Love the app! Has a few bugs

Ive been looking for a place to learn and practice Gujarati for a while now and LanguageCurry has been so helpful! The only problem I’ve run into is that once I’ve finished a level, the next one won’t load. So now unfortunately I’m stuck on level two. Otherwise I really enjoy the platform!

Best app to learn Hindi

I’ve been trying to learn Hindi for more years than I like to admit. I have probably no less than a dozen apps on my phone but yet it wouldn’t stick....until I found Language Curry! Language Curry is the best app. It had all I was looking for. It reminding me of learning a language in school from scratch. Not only does it give you the commonly used phrases like in other apps. It gives you the basics. It conjugated verbs. It uses them in sentences. I love at the end of chapters the simulation texts. So much fun! I also like how the units are shorter. They are not overloading you with a ton of vocabulary and sentences in one chapter. They give many ways to practice for all types of learners (visual, audio, etc) by listening, matching, etc. I would recommend this app to anyone looking to learn Hindi effectively!! Well done!

Take the live classes if you can!

One thing I really like about this app is that it can be paired with very affordable live classes over Zoom. You can this get instruction and accountability from a teacher and classmates to keep you on pace with your learning. I am finishing up Tamil beginners 1 soon and plan to take the next class too!

Good way to learn Hindi without Devanagri

The creators of LC have obviously gone out of their way to make a unique Hindi and South Asian language app that teaches you in an every day, conversational style. It’s great as a one-stop shop or as a supplement to other learning methods. I read Devanagri but my wife doesn’t so she like this app as a way to get started in Hindi. I have found it challenging and stretching my intermediate knowledge.

Glitches

I really want to like this app, and the few features I’ve been able to access are extremely well produced. Fantastic notes on the language and culture, throws you into realistic dialogue, helpful grammar points. The issue is, so many of the languages will not let me start the course. Odia, Bengali, Sanskrit- I’ve only been able to access Marathi and Punjabi. I’d be greatly appreciative if this was fixed.

Great app, won’t play next level

I really enjoy the app, it makes it so easy to learn Gujarati! But I’m stuck on level 7, when I try to load level it 8 it loads level 7 instead. I would like to move on if you could fix the app.

Buggy

I’ve tried this app twice, and both times have run into the same problem. While I love the fact it offers several Indian languages, it’s impossible to use. Once you reach a certain level, in my case, Chapter 16 in Marathi, the next levels will not load. When I contacted the developers last year, they said they would look into it. But after checking today, they haven’t.

App keeps crashing

This so far has been the best resource to learn Odia as an English speaker. I really want to use this app but it keeps crashing as soon as I open it. When I first downloaded, it let me go through a few courses before it would crash but now it opens and crashes immediately. Developers please fix this - I love what you have created!

Wonderful app but buggy and needs Devanagari

This is a great idea, but lots of bugs, like “error match not found” at the end of a lesson, which forces you to close the app and reopen. Also, why is there no option to learn Devanagari and do the Hindi lessons with that? That would be helpful. They are wanting to charge for subscriptions but it simply isn’t there yet.

It’s pretty good

It’s pretty good. Only two problems. It keeps crashing and I can’t finish my level. Also I feel that they should offer different dialects. But other than that, it’s good. I would recommend it.

Great App, Even Better Classes

I am taking Tamil with Ramya. The classes are a great price and very well structured. I am impressed with my own progress! The app itself is a good reinforcer, but perhaps not great for learning if it is your only tool, as is usually the case.

Good app to learn Hindi

I so like this app to learn Hindi language. I hope the developer can update the app for more stable In the future because sometime the app will be crashed and revoked into the main screen and my learning process will be lost and I must to learn again. Thanks

Love it!

This is a pretty new app so there are still kinks to work out technically but overall I’ve had a great experience using it alongside the live classes. It’s one of the best ways I’ve found to learn Hindi as a native English speaker. Would highly recommend!

Glitchy low quality app

The app asks for payment after level 1, but the quality of level 1 was not good enough for me to pay even a single dollar to progress. There were some incorrect marathi translations. In addition, app has a lot of bugs and also wouldn’t even let me delete my account. Uninstalling it from my phone.

Crashes at launch

This has so much potential to help the next generation of NRIs learn their mother tongues. I was very impressed with the initial Odia and Telugu courses. However, the app keeps crashing at launch now. Would have loved to recommend this to family and friends - hope the bugs get fixed soon!

I downloaded this app to study Gujarati, and it's awesome! I really appreciate this app and how it builds cumulatively on what you've learned and how it focuses on words and phrases that I actually would need to use right away! Thank you!

Great for Telugu learning

Promising but app doesn’t work

This seems like it should be a great app with an effective approach. It is hard to find good resources for Indian languages that don’t use rather traditional, bookish language learning methodologies. However, I can’t get any lessons to load, and even the first introductory pages keep me staring at the wait icon forever. The app seems broken.

The only Hindi app you Need

Language Curry teaches me the Hindi I need. I love that the app starts right with the most useful vocabulary and phrases. I especially love the cultural features!! This app makes Hindi so accessible; it's a must!!

Decent Supplement if Free

This app has a very dated UI, along with medium responsiveness, but its utility outweighs its enjoyment, though that was when it was free. Paying for this app and user experience seems like a waste of money, despite the semi-interesting cultural lessons. If the app was more polished, a $10-$20 one time purchase would make it pretty worthwhile, but $50 is a rip-off. :/

App crashed consistently

I tried the Gujarati track was on the very first lesson and at the same exact spot in the lesson, namely the matching English and Gujarati words by visual tiled pairs, upon completion of the last tile the app would crash with no error message and I would lose progress on the lesson.

Good but has issues

This app is so amazing in its structure and lessons, but it has a lot of functioning issues, bugs, and glitches. Definitely needs to be updated technologically.

Racist

Right off the bat the name of this makes me so mad because it says “language curry, learn Indian” it’s racist and the images make it more racist. The app doesn’t even function well and if you want to keep the app please just change the name and images in the app.

I’d love to try it …

But the stupid app asks me to log in, then once I have it asks me to sign up???? Can’t do anything else. I enter my credentials anyway, and it says I’m already signed up, well yeah. Anyhoo, can’t use the app if it won’t let me sooooo deleting it 🙁

Hindian

J never knew indian was a language. I thought it was an ethnic group and nationality. i thought the indian language was hindi But the english grammar is indian. Hindi has no articles? Because "i am new user" lol

It needs update

Update: they recently updated the app, and now it doesn’t even start. It crashes as it launches. Either take care of this app, or keep getting one-star reviews like this! Ok, the Spoken Sanskrit section is amazing, but the app does not keep me signed in, so I have to login everyone I come back to the app. Today, app is not even logging me in. The app is also sluggish and often crashes when a section of exercises is completed. I love this app, but it needs an update desperately! Namas te!
