I was very excited to see this game sitting on the shelf. First time playing it and unless you know a lot about The Godfather, Saving Private Ryan, or Ghost, All Play is difficult. The questions repeated a bit; we had the same question twice in our Final Cut round. The game was super glitchy and our sound clip question wasn’t even an option to listen to. The Scene It image snapshots were too dark and fuzzy to even see, let alone figure out what movie they’re from. I gave this two stars because despite the app issues, the board game and card questions are still fun and diverse. I would play again without the clips and pictures but that’s half the fun. Overall, until they update the app portion of the game, I would not recommend.
The app itself is dated on function, only way to play on the tv is if you screen mirror…. Don’t want all my notifications up while playing! This app needs airplay, while turning this device into a remote for the tv screen. Should have been the first feature created within this app.
I always loved playing this game growing up. I wish the game was available on smart TVs and not just phone and tablets, but I screen mirrored to my TV while playing and really enjoyed it! I hope since it is streaming that they make updates to the game and add more questions of types of questions to MyPlay or AllPlay as time goes on. I do not like how brief the MyPlay clips are and how the questions have almost nothing to do with the clip, but this was the first launch at bringing the game back. I look forward to what they do with the game in the future.
We played with 8 family members and had a fun time. The game worked great and didn’t have any glitches as others said they had. Only had one repeat on the My Play selection so that wasn’t too bad. Would definitely recommend for a fun and interactive family game!
I’ve been collecting the sentence for a while and I am very happy they made a new one and I hope they make more. I would love to see a New Disney SceneIt. it was super easy to share our screen to the TV. I saw a multiple negative reviews for that. If you know how to use your phone it’s no problem!!!
This app is good for playing movie scene it, however I wish the game had more movie clips and questions that randomized. After playing a few times my friends I and memorized which clips went with each movie so over time it became really easy to guess correctly. Overall is good, and would recommend using on an ipad so you have a larger screen to watch
I tried to play this game with my family, we were super excited knowing that they switched it over to a board game. But who would’ve known that it would freeze and kick us out constantly. This game is truly a flaming pile of ****. I don’t think I have ever played such a terrible game in my life. This game is way too specific, for example “what is the name of the supporting role’s dog’s neighborhood’s baby sitter’s grandma in _____”? #garbage. Do not recommend. Writing this review was more fun than the game.
The app works fine for me, no problems at all. It’s a big oversight that the devs didn’t add the option to Airplay it to smart tvs, but I’m comfortable playing it on a phone, tablet, or laptop. Heck, I’ve played plenty of games like Jackbox by hooking a laptop up to a tv anyway, so it’s not a dealbreaker.
I would love to see game packs available. Back in the day there were different scene it games like Disney scene it, ESPN scene it, Friends Scene it, etc… I would love to see and even pay for different category packs for this game. Like Holiday movie edition? Yes please! Kids scene it? I’ll take that too!
My family was such a huge fan of the original scene it’s! So when we saw this on the shelves it went straight into the cart. We spent an hour trying to figure out how to play it on the tv. Casting it didn’t work at all. The game has a picture that suggests you can play on the tv. It’s glitchy and freezes your phone if you try. I hope they fix the bugs so we can find a way to play
Was really looking forward to playing the game. Since there’s no Apple Play feature, you have to Screen Mirror. Then I got into about 3 scenes before it starts crashing every time. It would probably serve better as a TV App that I just have to sign into, but for now I’m going to get my money back.
It’s a little buggy and wish I had an app on my tv instead of screen mirroring it BUT I love scene it games and I wish they would make more please make a horror movie scene it!!
Big fan of the old board game, but I wish this app would allow me to use my “scene it?” game board that I already have instead of having to buy the one that’s needed for this. Hopefully this updates to be used with all formats
We bought this game not knowing that we would have to download an app to play. We wouldn’t be too bothered by this, but we quickly realized that the app barely works, and you can’t play the game without the app. What’s the point of paying all this money for a broken game? They should have stuck to DVDs.
Please fix your app and website. This game is so much fun, but getting the essential app or website to load and keep running without crashing or freezing is such a pain. Also. Getting the same question multiple times in a row is extremely frustrating.
Not enough questions for Final Cut, went through only TWICE and got repeat questions. Also, expected more recent and current movies since this is the 2022 version. Disappointed.
The box clearly shows people playing on a tv. The app barely performs on an iPhone 10, and won’t airplay to the television. There is no smart tv app available. When you do airplay, It’s super choppy and crashes. It’s impossible to play in a group with a single phone screen to play off of.
Loved the old scene it games and was excited to see a new one. Wasn’t able to play one game before the app locked on a loading screen. Deleted, reinstalled, turned off, turned on again, did not help. Can’t do jack if the app doesn’t work. Terrible job Gamestar+ F -
I used to play the disney version as a kid and we loved it, i was excited to see this one on target, but it is just difficult, not family fun. I barely know the movies in there and the questions are extremely difficult.
Just bought this game. Wish I would’ve read the reviews on the app before buying. Got the game set up to start playing. App froze during setting up my account. Such a disappointment.
I was hopeful for this game to finally have streaming capabilities but in 3 games we had to skip over 10 questions on the streaming video because they were all duplicates back to back to back.
I open the app, sign in and then a blank screen loads. I’ve tried to launch the app multiple times and I’ve left the blank screen there for 10 mins. Nothing ever loads. Total crap!
If I was this app’s creator, I’d be embarrassed by the quality of this app. It’s incredibly slow and freezes every time I try to skip the intro. Guess I’m stuck just doing the trivia cards because I doubt I’d get a refund for the game. Waste of money.
Just a heartless cash grab, making money from peoples nostalgia of the old good games. It should not be that hard to update their games but yeah here it is. App is absolutely broken. Didn’t even test the game before they shipped it.
If you bought this game either return it or play without the app. The apps ui feels super outdated and many questions repeated throughout one game. That is assuming the app even lets you open it which can be a rarity.
I could count the ways that I hate this app. But to save mine and your time we will count to 5. 1. The app is not on any smart TV only mobile devices. 2. It barely works even when it does work. 3. To set up a game star account you basically have to hope that the confirmation email goes through or you’re also not going to get to play. 4. Since it is only on mobile devices you better know how to screen mirror well. And don’t bring it where there’s no wifi. And 5. If it’s not broke, don’t fix it. Just release a disc and send it to everyone who has tried to register with game star as a scene user. Save your money and buy the old ones, Because they are so fun and a great game for groups of people.
I only downloaded the app because the website freezes and crashes after every question. The app repeats questions constantly and has no option to skip or back out so you have to sit through the same question over and over until it decides to give you a new one. The old DVD version of this game was better quality
