I just switched from US Bank due to a lack of branches near me so I was very surprised and impressed with all the features available on O2 digital. The iOS app is useful and modern looking too, but my only complaint is that depositing checks is way more complicated than US bank. The “For Mobile Deposit” endorsement is not very clear and doesn’t work sometimes
I gave Old Second Digital Banking 5 stars despite their use of a font that is so small and pale that it’s a real challenge to see correctly if you are over 40. However, once you are into the system, it is a treasure trove of information, clearly and logically displayed. You will experience the joy of not having to calls the bank!
The app works fine for seeing my transactions and transferring funds from one account to the other. The problem is sending money out with Zelle, something I do on a regular basis. I’m not joking when I say 85% of the time I try to use it, it says “unable to confirm try again later” it’s beyond frustrating. If it happens occasionally, fine, I get things aren’t perfect. But at this point I’m shocked when it actually works. It has been like this for a very long time and apparently no bug fixes. Beyond annoying!!
Use the web interface to the online banking portal. The app is good at checking your accounts but the bill pay functions are limited. You can do more on the web than in the ap. That alone is why I gave it two stars. The west suburban bank app was much better. Too bad that they did not check to see who had the better apps after the merger and not force us to use the worst of the two. If it were not such a bother to change banks I would have done so already.
I’m annoyed to begin with since this bank took over my longtime local bank. To then have the gall to have a mobile app that barely lets you deposit anything since it can’t tell that you HAVE written “for mobile deposit only” on the endorsement and refuses to deposit your check only makes things worse. (Also you’re limited to $9000 a month in mobile deposits? Never seen a monthly cap at a bank before. Reasonably well designed app beyond that, but it’s a one star for me until you fix the key feature of a mobile banking app.
Olympia and Taylor… Best of The Best! The whole team there knows me and my two Boston terriers, Bailey and Molly. It’s a pleasure every time I go into the bank or through the drive-through I left fifth third with my business and personal account, moved it to the Orchard branch. Because Jane used to be there and Taylor is there now I worked with them both in a previous life.
The mobile app will have me change my password every week! I keep the app updated and I still always get locked out of my account every few days! Causing me to have to do the password recovery and create new passwords over and over again. Now it cannot even locate my account even with the same credentials I’ve used for unlocking my account all the other previous times. I’ve deleted and downloaded the app again and the same stupid issue always returns. Highly disappointed if I could rate 0 stars I would. Please fix this app!
One of these days I’m going to leave this bank. Take forever to get a live person in the phone. Mobile deposit checking is tough if you do t have the best hand writing. My 7 year old children has a savings account and it’s flagged for inactivity. Come on…..
I have accounts with chase and old second. Old second Mobile deposit is harder than it needs to be. The back must be endorsed perfectly or it will reject. The images don’t auto capture, and if it’s slightly blurry it will reject. When the images are rejected, you then need to drive to a bank to deposit- the whole process shouldn’t be so difficult. I’ve been spoiled with the ease of Chases mobile deposit system
The camera feature is awful. It says to tap in order to take the check picture. It does not work smoothly. After tapping a few times then suddenly it will turn on the flash to take the picture. This causes the phone to shake and will possibly make the picture unclear. The system that WSB used was actually a lot easier and overall a far superior system. I am sure nothing will change but I thought you should know. Ian Goldberg
I was so happy when O2 seemed more competent than WSB after they bought WSB. Weird stuff has been happening with the deposit check app. Last couple of weeks it shows my check availability almost immediately but can’t use the funds. This week I have lost the ability to photo check deposit. Right before the holiday weekend. Cool. I guess I’ll starve. I do not have the ability to come to the bank to fix this in person hence using the mobile app for photo deposits.
I have been paying Nicor, ComEd, and WM with my banking app. I no longer use their website services as they charge $$$ for the convenience of paying my bills. I don’t even remember what they charged but I know I’m saving $$$ by NOT paying their fees. LOVE IT!
It's very hard to navigate my purchases on this app. Everything is titled with "debit" and a bunch of numbers rather than where i made my transactions. Depositing checks online should be way easier than they make it too. I tried to deposit something, and it took 3 tries because of error codes that don't tell the user anything and just make it more frustrating.
Your digital banking is much more complicated than what I had with West Suburban. It takes me much longer to pay my bills and make sure I’ve done everything correctly. There are too many steps to go through.
The ladies at the Ottawa, Illinois drive up are so friendly and professional. They answer all my questions and are very helpful. It’s a joy to do business at that facility!
I have a check that has a check box for “mobile deposit” your software failed to see that. A rejection box showed up saying that a endorsement signed was needed even though I already placed a signature. Had to write my signature twice and physically write “ for mobile deposit only”
App crashes about every 10th time I open it. Running a new IPAD Pro with current operating system. I spoke with O2 Bank support on an issue I had on a different machine. They said they would call me back and never did. 02's support has dwindled recently.
No one responds to messages. Cant reach anyone from the supplied phone number. No one calls back when you leave a message. Can’t deposit checks because my account is locked even though I was a loyal customer of WSB for 20+ years. Just a number now I guess.
I cannot get into my account. It says I have to upgrade to the next version but gives me no way to do that. I just go in circles and never get in. How do you initiate the system upgrade? There is no place it tells you or let’s you do that!
The app doesn’t read the “For Mobile Deposit” checkbox on the back of the ADP check and so it would not allow the deposit unless i hand write it which took more time and complexity.
The banking app is a joke. Only the “Primary” person on the account can see all the options on the dashboard. The payees are not the same for 2 profiles. It’s ridiculous. Options are not available to all the people on the account. Boy do I miss West Suburban!!
This was the main reason I opened a local account with them and this is the worst app for trying to deposit a check. If there is a piece of dust on the check it will be rejected.
Customer service non existent. Took five days for a call back. Other times over 20 minutes on hold (at least twice)without talking to a person before finally hanging up.
The mobile deposit feature needs serious work. I follow all of the instructions but can never get my deposit accepted. It rejects instantly and I need to retry about 15 times.
This bank took over and now I cannot pay my bills or see any transactions…I will be closing my account if this doesn’t get fixed ASAP…BTW they don’t answer the phone either
This is the most basic app I’ve have ever seen in banking. Can you please get Zelle. Ask your customers what they see in the marketplace that excites them and add those features.
The “transaction” page never shows current charges I have been living for a week with out really knowing my current balance because of it’s terrible lag.
Get your money out now. I’m on the phone sometimes multiple times a month checking on funds they moved without permission. I miss west suburban so much.
