Mirage - Detect Image Editing

Very excited to see where this application goes. It does seem to be prone to lots of false positives though. One in particular seems to be my beard.

I was an early adopter of the app and paid a one time fee to purchase the app and all of its features. Initially, the app didn’t really work all that well, but what the developer was trying to do seemed pretty cool so I wanted to support it. What the developer is doing now isn’t very cool. The developer has changed the policy to a subscription model so now I have to pay for things I owned before. There is no option for me to restore my purchase and I was never offered a refund when the policy changed. Due to this practice, I can’t recommend the app to anyone. Pretty shady practice of promising one thing and then pulling the rug out from under early adopters. I’ve tried contacting the developer to try to resolve this, but his contact us page leads to a dead link.

Really great idea! Some UI feedback, Something to indicate no editing was found. It’s confusing to say “here are the change” and then not display anything. The toggle button on the changes page isn’t intuitive and I don’t know what it does until I tap it. As other said on reddit, some type of share sheet action would be nice, or maybe an auto crop feature, at least for Instagram screenshots. A+ for going to single purchase. I would not have subscribed to this but would and did happily pay a couple bucks for it.

I downloaded this knowing it wouldn’t work and there would be micro transactions at some point. I first put in an obviously edited photo, and it told me “22% light edited photo, PAY NOW TO SEE EDITS?!” At first I was kind of convinced, because I was like wow maybe it did detect it. So for reasoning purposes, I put in a regular photo just taken with absolutely no edits. The app then proceeds to tell me that it is “33% EXTREMELY EDITED PHOTO” then prompted me to pay again. I kept putting in normal different photos and every time is was a different answer. So - save the room on your device and don’t download this waste of time.

I don’t know if people do not realize this app only works for faces. I tried it myself by photoshopping a photo. The app was amazing at detecting the changes. It is better at detecting morphing etc rather than smoothing, in case that was the issue other people are having.

The app isn’t accurate I tried it on photos not edited yet it still stated a high percentages when it’s a raw photo. However, I took my friends photoshopped photo because I noticed she didn’t hide the bar behind her where it’s all bent and the other side is straight so you see it’s photoshopped but said it wasn’t edited then when I ran it again it stated there was a 50% on the photo. Therefore, it is not a reliable app.

Only works 3 times and then stops working and it never works again it just give me try again in 30 seconds but it still doesn’t work after 30 seconds it gives me the same message again after 30 seconds past

I paid the full price of this app. Every time I tried to analyze a picture it comes back with a error retry after 30 seconds message. I waited for 30 minutes and still the same message. This thing is useless, I want my money back.

I experimented with multiple photos, some of which were edited and many of which were not. It indicates that almost every picture of a face is edited, presumably so that you will want to pay to see the unedited version.

I edited a photo to see if it worked, and it showed that no edits had been made. I tried multiple times with multiple photos for the same result. Then I used a photo that I was 100% sure had no edits, and it showed it had been photoshopped. This app doesn’t work, I want my money back.

Cool idea, but it does not work. I upload the photo and it just says “Error: please try again in 30 seconds”. I’ve tried so many times. Hopefully they get it right one day.

Paid for Pro access without reading all the reviews. My bad. An app that doesn’t work? Your bad. Either it detects nothing, or gives an error. Save your time, energy, and money - keep searching.

The app does not work, I’ve tried it on photos that I’ve completely altered and it did not recognize the edits, I’ve e also tried it on pictures I did nothing to but it said they were edited....

I tried a few pictures that I knew was edited but this app doesn’t detect the edits nor does it remove it. I put my trust into this app to complete a very important task and I paid for it. I would like to get a refund please. Thank you!

Waste of money—had my own severely edited image assessed and it detected “little to no editing”. Upon clicking the “remove edit” button, which would restore the picture to its original form, it did not do so.

This app is a joke. I tried it on completely unedited photos and it said the photo was heavily edited then tried in heavily edited photos and it said zero to little editing.

Just installed it and found out that it totally doesn’t work: it wouldn’t even load a picture for its analysis. Very strange. So, I immediately deleted it. Don’t waste your time.

Now it says error wait 30 seconds no matter how long i wait or change pics. Ridiculous i want a refund

Kept getting error saying try again in 30 sec. So I went ahead and paid for pro. Does same thing if it don’t just exit app. Be nice to get a refund

Terrible app, every photo says “error” literally EVERY photo I used. This app is complete garbage, not useful in anyway don’t waste your time or money on this app.

Doesn’t work. Tried several tests with photos I personally took and it said they were edited when they weren’t. Tried edited photos, and it said they were never modified. I want my money back.

Scam app that only shows ads and won’t show any results. Doesn’t even show fake results, solid garbage.

I am using this app to try to detect a photoshopped photo, but it keeps crashing as soon as I try to upload a photo. Do better, y’all! Thanks ☹️

This app doesn’t work. Whenever I try to scan a photo it says “error, try again in 30 seconds”.

Dude posted the app on Reddit, I paid for it. Now it’s a subscription only service. Total scam and a waste of money. Oh, and it doesn’t really work that well to begin with.

This is a scam. I bought so I could detect edited photos then I tried on a photo I took unedited and it said heavily edited. This is fake. Then I edited a photo and it didn’t em detect it

Don’t waste money. It says yes it’s been edited and nothing else works on it. Mine is not the only bad review wish I Had read bf I bought

This app makes you watch a 30 sec ad and then it doesn’t even work. Missed obvious photoshopping.

I uploaded 2 brand new, untouched selfies just to test it out. It said they were both “heavily edited” It also considers a filter to be a photoshopped photo. Trash app

I purposely altered photos to see if the app could detect it. Unfortunately it can not. This purchase was a waste and I would like my money back.

Everything is 13% even when obviously filtered into oblivion
