The interface has line charts instead of a bar graph, which can only be viewed as a whole instead of hour by hour . The line chart is thin and a bit difficult to read. The tickets don't provide the previously provided detail of where non-table tickets are coming from (such as various delivery providers). Going from day to day reports is more cumbersome. I would pay money for the old app. Please improve this!
My business had Breadcrumb/UpServe/Lightspeed for eight years… It used to be a great platform, steadily making improvements and with good customer service at a good price. Since UpServe was acquired by lightspeed it’s become horrible. The customer service is not helpful, the prices are the most in the industry and contract renewal is a miserable process with them. We moved to another provider for a fraction of the cost and have been well pleased.
This system is garbage poor customer support crashes every day every day MV readers disconnect printers don’t work system goes down nobody on the other end for customer support and when you try to leave they tell you gotta pay to break your contract. Do not use this system it is garbage.
App used to work and was great to keep track of sales through the day but the last couple days it keeps logging off, won’t allow me to log in and is just not reliable.
This app is worthless. Low functionality, bad UI, can’t find what you’re looking for, and super slow. You’re better off calling your staff via messenger pigeon and you’ll find what you’re looking for faster
We are brand new to breadcrumb and the upserve family however not new to the F&B industry. It's very troubling when you raise questions to their support department and are met with a response of "Great Question nobody else has asked this before" when the question is "what type of internal controls do you have in place. We live in an ever changing world with fickle customer demands where F&B venues need to adapt or die. The sheer fact that we cannot drill down into revenue stream data or have various tender types include specific manager overrides can leave us susceptible to theft. The good news is that we were promised to not be charged any fees for upgrading versions so we will cross our fingers and hope their engineers work on some of our input. Here's to hoping for a bright future.
To be clear, this is not a review of the app as it currently stands, but rather a review of what I hope this app becomes. Though obviously very early in development, this app hints at the potential of combining the analytic power of Upserve with the usability of Breadcrumb. One of my biggest complaints about Breadcrumb, both of the web dashboard and the "live" app, is the limited ability to mine the treasure trove of data that it collects. Upserve has the potential to offer tremendous value to us restauranteurs by presenting the "big data" gathered by our systems in a way that is clear and useful. Here's hoping that this app represents the first step in that direction.
App not working and breadcrumb becoming hard to work with
We have been using breadcrumb for 3 years and hung with them through a lot of crap and thought it would get better with Upserve. It has been getting tough to stick with them when it keeps going off line, batches aren't syncing to the right days or not even syncing up. Now the app won't let me sign in!!!!! It better get fixed fast or we have to move on.
For several years, I depended on this app to run my business more efficiently on a daily basis. For the last month or so, the app crashes every time I try to log in. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling with no luck. This is a tool that we pay for so if it is not going to be working, we may be switching to another product.
This app crashes every time I open it. This is a recent development. I have used this app for over two years in order to check on business stats throughout the day. The only solution that I have found to access our business stats on my phone, is to delete the app and reinstall it. I am having to re-install this app more than once a day. This problem needs to be addressed, as it has rendered my access to my business virtually impossible without a desktop computer.

You did not know up serve is a startup and that means they have more time the support team would love for you to contact them via email but I'll tell him right away Oh yeah by the way you have to use it with a printer or something

This app is how one manages their day to day, hour to hour sales, etc. How they could simply let this be a problem this long defies basic customer service and is a breach of contract. We were sold this management tool, we pay for it, we need it working. I thought after all the crap from one buyout to another that maybe Upserve would shine, fix things up, care about their customers. Nope.
This app is meant to be a service on the floor, outside of the office, but it fails UNTIL your first ticket is entered. Before a first ticket is entered, it presents no daily sales curves for last week or last year. You can circumvent this by manually creating a ticket each morning. But that is a waste of time. This was reported to the Product team several times over the past year. No action has been taken.
This app is game changing for businesses I operate with. There's a new level of trust and flow available, knowing the rate and performance of the day's business, and being able to compare it to prior time periods. Love it!
Just downloaded. So far, so good. Seeing as it's new, will re-review in a couple of weeks. An idea whose time has certainly come. What would be great is if BC pro were operable on iPhone for servers & admin. Possibly in future?
We've had Breadcrumb for almost 2 years now. App was going well for me and now I'm having same issues like everyone else. It brings me to the login screen now and when credentials are entered, the app closes out. Only way to fix it is to delete and reinstall the app. Then it works for 5 minutes before the crash cycle begins again 😡
I never had an issue before, but now it literally crashes every other time I open it. It prompts me for a username/password. When I enter one, the app just closes. I have to delete the app and re-install it. It works the first time, then the vicious cycle starts again. I use this to track sales for my business, and this is a huge annoyance.
Since Breadcrumb was taken over by Upserve all the great aspects of this start up have begun to slip away. First Upserve harassed Breadcrumb users in switching over to their merchant services (poor rates and deceptive tactics), then updates on the POS aren't carrying through in a timely manner so we see pending transactions exists for 2-3 days, and now the app is defunct. Shame to see what was a great asset for the industry be destroyed by a bigger competitor.
No hour to hour charts and comparison to previous week. No check/guest averages. Thin line chart that's difficult to read and doesn't provide exact values. Have to manually update it every time I look at it. Struggling to find anything good about it. Please bring back the old app or introduce the old feature set in this app... soon.
Enjoy the analytics currently provided but want for more. I get the feeling that enhancement requests go into the ether never to be from again. There is no feedback loop on requests. How about labor as a % of net sales.
Many useful features missing, hard to read and pull useful information from. I hate the fact the app forced you to upgrade also I have to continually keep logging in every time my wifi network changes. A big crappy step backwards. Not happy.
Developers have to fix this ASAP! I can't track sales for my business. I have to use my mobile web browser to log in and track my sales. This is a huge inconvenience. Once this gets fixed. I'll update this review. Update as of Jan 2017. Nothing has been done. WHY???
Awesome that you show this week and week prior stats, very cool! Bug: the date is a day off, I remember you had this issue with the launch of breadcrumb 2.0. Addtl info: be nice to have a month view.
I used this app for over a year with good results. Now it won't save my login info and it crashes the second I login. Only way around it is to delete the app and reload it. Please FIX this bug!
This app as well as the program is horrible. It is always offline almost every week. I would highly recommend anyone who is looking for a POS system to stay away from this system.
This is useless. Other than telling me the sales so far, there no concrete data available. Just squiggly lines. I thought Upserve was supposed to make breadcrumb better. They seem even less competent than breadcrumb ever was.
Contacted support, I was told this is a known issue with current iOS and they are working on a fix. Would love to know when it's expected to be fixed. Communication is important for apps that businesses need.
The new update is terrible! It is slow. It is unresponsive. The chart is cut off at the bottom of the screen. The app went from incredibly useful (and probably unhealthily used) to completely useless. Please fix this now.
Since the last update impossible to keep the app working properly for more than 3 minutes. It's a shame that it could take so long to be fixed. Do something please !
