Shure I’m the young person useing this but I know about tech and I know that there’s this bug for me thankfully my call yesterday was off because this bug makes it so I can’t get on it I have a class in like 1:30 hours and I can’t go on the app it will be super annoying to the website but the bug is when I try to go on it just force quits the app I have tons of storage left on my device my wi fi is good the website works but it’s annoying because when I’m playing something and I want to see how much time until a class earlyer than 15 minutes I have to go on the website which takes way longer even if it force quits me and I re open by double taping the home button on the device out school still force quits me off please try to fix its up to date to by the way and yes this was typed by kid less then 10 please just try to fix thank you and have a nice day

I would love a version of this app that was for the educators. It would streamline my teaching a lot and help me keep my schedule in order.

The app does not give much information. It is not user friendly, hard to navigate. Outschool as an institution is ran by idiots anyways. Took 1.5hrs for a simple solution. You can’t talk to anyone only chat. During chat they take so long to reply and sometimes give you the same automated reply that they’re still working on your question and will email the reply later. Copy and paste reply. It’s always a nightmare dealing with them. The actual class has great teachers! Wish it was ran by people who knew how to run a business or at least have a helpful app. Garbage

The notification function has been huge for our family. Helps my kids to class when I’m in the middle of a busy work day and don’t see the email reminders. We miss far less classes now and my kids attend almost all their classes through the app on their iPad.

I wish I had discovered Outschool sooner - it has made my life as a homeschooling mom of a special needs kiddo and his younger brother (who ALSO works from home!) a 1000 times more functional/effective not to mention FUN/interesting, and a 1000 times less stressful! Win win win - everyone is happier and getting more done! It’s a no brainer!

We have been using the app for years now and it has worked as it should the entire time. We are so thankful to have access to such quality education online.

Two kids have finished and are attending a few classes with great experience. Scheduling and time management are pretty easy too.

My 11 year old boy loves this class. Ms. kait Tyrell really gets involved with the kids. She’s caring. So happy that my boy is in her class. I highly recommend this class .

The app is pretty basic. I can see my kids profiles and what classes they are signed up for. The browsing feature could use some improvement. I can’t save class or favorite for later if I’m still deciding. Also, if I select a class to read more about, when I hit the back button it takes me back to the top of the list and I have to start browsing from the beginning. And there isn’t a search feature for classes. The browsing only shows me a selection and I’m getting mostly tutoring classes showing up. I’d like to be able to search for the specific types of classes my kids want. I’d honestly rather just use the website.

The app works wonderfully for my kids and I, we love the curriculum available!

We’ve been a long time user of this company, probably at least four years. Normally we’ve been logging in through the web, which has been fine, but I decided to try the app to see if that helped my daughter launch her zoom sessions more easily. Logged into the app and then went to purchase a class, thought that based on what I was seeing, we were getting an additional $10 credit which I thought was maybe a promotion to get the app use up, which is not uncommon for new app launches. I was pretty shocked to find that they actually charged me $15 for a $10 credit, basically a 50% surcharge requiring me still to pay another five dollars for the class. What took the cake was when I contacted the customer service genuinely believing that this was an error only to be told too bad so sad. No courtesy was given or apologies for the inconvenience of having to purchase yet a second transaction to complete my daughters registration. I’ve raved about this for years to people in my community and local mom groups with over thousands of Moms. I think after this experience, I may have to reconsider whether or not I’d be willing to endorse this platform based on how they handle a simple mistake like this. I asked for a five dollar courtesy to apply towards our account for future use but was told no. I think the failure of the company explain there was significant difference in price that wasn’t even an accurate transaction, is some thing they should’ve considered a lot sooner. Do yourself a favor and don’t use the app unless you want to be paying 50% more for your classes and require additional transactions.

Don’t waste your time looking for real connections and lasting impact on your kid’s education. You will find yourself frustrated with bureaucratic red tape in the rules and conditions for using the app. This app is a meant for using one or twice for something silly like 1 Spanish class for your preschooler. I tried to have consistent classes for two of my children with the same teacher for the same class. Many many obstacles caused me to have to pay for classes we never received. The teacher canceled with minutes notification several times. She would not let my kids swap classes if one had a last minute conflict (it was the same class). She said it was against OS policy. I had a thirty percent increase in price after the first trial class. OS has a 48 hour reschedule policy but it is hard to find and reschedule on both the app and the website. I tried to reschedule a class one time with 49 hours notice and they still charged me. I could not schedule both my kids at the same time at a higher rate (2 kids learning a language at the same time and same level for example). We had to have 2 different classes. They could not be back to back (OS rule not mine) so scheduling was hard because I had to find 2 separate days for my kids to have the same class separately. You get the picture. They will switch to “credits” not actual cost to trick you into paying more than you think for classes. I found it to be full of so many traps to make life harder that even though I really liked the young teacher it just wasn’t worth all the hassle and cost. She ultimately threw so many rules in my face I was made to feel like I was a bad person for using the service to being with. So one less customer for OS.

It's very basic, which is fine if it does what it can properly. My daughter has been having trouble joining her classes. Problem includes (1) pressing “join now” for current class shown on top but zoom shows name for previous class (had to keep trying until they get it right), and (2) pressing “join now” and getting stuck at waiting for host to let her in. She didn't get in one class because of this, and we thought the host/teacher just didn’t show up. It nearly happened again. My daughter was waiting on zoom to be let in again, but this time the teacher sent a message asking if she's on or is she having technical difficulty. We had to restart outschool and zoom to get it working correctly. Teacher said she's been logged on since start of class waiting and didn't see daughter at all! (Because of what happened last time, I even took a screenshot of my daughter’s screen showing that she's been waiting before the teacher messaged.) This has been extremely frustrating.

This app won’t work for my kids because every time they try to switch from one child’s profile to the other’s, it logs out. I wanted the app so they can access it more easily, but this issue makes it impossible. Accessing from the browser they can toggle between learners and they are never logged out. I don’t see any benefit yet from the app. I also wanted them to be able to access their groups, but so far that’s not available on the app. I am hoping that improvements will be made so that this app can be more useful.

Love outschool. Please add save feature so I can shop classes when I hv free time (waiting rooms) and that way when I am planning my next week I can peruse what classes I already saved to decide what to add. Also please add ability to click on teacher and see what other classes they offer. And a fave teachers feature. Thank you. 😊

The website is great - this app is lacking a bunch of functions the desktop version has: most importantly linking between things. When I get a message from a teacher, I can click on their name to go to their profile. Same with when I find a class and I want to see more classes the teacher is teaching, I can’t click through to their profile. I also can’t favorite classes or see my favorites list. I can only see the kid’s schedule under their profile - it is a hassle to have to click back and forth between our profiles to look at their schedule. I am so happy to have an app as opposed to having to open a browser (and let my kid open a browser) to connect to classes. That part is invaluable. But it needs a whole lot more functionality for it to really be useful.

My two kids have been with outschool all year and it has been great. We just downloaded the app and they say it looks cool but is lacking functionality. The groups are missing and the interface is slow. Also, for parents it’s not easy to find classes (the browse function doesn’t allow you to search by day, time, subject, etc. like on the website) and there is no calendar function - so I can’t see what my kids have scheduled for the day or week.

It’s a great concept…except no matter what it never loads, I cannot have my child join their registered class, the button is there but it doesn’t take you to the class. New class searches load slow. It never works to go into the subscription classroom to even message to teacher or review what the teacher wrote. I have to use the web browser to access the class or even join them.

It serves a purpose for all of the iOS learners on Outschool, but I was expecting more from it. My learner can’t even see her groups. The website is definitely better.

Super confusing for everyone that the classes listed on the kids profile page aren’t in a schedule like they are on the website. Makes it impossible to navigate to the proper class they’re trying to attend. Don’t want to rely on push notifications as managing a calendar is a useful skill to develop, and our lives already have too many addictive/intrusive dings going off.

I just got this app for myself and it works perfectly! In a future update please add groups to it instead of only being able to do it on the website! Other than that, 5/5 stars! I would recommend

They are so amazing things on the app you can create a class or get in the class my mom sign me up for this Roblox doors class so fun!!! Also the essay class to so many classes that everyone likes the classes and has fun!!! I thank my mom for downloading this app the best!!!!!

This app is really good! I had been waiting for it for a long time, and its finally here! Its still missing some features, like groups, since its brand new, but im sure it’ll come someday! Thanks outschool!

This program is great for tutoring. However, my son has to use it on my phone in place of an iPad as it refuses to function correctly. After clicking on a class, the meetings and posts sections are skewed and eternally loading, and will not transfer to zoom.

My kids just love Outschool. They can learn about anything that interests them from an incredible variety of teachers with kids from all over! Highly recommend.

I have been using this platform for more than two years. It is really inconvenient to have no app. I finally waited for the app from out school.

Doesn’t have a basic calendar view to show all the classes my kids are signed up for. You have to click into each class to figure out when the next class or activity is coming up. Also, calendar reminders/notifications would be useful so need this feature too. Meanwhile this app is worthless!

You can’t search for classes. Functionalality is limited at best. I can see my kids classes or scroll through random offerings but thata about it. No way this can be used as a standalone or replacement for Outschool web browser. More work needed here for sure.

Their stuff is always kid-friendly and easy to use. I never have to worry about ads or inappropriate material. Thank you!

I love the app but my son wants to do his class when he’s with his grandpa. He has a android? Do you not have this app available for androids?

Truthfully, using the APP, i don’t want to scroll thru all classes to hopefully land on something age appropriate. Will stick w web based site til improved search, sort categories are functional.

The app isn’t set up so you can you use the same search parameters as the website. So whereas I can search by date specific/topic/single learner/live vs flex, the app only has three search parameters and no way to narrow the results further.

Buggy mess always crashing and it removed me from a class for literally no reason

We love Outschool and we’re excited for the app. Unfortunately, there is no option to filter when searching for specific subjects or age groups.

Please make the app just as assessable as the webpage. I would like to message the teachers from the app and have the notifications that a teacher has messaged me from the app. As is this isn’t great…

With no search to look for classes or type in preferences I hardly see the point of this ap. Way to many classes to casually search. What’s the point of the ap?

I downloaded the app specifically so I could have a calendar of my daughters classes. But the app is literally useless. It says 3 scheduled with no upcoming which is false since she has one tomorrow. Not impressed.

We were really excited to use this but it simply won’t work at all! We can see an upcoming class but that’s all. We can’t do anything else.

I like Outschool but the app is useless. I want to be able to search for classes and the only option is to browse.

Usually the app doesn't manage to load my child’s class data. It will crash a few times, and then I give up. Sometimes it manages to load. When it does, having messages and the class schedule is useful—especially when I’m away from my laptop. But much more often than not, the app is pretty useless and just wastes time. The bowser-based Outschool.com works very well, and even viewed on my tiny iPhone screen in Chrome, it’s generally better than this app. I keep trying the app in hopes it will have been fixed, but I think at this point I’m giving up on it.
