out about this the agent was painfully inconsistent in communication and even dropped off in the middle of the conversation after only sending two messages. About a week later another agent notices that the ticket hasn’t been closed and apologizes for the delay, but it’s been over 2 weeks since I responded to her with no reply. I’m waiting on a pretty big refund and it’s been almost a month, I had to reach out to my bank and handle it from their end instead. The person I rented from was kind but didn’t have up to date documents and the license plate numbers on the paperwork didn’t match the car. He did actually go out and handle those things when I pointed them out but still, you all need a better way of tracking UP TO DATE DOCUMENTS so we can get on the road right away AND fix your customer service before making any other new updates because it’s bad enough to make someone stop using your service.

Worst customer service ever
Called customer service about 20 times. Was transferred from one department to the next over and over and over. I was hung up on numerous times. I was told multiple times that there were no supervisors available. The car I rented broke down and wouldn’t start so I assumed they’d refund me for the days I missed although I was completely mistaken. They said they would refund then never did. They said that hyre car isn’t responsible for refunds and I need to contact the owner of the car. They truly have some of the worst, most condescending, rude, lazy employees and I wouldn’t touch this sad excuse for a company with a ten foot poll. Please stay away!!!!!! They will take your money, yes you through any problems never proving answers and ultimately leave you with no money, no refund and no car. If you talk to David in the claims department in Cali he will be sure to make your experience the worst it could possibly be and then hang up on you. Using this company to rent was truly one of the worst decisions I could have made. Use literally any other rental company!!!! This is not something you want to involve yourself in. Literally any company would be better than hyre car!!!!! Please take this warning seriously! Don’t get scammed!

I have had the worst luck with this company and reading the reviews, I’m not the only person who has wasted countless hours on the phone with customer service that is very no existing if you ask me. I have spent more then 5k in rentals with HyreCar*(Ameridrive). I have gotten cars that shouldn’t be on the road. I have rented cars and every time I get one there is something wrong. The last incident I found illegal drugs in car knowing that they charge a arm and leg for cleaning fees they had the nerves to charge me a cleaning fee of $45 for the smallest thing and I got a toll invoice for $1 they charged me a $20 admin fee more they triple my ticket costs. I have had multiple cars that have stopped on me with an issue. My last rental stopped on me and I kid you not it took them 41 days to get car out of impound and close out my rental. They will charge your account double. I had I’ve 26 charges that my bank found that was charge double. They will not help they should be sued and shut down. As I’m writing this I have been on hold for 1hr 45min that should tell you everything you need to know and this company & they just filed for bankruptcy so you be the judge.

Do Not Rent
Honestly the worst experience ever with renting a car. There is literally no customer services ever available through phone or chat. You have to wait long periods of time for responses and chances are the chat will end automatically. My first ride was a nightmare. Now the owner is saying I scratched his car. Newsflash I recorded both before and after vids to protect myself from something like this. Then sure enough the owner is trying to scam me out of more money. I rented the car for 1 mouth paid over 2k. The money hungry owner is lying and saying I scratched his car. I rewatch the vids and can confirm no new scratches. I have a feeling that I’m still going to be charged because the customers service is so poor that that instead of actually investigating they might just take his word for it. Customer service told me I had a claim and I should have received an email. I would have been completely blindsided and clueless had I not ask what’s going on with my account. To make matters worse not only was there no email. I had to email them proof of the videos and still no response. Unacceptable! Total waist and feels like a scam.

This car has no a/c upon arriving at the bussiness there were 2 gentleman outside then they had to call the lady to come that was going to rent me the car never once they said the car had no a/c after checking and getting the keys the sounds like a/c is blowing I drove a 1/2 block and turned around to there shop upon arriving the owner of the vechile was scamming to lock the gate of the bussiness the 2 men were gone out of site keep in mind all this took place just to go around 1 block so I asked her about no a/c she was nice enough to refund the money but it take 10 bussiness days to add back to your acct but I feel like truest I I had drove 2 blocks they would have been gone and I would have been stuck with a car with no a/c and later that evening when I was calling it a day I looked in my wallet and noticed my driver licance were not in there the only place I took out my driver licsbce were to give to here she for got to give them back to me I messaged her to tell her and she claims to have given back to me if she dud I would have but them back in my wallet I will just have to keep montering my creed it report but if anything goes fish with it I am looking for them

Ridiculous
After spending thousands of dollars on multiple rentals through this app, I found myself being charged twice in one day ,so naturally I disputed the duplicate charge with my bank. The customer service is non existent. Hyrecar then chose to block my access to booking future rentals indefinitely. I’ve easily spent about 10 grand collectively throughout all the years of using this service & this is how I am treated as a customer after being wrongfully recharged. Also the same company that I rented through has confidently given me two cars that have had 250,000 + miles on them and decided to die on me due to engine issues . My friend had to jump my rental four times after the Prius that I ordered decided to die on me in a McDonalds drive through . It was one of the most mortifying moments of my life and theft was no way I was going to pay $200 plus for a tow. It’s a great concept but is ran sloppily & unprofessionally. They’re quick to take your money but run and hide when a customer has any typical of transactional or safety issues due to many of these vehicles being beat up .

Not Giving Up!
I tried for 2 days to sign up. Pretty patient person overall;however, signing up was a test. Attempt after attend kept saying my last name must contain letters or hyphens etc. which I didn’t have any of them. Just letters. It would not allow me to edit or change my name, after contacting support I was told it was going to be fixed no problem, rep told me what to do. Nope, didn’t work . After a second call and chat help, customer service fixed the problem for me … so they seen my problem through till the end , when one team member didn’t fix it the next did. Customer service was a big help, now I’m attempting to try and rent for the first time. Looking forward to a long term relationship. Hopen for the best !

Do not post your car here. Hosted 6x. 4x has serious problems here. 66% chance of having serious problems from renter. One time got my car totaled and need to call police to return my car back. Owner still driving the car until called the sos system inside car. Spending 45 days and still waiting for collision claim. My insurance company totaled the car and HyreCar still not responding. 1x got 10 parking tickets got me to spend a day to fix it. 2x not returning on time and spend days to recover the car with renter and HyreCar. All have record. HyreCar does not helpful at all. They said both party need to handle with fair claim. If they will provide more assistance for owner to file claim, there will be way less trouble. Owners. Think of Uber driver can rent car way cheaper at FAIR. Why they have to rent here? They are all trouble drivers. Not responsible. They will mess up your car. Does not care about maintenance or had DUI or serious problems before. That is why they cannot own a car and cannot get a car through FAIR for $185/mo. I got 66% chance of bad rental experience. You might get worst. Again. Don’t list your car here

Worse car rental experience ever
I started a three day rental yesterday. The car rented wasn’t available so I was given a loaner car until another was available. Let’s start off saying I should have used better judgment but I was desperate for a vehicle. All the cars on the lot were dirty and looked as if there was something wrong with them. Anyway the loaner car had transmission issues so I was happy when I got the call saying a car was available. 1 hour into the ride with the new rental my son noticed that the radio was not working, later I tried to honk my horn an that wasn’t working, at on point I stopped an turned on the blinkers an when it was time to turn then off they wouldn’t. I was doing Uber eats and decided to head back towards my home, an the car just stopped working ( shut down ) on the highway. I spoke with the owner to return the vehicle in the morning an no one was there when I showed up. He told me to leave key in vehicle an lock doors an I did. Just praying now that he ends my rental today an I get some kind of refund back.

DO NOT RENT FROM THEM
This is a very bogus company I read it from down for about two weeks, I had already had second thoughts about renting from them when I met with the renter and the car was falling apart, he was trying to fix the problem by tiring the piece that was having from the car with zip ties, and he claimed that a previous renter had done it! My thing is if the previous renter had done something to the car and it was driver able, why Re rent the car! So I just rent ahead and rented and the brakes was totally bad and the owner knew about and he said it’s ok. So the siding on the car started to fall off 2 days later I called the owner and he said that was never like that but you can clearly see where tape was holding it up. Make a long story short when I returned the vehicle the owner had filed a claim stated I made several damages. Which is a total lie and I will never respect a company that goes against the customer. I called them way before all this played out. I am banned from renting I wouldn’t suggest anyone to rent from them.

System is flawed
I’ve rented with this company a couple times now and I’ve got to say it is ridiculous to have this company open. I rented a vehicle to take my family out of town and when I requested the car it went through within 15 mins which is great, however when I got to the car they told me I can’t take it because it needed a state inspection and I’ll get a moving violation. I called the owner to ask him why would he accept the rental request if that was the case and he told me it was the company. After that I decided to give them another chance about 2 months later, and the same problem the same way with a different vehicle owner. It gets better, “AS LONG AS THE OWNER DOES NOT HAVE ANOTHER VEHICLE YOU CANT GET ANOTHER VEHICLE.” Not to mention the select amount of places that somehow don’t even care about the vehicles they put out to rent. This company seems like they just want the money and doesn’t care for their customers/renters as they should unless you’re calling customer service to get your money back!!

They steal your money
Their advertisements of their cars are fake pictures. I got a car that kept shutting off, the sunroof would not close and well as all the lights was on in the car. The owner told me that he would give me a different car and that never happened until a few hours before the car was due back. However that car was worse then the one I had. I then told him I didn’t want that car due to it being nasty and unsafe. He then took that car and now refused to give my money back. I had a car that I was unable to drive and made the owner aware of it. I sent videos as well as pictures however I can’t get my money and now the company not even trying to do anything about. Hyrecar car is not a safe company to rent a car from no matter if you have the evidence to prove you was given a a broken car. I’m now forced to take legal action against this company when it was just easier to give me my money back. I will also go to social media and make everyone aware of this.

Non- reliable cars in New York
If your trying to rent a car please be careful with some cars especially in New York , my first time booking a car I contacted the owner and I couldn’t pick up the next day because the rear window was shattered , and the owner told me he didn’t know when his mechanic was coming to change the window - I had to cancel and luckily I was able to get my money back. The 2nd time I finally rented a car , was fine the first day , the next day the engine light came on. I tried contacting the owner but I didn’t receive an answer untill 4 hours later, after I got stuck doing grubhub and the car wouldn’t drive up a small hill. So I had to cancel the order , bring it back to the store and safely get back home. Had to drive under 10 mph , not only did I get scammed out of a rental , but the owner expects me to pay insurance fees for his broke car. WHEN ALL I DID WAS JUST DRIVE. Now I’m at a loss it’s horrible , HyreCar please do better. Oh and they don’t give refunds if you rent a bad car so your money gets wasted

Poorly set up
Seems I got the worst luck, I rented 3 cars from here and they’ve all been a terrible experience. I wouldn’t recommend this app to anyone unless they’ve exhausted all their other rental company options. Simply put, Hyrecar literally can do nothing for you if something goes wrong. My first car sounded like I was dragging iron man behind how bad the breaks were. As well as battery and engine malfunctions. Second car, man, this app is made for us to use these cars for Uber etc in your state. The requirement is that the car be inspected in the same state. This car had Denver plates With Virginia state inspection parked in Rhode Island. The epitome of no sense. It was not accepted so I did not use the car and I am yet to receive a refund. The car I’m in right now, comes with a nail in the tire. The window wipers don’t even fit the car. It is literally scraping the paint off the car, there’s no more paint where the wipers touch. I brought all these issues to hyrecar and ALLLLLL they can say and do is “sorry” LMFAOOO They do nothing to hold the owners accountable to make sure the cars are actually in good shape. They “trust” the owners LMFAOO There’s no way to check out the car beforehand without them taking your money. They have zero power in creating promo codes or do anything in general to make up for ANYTHING. God bless those this works for. This company promotes their owners to scam their user. I would be successful too scamming people.

Horrible customer service***** avoid!
The absolute worst customer service ever!!!!! They bug you almost daily to see if you’re ready/want to rent, to the point I blew up on them. Do they want me to contact them daily practically asking if they want to buy or sell a home? I think not. Not to mention super pricy, a $25/day car comes out to $45 a day with tax and insurance. Maven is cheaper, and FAIR is the best company you can rent from doing ride share, all you need is to link it through an Uber account. No minimum rides, drive for any company or however you like, and 70 rides a week w/ Uber you get a $185 bonus, or 120 trips for an extra $305, also if you rent a hyre car they will pay for your Uber ride to their location FYI! In my experience with Hyre not even with the customer service, some of their clients rent you BAD cars, and trust me when you’re trying to drive a 12 hr shift and you’re on your second passenger because the car is having mechanical issues, that is a problem. Just be careful there are better more affordable places!

I wouldn’t recommend. I rented a car from the app when I picked it up the car was much older than expected. It was a 2012. The car would cut off when I put gas in it and would have to crank it a couple times before it came back to life. I brought the car back before the allotted time and was still charged for another full day plus and extra $20 admin fee. I was charged $54 for gas fee although I was not aware I needed to fill the gas back up. A Toyota doesn’t cost $54 to fill up. After paying the fees I was told I could rent again. This time looking for new model cars. Went to rent and still blocked from renting. I wouldn’t suggest the site unless you desperate like the other reviewers said. Totally overpriced for cheap low end cars. Weekly rentals are $400 at the cheapest not including extra feees.. you can’t even make a real profit with paying over $400 weekly. Better off renting car through Uber.

Would not recommend
I won’t rent with this app again. Simply because the car I rented was not up to par. The vehicle I rented made noise most of the time I had it and while sitting still it shook. It clearly doesn’t need to be rented out, especially at the rate I was paying. The inside of the car was old and was peeling. I could’ve went to a rental company for the same amount with an updated car. This lets me know when I rent a car with hyre car I have no idea if the car will be a good car since the owners can rent out anything. 2nd customer service, which is via chat, was horrible. I tried to chat 3 times and each time it said you responded too late and closed the chat; when the chat rep never even came into the chat for me to respond to anything. That lets me know if I have a serious issue or concern there will be no one to help! Did not like the quality of vehicle, nor customer support. And I contacted support to see if I could switch the car so I was stuck with trash.

Please do not rent a car from here. The customer service from the vehicle owner are horrible. This was my first time renting from Hyre Car and it was a nightmare on elm street. The very first day the car started smoking and the wheel axle popped off. Thank God I wasn’t on the highway because I would’ve been hurt very badly. Also the owner didn’t care if I was ok she was concern about her car. Her name is Ayonna Harris she went on to blackmail me and she kept the car and didn’t even end the rental. I ended up paying for awhole day without even using the car. I tried to rent another vehicle but I couldn’t start my rental because she never ended the rental. Moving forward to said I can come get the car around 8pm. I am upset because after all that Ayonna did she call the police and said I never returned her car smh. I would never recommend this car app to anybody. I preferably wish I would of read the reviews before I rented a vehicle through Hyre. DONT EVEN WASTE YOUR TIME!!!!!!! OR MONEY!!!!!!!!!! UBER DRIVER’S BEST FRIEND!
I’ve used HyreCar twice now. Never a single issue. They have the lowest prices, best selection and the easiest process for Approval on the Uber App. Every Uber Driver should know about HyreCar. Another Uber Driver told me about it. Now, I won’t rent anywhere else. It’s so easy. Everything happens in the app. I pick my car in the app. I pay in the app. My documents are uploaded to the app. I just download them from HyreCar & upload them in the Uber App and they are usually approved in minutes. I can start driving again, immediately. And the best part is, I can extend my rental; as long as I want, as often as I want. And, I do it all in the app! If you’re a Rideshare or Delivery Driver and you need a car to work, HyreCar is a “NO-BRAINER”.

Lower daily price in SF Bay Area!
The price to rent per day in the SF Bay Area is not profitable for a rideshare driver. Spending $400+ to rent for a week, plus gas prices (hybrid or not), makes it hard to break even if you work part time, or takes around 50% of your earnings full-time. The prices on this app down in LA are more affordable even for luxury vehicles. I think if the pricing for SF was similar to LA where a weekly rental costs closer to $300 or less it would be a much more lucrative option for renters which would overall increase business for HyreCar and their car owners. I’m debating going back to renting through the rideshare companies partners just so I can actually make some money that I get to keep...

If I could have gave no stars I would have. They have the worst customer service and employees are not knowledgeable of anything about the company!! I have been trying to contact someone in your corporate or Human Resources. I am trying to solve this problem without going to the courts. My name is Steven Brewster, I signed up as a owner with your HyreCar. Through your app my car was rented by a young lady by the name Amber tart. My car was damaged, side veiw mirror was broken off the door. The damage was 500 , Sedgwick their insurance would not cover my claim because the damages where not more than the deductible. HyreCar is not taking responsible for the damage. I feel I am not responsible for the damage while the car is being used under your app or used by your clients. I would like to settle this without having to retain an attorney or joining the class action lawsuit on HyreCar .

Wow this app would be great if the customer service wasn’t extremely unprofessional i not sure who runs this company but they really do not have a good team helping run things. They go about things so wrong and allow a 24 hour period for rental owners to put in any type of claim iv had now the second time someone falsely claim no gas and such. That means the owner can drive the car for 24hours then take a photo of the gas tank to then claim renter left the car on empty. Then you get slammed with a gas fee and cleaning fee. Owners on this app are so ghetto and their cars are trash I mean trash where it does not look like photos listed and car end of having extreme mechanical issues. And customer service will not care this company only cars about making money they do not car what type of car is listed it can be a whole junk car falsely listed. Be aware when renting from them. They do not care about making things right!

Do not list ur car on here. If u do, vet the drivers to make sure they are from good sides of town, have a good sense of responsibility, call and ask about them, google maps their address to match with ID, if they look rough on their pics do not rent them ur car, etc. Save urself the headache just leave ur car on TURO. The response from the HYRECAR team is lousy. They only blow up ur phone when a ROGUE renter is trying to get ur car to run away with. Once they runaway, no one calls u to help or tries to stop the person. Let me tell u how horrible this app is. They don’t even have a proper review for drivers u can scan through to know their history. App is full of piffleheads renting ur car. They will rent ur car, destroy is and bring it back and hyrecar won’t hold any of them responsible. Turo or getaround. I was constantly being charged for an extra day when I returned the car. I would get a refund but it would take 2 to 10 days to get it. This time I was charged for 4 days and when I call about it they told me I picked up 2 cars at once then I was to prove I didn't pick one up. Like how do you do that. If they would have cared enough to make one phone call to the owner it would have been fixed not no they couldn't do that just send emails. So after 4 days and hours on the phone I am finally getting my $254 refund in the next 2 to 10'days. As for the cars. Have you noticed all the cars get 5 stars???? The last car I got it had hail day all over it, screws holding the bumper on and the horn didn't even work. I can tell when I rent from the cause my tips go down compared to when I drive a nice car... Please run from them. Try KINTO they are even cheaper for weekly

Good Concept, Terrible Customer Service
I love using the HyreCar app because it’s very easy, self-explanatory, doesn’t require a lot of reading, you can use filters to get the desired cast you want if it’s available too. They also have a great variety of cars. One thing I hate about the app is, if I have a quick question that I need an answer to, the agents are never available.i have about 3 open tickets (questions/claims) on HyreCar right now because no one ever responds and if they do, it’s like 5 years later. I once rented a car for a week through HyreCar and returned it on time, the owner didn’t complete the rental when I returned it so they don’t want to pay me my $25 rebate for weekly rental. I decided to rent a car for the Halloween weekend and my rental was supposed to start today however the insurance is stalling the entire process and when I asked them about it, of course I get no response.

Terrible rental process and you have to call for you money to return
I’ve purchased three times on this app with the first time of me getting my account that I had for at least nine months and when purchasing vehicles not only did these owner accept me and then randomly cancel. Also when I did purchase the vehicle i’ve been questioned about my purchase after I purchased it, then you cannot put any time frame when you’re selecting a vehicle you have to wait until you are accepted and then work out a time with the owner of the vehicle (like are you serious?) I’ve also went through two issues of frauds out of three purchases and then the second time that the owner took my money but I had to call them for a refund that should’ve been refund 48 hours prior to me calling. from word of mouth to online I will never refer this app to anyone.

Terrible place to rent a car I rented a car was a nightmare the car was very unsafe tire system was messed up steering wheel went almost all the way around the car shuck so bad I work for Uber and Lyft it’s no way I could work in that car I picked it up it was so dirty I had to wash it it was on empty it was not worth my money it sat in my yard cause it starting messing up I was not dropping it back he had to pick it up and he act as if he couldn’t find address saying I’m trying to take his car and he was going to report it stolen I told him nobody want that car it was not worth stealing and to come get that car they say I was 4 days late cause he didn’t come get his car like he said I will never ever rent from them again terrible experience I pray to God you all do better on who and what you let on your site cause right now it’s very very unprofessional

Delivery Drivers Secret Tool!!!
My car broke down on the snowstorm in the middle of winter, I was unemployed and trying to support a family. I found out about this app and it changed my life I’m able to rent anybody’s vehicle that wants to rent it to me for a very reasonable price per day. Most of the time you’ll be able to rent a vehicle for $50 or under and then go about your day delivering food to people. A true lifesaver thank you guys so much for coming up with a genius idea I greatly appreciate having found you. I highly recommend this app to any Uber or Lyft or Uber eats driver looking to use somebody else’s vehicle to go about your deliveries for the day.

Quick to take the money
This is a scam. They advertise cars that aren’t available and are quick to take the money but you have to wait up to 10 business days to get a refund due to their mistakes? I don’t think so. The owner of the vehicle I was approved for stated he had taken down it was available and rejected the rental. It was when I contacted him about a pickup time he realized they had let the rental go through. So now they have all my money, I have no transportation and no way To even make money since I don’t have a vehicle now. So I suggest you save yourself the drama and don’t deal with them. Customer service was a joke and wasn’t comprehending what I was saying so all they did was make me angrier than I already am. You can take my money in the blink of an eye but to get it back I have to wait? NO! UNACCEPTABLE. Now please excuse me while I walk 7 hours home thanks to HyreCar

Be Careful
They will advise you to request multiple vehicles to enhance your chances of being approved . They say they will only charge for one vehicle, THAT IS A LIE! I was charged for all 3 $99 deposits and two of the rentals fees both costing north of $320 each. The only reason the third charge didn’t go through is because I had no money left in my account. I have spoken to customer service multiple times with no resolve . I was told to cancel the rentals and my money would be returned within 48 hours which was a HUGE LIE. After doing so and calling to ask for an update I was told it would take 7-10 business days to return my money. These people are unprofessional thieves . Be very weary of doing business with these people. Hopes this saves someone from dealing with the headache a multitude of people are dealing with according to customer support agent Fredrick

Fraudulent “Insurance Deductible” Practices
HyreCar was actually my 1st and best option for quickly securing a rental vehicle, but due to frequent account seizures, bad customer service, personal data breeches, & a random $1K “Insurance Deductible” for a vehicle in which the owner was repeatedly reporting multiple damages & false stolen parts claims after an incomplete weekly rental returned per request simply because they “Needed it back for an event” disregarding my verified Full-Time Gig-Work usage(After an entire MONTH goes by HyreCar IMMEDIATELY makes the accusation that I was the person who apparently stole a catalytic converter and starts pinging all of my listed and UNLISTED accounts afterwards). I’m going to strongly recommend everywhere that people avoid this application and search elsewhere if possible. All of the things listed in this review are frequently happening issues dealing with this company.

Terrible App. Poor Management
I rented a car and returned it on time (washed &gas) but the car owner was able to add/ charge me for an extra day while having his car back in his possession. He never closed the contract even after I reached out to him to close it to avoid fees… So I try to contact HyreCar to let them know that I’ve returned the car because owner didn’t close the contract and 2 hours later I get a couple notifications that my rental has been extended and then close within 10 mins. (I have screenshots n emails to show proof) So again I’ve reached out to HyreCar to see what’s going on and haven’t received any reply’s or my refund /deposit…it’s been 2 days !!!! this needs to be fixed ASAP! No right for owners to charge extra n not report returns plus HyreCar doesn’t nothing to fix the situation! Never using this app again! Scammers

Great app
Hyre is as good as the owner you are renting from. There are good people that believe in being honest and doing the right things for renters. I own a fleet of cars on the platform and run it like a business . I have my vehicles cleaned regularly and keep up on all the maintenance. In addition , I keep in close contact with all my renters and make sure everything is ok. Bottom line is that owners are successful when renters are doing well and thriving so it’s in the best interest to keep clean, problem free vehicles on the road and available. I’ve had the same renters in cRs for months that are happy and have referred friends because they know I will treat them well.

The worst experience every time.
I first used this app a few years ago for Lyft and was given a totally different car than was advertised. It was some off brand electric car that wasn’t in their system, so they had it listed with the websites permission as a mustang or something to that effect. It didn’t even mention that it was a different car in the description. It sucked because Lyft wouldn’t even allow me to use it and the car was dying constantly and just wasn’t what I wanted. Customer service made it difficult to correct to issue. Fast forward a few years and I decided to give them another chance and it’s possibly the least user friendly experience ever, the customer service is an absolute nightmare to navigate. Definitely would recommend a different rental service.
