Gabb Watch
I got the Gabb watch for 2 of my kids who are 6 & 8. There are several reasons why I choose to go with Gabb wireless. First reason is because of safety reasons far to many school shootings. My second reason is weather we live in tornado alley so weather can be scary at times. Third reason being that I can contact my kids anytime during the day. There have been times where I can’t pick them up I send a messages to my son to let him know who will be picking them up or times where they have left their lunch boxes in my car and have to take it to them. My oldest who is 10 has a cellphone under my phone carrier and has begged me for a Gabb watch because she can’t take her phone everywhere with her at school. They can only have their phones in their backpack she was feeling left out that I could message my son or her little sister but we had zero communication since her phone was stuck in her backpack. I wish I would have known about Gabb Wirelss before getting her a phone now her phone is pointless to have since she now has a watch. Several teachers are aware of their watches and know that they can talk to be during the day they think it’s so cool that some of them are looking into to purchasing a Gabb watch!

Gabb 2 first time customer
We have had the Gabb Watch (2) for almost a whole year now. We love the pre set text option, voice messages (super neat), the fact that we have to enter the contacts & our child is not able to do so. My gripes- In the recent month or so our sons watch for the first time has shown him leaving our house at night when I verified he was actually in his bed (he wasn’t wearing the watch it was in our living room charging). There have been a few instances like this. I wish the “live” gps was a little more accurate it takes anywhere from 8-15 minutes sometimes to let us know he left our home. I would like the lag to come be between 4-6 minutes max. The technology we have these days it seems it could be less than 10 minutes consistently. We bought two Gabb screen covers since we have had it but honestly we could have purchased 2-3 more the way they break. We just have kept them even if they shattered. I wish the tasks allowed more each day instead of limiting. I also would love if there was an option of more pre-texts or the option of both free text and pre text (I realize the Gabb 3 allows more freedom). The watch randomly overheats and shuts down until it is cooled. I really wish there was a better warning of this happening in the app/parent’s notification and for the child. There needs to be a 10 minute minimum heads up so they can text or call their parents or the parents understand why they aren’t able to be reached.

Perfect phone for my daughter
We purchased this phone for our 7th grade daughter. What we love about this is that it does what we need it to and that is we can call and text her. There is also a location device on it as well which allows me to see where she is at at all times. We loved this aspect of it as she likes to take walks with her dog and we know where she is as well. We don’t have to worry about her getting on the internet anytime she wants at school and messing with social media as we have seen how much of a distraction it can be at her age. Not a fan of social media at this age as well as it can leave the teens with insecurities and pressures that wouldn’t typically come up until later in life. The phone itself is of high quality and the delivery of phone calls and texts works and sounds like my Apple phone. I would recommend this to all parents who do not want to worry or monitor their child’s activity on their phones constantly.

So difficult
I really want to love this phone. We got it for our son 2 years ago. We have definitely given it a fair chance. But there are constantly issues with the app not working, not doing what it’s supposed to do. I routinely have to delete the app & reinstall & even then it does not fix ALL of the issues. There are many issues with it. And the tech support is not helpful. The responses either don’t solve the issue or they give you super complicated instructions that the average person cannot carry out. If there is ever an emergency situation you cannot count on this phone & app. If you are ok with that, if you are not getting it for tracking purposes then it should be fine for you. But all the safety features & tracking features are sadly not reliable at all. We set up safe zones & it constantly tells me our son left the safe zone for 10 minutes. It would make me think he’s sneaking out except that there have been times where I am there with him. I know for a fact the alerts are wrong. So then what is the point of having safe zones? All of the tracking & safety features are a joke. And now they have apps you can download, but that is also a joke. I have done every step, many times, & the apps do not appear in my son’s phone. If you just need a phone that is not a smart phone then this is a good option. But if you want tracking or safety features or apps then do not waste your time or money.

App/watch/GPS never works
I was so excited for my son to get a Gabb watch. I don’t feel that at 7 he’s ready for a phone and internet access, and I also wanted GPS tracking since I work and am not the one to pick him up from school. From the day we unboxed it, we’ve had issues. Constantly have to delete and reinstall the app and reset the watch and pair them back to get basic functions working, multiple times a week. The GPS has about a 20 minute update lag time, even when selecting the live tracking option. It shows him at a totally different house on the street when he’s sitting in his room. It tells me several times a day during class time that he’s left school grounds, and the map shows him in an apartment complex down the road from the school. The step counter works maybe one day a week. It’s currently stuck on all his tasks checked off on his watch, but none showing on my app for me to approve. Every reset he loses his earned coins and pets and gets upset. I had to use tech support once when it stopped making/receiving texts/calls, and she was very helpful and it got resolved. But everything else about this watch and app is a hot mess and a half. Not at all worth what I paid for the watch, and not worth the monthly bill. Sent an email to tech support tonight after hours so they haven’t had a chance to reply, but I’m so aggravated with the constant problems. It shouldn’t be like this.

Need for improvements
Edit: Customer service has been great. Got the watch’s GPS function working again. The app itself seems ok. I would like to see it have the ability to update the map screen instead of having to go in and out of that screen a few times before it updates/refreshes. Otherwise, the other issues I’m having seem to be more with the watch itself and its software. I like being able to contact my daughter via her watch and I did like the idea of tracking her via gps, but the more we used the app, the less the go’s function worked. It takes forever to update the location and, with the latest app update, the gps tracking quit working altogether! Very frustrating as the gps tracking is a fairly important feature. All of our equipment is updated and signal strength verified by standing next to each other and checking the signal as the app was trying to locate her watch (right next to me!). I’ve contacted support, so if they make it right, I will come back and update this review. At least I can still call and text her. I wouldn’t recommend updating the app unless you are having troubles. I always get into trouble when I update things.

Phone great! Cust Service very disappointing during holidays
I understand this is not a large company like Apple and they are doing the best they can but I think their customer support model needs a review after all this. Thank goodness my husband knows about phones & IT so he could help set up the phone when I ran into trouble . I realize, honestly, worse things can happen. But it is so disappointing and frustrating to not even be able to call cust service and wait on hold. I can hang up if I don’t want to wait anymore. Emails to support are instantly rejected instead being put in a que with the understanding that it will take some time for a response. Then you immediately get a survey asking how the service was. ??? I have been trying to call/email/chat since 2 days after Christmas. The phone is a wonderful option for teens who want to be connected with friends & family without going on social media or the internet. And my daughter loves the music. We are waiting for the music upgrade which was announced some time ago. But there are a few items I need help with to make sure it is set up correctly. Wish I could get help. 😕

Just ok
This app mostly does what it says but I'm finding things are falling short of being truly useful. Yes I can see the GPS, text and call, and assign tasks. BUT... 1- the app is constantly dropping me off and I keep having to re-log in which is incredibly annoying. How do I get alerts if I'm not logged in? There's no quick way to log with face or touch ID, have to enter actual info or click passwords and go through that whole multi step process, multiple times/day. 2- I can assign tasks but there's no way to keep track of coins on the app side. Kid can use them to feed the pet (which is somewhat fun but totally useless, and actually a distraction) but I can't see how many coins she's earned or for which tasks and there's no way for me to quantify any real reward. 3- can only assign three tasks at a time...? Why the limit and why so low? 4-the app overall is kind of clunky and unintuitive. Settings/profile/Go make no sense. You can set alarms but only on the device, not in the app. Can't change the name of her primary contact to "mom", it's locked as my full name which she doesn't like... etc, etc....

Terrible app and poor quality phones.
The Gabb product overall is very poor quality and I wish I knew before I signed up for a 2 year contract! I created the app and synced it with my 2 kids phones and then when I logged back into the app it said no phones were linked but since I already walked through process previously, it won’t allow them to sync again. The same exact problem happened on my wife’s app. I deleted and reinstalled the app multiple times with no success. Logging in online does not give you the same functionality for tracking your child as the app does. Also the tracking function was set to update every 15 minutes and it last updated 3 days ago. Gabb will tell you that you need good cell reception but when it goes down to 3 bars it’s considered low cell reception. I have 2 Gabb plus phones and both are poor quality- they don’t work well and not going to waste anymore time detailing all the issues I’m having. Trust me look for another option like Pinwheel or add a line and put parental controls on a cheap phone and use a different app like find my friends to track. I’m really disappointed.

Everything about GABB is what we wanted!
We bought our son a GABB phone through Colin Kartchner’s influence about a year ago. We tried looking for just a flip phone through Verizon but it was still $37 a month and had internet features which we did not want for our younger son. Literally wanted only it to be a phone and texting capabilities. We decided to upgrade to the Z2 phone and do Gabb’s trade in program; decided to give our son the capabilities to send pictures via text because he is responsible and understands our expectations. Love that they added the GPS capability now so that my husband and I both have access to his location as well as reminders to charge my sons phone when it is getting low. GABB has way exceeded our expectations and the phone and plan is BEEY reasonable priced. PLUS I feel like my son is protected from all the dangers of the internet, Snapchat and other apps kids DON’T need!🙌🏼

Love Gabb!
I love the Gabb watch more than any other kids watch! We specifically purchased the watch for our oldest daughter who is almost 10. She likes to ride around on her bike and play outside or sometimes I drop her off at a friend's house to play. She loses things and isn't responsible enough yet for a phone, nor do I want her having one anyway, so this was the best way to easily keep in touch with her. It gives me a little more peace of mind when she isn't within arms reach if me! It is a little bulky though, which is is literally its only downfall. Things get caught on it sometimes and she can't always take her sweatshirt off or change her clothes without removing the watch. She did have an Apple Watch that was a gift from a family member, but it never worked and has a bajillion apps as well as internet capabilities. Non of which I want her having. Gabb is the way to go!! Hopefully they make a watch someday that isn't quite so bulky!

A phone that has grown with my sons
I got my 3rd born son a Gabb phone when he was 15, when he began driving. His two older brothers had flip phones and liked them just fine. My 3rd son is not tech savvy at all, so the touch screen and ease of use of the Gabb phone was perfect for him. When my 4th son turned 14, we went ahead and got him a Gabb phone, too. As the new models rolled out, we upgraded their phones. My sons are now 21 and 17 and still use their Gabb phones. They recently upgraded to the Gabb 4. They have no desire to get iPhones because they see what a time drain they can be for most people. They are happy with the apps and usefulness of their Gabb phones. They will probably continue using Gabb as long as the product remains affordable and meets their cell phone needs. They may be Gabb’s oldest customers!

Unremarkable
I have waited 6 months to write this review because I wanted to use it for a while before decided. With that said, we got the Gabb phone for our 11 year old now that he is playing sports and whatnot in middle school. We love the idea of no internet access or social media. And from that perspective, this service is fantastic! However, there are many many bugs that make it unreliable. When it’s good, it’s good…when it’s bad, it’s really bad. The tracking is not consistent, sometimes it won’t track for almost a week at a time, even with restarting both my son’s phone and mine. Checking the app for updates, etc. overall, I’m not sure that we will continue the service once our contract is up. It’s fairly expensive considering we are paying for the luxury of keeping track of our kiddo while also keeping him safe virtually. We can pay less with our mobile carrier and utilize other services that provide similar safeties.

Good idea. Horrible experience.
We got this as a first phone and in theory it’s great. But in actuality it is an absolutely useless brick. Sometimes texts go through, sometimes it’s hours before she gets my response. HOURS. When she is in group chat with her friends for school projects the entire texting situation just implodes. She can’t send or receive texts. She can’t even open the texts she has. She has to completely restart her phone or delete them ONE AT A TIME. The GPS location is zero percent useful. It has said she’s at the same place for days. And that happens often. Once it had her at an instacare we’ve never been to for 2 solid weeks. I’m running all the latest updates, she has good battery strength and solid cell signal. (The only tips to improve gps on their website) And I can’t update her location manually either. Overall just a huge waste of money, and it’s terrifying to expect to know where my kid is and then not have any way to check location, and she isn’t receiving texts. I’d rather deal with a data plan and an iPhone than this nonsense.

It gave me someone else’s active phone number.
I have been trying to contact customer support for the past nine (9) days with no luck. Only a “we’re really busy right now” message. If they can resolve this issue in a timely manner, I’ll amend my review. We purchased two gabb watch 3’s for our kids for Christmas. One works great. The other was assigned a phone number that currently belongs to someone else. We can receive messages from my son, but if we respond it goes to the other person, not my son. My son cannot see our responses. The other person responds, and actually cursed my daughter who thought she was texting her brother. We need a new number, fast! I was billed again today for this month’s service. I paid a prorated amount and activation fee but have been unable to use the service because of this. I refuse to reset the watch and pay all those fees again. I have called, sent two emails, and attempted the live chat options multiple times. I have had no help so far. Nine days is a long time, even considering holiday traffic.

GPS is worthless
We have had our Gabb phones set up for my 8 year old and 12 year old for a few days now. They last tracked the kids two days ago and will not connect with the phones anymore. I have taken the phones out of the house to where they have full signal and they are still not tracking via gps. Very disappointing since the tracking was a huge perk of these. Now I find myself needing to purchase something else entirely to track them on their busses. The calls and text are okay. Sometimes even the texting doesn’t go through though and it doesn’t come in delayed either. That may be more of a signal issue, but the tracking is not. The Gabb people aren’t easy to speak with either. You set up a conversation and then they take forever to get online. Then if your phone goes dark because you aren’t staring at it constantly, it drops the chat. I’m pretty frustrated.

Best kids phone and smart watch phone option
Love having the Gabb watch phones for my kids! It totally gives me peace of mind knowing where my kids are, and being able to contact them anytime I need. We live in a neighborhood where the kids are always going from house to house, and it’s perfect when they check in, or we can quickly call them home. We love the safe zones option on the watch, because we can quickly set up zones (neighborhood, school, theme park, etc.) and we will get notified whenever they enter or leave that location. They also have GabbGo, which is a great way to help your kids be active and get chores or (tasks) done. They then can earn fun little animals on their watch that they take care of and get new little moves. Super motivating!

Love this watch
I got the watches for my boys who were 10 at the time. We have had them for a year and they are great! I love that they have a way to contact me when they aren’t home and I feel a more at ease that they have a phone when they are out without me. Plus, I don’t have to worry about them being on it all the time like their friends and getting distracted by apps or internet. It also has a way to track them which is very important and useful for parents to have. We have not had any problems with the watch other than that it sometimes doesn’t connect to charge but that is an easy fix as it is because dirt particles get into the back. You just need to blow on it or use a wet one.

Great for tweens!
My 12 yo daughter has wanted a phone for a while but I wasn’t comfortable giving access the internet. She’s not a good time manager either so I didn’t want game apps or social media for her. She would rather have a regular smartphone of course but this is a good compromise. It’s not babyish like a gizmo watch. It looks and feels like a regular smartphone. Has an optional passcode with fingerprint ID to keep siblings and friends out. I added hundreds of songs that she listens to via Bluetooth. Has calculator, alarm, calls and texts. Takes pics but I don’t have her on the plan that allows her to send and receive. I LOVE it. My only request would be that parents could have more control over the contacts. Unless I’m missing something the kid can add or delete contacts on their own. Hasn’t been a problem for us, but might be for some.

Watches and service aren’t as good as they used to be
We got our kids Gabb 2 watches a couple of years ago and they were great. We thought we were upgrading with Gabb 3 watches, but we’ve had so many problems. I’ve had to do factory resets on both watches multiple times, which means the kids lose their animals and other achievements in Gabb Go. Both watches lose battery crazy fast. They’re lucky to make it through a school day with a charge. Customer service folks are helpful, but their hours are reduced and the call wait times are often quite long. I’m so disappointed since this used to be such a great way for kids and parents to keep in touch without a phone. I still don’t want my kids to have phones yet, but this is probably what we will have to do because these watches are proving to be so unreliable. It’s a shame because we used to be so satisfied with the company and their products.

Gabb Watch
I purchased the Gabb Watch3 for my eight-year-old. I was indecisive between the Gabb and another competitor brand & boy am I glad I went with the Gabb. It has exceeded my expectations and I absolutely love that being able to track my son can give me peace of mind, but also give him a sense of relief, knowing that he can reach me and my husband at any time which has made date nights more frequent. I also love how durable the watch is, which is great for my super active son and I like the notification I can get on my phone for the watch. I would definitely recommend it to any parent who is looking for something great and functional for their child. 10/10⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Would not recommend this device or app
From the beginning I noticed the battery didn’t even last half a day even though my child was not playing on the device. I live in an area where we have great signal and I have great WiFi and despite that, I would not get notifications till hours later which defeats the purpose of having this device. Then the device just stopped responding. All this within the first 30 days. Got a replacement watch and their systems aren’t connecting to the new device even though I followed the sim swap instructions and the account said it swapped the sim. It won’t connect to the Gabb ID. Now this watch is essentially worthless. Not to mention you can’t get ahold of customer service on Sunday and their customer service hours are limited during the week day. At this point I just want out of the 1 year contract and a refund. I wouldn’t have these issues if I had a phone or Apple Watch for my kid.

Glitchy Location Updating
Sometimes the location will update within seconds but sometimes it won’t update for weeks even when I click the locate button. Sometimes when I click the locate button and it doesn’t work it tells me the phone COULD be on low battery or powered off but I check their phone and it is on and not on low battery. My college kids have an iPhone with the find my app that is WAY more useful and accurate; it has always been able to locate the real time location and their is even a button to use GPS to drive to them. Also why is it called the MyGabb app if all you can see is the location? When I downloaded it I expected to have all the features of the website as well. At least there is an app even if it is broken half the time.

Disappointing GPS Tracking!!
We really do love Gabb Wireless & their goals for keeping our kids safe! But.. their GPS is worthless. It only locates my kids half of the time, if that. We constantly receive a message saying my kids’ devices won’t respond. We also get alerted way too often that their location settings have been disabled & enabled, back & forth, over & over when neither one of our kids touch their location settings. And half of the time when we get those alerts, our kids don’t even have their phones on them. It’s really frustrating, especially during the times that we actually need to find them. We also wish they would separate the Picture Messaging feature from the Group Texting feature instead of pairing them together. It would be great to have our kids in a group text but we don’t want them to have picture messages.

I’m so angry
Unless the problems are just with our new gabb watches, the gps and other IMPORTANT features that GABB Wireless claim they have and that they are reliable, they aren’t. Now let’s quickly discuss their customer service…. They may as well use monkeys rather than actual, real people. They are rude, inconsiderate and they certainly do not care whatsoever a customer has been in touch with them for over a week multiple time daily in order to figure out WHY their children’s device and all the necessary features aren’t working and if they do it is for 10-15 minutes of decent service that goes back to all the same problems which make even owning the devices and paying for their service USELESS. ALSO… safe zones can’t be address specific. So what is the point if it shows they are in the safe zone for “Home” yet it shows that they are in the neighborhood next to ours! We are canceling and switching to BARK.

We purchased the GABB watch for my 10 yr old son for Christmas. So far, we are pretty disappointed with the quality and performance. The set up was neither simple or intuitive. The UI of the app is terrible. The primary reason for the purchase was for the tracking and communication features. Tracking is unreliable at best. We live in the city and network connectivity isn’t an issue with any other device…but tracking is so unreliable it’s incredibly frustrating. Calling and texting works fine. Speech to text does not work. Be aware that your kid (like mine) may need lots of reminders/training to remember to wear the watch, to charge the watch, and even to look at the watch (because texts/calls he receives when not wearing the watch don’t get noticed). We would not (and do not) recommend purchasing this watch. It’s a shame because it could be awesome.

Gabb Watch 3 = Downgrade/Customer Service a Joke
We have used Gabb since 2022. We were very happy with our original Gabb Watch. Upgraded to the 3 for Christmas. It had been a disastrous experience. GPS tracking downgrade, safe zones are non responsive, the error messages says constant low cell signal which was non existent the week before while on the original model watch. Live chat is slow and non responsive, phone calls are met with a recording that they are busy due to the holidays, emails are auto bounced saying they are busy and your email won’t be attended to. Do not sign up for this service. They have some major kinks to work out with Gabb 3 watch and customer service issues. Even though I signed up for another 2 years, I need to leave to get a device to that will help me monitor my child’s safety. Unfortunately, I can’t actually reach customer service to discuss because they are non-existent!

Minor issues but still nice
We got one for our 7 year old and 9 year old for Christmas. It barely came in today, which is fine due to the holiday season. The only issue we have is, the MyGabb app lets us assign 10 people (including myself and my husband as guardians), however, only 7 of the contacts show up on both watches. I have tried to turn off and back on the watches. I went through the contacts in the app to see if anything was wrong… each child has 8 contacts, myself and my husband which makes 10. But the actual watch leaves off 3 people. I can’t find anything online or in the user manual on how to fix this. But the calls are super clear and the GPS tracking really puts my mind at peace.

Perfect for Developmentally disabled
My son needed a phone without Internet because he is overly focused at times on looking at pictures that he shouldn’t be looking at at work. He’s an adult, but he is developmentally disabled. He lives in a group home. But I know and I feel good about the phone. He has now because it gives him the chance to text his friends, listen to music but be safe on the Internet. We spent months not too long ago trying to fix a problem where he shared his phone number and address with everyone on Snapchat. I had no idea he was on Snapchat, now I don’t have to worry about those things. Thank you Gabb!!

Mostly good with one big flaw
This is a great watch/phone to stay in touch with my young one. It has one glaring flaw though. They allow you to set a “Home” area for the watch, and if your child leaves it you get an immediate alert. Makes me feel safe letting them play in our neighborhood. However, the app constantly sends me notifications my child has left our home area even when she is physically in my house. They had me factory reset the phone, didn’t work. Had me check for updates, everything was updated. Seems like it’s just a typical thing. The 1st few times it happened or scared the crap out of me cause I knew they should be nearby and thought someone had taken them. Now I just ignore the notifications which defeats the purpose of them in the first place.

Poor quality
I had high hopes for these watches. GPS works ok when the kids have the watches on, but they have to be charged every night, so that doesn’t always happen. The wrist band constantly comes undone, and/ or separates from the watch, making the watch fall off. The touch screen isn’t great, so making /receiving calls is tedious. Customer service is chat/email only, and they are not helpful at all. We bought 2 watches, had to replace both within the first 2 months. 1 lost due to wristband falling off, the other stopped working and wouldn’t turn on. A month later the replacement watch broke and they wouldn’t replace it under warranty because it had a scratch which they said could have cause the damage. The scratch happened a couple weeks prior to the watch not working. I paid the early termination fee and cancelled both watches. Don’t waste your money on Gabb garbage.

Buggy app, lock mode crashes the app
We’ve been using the app to regularly update the lock mode on our kids watches (so we control when they can call/text/receive calls). The watches are ok. The GPS function is unfortunately not very accurate, sometimes absurdly so. My kids will be side by side wearing their watches and the app will show them over a mile apart. About 3 weeks ago we opened the app to edit their lock modes (going back to school after a break) but every time we tried to save an edit the app would crash. Customer service has told me for several weeks now that they’re “very sorry” for this bug and they’ve made it a high priority to fix it. 3 weeks later, no change. Meanwhile, they have no problem continuing to charge me for the service. It‘s frustrating to have these problems with a service that is supposed to make my life easier.

Ideal phone for teens
I’m so glad I was told about this company- this is exactly what we wanted for our daughter. We didn’t want her taken captive by social media and screen time, and at the same time we wanted her to have the ability to call and text. She loves it and is so aware of other kids being too absorbed in their screens now that she’s actually grateful she doesn’t have a phone with internet! The one thing that would give this 5 stars for us would be to have a better camera. She loves to take pictures and her camera just doesn’t take quality pics. She wants to print them out and keep them but I don’t know if many are worth printing. So thanks Gabb for the phone and if you can at some point we would love a quality camera!

Great first line of communication for kids!
My daughter goes to public school and walks to and from school down the road. She’s 9. We got her this watch for communication before and after school and it has helped so much! We love the limitations, no data, simple operation, and kid friendly appeal! She loves having the ability to reach all the friends and family of our choice - makes us both feel a little safer in this wild world! We’ve had it over a year now and are very pleased. Highly recommend to all my mom friends, and will use this until she is aloud to have a cell phone or we get a home line.

Pros and Cons
I love the fact that there is a simple option out there for kids to just have talk and text without the worry of what they’re being exposed to, but it needs a little tweaking. For one the tracking is off sometimes, it lags a bit when my child enters or exits our “safe zone” and it has notified me now two times that my child has “left home” when in fact my kid was in the same room with me, that can be very scary in certain scenarios and makes me feel like I couldn’t trust the gabb app to track my child correctly. Also I don’t like that you can’t access the text messages from your account you can only see that a message was sent or received at that given time. Hopefully they’ll improve with some time!

We were excited but sadly disappointed
I really wish we could give this a better rating! We were so excited about the watches for our kids. Sadly, we’ve had multiple disappointments since getting the Gabb watches. The GPS is very inaccurate. I get tons of notifications that my kids are leaving safe zones when they are home or in bed, so those are useless. We were also excited for the chore features, but you have a limit of 3 and have to manually put them in each day so it’s not very practical. The app also crashes a ton and takes forever to load (and I’m all updated) If you just want something for your kids to call/text the watches are good but the other features majorly need some work. Hopeful for future updates to improve them since are on a contract now.

GPS isn’t working well
We’ve had the watch for almost a year now, and have enjoyed it. However, in the past month or so the GPS hasn’t been updating the location for my child. I’m not sure if this is something to do with the most recent software update or something else (I can’t remember when this issue started exactly). I have it currently set to update the location every 30 minutes between the hours of 7:30am-4:00pm, but I often find that it says it hasn’t been updated for more than a day. I’ve also experienced it telling me that it can’t update the location possibly due to low signal or something even though it was in our home, and I haven’t had issue with that before.

Good but not accurate
The phone itself is really cool my daughter just received it for her birthday from her father and I. I bought a case for it from the site as well works as promised no internet or anything like that which we love, but I tested the gps ability which is one of the main reasons we bought it to keep and eye on her and to make sure that if she loses her phone we will know where it’s at but we can’t find it if the gps is showing she’s 20 minutes away and the phone is sitting right next to me it shows me exactly at our house but her phone is way off we’re both connected to the same WiFi as well. That’s one of the main reasons we bought this phone if it doesn’t get fixed im not sure if we will keep the service. Pretty disappointing. 🙁

Love the Gabb watch!
We have loved the Gabb watch for our 6 year old. We love we can see where she’s at when playing with friends, she can send check ins, and call her family. Two things I hope to see from Gabb is the option to send your child voice chats back- as they can only voice chat you, but you can’t send them back, as well as options to send full messages and not just preset messages. It’s been a little tricky in that aspect just because our little one is still learning to read! All in all, we LOVE the Gabb watch and would recommend it for anyone!!!!

Pretty good but needs some improvements
I love that I can track my kiddos but the lag time is a bit ridiculous. Usually about 10 minutes off, give or take. And lately it’s been saying my one son leaves the house at weird hours of the night for 10 minutes or so and then comes back home. He’s 8, he isn’t leaving the house at 11:30 pm. Also, it seems like you can’t have more than 10 safe zones. I definitely could use a few more since my boys are in multiple activities. The price per month is good and affordable. The phones sound nice when you talk on them and my boys love that they come with a radio. Overall, I’m satisfied for my kids first phones. The app just needs some improvements.

Reliable and practical!
We got the watch device for our 6.5 year old about a year ago primarily for safety purposes. I have read reviews that the app crashes or doesn’t update the location but I have not had that issue at all so far. It’s one of the only products of its kind as she is not ready to have a phone, but she is able to call us when needed. I feel comforted knowing I can check where she is and she feels like a big girl being able to call and text us :) I recommend it to many of my friends with similar aged children.

Gab app
The gab app is great in a lot of ways! To make sure my younger child (she is 11) is where she should be! Also with the other parent being we will say questionable I can check on her whereabouts while at work to put myself at ease, along with having the ability to not allow photos to be sent or received at her age is a big plus for me! Especially after hearing what some of the kids at school say it’s just extra assurance she’s not being exposed to inappropriate things through her cell! I would like to see more frequent updates and things added and location tracking a bit more on point at some times quicker! Aside from that I think it’s perfect for a 9-13ish child to learn responsibility and how to properly care for a phone and remember it always before a big kid phone lol!!

JUNK
I honest hate this phone. Many times it won’t call out or receive calls. But the worst of it is that it never tracks with any kind of usable timeframe. I just checked the location of my loved one and it told me where he was 4 DAYS AGO!!!!!! I refreshed it over and over, and I still know where he was 4 DAYS AGO!!!!!! How is this helpful??!! It’s charged, near WiFi, in a good service area, and it will still only tell me where he was 4 DAYS AGO!!!! This has been the CONSTANT theme for over a year. Once in a while when the stars line up, it will actually give me an accurate location. I now have bought a tracking device to go with the phone, which is much more accurate than the phone itself. Practically useless. I hope another system comes out soon so I can ditch this device for good.

Great Customer Service
I previously wrote a review complaining about the GPS tracking. Although this issue has not been resolved yet, the customer service team reached out to me and assured me they are working to improve the system. I greatly appreciate their efforts in trying hard to satisfy their customers. Other than the GPS issue, we really like the watch as it allows us to be in touch with our 4 grader every time she is not with us. I hope Gabb can improve this as the watch offers an affordable option for smartwatches for younger kids.

Love this phone
We have tried a Sprint Flip phone for our 12 (now 13) year old and had many problems with her being able to interact still with the T9 typing. Plus the $30+ per month for only texting seemed way over priced. With Gabb- she got a really fun phone, with excellent service, texting and group texting with ease. Plus the GPS phone finder function has been an excellent benefit for our teenager as well. Will recommend this widely to anyone who desires to keep their children off of social media and unlimited internet access that smart phones give.

We LOVE Gabb!
Gabb has been wonderful for our family! I noticed a difference in my teenager’s attitude within the first couple of weeks! It has changed the atmosphere in our home as well. I’ve noticed my kids are present and we are all joining together more often to spend time together. Thank you Gabb for offering such a wonderful and safe device. I can’t express enough the complete change I’ve seen in my kids on top of the many compliments I get from other parents. Several families we are close to have switched! Thank You Gabb!

Great concept - needs tweaks
I love the Gabb Watch3. It's the perfect device to allow my tween a little more independence and it gives me peace of mind. The biggest area of improvement is location services. At times, my kid's location won't refresh and it's stuck on her location from hours ago. It won't even refresh after closing the app and opening again. Luckily, I've never had any sort of emergency where I have not been aware of her location or have been unable to reach her, but if that ever was to occur, being unable to see her current location would be absolutely terrifying. Please work on your network connectivities to ensure you can deliver on your promises.

Great Idea… pretty slow
We love having the ability to safely communicate with my daughter. We’ve noticed that the alerts are very delayed. I will take my daughter to school and about 15 minutes after we leave, I get an update saying “Susie has entered School”. Or if we walk into our house together, about 5-10 minutes will go by and then the alert will show up that she is “home”. This long of a delay really defeats the purpose of having live tracking. Is it our cell service provider? Or is the app just really slow? Hope it gets fixed soon because if my daughter gets kidnapped, I don’t want to wait 15 minutes to find out she left an area.

App is glitchy
We love the watch but the app is kind of glitchy and could use some adjustments. For example in safe zone setting it says you can “tap to set a location” but the function doesn’t work, and the radius doesn’t really get small enough. To set a location you have to input an address, so this combined with the radius issue means that his “school” zone includes the adjacent highway. In the tasks function for some reason the “repeat” setting worked for the first few tasks and then for subsequent tasks I can only set the days of the week as Friday and Saturday. I know these functions are new to the most recent update, so hopefully they will be fixed soon.
