Awesome app

I love this app. You can put in pretty much any criteria you want and it will show you all of the places matching your criteria. You can easily scroll the map to other city’s and or even states and you don’t have to change anything. I’ve literally viewed from Michigan to Texas and didn’t change anything. The only thing I haven’t figured out yet is it I can type in on a body of water and have all places pop up weather it be on a river or a lake or a pool. There are some things I’m still looking at. But absolutely love the app.

I normally don’t write reviews but I’m so frustrated

My landlord suggested I use this service to find someone to sublease my room. The app looked promising, and flaunted a 90 second quick posting process. I made an account using my email, made my posting, put the time and effort in to add photos a description etc. I thought I was done then I saw the notice that the listing I had made was not public and would not show on any searches or maps, and that I should email them to make it public. 1) this depleted the purpose of using an app like this if you have to hassle the company to make your listing public, which they never did. Who uses apps like this so they can send their listing to just friends and family? 2) They locked me out of my own account, and said some stuff about invalid listing or something and I can’t even log on because they flagged my account for whatever reason. I literally downloaded and made an account on this app an hour ago, post a listing that looks like everyone else’s, and now I can’t even go on to delete the listing myself and remove personal photos of my room and house and name. Very disturbing app, DO NOT USE it is a huge hassle and didn’t work in the end

Negative stars. Can’t access my own account.

I downloaded the app because apparently for some reason that’s the only way you can post a listing, which is weird to begin with. Why aren’t you able to post on your desktop as long as you have an account? I decided to download the app and try it out anyways and drafted up a listing. There was an option to not put your address so I clicked on this for privacy matters. After I saved, the address location still showed in the draft. I tried to go back and see where the option was but could not find it. Then I tried to see if I can just delete and start over. I couldn’t do that either. Already frustrated with this situation somehow I got locked out of my account. I tried resetting the password but it would not and said my account is blocked. I emailed support and have yet to heard back. But I am getting their marketing emails.

Had people showing up at my house. Don’t post here

I was going to rent a room in my house until for whatever reason this app decided to publicly post my name and address and advertise it on google. You would think they’d realize this is a safety issue. I reported my post after I took it down and reach out through support to have it taken down and it’s still up. So far I’ve had 3 people just show up at my house. One guy went as far as arguing with me on my front porch when told him we weren’t renting the room anymore and demanded he be let in to “at least see it”. Not everyone is just a good person looking for a roommate, and I should never have to deal with something like this because of a stupid app. So please if you do post on this app be careful when you set up your posting and exercise caution when giving this app any of your personal information.

Use ROOMI instead!

This was impossible to use and I got no help when I emailed them. My Facebook account has always been attached to my old college email address. PadMapper uses your Facebook profile to “validate” who you are and will not let you change the email address from the Facebook email address. When I tried to set up another account with my actual email address, they again asked to verify with Facebook and rejected my listing because my profile was already tied to another account. So now I have no way to create a listing with a working email attached to it. I’ve tried to delete my previous account to no avail. Also the idea that you can only post from your iPhone is inconvenient and unnecessary. I very much recommend everyone here try Roomi instead. You validate who you are with government issues IDs and you can perform a background check.

Easy to use found a place quick!

I have tried all kinds of apps and sites to find places but padmapper is the best! I found an apartment in my first day of looking with padmapper. Also the places I contacted through the app actually got back to me quickly unlike other sites I’ve tried. It’s super easy to use and it turns properties you’ve already looked at a different color on the map (this sounds stupid until you’ve spent weeks looking at maps) I would 100% recommend this to anyone looking for a place. I’ll use it again when I move for sure!

My first review ever here

I have used several good rental apps, and some of them have been very helpful. However, what really impressed me about PadMapper is its ability to send the same message to multiple property agents at once. Additionally, when you contact the first one, PadMapper suggests related properties and allows you to contact them without needing to reach out separately to each one.

Please have the option to exclude Tech Dorm listings

Hi PadMapper peeps. Great app, only frustration is that not everyone works in Tech, nor even if they do, wants to live in one of those ‘Tech Dorm’ living spaces. I think you know which ones I’m talking about when a buldings puts in either bunk beds and or single beds. Please put in the filter option, like you have for ‘Exclude AirBnB’....exclude Tech Dorms. I will forever be so appreciated. I think one of the biggest things that all apps miss is the putting yourself in the shoes of the app user (empathy) and how easy it is to use with all of the features to organize, etc. Otherwise- thank you for an amazing app and experience. 💜

Absolutely horrible

I was wondering why nobody was contacting me about my rental listing. Then I realized that the account re-linked itself to my FB email address, which is not a real email account. I tried changing my FB email, but it won't let me. I tried making a new Padmapper account in my husband's name, but I must have typed the wrong password the first time; after attempting to link his FB account, it asked me to input the password again. I put in the password and it was wrong. I tried to change the password and it asks for the old one. I am literally ready to bang my head against a wall. I don't think they have customer service either, so now it is likely impossible for me to list anything on there. Screw this app and the headache it brings.

Hot Garbage

Total garbage for people trying to do a posting. Unbelievable how poorly info is communicated on the app. The fact that you have to download their app just to post is just dumb, why not have options, like an option to use your computer to post like all the other sane posting sites do. Also, why not state that the user has to contact the company to actually post something, which isn’t very clear when you set up a posting. I waited for a couple days and realized my posted wasn’t showing up because I hadn’t contacted the company. Should just be a submit tab and that’s it, so confounding why they set it up like this. The app is not intuitive at all. It might be a great platform for looking but for posting, forget it.

Great app but way too many emails

I really like this app and the features it offers. However the frequency of the emails is WAY too often. I get 5+ emails a day from this app sometimes. I don't mind being notified when new listings pop up, but it sends emails from every neighborhood surrounding the ones I am looking at and it is very overwhelming. Please allow us to adjust the frequency of emails to maybe 1 per day. This is otherwise a really great app for apartment hunting especially in larger cities.

Can’t change Facebook email

Awesome concept but can’t use it due to the below. I signed in for padmapper using Facebook to login but my Facebook email was outdated. I tried to switch my email on Facebook but your padmapper account keeps the original email you signed up with your Facebook at the time of originally signing up for padmapper. Once you synch your Facebook account it won’t let you unsynch your Facebook account and therefore you are stuck with whatever email you originally signed up with. A very specific problem but now I can’t receive emails from this app because they force you to synch your Facebook and resetting it does nothing.

Useless

So far this app is worthless. I created a post and listed it and then it says that it’s not listing in the search and then I need to contact customer support. I tried verify my identification through the email that it sent me only to find that it will not do so because of some software issue. Perhaps if I get this problem resolved I will upgrade my review but as of right now it’s not worth the download. had my first review actually posted like it should’ve I wouldn’t be writing a second one which is annoying considering I don’t usually write reviews but since this one’s a pointless app I feel It appropriate to share my experience.

Not worth the time to use

After searching for a place over 4 months and reached out to ask how can I report a fake listing after calling a different number based on the address for the location and after reaching out to ask how can we report a site and advised them the number and email address is not valid, I was told: All contact information to get in touch with the property is available on the listing page for the property. Zumper does not have any additional information on how to get in touch with the person or company responsible for managing the property, nor do we reach out on your behalf. So I’m informing you of a fake listing and this is your response.

PadMapper issues

I like the app but my issue was that several times when I went to view apartments, the rent amount was higher than what was listed on PadMapper. Since I was budgeting for a specific amount, this was extremely irritating and a waste of my time. The properties would say the app hadn’t updated in a timely fashion. ??? I did however, find an apartment using the app that I’m pleased with and in my budget. All in all, I would recommend this app.

Technology is wonderful

I love this app I love the layout and how it runs it makes all those annoying things about house searching a bit easier to deal with I even enjoyed how it sent email and text reminders it would be cool to have it also sync with my calendar and I’m sure it does somehow lol but really I love this app and now I will be recommending this to anyone who is looking

Best apartment finding app in the App Store

I had to move in a hurry this month and I downloaded every app I could find and PadMapper is far and away the app that gave me the most productive leads that matched what I was looking for. I will be deleting all the other apps from my phone so I know what to use next time I have to rent!

Looks pretty crooked

At first, I really liked PadMapper. They rarely sent me ‘no pet’ listings. I thought it was an ‘on the ball’, detail oriented group of app developers. But now I am starting to think it’s rigged. The same ‘rented’ place has Stayed on PadMapper At Least 10-14 days. I reported it as rented Twice myself. It’s still there. When you click on this apartment, they try to sell you another for $450 MORE! Hey, I can get bait and switch from property managers, and the price difference is only $100! Maybe PadMapper is getting a payoff from some of the realty companies! Best way to find apartments is thru people you meet!

Got so many responses

Reviewing from Pittsburgh - this town loves Padmapper! Craigslist got me zero responses. With only two weeks left to find someone I was super worried about how I was going to advertise until someone on Reddit recommended this app. To my relief, I got dozens of inquiries within a few days and rented my apartment the same week I signed up! Extremely grateful.

Meets all my needs

PadMapper is a simple, no fluff app. It has just what you need to find a place in your area. The only issue I have had, is that an apartment show up in my area that had the same exact address as another apartment that was in a different state. That’s not a reason to stay away from this app though, since it’s the only time it’s happened. I wanted to share the good and the bad though.

Thank you Padmapper

This is taking the stress out of moving for me. I’ve been in Denver for the past month searching for 1br apartments. I finally found out about PadMapper from Reddit. This app has been the most helpful so far out of all of the ones I’ve tried. The daily recommendations are great too.

Phone crashes

Every time I’m on this app for more than 5 minutes, it freezes and then my entire phone crashes. I have an iPhone XS and have never came across this problem with any other app I have used. It completely turns off my phone and I can only turn it back on by charging it. Once it turns on, I see I have over 50% battery life is it’s not that. I will have to look elsewhere for an apartment until they figure out what is going on.

Everything I was looking for and more!

Found my perfect apartment ok PadMapper. I could not have been more pleased with the customer service I received! They didn't stop until I was satisfied with my apartment. I will most definitely be using it in the future.

Easy-to-use but I haven’t had any luck

I like the app but I haven’t received any responses from apartments. I wish there was a filter to search for “Verified Only” apartments. I also wish there was as a filter for how recent the posting is (on the website, you can choose postings that are no more than 6 days old)

Great housing app

My friend just recommended this to me as I was getting tired of scams on Craigslist. Great app, with a lot of amazing places that weren’t on any of the others. My new go-to for apartment searching.

Can’t add the photos I want

When I go to create a post and I tap on Photo Library and then select the photos I want, it only shows some of them on Padmapper on a screen titled Recents, with the photos showing in two columns with a large white gap in the middle. I don’t see the main photo I want to add. I see this app hasn’t been updated in several months, are people still using it?

Terrible app, poorly thought out and spammy

When I sent a message to an apartment manager for a place I was interested in, I would get a notification in my email that they had replied. However, their response wasn’t in the email, and nowhere in the app or my PadMapper profile. It said to reply to the email to see what the apartment manager said; however, once I sent an email, I didn’t see any message. So basically, someone thought a good method would be for people to blindly reply to messages they can’t read. Also, I’ve had to unsubscribe to emails and alerts in three different places now, my inbox was slammed with notifications I didn’t want and didn’t ask for. Never using this again.

Big fail for requiring FB to post

PadMapper was a great web app when it arrived. From what I see now, the web app has been cut down so it doesn’t allow posting an apt. Instead, one has to download this app. But the biggest sin is requiring FaceBook to post an ad. Ostensibly for verifying that I am a real human, it is terrible that PadMapper forces one to get a FB account in this day and age of account safety breaches and FB losing trust faster than the Titanic sank. I don’t and will never have FB. Now I won’t have PadMapper as well.

Horrible App

I would leave zero stars if I could. I was trying to rent out a room and my account was closed and deemed “malicious” without even contacting me as to why they would do this. Contacting the company has proved to be of little help as they just said there were multiple reports against my account but could not provide any more information. This app is a scam and I would not recommend for anyone to use it.

Don’t download

I live in Fredericksburg, VA. I put this as my boundary while looking for a new house/apartment. I also put a filter on for the price range. I received nothing but notifications from apartments over 5 hours away, and almost every apartment listed in my range was way over my price range. I had an easier time just googling “apartments for rent near me” than I did using this useless app.

Posting a rental is painful

I really wish PadMapper supported posting a rental from their website. Posting from the app is painful due to the need to copy content from my computer to my phone. This is especially true for photos. Photos are displayed in reverse-chronological order, with no way to view albums/collections. This resulted in a lot of scrolling to find photos.

One of the better apartment hunt apps

I actually found my spot in Boston through PadMapper and I’m hoping to make it 2 for 2 with finding a place in NYC. Filters are great and it’s very easy to use

This app is a SCAM - DO NOT DOWNLOAD

This app used to be super useful for renters and subletters. Now regular people can’t post their “pads.” They will delete your account, mark your posting as “malicious” and when they email them, they give you a form response that tells you that you somehow violated their terms of service, but not HOW you violated their “terms.” This app is nothing more than a scam now, what a shame.

Good but annoying

Sends push notifications saying new units are available. When you click on it it says no new updates. Does this multiple times within an hour. It’s super annoying. I ended up disabling notifications entirely.

Keeps crashing : (

Seems like a great app, if it wasn’t for the constant crashes. I am using the latest iPad Pro on the latest iPad OS and every few swipes when looking at pictures it crashes and reboots. This is the only app that I have where this is happening. Would be fantastic if this could be fixed.

Deleting the account issues

I cannot believe how unnecessarily long and difficult. You are not able to click one button and get rid off the info you provided to the company. I signed up 3-4 days ago. Sent a request 2 days ago. Still waiting to remove my info. Such a hassle.

App Won’t Open on iOS for XR

I couldn’t post a listing online so tried to use the app. I set up the entire account and created a listing using the app, but when I try to post, the app dies. Just disappears! My phone is iPhone XR with the latest software updates, so a bit puzzled about crashing issues with the app. And how is there no method to post thru a browser on the computer?

App great, but the listings are not

The app is great and easy to use. But I find that when I send a request to view a place via PadMapper, I almost NEVER got a response from the listing agent/landlord. If I contact that person for the same listing via Craigslist, I’ll get a response PadMapper needs to do a better job of getting the people placing the ads to actually respond to inquest.

Super slow

This is a good app for looking apt but lately is SUPER slow. It takes minutes to refresh the map, to close one view and open another. Whatever they did in this update is completely wrong and hope they fix it.

You can check out any time you like...

but you can never leave. Can’t delete my account or change my email. I’ve never had anyone respond to my messages on this app. Total waste of time. So basically they get your email and can say you’re another user for their numbers until the end of time.

Why would Facebook verification override email address?

Useless app. I tried to post an apartment but would never be able to see responses because I could not adjust the email address it was attached to even after changing it on Facebook and restarting/relogging in to PadMapper app. Extremely frustrating and unhelpful.

Usually great, but been broken for a while

I used to be able to filter based on price, but that filter seems broken. Have deleted and redownloaded but the problem is still there. Hope it gets fixed soon!

Rent Range

One major feature for apartment search should be price. However on this app, you can’t select a maximum range. It defaults to $3000 and doesn’t change. I’d prefer to pay $1800 or less for a studio but the ap doesn’t give that sort of option

App Does Not Work.

Not sure what's going on but suddenly the app does not show a single "pad" anywhere in the United States. My internet clearly works (since you can read this), and my filters have been expanded from $0-$5000, so something is definitely bound to be caught.

Not worth the download

Not helpful at all. The listings, had very few photos, often not representative of the apartment that is actually available. There were no floor plans, or sq footage options. Some listings didn’t even have the apartment community’s real title. I wanted to like the app, but it just wasn’t very helpful at all for me.
