I am totally hooked on this app and I don’t usually care for jigsaw puzzles! Nevertheless, there is definitely room for improvement. The pictures are attractive but there is way too much blank space. They would be far more exciting if there was more actual picture in each jigsaw. Also, it is hard to do because the colors are not true. Ergo, it’s sort of boring not to be able to use color to help solve the jigsaw. The puzzle with the wardrobe was my favorite and it makes total use of color rather cleverly. I’d prefer if none of the puzzles were locked. I do resort to using the quotes and stories to help me out but I’d rather have more picture to work with. Finally, the pieces stick. I’m certain that’s just a kink that you are working on. I'm a teacher and I can imagine it is rather difficult for a four year old to grasp the puzzle pieces when they get stuck. However, keep up the great work! This is a relaxing, albeit addictive app to use. But, please, consider having the artists fill up all that blank space with cool jigsaw pictures. Thanks for hours of fun!
This has quickly become one of my favorite Apple Vision Pro experiences. I’ve enjoyed interacting with Vincent Van Gogh’s art and learning a lot in the process. A few suggestions- in the first version for Vision Pro, the puzzles would take you out of the gallery by default. This was a good behavior. With the latest update, it tries to have you play the puzzle in the gallery. The galleries are really not that interesting to look at though. I would remove this, or at a minimum make the choice more obvious. If I press the Digital Crown, it seemingly allows me to play the puzzle outside the gallery. Unfortunately, if I so much as look at another app it may cause the puzzle to become blank and unplayable. Additionally, the ambient “music,” while nice, seems to be mandatory. I cannot figure out how to play a video or music from another app while working on the puzzle. This seems like a simple request. If these features could be re-worked, this would be an instant 5 stars from me.
One of the Best and the worst app at the same time
I actually really like the physics of the game, but there are so many bugs its hard to use the app. 1) The preferences are ignored, especially in relation to sound. You can go into preferences and set the sound back to enabled..and then disable it again. That will work for a bit, but then even with the setting to disable…the sounds returns 2) The latest updated breaks this work around. If you go into preferences and then click done, it closes out the puzzle your in and takes you back to the hallway..which turns back on the sound. There are just so many annoying bugs, which is a shame because I like the core app when I get it to work
I couldn’t play long. I couldn’t disable the music when doing a puzzle. I would bring up settings, choose my preference, then click done. I was dumped back in the museum with the music blaring, every time. If I returned to the settings, I discovered my preference was still set, but the music was still blaring. I would have to turn down my actual volume to do a puzzle. The music is just too much.
There’s no reason for this app to be in an AR or mixed reality. Space doesn’t take advantage of the technology inside the Apple Vision Pro really disappointing no reason for it can’t believe it’s even listed as a great game doesn’t deserve to be on the App Store.
I have been loving this puzzle game since it came out. It's funny, because I've never been huge on putting puzzles together, but this has really gotten me interested in finding some to put together physically. And it's amazing for many reasons, each puzzle starting off black and white, and as the pieces are put together, the colors begin to slowly come into the piece, the words on the art become darker and clearer, it not only provides a wonderful atmosphere, you feel a sense of satisfaction, as well. The art is lovely and colorful, the music is beautiful and relaxing, and since there is no timer nor any sort of rushing, this game is so relaxing. I have integrated putting at least one puzzle together into my daily routine as I wind down. But most of the time I will wind up putting 3-5 together while getting ready for bed. It is relaxing and addictive. If you have apple arcade, this is absolutely a no-brainer and a must-have in everybody's library. I have it on my phone and my computer, but I'd much rather play it on my computer, it's a little easier to see.

Really enjoying the lovely art, stories and act of working on puzzles! Very confused by some of the negative reviews. You can easily switch between the picture and the story, yet some claimed you can’t. This is covered in the tutorial. Also some are saying you are just going by the image outline to put in pieces, so it’s “not like doing a real puzzle” but in the same review they are complaining that edge pieces can’t be filtered out (which isn’t done for you when doing a real puzzle). Anyway, I’ve found that only the edge needs to be completed with the guide. If you don’t switch to the middle / story view you can simply fill in the center as you would with a normal puzzle, the background guide doesn’t fill in as you fill the puzzle. It would be cool to turn off the guide altogether, going in blind! Something to consider for the developers. :) I do agree with one reviewer’s stance that a lefty mode would be nice, allowing you to switch where the pieces you pull from are. I’ve managed just fine without it but I’m all for a smoother lefty experience!
This game is incredible!!! I love the concept of matching puzzle pieces to the black and white picture. With your new options, I choose to leave the text out and just complete the puzzle and watch the color slowly fading in. I feel this is more challenging than matching the text. When I turn this option off, however, the text is removed from the puzzle but not the puzzle pieces. Is there any way to turn this off as well? Unfortunately, I am having trouble with Dreamland, Level 14, whereby it is force closing on me. I have tried working on this puzzle numerous times, but continue having this problem. I hope there is a way to fix this issue. I even did a soft reboot, which did not help. Will you please let me know what I can do? I miss playing this game and want to move forward. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Thank you
REVISED: I increased my one star rating to 3 stars after the latest update. Still needed: 1) Get rid of text entirely except when puzzle is finished; 2) show full puzzle ghosted as in Patterned; 3) add smaller puzzle piece option. ORIGINAL: I am SO disappointed with the lack of playability! You hide most of the puzzle in picture mode. And Word mode is a bust - Who wants to put a puzzle of only words together - it’s MIND NUMBING! The words should only reveal themselves when you finish the puzzle. The magic is in the gorgeous illustrations but what a awkward puzzle app! You can’t see anything but the edges in picture mode - w h y ? Word mode is too dark to see the picture underneath. It’s like you thought and thought and thought about how to make the most irritating experience possible and then unleashed it on the poor Arcade players for kicks. No lock button? It should lock by design! I scrolled through the wonderful illustrations and mourned that they weren’t in a better designed app. I hope you come to your senses and scrap the word mode entirely - it’s boring beyond belief!
Enjoying the app! Maybe you should have made it to where the puzzle doesn’t move around so much once u start putting in the pieces. Don’t know if that would take away the option to zoom in or out but it’s a little easier if the puzzle stays in place. Thanks 😎 So glad that you made it to where the puzzle doesn’t move around while working on it! Usually when you make a suggestion it takes a long time before you see anything at least that’s how it is with most other apps. That’s why I don’t make too many suggestions cause not all developers take your idea seriously to make it easier or better for their app. I’m glad u did!☺️
If you're looking for a good puzzle app this is not it, yet. There's no way to see the picture in full and in color aside from the pieces you've assembled. The background is a muted gray scale. You cannot organize the pieces on the board as the pieces will turn red on the board when not in the correct space. I understand this is trying to be more artistic and casual by weaving a story with a series of puzzels by an artis, but I don't understand why it can't be both. With just a few additional settings a tweaking you could have one of the most beautiful puzzle apps for die hard puzzle lovers and a casual easy play artistc app as well. With all of that said one whole star was lost just for one small yet infuriating reason. When you complete a puzzle there is no next or continue button to bring up the next in the series. You have to go back out to the main menu scroll all the way back to the series you were playing and then select the next puzzle.
Clunky play for lefties. Needs to be more customizable.
I am no stranger to puzzle games, but despite the beautiful artwork and relaxing music, I don’t crave playing it like my other puzzle apps. I realized the reason is because the gameplay is awkward. As a lefty selecting a piece from the right side, my hand is covering the space to which I’m trying to line up the piece. Please add a setting allow the dock to be moved to the left. Also, provide an option to sort the pieces so that edges can be completed first. I find switching between modes disruptive. Finally, an ability to remove the story text and read it after completing the puzzle would be appreciated. While the text does help with lining up pieces, I would rather look at the pretty artwork unobscured. I will check back occasionally to see if any of these requests have been implemented. There’s a lot of potential here. I’d love to be able to bump my score up to 5 stars.
You can’t filter the pieces by edges & not edges and all you’re doing is matching the puzzle piece to the picture. It’s definitely not like putting a real puzzle together. There’s a MUCH better puzzle app in the arcade that is more like a real puzzle. You can change the # of pieces you want the puzzle to be, you can do all the edges 1st and build from there, you’re not matching pieces to a picture, you can zoom in & out, it’s just a much better puzzle app all around. It would be helpful if the developer of this app played with the other jigsaw puzzle app in the arcade call Jigsaw Puzzle+ just to get some ideas b/c this app has the potential to be a great puzzle app, the pictures are beautiful, prettier than the other app but right now it’s not quite what I’m looking for in a jigsaw puzzle. I’ll stick to the other app for now & check back on this one in a couple of months.
I really enjoy this game, and have spent far too many hours playing it. But the recent update introduced an artist waxing rhapsodic about faith in small-town America. I haven’t picked up on explicit religious messaging in the app before, but this keeps jumping out at me. The artist may not think he’s being specific, but there’s no way what he’s describing is anything but Christian faith. As a non-Christian, that’s distracting and a bit offputting. Edit: I realized later you’ve had plenty of Christmas-themed content in this and your previous app. Somehow, discussing faith itself hits differently than the symbology of Christmas. Or it’s the faith-in-a-small-town thing specifically, as those haven’t always been the most welcoming settings for people of *different* faiths.
The art works are beautiful. Enjoy the background music. I like the option to switch the mode between pictures and words. It would be more enjoyable and relaxing if it was not so glitchy. The puzzle pieces are difficult to select. I am using an iPad and when attempting to select a piece, i have to attempt 3-4 times before the piece will actually move. Then most of the times the actual puzzle moves around and resizes itself while attempting to place the piece on the puzzle. i will have to stop on puzzle 4 because it is sooo frustrating and not really enjoyable. Would appreciate it to know when these glitches get fixed when or if they do. Otherwise, would not recommend especially for a child ( you might end up with an ipad or iPhone fly pass you as it gets tossed.)
First I want to say what a great implementation of a puzzle game. It is actually challenging and fun to work through puzzles plus the amazing artwork is just so good!! Now for the negative, the controls are pretty bad. Scrolling through the puzzle pieces while trying not to pick up every one you accidentally touch is quite frustrating. Pulling pieces from the bar to place on the puzzle is really tedious, if you don’t get a match the first time out you have to start all over. Drag the piece back to the bar and start again, the reason is because the second time around you have to fight the floating puzzle board all while not able to see the piece because it resides under your finger. Just a suggestion, maybe include a button isolates and locks certain objects from being acted upon.
Outstanding, especially when winding down for the night.
As a parent of two kids under the age of four, I cannot express how much I didn’t know I needed this game. Sometimes I get tired of the constant grind in Diablo Immortal, or mindlessly watching ad after ad in idle clickers. I want something where I can turn my brain off and just unwind, and this game does just that. Puzzle building alone is already such a relaxing pastime, but add in beautiful quotes and serene music and I have achieved full zen bliss. It’s one of those games that you download because “hey why not” and you play it and it consumes you. It’s certainly not without it’s follies. I have the biggest iPhone I can get, and sometimes I still can’t grab puzzle pieces I dropped on the board without either zooming in or accidentally moving my viewpoint. I also wish there was a way to let the screen scroll when you are zoomed in and have a piece to an area you can’t reach, but they are minor grievances. Really thrilled with the game and I can’t wait to go through every puzzle.
Please Help!!! Not Loading & Don’t Want To Lose Progress!!!
I tried playing today and suddenly it’s not working. It loads like normal then I get the black screen where it tells me “Continuing Puzzle…” like it would when it’s loading the last puzzle you were working on except it stays there with the music playing in the background and won’t load any further. I’m so bummed because I’ve tried turning my phone off twice and it still does it. I’ve been playing this game for so long now and it’s my absolute FAVORITE!!! I’ve completed so many different series and I’ve been working on a series with 30 puzzles in it and I’m so afraid that if I have to delete the app and download it again, I will lose all my progress and achievements. I really hope that no one else is having the same issue. Does anyone know if I will lose all my progress or how to fix this without ruining everything???
I like this puzzle app a lot. It has a great selection of pictures from many different artists. There’s something for everyone. The reason I can’t give it more than three stars, however, is that you’re forced to work on the edges before you can work on the center. You can see puzzle pieces that would go somewhere in the center, but the center of the picture is blurred out and it’s all white, so it’s impossible to know where they would go. Instead you have to scroll through all the pieces that you can’t use to find the ones you can. Obviously it doesn’t matter too much because many people have given this game high ratings, but when an app like this becomes more frustrating than relaxing, there’s no point in keeping it.
I almost NEVER leave a review on here, but this game is just so amazing on so many levels! I’ve never been a fan of jigsaw puzzles but I was curious about the story part and decided to give it a try. I am so glad I did! The puzzles are so beautiful and the stories that go with them are perfect. I have a very stressful job and it’s hard for me to relax when I get home because most games have timers or tasks you need to complete before a special event ends. This game is so different. I actually find that it helps me unwind from the daily chaos called life. Thank you for creating something so beautiful.
Puzzles are interesting, piece navigation is horrible
I’m maybe a quarter of the way through my second puzzle. The designs are interesting. The piece navigation UX is horrible on iPhone. Every time I try to scroll the pieces, it’s a toss up whether it actually scrolls, immediately stops scrolling and selects a piece, or switches to a different app (since it’s a side-swipe near the bottom of the screen). The “select a piece to place” action is also unreliable - tap/hold on a piece and start dragging towards the puzzle. Sometimes it picks up, sometimes not. Finally, when pulling a piece from the tray, it moves about a half inch above my finger so I can see where it’s going to be placed. If I drop it on the puzzle and have to move it again, it’s directly under my finger. This could be a great, relaxing game, but it’s ruined by bad UX.
This is an extremely enjoyable and relaxing puzzle game. However, I noted that the game was moving slowly today and now it won’t load at all; it just sits on a black screen. Any tips on how to fix this? Update: Fixed the problem by uninstalling and then reinstalling the app. I was pleasantly surprised to find that all of my progress had been saved. I absolutely love this app! It’s extremely relaxing and a great way to unwind. The pictures are gorgeous and love the quotes and stories. I especially enjoyed The Wind and the Willows; so much fun to work through the story. I’m looking forward to the new releases this year.
So, I’ve really enjoyed this game so far. I think it is a very interesting and unique puzzle game. However, there seems to be a problem with the Van Gogh’s Early Years series. I completed the first 9 pictures with no problem, but the tenth puzzle in the series will not load. Every time I try to play it I get stuck on puzzle loading until I close the app (no matter how long I wait). I haven’t had this issue with any other pictures, everything else still seems to load just fine, but I would really like to finish that series and I can’t bc of this issue :(. If not for this I would probably rate the app 5 stars. Please fix this!!
I cried. Yes, I wept reading Alexandra’s explanation for each broken art piece. My inner child delicately put the picture together and called for me to enjoy this experience. Yours will too. You don’t have to cry like me but this is puzzling at its best. Except it’s more. All my stress went away to a place where it was when I was a child. Maybe stress didn’t exist then. I don’t know. Wonderful, and I am sending a thank you to all those who made this perfect. Thank you so very much for sharing your creativity and art and something else I cannot put into words. This is special. Alexandra P.
If puzzle play worked more like the tutorial this would be a great game. As is the gray scale play for edges is very frustrating. When you start Van Gogh you really start to wonder why it works this way. The puzzle image is faint, the pieces are faint and when you get a piece in the right place they blend into the gray scale. I’m 16 puzzles in and I don’t understand why the pieces should not start and continue to show full vivid color. This is definitely an accessibility issue. I can’t imagine someone with some mild eye issues trying to play. MAKE THE PIECES FULL COLOR. It doesn’t make it easier but it sure makes it enjoyable. Hard to appreciate the art when you can only see in full color when it’s solved.
I just adore the artwork! I also love the way the color gradually comes in as you complete the puzzle. I do however wish that you had the option to completely turn off the background picture to add more of a challenge. I do a lot of puzzles and usually only do 1k+ pieces and start with an inside piece that catches my eye and work out from there and never look at the picture for a challenge. Having the pic in the background makes it kind of feel like a child’s puzzle. I think it would make the app appeal to a wider audience.
When I think of puzzles I think of being able to group pieces on a table. The view where I have to swipe back and froth only seeing a few pieces at a time is honestly going to keep me off this app for long durations. The swiping motion also sometimes takes me out of the app since its right next to the bottom of the screen. And its rough on the hands after a while. This is not a mobile friendly game and you would need an iPad of some sort to really use it. I would really love for this app to let me sort on the screen easier. I can technically put all the puzzle pieces on the board but I can’t see any of its color until I pick it up so sorting is really not going to work here. While this is like all your other games i would also love the ability to toggle on/off the background image as i feel that’s cheating and sometimes pieces just snap into their right place not making this a challenge but more so can i just find the general area this should go and the game will fill it in for me.
Nice game overall, sometimes it’s difficult to pick up a piece to move it. Love the images and the ability to just piece the puzzle without the words. What I don’t love is that when I got to puzzle 14 in Dreamlands, the game crashed multiple times while I tried to scroll through the pieces. I finally gave up and just forced my way through placing the pieces in the order they were presented, and that mostly worked, although I did still have a couple of crashes. I did not have this problem on any of the smaller puzzles. I’m going to take a break from this game and will come back when it’s had an update. Love the concept!!
I’m specifically speaking about them encouraging you to switch between story mode and illustration mode, to help the puzzle go by faster. Cute idea, but if you're dyslexic like me, then trying to match a lot of desaturated words together will give you a headache after about 3 minutes. That’s not even an expression, my eyes are straining so much and now my head hurts lol. I would stick with solely illustration mode! It’ll take longer, but it’ll save you a lot of stress.
I can’t speak to the quality of this game on the iPad but on even the largest iPhones (I have an iPhone 14 Plus) the screen is just too small to make the experience enjoyable. If you don’t zoom into the picture, the pieces are too small to be able to place with any sense of accuracy, and the guidelines are just plain useless at the default settings. Bizarrely, the only way to zoom is to use the menu on the side (rather than pinching in and out). Of course, when zoomed in, it means you need to drag the frame around a lot. Even the simplest puzzle in this game (the one you start with) is basically an exercise in frustration. After I finished the first puzzle I had a horrible headache. I can’t recommend this game. At least on the iPhone. At all.
This have been a wonderful game to play, and I have enjoyed working my way through all the galleries. It would be wonderful to have more complex images (similar to the Van Gogh paintings, with more texture, rather than with the digital art, which is more flat), as well as more large puzzles (or XL??!). Perhaps there could be a ‘challenging mode’ option to make more pieces or something that makes them more difficult?
I can use this to calm my mind before bed. If I put the music on, it lulls me to close my eyes. I really enjoy the variety of puzzles. I also appreciate the words as an option to solving the puzzle when it becomes difficult using the lack of substance in the center. I no longer have room for my jigsaw puzzles in my new place. This is the closest that I have ever found to doing the physical puzzle. Thank you for creating a truly relaxing game.
This game is perfect! It is challenging without being too frustrating. They provide you with alternative ways to complete a puzzle, so it makes it more fun. I love how it celebrates the stories behind the art, as well the artists. Thank you for the Wind in the Willows art! It was one of my very favorite books growing up and I was so surprised to see a set of puzzles for it. It has brought me so much joy completing the puzzles for that.
This app is amazing! I absolutely love all of the Van Gogh puzzles & feel like I’ve gotten to know him pretty well after reading each story. I just want MORE!!! There’s a chapter at the bottom called Fairy Express, says it’s coming in 2023, but it’s February 2024 now. The achievements also have awards for completing several others that aren’t even listed! Pleeeeeease add more art! Historically & culturally significant art! I’ve finished the whole thing now & don’t know what to do with myself in the evenings 😩
I am new to this game and wow it’s very beautiful and relaxing to play with the soothing music provided. It really does melt the stress away. The recent updates are a major plus. I will echo other reviewers that the option to turn off the sketch would add more of a challenge, which would be nice but I don’t think it’s lacking without that feature. I really enjoyed the Van Gogh paintings and would love to see more puzzles of oil medium. Thanks for this great game!
Game worked great then all of a sudden stopped working! I really love this game. Please help. I followed instructions you posted for another player but it did not work. I play first game go to home page pick a new game to play and it freezes up have to close app. And not using the x to close the app. I have to swipe it close. Game Won’t work. I have uninstalled and reinstalled lots of time doesn’t help.
Is that they never stop expanding this. I truly find it to be one of the most engrossing, relaxing, mood lifting, calming, puzzle experiences that I’ve ever done. The overall layout and ease of use has me hooked. I’m slowly working my way through the puzzles. If it wasn’t for the fact that… well you know, life, then I think I could easily get lost in this for hours. I’m a big fan and I’m hooked!
I’ve loved almost everything about this game, highlighting beautiful and creative artists and their talented work. Until I got to the obvious AI artwork of Dom Lay. I’m disappointed in their submissions, and honestly wouldn’t have cared as much if it was labeled as AI and digital media instead of as their own work. In “The Chasms that Lie Underneath” you can literally see gibberish letters in the center background of the piece. These AI pieces cast a shadow on the other creations by talented artists, and at the very least should be credited as such.
I love the idea of this game, but am I the only one who finds the illustrations very unsuited to jigsaw puzzles? They are beautiful, but so dreamy and dark, with indistinct edges and images. And the instructions to increase/decrease visibility are difficult to understand. And, each time you change them you have to completely exit the puzzle you are working on. The text on the image is lovely, but it is a shame that you have to use the letters to complete the image. Otherwise there is no way you could distinguish between a million shades of dim gray.
Great jigsaw game with a twist. Love that you have quotes from or notes about the artist who’s work you are solving. I do have a suggestion: it would be nice if there is an option to “lock” the screen in place when you would like, it would avoid having the puzzle accidentally moving around the screen. Even with that minor “flaw” this app is incredibly addictive.
I’ve been enjoying this game, and even downloaded it on my tablet. One problem I’ve been having is that I can’t sync my progress from my phone to my tablet. Not a big deal, but it would be nice. My major issue is that some puzzles won’t download. Sometimes I can by closing and reopening the app. Lately it hasn’t worked at all. I’m scared to uninstall and reinstall because I don’t know if I’ll lose my progress, as mentioned before.
I really liked this game and had my phone set to notify me when it came out. My only complaints are that it’s a little tricky to swipe to find pieces without picking up ones you don’t want. Also I personally like when there’s an option to sort the edges from the center pieces so i don’t have to search through all of them.
This is an excellent puzzle program. The gentle music pairs nicely with the puzzles. It's a neat way to do puzzles without cluttering your house with them. I just completed my first puzzle. It was Vincent Van Gogh's View of the Sea at Scheviningen. At first I tried to do it without using the story text, but the image was so faded out that it was very difficult to find where the pieces go. I felt forced to use the story text. Is there anyway to make the picture have more color or darker?
This is a great game. I started playing last night and can’t stop. The only thing I would change about the app is instead of having to download the puzzles to play them. I would take that out and just have it available for download after a puzzle is finished. Same thing with Patterned. Some of my puzzles on there won’t download. Any help is appreciated.
Love relaxing and a nice way to spend time while I can’t sleep.
Love art and have always loved puzzles. I really like how they put the layout where you can use a variety of buttons to better see how your pieces fit. They don’t just scatter pieces all over where you are looking below and then above. Very nice with relaxing music. Good job to the developers and fun for all ages.
This game is gorgeous and almost perfect. The only problem is a number of puzzles must be played in landscape mode, but there is no option to move the puzzle pieces to the left side of the screen for left-handed players. This means for landscape puzzles I’m constantly dragging pieces from right to left, under my hand, blocking my view of the playing area. Adding a lefty option would make a world of difference for us southpaws.
This is such a relaxing game, but it’s left me wanting more! I would love the option for smaller puzzle pieces, or exclusive extra large puzzles! Just for a variety in difficulty on the occasion I’m in the mood to give myself a bit of a challenge. I also really love the Van Gogh collection, and would love other famous artists to be featured! Pollock and Monet come to mind, but this would also be a neat opportunity to feature lesser known artists!
This game is amazing. I love the pictures, the music is wonderful and very calming. I’ve been quite addicted to this since I’ve downloaded it. The one bad thing though, is the drain on your battery. I have a 2 month old iPhone 14 pro and this game drains my battery so unbelievably fast. Not to mention it makes my phone very warm after playing it for awhile. But, that aside, it’s a great game that I really enjoy.
