I love this app.
I love this Mastodon for iOS app. It is accessible, very functional with voiceover. However, my main concern, is notifications. Voice the iOS screen, reader, is not announcing those like it’s supposed to whenever someone has posted/tooted some messages with links, whenever I follow somebody, or when the notifications are such anyone, or followers, voiceover is not announcing, even if I’m not within the app or not using it if I’m on a different app. Please explain to me why, this isn’t working for iOS correctly like it’s supposed to? It would be great if that can be fixed, and corrected. If somebody could fix it, that would be great. It would work great for everybody. Also, it would be beneficial to use the default system sounds, so that whenever someone has posted something, I can get a notification/banner and announcement right away when somebody has posted pieces of information on their timeline. so my question for you is, is this possible if that could be fixed? In the next few updates, for iOS 17 going forward? That would be awesome if that would happen, please and thank you.

Some things that could make the app great for VoiceOver
I’ve used Mastodon since early 2023, and while I broadly enjoy the freedom to see who I want in my timeline without ads, recommended content, and other algorithmic garbage, I feel the official Mastodon app could be better-optimized for VoiceOver. As a VoiceOver user, I do not need to hear other users’ URLs immediately after hearing their display names, as I find that’s more superfluous information I have to listen to before hearing the content of a post. Therefore, there should be an option in the app’s settings that determines how users are identified in the Home timeline, which could help reduce excess verbosity. Also, there does not seem to be any way I’ve found to clear notifications from within the app. On the web, I can reveal my notifications, click the “Show settings” button, followed by the “clear notifications” button to clear notifications from the web view, however they are still displayed in the app with no way to clear them. Similar to other apps which show notifications, there should be a “Clear” option in the actions rotor for notifications in the official Mastodon app, or alternatively, an option that’s revealed when triple-tapping the notification to access a context menu. Also, when clearing notifications from the web, they should also be automatically cleared from any apps signed into that account.

The Twitter killer!
If you have a Twitter account, you might as well tell your followers you’re moving onto Mastodon. This app is simply amazing, it has an almost “Discord”-esque vibe to how communities are structured and ran. Whilst still following the same overall “platform” guidelines. As an LGBTQ+ person, I’m so happy to have frontline representation within the app by having an entire “LGBT” server search section within the app. This level of inclusion, for MY community is something that even Discord doesn’t have, and I want to thank everyone at Mastodon for including this into the app! Seriously, it means a lot to have one more app (in an honestly small pool of apps) that says “Hey! We accept and support your community. Period, dot”. All-in-all, I very much love the community inclusion. I also very much like the, well defined UI/UX, and its nice features such as using emoji like, Blobcat. Alongside super fast performance and rock hard stability, Mastodon is a good reason to finally abandon Twitter, and the toxicity, and lack of support or care from management. 10/10 app.

Amazing improvements
When I first got the app, I liked the aesthetics but there was quite a bit missing. I couldn't see those I'm following or my followers. I couldn't use multiple accounts without a hassle. I didn't understand how to write direct messages (this was a misunderstanding on my part) and I couldn't view the federated timeline. Fortunately in 1.2.0, it's now possible to see followers and those you're following. Possibly more importantly, multi account support is now stellar. Using multiple accounts is vital on decentralized platforms and protocols such as ActivityPub, and this gets it right. Maybe the federated timeline will come later, or maybe it'd be difficult to justify given Apple's strict rules, but it's chaotic and spammy enough that I don't mind logging in on a browser for the few times I need it. I love how quickly this project is taking shape. Its UI is simple yet does exactly what I want it to do. And that wouldn't be possible if it weren't a free and open source project!! Props to MainasuK and Gargron :)

Better Twitter than Twitter (and Musk-free!)
Like over 100,000 other former Twitter users, I joined Mastodon in April 2022 because I didn’t want to be on a social media platform owned and governed by the whims of an unkind billionaire. I did expect it to be sloppy and barren, but my expectations were laid to waste. Mastodon is crafted thoughtfully, with an eye toward building communities of people with similar interests run by people that you’re likely to know. And all of these little communities are connected to one another. Discovering people to follow takes a little more effort, but YOU are in control! YOU get to decide what server to join (or start your own) and each server can have its own rules, decide what other servers it will connect with, etc. freedom of speech is there, but so is a culture of kindness. I’m here to stay! Other Twitter refugees should come here. But remember you’re not sliding into some corporate wasteland site; you’re joining an individual person’s intentional community, so be a good neighbor!

Works great with voiceover to appoint
At the time of this writing, I am running iOS 16.5 on an iPhone SE three. Whenever I write a new Mastodon for those to read and I’m done with it by dictation, I double tap to end dictation. Dictation doesn’t seem to want to stop. As a matter of fact, the whole app wants to crash. So I have to hit the home button before this happens. Or I have to shorten what I want to say. This is very disconcerting. I don’t know if there is something wrong with the app or not. This is a fresh install of the app. I hope this gets fixed within the Mastodon app itself or within iOS. Other than that this is a great app. I wish the notification sound were a bit louder. They are a bit quiet.

Mixed reviews
I gave the app 3 stars but if 2.5 was a possibility , I would’ve done that. I do like the idea of an alternative to Twitter that offers hope of getting away from all the fighting and negativity un the Twitterverse. Maybe having multiple servers for different types of accounts is how this is accomplished But after a month or so of use on my phone, the I’m frustrated that the app does not show me how many views a post of mine has had, and even if someone favorites it, I cannot see who it was that favorited it. Also, today I tried to install and use it on my ipad. I was told my password was incorrect (I know my email was correct.) I tried the “I forgot my password” route where they are supposed to send me a link to reset it. After multiple tries, no link was ever sent. (Yes, I checked my spam folder, AND turned off my vpn.) I ended up deleting the app from my ipad, and I only hope I don’t ever have to re-log into the app on my iphone, because I WILL keep using it there because I am enjoying it!

First impressions: not so user-friendly
I just joined Mastodon, and I want to say right now that I think my opinion of the app/network will improve with time. But my initial impression, coming from popular sites like Facebook and Twitter (and to a lesser extent Instagram and Tumblr and simple blogging platforms) is that setting up a Mastodon profile and building a community that I follow has been overly difficult. The search engine doesn't always seem to find people who exist on the platform, and I can't use my usual (Twitter) method of building the list of people I follow—which is to follow someone I really like and then mine the list of people they follow—because people on that list on Mastodon only show up if they're on the same server that I'm on (an arbitrary choice for me that I've had to change once already because I had so much trouble finding my people to follow). Anyway, like I said, as I get used to it, I'm sure I'll think more highly of it. And at least it's not f'ing Twitter or Facebook!

Mastodon great but App limited, bad for iPad landscape mode
…I’m hoping for a robust feature update. As a beginner I found it confusing that I couldn’t do things I heard Mastodon was capable of, when this was the official app. Other apps have those features. Pros: Fast! Good flicker-less scrolling. I still use it for reading but… Cons: Can’t edit posts like other apps. Can’t follow hashtags like other apps. Can’t do lists like other apps. Can’t switch to local and federated feeds like other apps. At least I haven’t been able to. But I still root for it and hope it succeeds because it’s fast and appealing and I’m sure there are limited resources to improve it. Just unfortunate for newcomers it doesn’t show off what Mastodon/Fediverse can do like other apps. Oh and also landscape on an iPad puts otherwise useful features in a thin column on the right, so that may be a contributor to my complaint. I suspect this is more for iphone portrait use but I lack good eyesight for that anymore.

Very frustrating, to say the least
My biggest longstanding issue is that my mute filter isn’t applied to alt-text in this app. Things that are filtered on desktop aren’t filtered here, and I don’t understand why. The words I muted are very triggering, and it defeats the purpose of having filters and the encouragement for people to include alt-text. So when someone posts a comic, meme, or photo depicting or using one of these words, I want it filtered out. On desktop, this works. So why not in the app? Beyond that, the app has been crashing regularly for a while, even after the latest update. It happens nearly every time I load missing posts or vote on a poll. When I open the app after a crash and scroll back to where I left off, it works then—but always after the initial crash. It also sometimes happens when clicking on notifications or my own profile. It’s become a persistent annoyance, but that pales in comparison to the glaring oversight of not having muted words applied to alt-text.

How Mastodon could improve
I love the ethos and underlying values of Mastodon, but as former journalist and news junkie I could not figure out how to connect with other media organizations. There also did not seem to be local or even regional US communities to align with. Also, how can I switch from the node I signed onto? It should be intuitive to move from one server to another. Posting links to articles do not actually display the article header as they do on Twitter—at least they didn’t when I tried it a couple of weeks ago. I also hope Mastodon encourages fact-based journalists, commentators and news organizations to post here. A news feed that would display on its own tab would be great. It is right to keep Mastodon from being a vector for misinformation and trolling, but it should encourage information, investigation, thoughtful debate—and yes, some fun 😸.

It’s an excellent app
For Mastodon there’s zero complaints. Credit to the app developers. It deserves 5 stars. The possible bug I mention below does not occur on mastodon, only Pixelfed. If you don’t use Pixelfed then ignore what is said below. —— The problem I’m having is with posting text to Pixelfed, which the app supports but there is a bug and I don’t know if it’s with the app or with Pixelfed. The possible bug is when I add text with the white space between paragraphs. After experimentation, I found the following results: - Just typing in text on iOS app, Win 10 and Mac OS X causes every new line to occur twice on both the app and web after saving. - Copy and paste text with CRLF causes every new line to occur twice on both the app and web after saving. - Copy and paste text with CR causes every new line to occur twice on the app and no new line on the web after saving. - Copy and paste text with LF causes every new line to occur twice on the app and a single new line on the web after saving. The results are the same on iOS, Win 10 and Mac OS X. Thanks for the long feedback and an excellent app.

Bad Onboarding
You need to work on your Onboarding, it’s the most important part now for your App, because a lot of users will come from Twitter. Your first step is to choose Server. When I try to find something in Art category, you having anything. So why you show this category. Another thing: you asked me to choose only one server, why only one? How it works? I’m just simple user and don’t understand your terminology and what you mean by server and what is the difference between simple groups by interests (where you can follow more than one) and your one server. And a lot of other things you need to improve: like find people to follow. I have a big list of people, but I don’t know anyone, help me to sort them and find interesting people for me). Or you ask me to turn on notifications on the 3 step, why? I just downloaded your app, I don’t see the value of this action right now. Sorry, but it was bad first impression.

Making the switch
To be perfectly honest, I’ve never really been a Twitter user, it was the only platform I stayed clear of. Now that that bird site is being run by a loon, everyone is flying over to mastadon. I decided to take the leap and join. I was immediately welcomed by so many like-minded individuals, the constant barrage of advertising from other social media platforms did not exist here on Mastodon end it finally felt like I had found a place where my voice could be heard. so far, I am enjoying all aspects of the community, the interface seems familiar, and I look forward to seeing how this community grows.

Ignores some settings
I mostly like using the official Mastodon app on my iPad and iPhone, but there are some annoying things that keep me trying other apps. In my settings I have chosen to always show media and always expand posts with content warning, but the app ignores my settings. On the iPad, when in landscape orientation, which is how I always use my iPad, I find the layout annoying. The main feed is fine, but the feed on the right, with the choices of local, etc. is cramped. And some posts are not properly justified and overflow the right side of the screen. It might be better to have a toolbar like the one on the left side that lets you choose another feed (local, explore, hashtag, etc.) to view in the main feed part. It would also be nice if the app had an easier way to update to the latest posts. Perhaps when starting up the app it could automatically fetch the latest posts in the main feed and show a button to allow me to show them. I hope the app will continue to be updated and improved. I am liking Mastodon as an alternative to Twitter. A really good mobile app will enhance that experience.

Interem review after maybe a month of use.
I am not a former Tweeter, but got interested after Musk made a big deal of verification and got me thinking. Back to Mastedon: Its still a lonely place for me. I don’t know how to search other “instances” and I dont know how to read comments to posts. If there is a way for this to be a communicating community, well, I haven’t figured it out yet. I am still using Mastedon in the hopes that I will eventually figure it out. Now maybe I got it all wrong and its really just about getting followers. Nothing wrong with that, but I was thinking it would be more like finding a group of similar interests for (moderated?) chit-chat. So three stars only because of my expectations compared to what I have found so far.

Much needed translation is now available
I stayed away from using the Mastodon app and instead used other clients mainly due to a missing translate feature. Translation has been included in this release and it is great! At first I was kinda disappointed that you needed 2 clicks to translate a post (Options— Translate). However, later I realized that unlike other apps this option lets you see the translated text directly in your feed instead of needing to expand the text to see the translation. This is actually much better and I hope they keep it that way.

The platform is great, the app needs some work
I am a fan of the Mastodon platform as a social media, but this app needs some improvements. As for design, I think the font size and spacing is too large, and I wish it was a bit more compact. There are some weird quirks like your timeline feed not saving your place when you go to another tab and back. Also, whenever your post something or update your profile, it doesn’t update until you manually refresh. I’ve also had trouble with gifs not playing and URLs not registering as links. It’s definitely worth using in its current state but there is a lot of room for improvement.

Fantastic App!
This app brings together your traditional social media experience, similar to Twitter, or Facebook, but is also completely different in the way that and operates. It’s somewhat reminds me of discord, and Tumblr smashed together, which is a nice combination! It will take you a while to figure everything out, but once you do, the experience is better than Twitter’s simplistic interface, there is no need to pay for verification, and it isn’t as cluttered as Facebook is these days. Very nice app. I knew it was more popular at one point, and I hope it can get back to that at some point!

Who chooses the sidebar posts?
The Mastodon app has improved on the iPad, except that the user cannot deselect the sidebar. I don’t usually care for your posts, but even if a few are okay, they don’t renew during the day. I don’t get the point of such a list. I would rather choose my own sidebar items as posts or have no sidebar. Even if I block a user in the sidebar, the post remains. The news and hashtag options are useful, but the posts are not, even if you tell me that they are derived from some kind of analysis of my users and interests.

Decent interface, worrying direction.
The is clean and simple, with good colors and icons. It’s functional, and passes you back to the instance’s site to change account settings and the like. One annoyance: there’s not complete feature parity between Mastodon (service)’s features and Mastodon (app)’s. See how that can be confusing for new users? I’ve also lots many problems with the way it formats posts from Pleroma and the like. My main worry is with how they’re steering the app towards a more centralized experience. The app now first pushes you to exclusively the largest instance, and hides the other instances away in a separate area. This sets a dangerous precedent from the devs by adding a bias for their particular instance.

Too Frustrating to Create an Account
I get that there are different servers - but what I don’t get is why it’s so difficult to simply find one (in English, in my case) that is right for me. Are the ones shown the only ones available? Most aren’t in English. Are there certain parameters for a search? Because everything I searched for to find my region (US, California, Los Angeles, etc) came up with no results. I selected each category tab at the top, and some were empty. It’s amazing how something that should be so basic and user-friendly is so annoying. I gave up and deleted the app. For now I’ll stick with Reddit and Tumblr. Mastodon won’t replace Twitter if it’s not straightforward and intuitive to use, unfortunately. Media outlets need to stop pushing their sudden PR campaign for this site until it’s actually usable.

Please fix the Filters feature
One of the best features of Mastodon is the highly configurable filters, but the official Mastodon app’s implementation of these filters is terrible! Filtered posts should not take up the same space in my feed as if they were unfiltered. A 400-word post with a photo and a link takes up my whole screen even though it has been filtered. PLEASE JUST COLLAPSE IT! It should take only 2 to 4 lines, enough to show the icon and name of the account responsible for the post, the label “Filtered” and the name of the filter responsible for this filtering. YES I WANT TO SEE WHICH FILTER HAS BEEN APPLIED! Many other mastodon apps work this way, but their experiences are lacking other ways.

Improves the On-Ramp to the Fediverse
This app allows you to easily get connected around the world, to learn and collaborate with other users of the exponentially growing Fediverse social platform network. You can easily find a server via search, and review their descriptions. The e-mail verification process during the joining process is seamless. Once you join a server (instance), it is easy to find and explore accounts to follow. Those accounts might follow accounts on other servers, which allows you to explore additional communities. Your Fediverse experience can evolve with you deciding to eventually sign up to a different server that better suits your needs. You can find more complex features on your server and on the Fediverse in general when you use a web browser to access your account, but this app provides a perfectly comfortable user experience for those new to the Fediverse.

Best Twitter substitute so far
Like many in the site, I came to Mastodon after Musk started messing with Twitter. I signed up for Hive & Post too, but Mastodon is the only one that seems to be able to handle the sudden surge in usership. I’ve had much more engagement there than I expected and have found many of the journalists & publications I followed on Twitter there too. It is a little harder to search for individuals whose handles you don’t have and for the life of me I can not figure out how to add a header/banner to my profile which I’d really like to do. But those are minor issues in the grand scheme of things

Diamond in the Rough
Having no algorithm to spoon feed you posts and content is weird at first, with you having to actively follow and post to actually reach out to people, but it is far more better for it. It actual feels like SOCIAL media than being apart of someone’s “social experiment.” Bring decentralized means no one person controls or can be bought out by someone as there is a variety of servers and federated places to take advantage of. Compared to just one centralized place.

Mastodon is great!
I love Mastodon and this app is great for its simplicity. It does have a few issues that bother me on a regular basis, though. First, posts are limited to 500 characters even if your instance supports more (I'm on c.im which allows up to 5000). Second, adding good alt-text to images is hard as it only shows a single line of text that is the width of the screen. And, finally, it displays filtered posts at their full size so there's just big blocks of empty space that you have to scroll through in the feed. Other than those few annoyances, it's a fantastic app!

Please show full following lists.
I don’t think the developers realize how much the decision to not show the full followers/following list effects Mastodon usage and growth. With other social apps browsing friends followers is one of the fastest ways to build your network. With Mastodon it is absolutely tedious. You have to open your friends profile in a browser. Copy each follower one at a time switch back to the app, paste in search and then add. Then repeat. I know the Mastodon protocol doesn’t support this due to its decentralization but it wouldn’t be hard for an app to do this seperate from the protocol. I’d also argue the protocol/api should be updated so you can query a list of users addresses from a profile. But anyway please think of a way to get this into the main app. It just looks broken as is and is really shooting itself in the foot. Apart from this one thing I love mastodon and the app. But this is really hindering mainstream growth.

Great app. Needs Local and Federated timelines.
This app is beautifully put together. It’s privacy respecting. And, it’s frequently updated. Who could ask for more? Me! As many other have agreed, please add Local and Federated timelines? Maybe they could be hidden behind an “Advanced” section in settings and be “activated”. Their omission makes the app next to useless for me. EDIT: the “local” timeline is now included! It’s a little hidden, but it’s a step in the right direction. Thanks Eugen! Mastodon is an incredible place.

Seemed More Complicated Than It Is
At first it was a little tough finding a sever to join because I’m more accustomed to centralized platforms. But once I got in, looked up people and organizations I wanted to follow, and got down to the business everything fell into place. Moderation is way more flexible than it is on more centralized platforms, which ultimately makes it easier for more genuine voices to be heard. There are things to improve but over all there is a generally positive outlook.

Remarkable
I decided to explore alternatives to Twitter lately and stumbled upon this world decentralized social media and I was pleasantly surprised to find real respectable people, I have yet to encounter a ‘troll’ or content I find offensive or frustrating. The app has many features to tune out the noise and it’s driven by real people talking about real things. It’s a lot smaller than Twitter, there are no celebrities here and weirdly, it works. There is a learning curve but other users are extremely helpful in explaining things!

Almost works perfectly on macos
This client is awesome on my iPhone, but when it comes to running it on macos, it has one major flaw: the toolbar that shows the post privacy controls and ability to add media, etc, is just flat out missing (shows up as a blank bar at the bottom of the window). Not a slight against the authors -- what they've achived is really awesome -- but it does make it very difficult to use properly on macos. Looking forward to fixes in the future, and in the meantime, I'll just use iOS. :D

Decent app, could use some tweaks
I recently discovered the Fediverse and I'm smitten. Using the Mastodon app to access it is mostly good enough but there are a few things they could improve upon. For instance, on any post you can touch the ellipsis on the byline and bring up various options. These include options to report the post, or mute or block the poster. But no option to follow them. To do that, you have to click through to their profile. It's odd that silencing people is easier than building a network.

Exactly what social media should be!
My experience with this app (website) is one of the best I’ve had. I quit mainstream social media a while ago; and I must admit that I was ready to let go. Everything was ‘clout-driven’. Made for numbers and fictional internet points. Everything was an advertisement, purposefully or not. Mastodon connects me with the pure, early internet vibe I was looking for. Just people speaking their mind. Thank you. My sanity has since returned.

Works, but missing things
This app works as described and is relatively polished in most ways. Its design language is mostly consistent with the web app. Uninstalled because there are no settings to disable animations in timeline media. Not even a pause or stop button on the timeline itself. If someone shares a GIF or video, the only way to not see it play is to scroll it out of view. An incredible accessibility omission. Metatext is well maintained and provides a perfect superset of this app’s functionality. Includes finer-grained notifications, ability to delete and redraft, etc.

Mastadon is the future
But this app still needs work! The main UI issue I have with it is the timeline pops around you’re scrolling and there’s updates. It should pause updating until you move back to the top. 5 stars though because the social network is fantastic and I believe the mobile app will improve (it already has).

Critique
In my opinion, The program seems well put together, and the elephant motif like Babar the children’s story is cute and endearing. And the publish note is sort of cool, because you are really putting yourself out on the web. I’ve had some trouble uploading phone shots from the file size of an iPhone 8 being too big. And also deciding on a community at first was odd. The LGBT was only in Asian characters, and mindful social is the next one I picked. Hope this helps your fabulous platform to connect minds!

How janky can it get?
I like the Fediverse idea and ideals. That said, I've now had to reset my account or password on Matodon at least 3 times. This means at least once I totally lost all my followers and followings. Further, if one uses a very secure browser (I kind of thought Mastodon was at least a bit into privacy and security) then it's impossible to logon. COMMENT ON FEDIVERSE: Don't be foolish, the illiberal and corporate actors will, and probably are, use the Fediverse to further their anti democracy agendas and for greed. Be vigilant. Free speech requires responsibility.

Early Onboarding
The app is functional in the sense that the user can execute commands and receive output from the app without having to manually create a specific instance but without having a guide on how to fellowship with other users it really serves no purpose. Could it be yet another example of a simple distraction from the powers that be or is it just a little bit more complicated than a typical user experience is used to. Only time will tell…

Mastodon is an intriguing service, but this app is lacking
So, I, like many people, signed up for and tried to get into Mastodon using this app. You'd think the official app would have all the features of the desktop site, right? Unfortunately, this app lacks a lot of the discovery features I can find on desktop and in third-party apps. It looks nice and is very stable, but if you're looking to get more out of Mastodon, I'd suggest trying the third-party apps. However, I commend them for making sign-ups easy on this app.

I created my account in a browser and was able to sign onto the network I wanted, but I can’t access the network I am signed into and have anacct in inside the app, the app is showing me all these European-based networks but I’m in the US and I have an account and follow journalists and writers that are US-based, and can access them in a browser, but the app doesn’t even list my particular .social I can’t even find where there might be settings on the app that would fix this. This may be the greatest thing since sliced bread but you have absolutely zero customer support to help someone navigate this app.

I adore this app, but…
This app has been my window into Mastodon and it works as expected. I love the privacy practices and the transparency by the team. However, my home page is frequently stuck in “offline” mode. Meaning no posts load. Everything else works but the app is otherwise rendered useless. I tried uninstalling, clearing cache, revoking and reinstating app access, and yes I power cycle my device. This is really the only factor preventing a perfect rating from me. I hope to see it fixed soon.

Better Twitter, but also a bit boring
The fact that you could easily make your own server on this platform is kinda nice. One server could have strict rules, while another could have as little moderation as is allowed. Custom emoji, animated avatars, CWs, it’s great! My only issue is that there isn’t enough people. This platform is still a bit niche, so I guess I can see why. But I hope that someday, this could be the Twitter everyone wants.

What social media should be like
Finally I am spending less time blocking trolls and more time engaging with people who are intelligent, interesting, thoughtful, empathetic and kind. I decided to transition to this platform because of the ego mad billionaire taking over the blue bird. It’s taking a moment to rebuild my network and learn how it works but it’s not that difficult. I hope that more people adopt.

Pretty good alternative to Twitter
I think it could be better if the sign up process was easier. Right away you’re hit with the choice of what server to join, which is a bit paralyzing since you don’t know anything about the servers or what’s different about them. Also, you can’t search servers from the main site very well. Another thing I think could be better is how likes, comments and RT are displayed. Visually, I find it challenging to tell the difference between a RT or a like. Also, why does it make me enter my login info every single time I want to follow someone? This is highly annoying. These are all things I think should be addressed if you want to make it more user friendly for people migrating from Twitter.

Love the updates, but still crashes on iOS
I have noticed over time a significant improvement in my user experience with this app since I’ve been using. Recent updates have definitely streamlined things and improved robustness. That said, there still appears to be key stroke sequences that cause the app to crash. Wish the development team could crack this one issue…

Please read!!!!
Mastodon I love the app, interface, and content has so much to offer. Please check into the following. Twitter users like myself want to migrate, biggest obstacle is that when I go to see the followers of those I want to follow (easiest way to migrate from Twitter), the option to see following rather than followers is glitched out. Never loads. Please fix!!

Great app
Getting started is a little complicated but once you get set up with an account, it’s a pretty straightforward Twitter clone. And I mean that in the best way possible—it recreates what made Twitter great a decade ago, rather than the mess it turned into. No ads, no algorithm, no data-harvesting. Just follow your friends, or family, or interesting people, or whatever. Have a good time.

Issue posting images
I love mastodon but lately I’ve been having issues posting images. I’ll do image descriptions and captions and then when I go to write my hashtags the app crashes completely and I lose all my progress. It’s frustrating because I do detailed image descriptions and I lose all of those every time this happens.

Love the connections I’ve made!
So far on Mastodon I’ve gotten random history, astrology, and science facts all through my feed, and ZERO negativity. Such a warm and inviting place to meet new people and learn new things! **some have complained that it’s hard to use, I find it to be a learning curve. It’s exactly the same as you’re used to, without the extra drama.
