Claim I Filed on December 29, 2020
I’ve filed a claim back on December 29th, I’ve turned in all my paperwork needed for my claim and nothing has been done. Ive called customer several times and they told me my claim will be processed soon. Today’s date is February 8th and still no progress on my claim that’s been filed over a month ago. I really don’t like how my claim is being handled at all and I feel like I’m getting the run around from AFLAC and I’m not sure I will want to keep Aflac once I get back to work. I pay a lot of money to have Aflac and in return they make it hard to get the process going when you have to file for your benefits through them. Feel like I’ve been led on and just giving my money away. I need my claim fulfilled

Cancer is stressful Aflac is Worse!
When you get that diagnosis of Cancer it’s a scary thing. First thought is what’s going to happen to my family. Second thought is how am I going to pay for this. In my case I’ve had the cancer policy so it was one less thing my family and I had to worry about. Well I was wrong. I’ve sent in the paperwork already three times the first said clearly I had cancer I waited weeks before I had to call and ask where was the payment. That’s when they told me they needed another type of paper work. So I submit it no response had to wait hours to speak to someone before they told me that I needed to submit another type of paperwork different from what was originally told to me. So now I’m on my third time a week has gone by no update. I’m going to have to wait for hours for their customer service rep who if my last experience was any indication will treat me horribly and give me no answers. I’ve got more treatments coming up and don’t know how I’m going to pay. The takeaway here folks is don’t get cancer and please don’t get AFlAC. Their advertising is pure lies they don’t care about you or your illness and they will make you jump through hoops so they can avoid paying out. The payments to them are taken out without fail but when it comes to you they won’t pay. I’m thinking of getting a lawyer. So to end this review CANCER is horrible but so is AFLAC. May the odds be in your favor! It’s the Hunger Games out here.

I’m writing this because it seems that reviews have more weight than anything these days! I recently hadIncidental surgery that was unexpected and required several nights in the hospital prior to that I had a CT scan that revealed an issue. The one good thing that I must say is that my agent went above and beyond he gets five stars his name is Anthony he always takes care of me and I appreciate that however,The website needs work apparently two of my claims that were approved and as stated that it was paid is not true per my agent because I never received the money. These two claims were over an excess of $2000 that I was really relying on as you know when you’re sick and you’re out of work! However my AFLAC webpage says that they were paid then I go on the chat line to try and rectify the issue only to be told that one of my policies has lapsed but the wrong policy was what was given to me on the chat line. After that when I ask questions The person Kimberly I was chatting with ended the chat without helping me at all! I called the one 800 number and was told that I would have to wait in an excess of two hours to speak to someone this is absolutely unacceptable! I am a nurse and have worked through this Covid pandemic since it started and I would like to know if anybody would want to wait two hours or more when they couldn’t breathe or they needed help?? It’s unacceptable I pay AFLAC approximately 4K yr to take care of me when I’m in need what happened?

A good investment
After my job cancelled Aflac’s contract, I really wanted to keep my policy, so I had my account transferred my credit union. I have been with Aflac since 2005. I make sure I keep all of my doctors appointments, and Aflac never fails to pay me for my preventative care. Overall I have had good experiences with Aflac. This last claim took me calling back and forth too many times to finally get the claim completed, after talking to 4 representatives, over a period of almost four weeks, and the last two representatives were the same person and she finally got it to the right claim rep to complete the process. After having surgery and I could not drive to get things done everyday, each rep gave me different advice, but the last two calls to Ms. Lillian, who while I was on the phone searched for my faxed information, she was very skilled and knowledgeable of her job to put me on the right track. (Hint) when a customer calls to get a form, please just send them all the forms they will need to go through the whole process to complete the claim. This would have saved me a lot of traveling and paying to send faxes over and over again. Again I say overall I am still a fan of Aflac. Phyllis Carr

Aflac coverage
Normally I never write reviews or complain. However, in this case.... since I can’t get ahold of anybody to talk to I am just venting. I have the Aflac Hospital, Accidental, and Dental Plans!! The premiums are taken straight out of my paycheck. When I signed up for the accident plan I was told that once a year I get a one time 60 dollar payout” no questions asked” AND that the hospital plan would pay 25 dollars three times for any dr or dentist visit also “no questions asked”. I recently got sick and tested positive for covid. I went to the health Dept and took another test which came back positive and they gave me a letter to be off work for ten days. They supposedly paid me 25 dollars which I never saw for the hospital plan!!! When I tried to get the 60 for my accident plan.... I have been unable to file a claim “properly” using their smart claim plan. I contacted Aflac who gave me my reps number. He is no longer with the company. He gave me his boss’s number. I left a message and still haven’t gotten a response. Whether or not they pay me the 60 dollars will not make or break me. But then what have I been paying premiums for for 2 years?? Also hopefully you never need to talk to anybody about your plan bc you can’t get ahold of a person. After several attempts.... I am on a waiting list... supposedly they will call in three days!!! I look forward to talking to you Aflac. Thanks for nothing!!!!

Level of frustration is not worth it
Aflac should be so cut and dry. They literally tell you what each claim should pay according to your policy. But instead, they make you jump through hoops then still worm out of paying you the correct amount. My husband was hospitalized with a surgery for a tumor removal. I give Aflac the actual billing form directly from the hospital. I give them the operative notes and discharge paperwork. They still wouldn’t take it. I had to continue to argue with them that the hospitalization was over 23 hours even after giving proof. Finally they review the claim after a couple weeks of arguing. They deny the $1000 hospital stay clearly stated in my policy. The exact amount my Aflac rep told me we would get and paid a lesser amount of $300. I don’t even know what $300 was for. But since they paid that lesser amount for that day of service they get out of paying the $1000 for that day of service. The whole reason I bought that policy. My husband is still off work. The frustration you go through doing all the work for Aflac and the amount of money I pay every payday, just to have them not cover the things they say they will is completely NOT worth it. I am going to cancel my policies and place this review wherever i can to warn others. Shame on you Aflac for taking advantage of those who are sick and needed your help.

Claims
I have had the worse experience with this company. Constant request for paperwork, I give it to them then suddenly more paperwork is needed. This has been going on for month’s! I have similar policies with Colonial Life and have been paid months ago for the same claims. Apparently the reasoning is I haven’t had policies more than a year, but, I was informed by the insurance rep while sold me the policies, that I would be covered if I need it. I even explained to him I might have surgery in a couple of months and he told me there would be no problems accessing the services. I’ve been off work and depending on the different policies I have with this company and other’s, which include accident, disability and hospitalization policies. This has been the worse experience I’ve had. I think the insurance guy was good convincing me that I would be covered and taken care of...but at this point that’s was not a true statement. I feel I was given incorrect information and the money I’ve been spending monthly has been a waste and I could have done other things with it. I work for a company that allows different insurance companies to come in and offer to sell policies. I had one company that did state they paid quickly, but Aflac insurance guy convinced me Aflac was better, wow.

Cancer claim
Aflac is denying claims and ignores all the benefits I’m entitled to in my cancer policy. I’ve not been pain for my hospitalizations, my additional surgeries related to my treatment (initial biopsy, PICC line, Central line for emergency dialysis, PEG tube insertion, stomach perforation & removal of PEG), chemo and radiation treatments, ambulance service, consult at Moffitt Cancer Center including my second surgical consult there, etc. I’m submitting all the paperwork but it appears Aflac doesn’t actually go through the records to tally all of these things up. Instead denies &/or only gave partial payment (paid for initial diagnosis, biopsy surgery, and one anesthesia). I received 35 radiation treatments, 3 chemo injections (one inpatient at Advent Health and 2 more at Florida Cancer Specialist outpatient in addition to days of blood work and hydration infusions. I received 3 blood transfusions at Advent Health (1 inpatient, 2 outpatient). I call and have to wait hours to speak to anyone and they’re not helpful. I’m told to submit bills and when I submitted the bills from Baycare I’m emailed and told Aflac already paid. No, Aflac did not pay for my days of hospitalization at Baycare. I would like a claims specialist supervisor to call me ASAP. This is preposterous and robbery on Aflac’s end to take my money for this policy since 2001 and then do this to me. Shame on whoever has worked on my claims.

Not getting covered for all claims!
Despite the same type of injury in the same facility treated at the same clinic by the same medical staff some claims are paid while others are not. Being in an environment that injuries occur on a regular basis and the need for aftercare not covered by standard insurance or holistic care that insurance won’t cover Aflac fills in the gap and that includes massage therapy that insurance does not understand the benefits to getting the individual out of pain and recovered. This is the reason I supplement ment my insurance with Aflac insurance but the issue arises when an individual is involved so many times that Aflac red flags and refuses to make good and pay the claim. Often a back and forth fight ensues with frustration as Aflac agent after agent assures you will get paid on your claim when you actually don’t. It’s a battle of determination and frustration in hopes you will get your claim satisfied. Sometimes yes and often no. When calling to cancel due to frustration more ensues as the process is daunting. Eventually a year passes and everything is reset and claims begin getting paid again and the process starts again.

Crappiest assistance ever
I have been trying for 3 days to cancel a policy!!! 3 days!!! Of course they don’t allow you to cancel on line!!! BUT, they also don’t answer phones, so no canceling that way! THEN I finally left my info to get a call back!! GUESS what?? When they called me back I was suppose to “press 1” in Oder to tell them that “I” was finally on the phone (ironic huh) OF COURSE the prompts didn’t work and no matter how many times I “pressed 1” or any other number for that matter, it said invalid and it “didn’t recognize “ my prompt, so it hung up on me!!! Then I went to chat…GUESS WHAT? Yep…they couldn’t help me either!!! I had to either call in or fax!!! Of course calling in was a 2 hour wait on hold or getting a call back that hung up on you!! AND of course every one has access to faxing right? So I called my bank to cancel auto payment. Of course they want to charge me to cancel! I have 2 policies with AFLAC. I was only going to cancel one, but going through this absolutely ridiculously absurd situation, I will now cancel both!!! If I can’t reach someone now, how will I reach someone when I really need to use the policy ! I would have rated ZERO stars but it required me to add at least 1.

New changes degraded what Aflac was
Aflac was the pinnacle of customer service always available easy to get a hold of people quick claims money returned into my account quickly. This last experience was dismal could not get a person was on hold for over an hour took two hours for somebody to call me back they didn’t have any information the websites are not intuitive they’re complicated the information on the websites are not clear whether the information has been received or they still need information I had just filled out a survey On Aflac the day before I needed to use them I wish I hadn’t. My agent is awesome and if it wasn’t for her I wouldn’t stay with Aflac I would go with some other agency that actually now has human beings to talk to you and you’re not put on hold and told that you were experiencing high call volume’s when that certainly is not the case Aflac you had it going on I know people are suffering during this time but that’s your job to help us through the suffering that to make it harder

I normally would rate at 5stars. Earlier this years we were submitting claims for chemotherapy. They were approved timely and the money was in our bank usually within 2 days. This was a life saver as I was on disability and my husband is retired. Now I am undergoing radiation. We have submitted claims just like before, but there seems to be a problem getting claims approved. We had one claim paid after 3 attempts. We submitted the second claim , but have received nothing but a message stating more info needed. I have made three calls (after being on hold for 2 hours)and after each I was told all was good. We still haven’t received a check. Last week we were finally able to talk to our agent, but she couldn’t get them on the phone either. My husband uploaded a new up to date claim today. I called and was put on a list for a call back. That was at approximately 2:30. It’s 5:30 now and haven’t heard anything. I’ll call tomorrow. Hopefully we can get this straightened out.

Horrible customer service
I started my claim weeks ago, I’ve done what was asked and started it online. I submitted the paperwork requested a week ago and still nothing has been done. I’ve tried calling in twice and both times the wait time was an hour and a half so I opted for the call back .. the automated message says someone will call when it’s my turn and I won’t loose my place in line.. obviously people are skipping calls because both times I never received a call back.. now that I’m back at work I don’t have the free time to sit on a phone for an hour to two hours and I can’t reach anyone when I’m off work because the cal center is closed.. somewhere in another automated message it states y’all are available 24 hours I have yet to figure out where I’m able to reach someone 24 hours a day with you .. I understand times are busy but it doesn’t mean you get to slack off. The purpose of my insurance with your company is to supplement the lost pay but it’s been 3 weeks and I’m already back at work.. it defeats the purpose.

Short Term Disability Claims
Aflac Short Term Disability Claims is by far the most horrible experience I’ve had to deal for any company I’ve ever had issues with. As far as customer service and claim being processed they are not in a timely manner my claim has prolonged to over a month. Have been waiting 1 month and 4 days to be paid and claim is still not resolved. I keep being told their missing documents that I had uploaded already so aside from waiting 3-5 days each time they ask for something that was already submitted it takes an additional 3-5 days to process once they see it in their system or I email documentation personally to CSR that I’m speaking on the phone with because they can’t find it. And wait time to talk to a CSR each time is over an hour. And half the time one CSR will say your missing one thing and another will say your missing something completely different. Making it difficult to know exactly what you need for claim to be processed. Would not recommend AFLAC to anyone judging from my personal experience!

Absolutely love Aflac !!!
I’m so glad I got Aflac ! I’m living proof it really helps as a year ago this April I suffered a heart attack and it payed !!! Granted you will have to do a little work getting them. Record’s on your incident but it’s very worth it ! As of January 1st 2021 I collapsed and since have been sidelined from work for 90 days and maybe permanent . My agents Alice McGuire and Andrea from Wausau Wisconsin are the best they have gone above and beyond in helping me with everything and I thank them and Aflac for everything as I was gonna drop Aflac at one time because I was like why am I throwing my money away on this and then I was talked out of it by Alice and I’m really glad now that I kept it !!! Thank you so much and to those of you thinking about it Trust me do it ! Hopefully nothing happens to you but if it does you’ll be happy you did it !!!!

Great service, great app
My job offered me the opportunity to purchase Aflac and have my payments come right out of my paycheck in late January 2021. My coverage began on February 1st, and on February 8th I was in a minor car accident and had to go to the ER. I got a CT scan, a diagnosis, and I went home. I completed my Aflac forms, and they sent me money. I had a follow up appointment with my primary doctor a week later, I filled out the forms, and they sent me money. I have another follow up in two weeks, and I’m sure once I fill out the forms, they’ll send me money. If you have any sort of chronic illness or chronic problems, Aflac will probably pay for itself in the first month, and probably many times over. I’m fortunate to have traditional health insurance AND Aflac, because whatever my insurance doesn’t pay, Aflac helps cushion that financial blow.

Claim payments
If I had the option for 0 stars I would have gave just that ! They botched my claim from the beginning . I was approved on 26th of July got nothing called them they gave me a run around on if I even had the ACH set up and obviously I did because it appeared on their web site it was sent and they mailed one and by the way to a wrong address. I called back this Monday and the lady said that my payments were caught up in the system what does that even mean but would process it and that customer service from that branch would contact me the next day …. Guess what no contact from Aflac nor do I have my payments either. Well I’ve reached out to Platinum Supplemental Insurance and I’ve also reached to Family Heritage and will be meeting both this week !! I pay my premiums every 6 months and my wife has her own separate policy but I’m sure we will be canceling even tho my premiums are paid up in through December my policy on Aflac website says I’m terminated lol what a unprofessional mess !!!

This is absolutely the most horrible, terrible, pitiful customer service website and system that I have ever tried to engage. AFLAC boasts repeatedly that they are always available 24/7. “We are here for you,” they say. That is total baloney because you can’t get thru to a human agent to save your soul!! The website itself is NOT user friendly. And the customer service number provided is totally automated and makes you make an appointment for a call back days away! And then when it does call you back it disconnects on you!!! Had no luck with the online chat system either. Same thing, it disconnected on me!! I am beyond frustrated with trying to file a simple claim. This whole situation will probably force me to take my business elsewhere!!! I am just days out of emergency surgery trying to file a disability claim and have done nothing but run my blood pressure up and waste many, many hours trying unsuccessfully to file a claim! 😡

Waste of money
We have paid into an emergent policy for our entire family of 5 for years now. Unfortunately, my husband was accidentally injured…that injury led to two separate surgeries in his eye to only regain distorted sight…just happy to have been able to keep the eyeball itself. My husband is a first responder and military veteran, he did not do well with being down for over a month, but then to have to worry about all the bills was another level of stress. I felt relief knowing we had this AFLAC policy to help us. The toys bill we received was over $30,000 and so far our portion is $10,000 Aflac paid $80 dollars for the dr post op visit and $700 for the surgeries. This was a complete waste, I probably paid almost that in the time I’ve held this policy! Do yourself a favor and just don’t with this company. For the record…I have never left a bad review in my entire life. I’m not that person, this has been nothing but a disappointment.

AFLAC is so difficult to file a claim when you are sick. I cancelled my short term policies
So hard to get paid when very sick. It is like hoops that you have to jump through after an operation. You would think Aflac would call your doctor! No you have to. Your employer? No you have to. It is so hard when employer delays sending forms to Aflac. The saleswomen is great but she can do so much it is all about getting to the dr then your work after a lung operation! For real I had a lung operation then heart catho. Good luck can’t drive no one to help so nothing. Now I can drive but no the blood clots were not from the accident which I fell and blood clots formed. What my knee is torn from fall then blood clots formed and went to my lungs. Then go back to light duty work and guess what total respiratory failure off to ICU again. AFLAC wanted More medical records than I can afford to pay for. So Now I cancelled my short disability plan. Will not recommend it as to hard get claim.

Aflac App is the way to go!
For two weeks we tried to upload documents for a claim to the portal on our computer and used different browsers. We then reached out to Aflac via chat (14 in que) and the rep explained they were having server issues??? For two weeks??? Another few days passed, tried again, no success, called and had a 2.5-3 hour (yes I said hour) wait time. Back to chat! Amd this time Bravo to the rep who instructed us to download the app and upload documents in that manner. We have now been successful in uploading documents for two different claims. We have had Aflac for over 20 years and have had great experiences up until this time. Thanks to the rep who told us to use the app!

Try getting the money!
Why did you take ONE DAY pay away for claim filing? Was this how you got people to enroll and then dropped it? We file weekly claims and it seems like each week the claim pends longer and longer because they want different documents added to the claim! We send in what’s needed, now they took one day pay away and not sure if we have right information as claim status says “in review “ FOREVER!! If there is an issue with the claim you will not know until you make a phone call- wait on hold or receive a call back. Why should we do most of the work? Especially when it’s a Cancer Claim! These people have better stuff to worry about. At least they made the app better to use and it ACTUALLY works!! Aflac is good for the policies and what you would get paid out, IF you can get paid without getting a headache!’

My Breast Cancer Journey……. I was diagnosed with breast cancer
I was not upset in hearing the news, I wanted to know what are we going to do about it. In the next few weeks I went through mammograms, sonograms and was diagnosed as having Invasive Ductal Carcinoma in the right breast. As I was preparing to start on this journey, I prayed and prayed and I asked God to walk with me through this and he did. I prayed that everything would be alright. I went to my Aflac cancer policy that I had signed up for. I remember my agent said to me , Brenda you may never use this , but we never know what is in the future. That was in 2011 when I signed up and I am glad I did. Aflac has been wonderful in working with me through this. I have been through my surgery, my Kemo and Radiation. It has been a year since my diagnosis and I continue to do all of my follow ups. To be a member of Aflac was a great investment. I appreciate all of what Aflac has done for me and is still doing . I am still on my Journey and I thank God every day as I walk in my Spiritual journey with him. Blessings to the Aflac Family, Brenda Arkward

Claim still in review since June
This is Not the Aflac that I dealt with in 90’s. I had acquired the insurance through a former employer. After I left I wasn’t able to keep it. Fast forward I found out about Combined Insurance through my job. The coverage was good but a little pricy but they were FAST in handling claims. Well the opportunity raised to obtain Aflac again. I jumped at the chance because previously they were good. This has not been my experience this time. Wait time for a call back on two occasions was over two hrs. Claim still pending from June. I sent info they said it wasn’t enough info or they couldn’t see it. So I gave them authorization to get info from the hospital. They said if it goes pass 30 days they would send another request. Well over 30 days and they did not make a request. TERRIBLE!! I will try and obtain the info again myself. I guess you pay for what you get. 😩

App does zero justice to service provided
I 1000% recommend Aflac’s insurance policies. I’m not sure how much of my dissatisfaction is related to customer service (phone line never has enough staff. Staff don’t give accurate info. Staff are impatient with claimants- who by their very service are going through trauma) the lack of informative communication, the app, or the online interface. I get tons of errors in app when trying to display messages. Claim screen says see messages. No messages related to claim. Questions asked non intuitive. App could easily provide information I’ve already entered instead of my entering it again. Should be able to file appeal online - cannot. Appeal process not documented until response. Online portal reloads a screen after answering a question - takes way more time and bandwidth than required. Again. Please. Get the insurance. Be patient when filing claims.

Extremely disappointed and disenfranchised!
It’s unfortunate that agencies like Aflac are in operation! I had established four different policies with Aflac (disability, cancer, accidental, and hospital) in case of medical or any health issues that would keep me from working and being able to pay my bills. I have recently become disabled and unable able to work and started receiving SSDI and put a claim with Aflac who has denied my claim because I could do the bare minimum in taking care of myself. I have submitted three claims and they have refused to honor any of them. They have since 2006 taken payment for my policies without fail and when it is time for them to actually honor a claim they refuse to do so. I have recently canceled all the policies I was paying for and would not recommend anyone to spend their hard earned money on this company and their false promises or claims of assistance when needed.

Do NOT trust this company.
Almost two years ago ($5500 ago) I bought into the sales pitch. Really thought I was making a wise decision just incase. Was promised if something happened to me that 75-80% of my income would be paid out to me. So finally something small happened, Dr. said I had to stay out of work for 7 days. That meant a 5 day week, and 1 of 5 the next week. All in all I was without roughly $1800 in pay. Over a month later, and they finally decided my time was worth $33 a day, paid me $233 for my time off, odd considering they paid me $250 for the 15 minute dr visit. $5500 in payments, and these idiots drop $483 on me like a smack in the face. The kicker, they sent the payments to an old checking account I haven’t used in years (the shouldn’t even be in their system anymore) and have no access to... save the $5500 folks, you savings account will save your family before they will. This is disgusting!

Misleading information
My service rep has changed since I originally bought this policy. The new service rep advised me that the fiscal year would be from January to December. I just filed a claim for 2020 that was partially paid and I knew it would be as I used most of my benefits in 2020. The 2021 claims that I just submitted were denied because they said I had to go by the policy anniversary date. Totally not what the representative told me and I asked her about that specifically. If I knew that I had to wait until the policy anniversary date to be covered, I would not of had the dental work done in March 2021. She gave me totally misleading information. I’ve had this AFLAC policy since 2019. They should get their stuff together and not give out incorrect information. Very disappointed in the service. Would not recommend unless you speak to someone in corporate because perhaps they know what’s really going on. Don’t trust your representative.

Update: app is still extremely frustrating. App only opens half the time after the barrage of emails telling you to log in because they’ve updated your claim. When logging in, you tell it to remember you information. It never does. This app is extremely frustrating. When uploading documents it just thinks about it and ends up timing out. You have to log in again, go to upload documents, choose your claim then go through the lengthy process of uploading again. The message center takes days to update with the process of your claim if it shows up at all. I have several that have not. I only gave it two stars because it is nice to file a claim right away through it does not work for any of my other policies like vision.

Great app needs some tweaking
I love how simple this makes claims. Here’s my only issue with the app- if you start a claim and need to come out of the app for some reason you can’t go back to it later, you have to start all over. I wish it would save your claims that’s you’ve started. It would be nice to have a feature that gives you a notification when you go to the claims section- something like- “you have started a claim, would you like to open it and finish?” Also I wish it would save your regular providers information so it doesn’t need to be entered every time.

Aflac is a joke!
I was hospitalized the first week of February. Now two months later, I still haven’t received payment. Not only will they not get my business in the future, they will also not get my company’s business in the future or my husband’s employer’s business once he explains to them the run around we have been given. Our regular health insurance has paid all claims immediately without hesitation. Aflac has not reached out to call me at all. All I get is a message by email or mail asking for more information on forms that we have never heard of and signatures of doctors that I only saw once while in the hospital. I am meeting with a surgeon to have part of my colon removed now and had a bone marrow biopsy today about a cancer diagnosis, but apparently they don’t believe any of our claims are legitimate. Don’t waste your time or money with Aflac.

Customer Service
AFLAC has gone down in quality of customer service. Customer service is difficult to reach, and online chat isn't much help. You can't speak to a claims representative without holding for 2 hours or longer or getting a call back several hours down the road. Today it was only an hour wait, so when the call back came I thought good, I can speak to a person. Nope, call back disconnected and they didn't bother to try again. The person on chat explained the machine disconnected me. I tried chat, and got nowhere. Very disappointed in customer service . AFLAC needs to hire more people. My first chat, was with someone who apparently was handling more than one person at a time, I got their answers, not mine. When they realized what they had done, the customer service person apologized.

Cancer Policy
Although WHEN I took this policy out I really thought it would never apply to me, it did. After receiving my diagnosis, waiting for biopsy and plan of care I remembered... I was covered...through my initial diagnosis, chemotherapy, hospital stay,Mastectomy, radiation and transportation I WAS COVERED. No long waiting periods the money was there on time every time I submitted ! I’m so happy to have had this “IDon’t NEED BUT JUST IN CASE POLICY” I was in tears ...I was covered through Aflac ! It made my recovery easier and a peace of mind knowing w I could make ends meet and get the necessary care I needed..No question it would have been so difficult without my Aflac Cancer policy THANKS AFLAC

App has multiple errors
This review is solely about the app, not about the company. It is really, really buggy. I get multiple error messages when logging in about different parts of the application not being available. It wouldn’t take any of my uploads, so I had to switch to the web, and no matter how many times I checked remember me, it wouldn’t, and it doesn’t have biometric access. When you go to process a claim, it asks you for direct deposit, which is fine, but after you have provided that info, it still asks you for it. Only after selecting “maybe later” does it allow you to start the claim process, which is not intuitive at all. Furthermore, if you want to change your email address, because I would prefer not to receive medical info to my business email, you have to do it through the website, even though the app allows you to edit your info. It just keeps marling the email address as “invalid”. It took me probably 3 tries to figure out I needed to do it on the web. Which doesn’t make any sense, I am still on my mobile. It seems to be form over function, colors look good. IPhone 12 Max Pro

Terrible experience
I submitted my claim back on February 28th 2021 and to this day I still have not been paid and I even have direct deposit. I have 4 plans which includes hospitalization and I was admitted to hospital and should of been paid already due to me being admitted and yet still no payment and I submitted all documents asked for including a UB04. I pay almost 600 dollars a month and when it’s time for me to get paid for service I have yet to be paid and when I call I get told the same thing each day that my claim is in final review and am on hold for 2 and a half hours. Now I’m going to cancel my policy and save my money each month because the amount I pay I can save myself and have more money than what they are willing to pay and less stress cause I would not be getting a run around for days on payment.

Rude customer service agent
I can’t even give a single star to rate my experience because it was very unpleasant. The agent I spoke to was not only very rude and condescending but she was also abrasive. When I tried asking questions about my policy because I didn’t understand it and I couldn’t find the answers myself she became very rude and repeated herself in telling me that the policy listed the information. I asked several times to tell me where in the policy it was stated or if she could send me the information since I was unsuccessful in doing it myself. Or to answer my questions herself because she already knew the correct response. I do not spend my money on a service to be talked down to or treated unprofessionally. I do so by my choice. I have never been disturbed enough to take the time to write a review but today is another matter.

Ridiculously slow claims processing
It takes too long to process any claims. They don’t let you know if the documentation is correct or not. They don’t call, text or message to give any updates to let you know if what you sent is adequate or not. They just deny claims, even when you’ve uploaded a ton of documents for a claim. It’s just not right or fair to the patient as they go through months of cancer treatments, chemo, radiation, surgery, and then even more surgery. Put yourself in the patient’s shoes people! Or their caregiver’s/spouse’s shoes trying to care for them and do the paperwork. It’s super frustrating! It’s been over two months trying to get our claim processed and paid for for all that’s already been done months ago. Still waiting and very frustrated.

Thank you so much Aflac
I’m so amazed and very happy to say I have Aflac as my supplemental insurance. I mean you have handled the claims so diligently and professionally all around. The turnaround is really impressive. My agent Kristie Danner has been amazing as well, helping me every step of the way to insure we didn’t miss or overlook anything as we were getting all documentation and recipients to help in the process of completing the claims.. You guys are a blessing, and I won’t hesitate to refer Aflac, and my agent to anyone. Hats off everyone! Thanks again for making this as simple and painless as it was.

Review claims
I understand that all people aren’t computer savvy, but I think it ridiculous that it takes 10 days to review a claim. Change your advertising on television that you pay next day claims. That’s false advertising. I don’t have a problem with not being paid next day, but waiting for ten business day to pay a claim is ridiculous. Word of mouth about your company is important. It would be hard to recommend AFLAC to someone would at this point. Please review how you pay your claims. It shouldn’t take 10 business day to pay a claim that’s sitting in a que waiting to get review. I think you all use that as a crutch to pay the claims. If you can pay a claim the next day if your claim is submitted by 3pm, why does it take 10 business day to pay a claims?

Don’t waste your hard earned money
I always hoped that I would never need to use my Aflac policies and after I retired I decided to keep them just in case. During this COVID 19 pandemic I spent a day in the hospital and after being released I remembered my Aflac policy. I filled out a claim and submitted the documents two times with rejections both times. I then requested Aflac to obtain the documentation they required from the hospital hoping that would rectify the problem. I confirmed they received the request and they later sent another rejection letter indicating that I never sent them the documents. When I attempted to speak to an agent I waited 45 minutes before giving up. I sent my assigned agent two emails and a month later still no response. Don’t waste your money or your time.

Aflac Cancer Policy
I retired from the Oilfield in Alaska to find out four days later I had Melanoma Cancer. I had a Aflac Cancer Policy for 17 years at the company I worked before retirement.I forgot until the companies Payroll and Benefits specialist reminded me of the policy. I also have a Specified event policy to include Heart Attack & Stroke My policies are still current. The money I received fro the policy was unbelievable and helped out that me and my fiancé got to spend some time on Maui for Sunshine and Beach therapy. I would recommend Aflac to anyone. It’s nice to have if you need it. Thanks again Aflac

Horrible!!
AFLAC has no problem taking your $ right away for the premiums, but then when it comes to filing a claim and collecting, they make it nearly impossible! They make you jump through so many hoops, say they need additional information every few days, instead of asking for EVERYTHING up front! They app is “down” more often than it’s up, so you can’t even upload documents that they request. So NOT easy like the commercials imply. The “chat” option as well is always down, and a phone call? Try talking to a live person?? Ha! 1-2 hour wait time...and even then, it’s IF they can help you with your issues. Will be canceling policy as soon as I receive payment for current claim (if I ever do....going on a month now). Don’t believe the “have your $ in 2 days” pitch.

Aflac Review
I can’t express enough of my gratitude and appreciation for Aflac. Never have I been so satisfied with a form of insurance. I have had issues with past insurance companies, where the stress of covering the accident claim was worse than the injury itself. Aflac has truly taken recovery stress out of the equation. I have spoke highly to friends and family on the service and protection Aflac provides. I will continue to do so. My family and I want to give Thanks to the entire Aflac staff. We appreciate you all !!!! Sincerely yours, a happy customer 😊

Aflac - A must have for everyone!
I recently signed up for Aflac, and opted for accident/cancer coverage. Originally I was only going to sign up for the cancer coverage.. but I am very happy I signed up for both! I went to the store with my son to pick up some things for the house. As we were strolling through the store I ended up slipping, and hit my head on their concrete floor. I ended up going to the hospital ( for the first time in years.) The hospital did a cat scan, and I just had a concussion. However the cat scan was very expensive! And Aflac is sending me $480 which will knock my bill down a ton! Not to mention.. my coverage started on 4/1, and I fell on 4/1. I was worried that Aflac was going to cancel me, but I was pleased to find out that they are still standing behind me. Thank you Aflac team for your support, I’m a new life long member!

Extremely frustrating!!!!
My son is coming up on four month olds and I’m still not paid my full amount! Aflac keeps telling me they don’t have enough information and just deny claim after a week of being “in review”. Really have to make sure to doubt check and tripe check that they pay you for everything your policies cover. I simply don’t have enough time to be calling every week to see what more information they need when I’ve been told on the phone multiple times by THEIR customer service that they “ don’t understand why the claims keep getting denied when it is very clear on everything that needs to be paid out on” DOUBLE CHECK EVERYTHING.

Terrible customer service
Better hope they get your benefit payment right the first time(but they won’t)because you can’t speak to anyone about any problems. Must keep faxing things (the same things) in writing. For the money we should be able to speak to a live person about questions and problems so that it is easily resolved! This insurance, when it’s sold to you, claims to be easy to submit claims and quick payments. This is true, but the payment is not correct even when complete records (hundreds of pages) are sent! Then it’s up to you to find out where they shorted you and send the same papers again. Could be much easier by being able to actually speak with someone!!

Call back option
I called in to have a call back because I haven’t received the documents I requested when I called two weeks ago. It was a call back to be received 2&1/2 to 3&1/2 hours later. When I got the call back as soon as the agent picked up the phone he hung up on me. That has happened twice before with long call back times. Do I decided to leave a review so customers understand what they are getting in to. You may want to set up a second call back if the call ends In under 2 minutes just in case. I think customers would feel better about getting a second call back in the event there is a call back issue which I have experienced 25% of the tomes I have called.

Difficult
This app is very complicated when trying to access your acct, been waiting on my payment and there’s no way to track it and when you try to access your account it puts you thru loops, and when your getting started they make it so hard, you have to go thru the website and the app only gives you some info you must go thru the website to go into details with your benefits! I’m on maternity leave since September and I’m still waiting for my payment and when you call Aflac they take long to call you back!!. SMH just stressful they need to improve this and make it easy to get information!!!
