Kids can hack it
We have utilized Q for a few years now on both of our teens (13 & 15 years) iso phones. My husband & I both have the parent end of the app on our phones, it’s nice for both of us to be able to oversee their activity & set controls as needed. Overall we have been very satisfied with the ability to monitor, steer & hold our kids accountable, which would be near impossible to do otherwise. Thank You Q I did give 4/5 stars because..... our oldest has figured out how to go in & shut off the daily time allotment we set for her, which is 4 hours. This takes place on the parents end of the app. I even frequently update my password, we are unsure how she is doing this. She has also gone in & shut off location services and few times when she’s being sneaky. So it is not entirely child proof from their end of things. Overall though it is a fantastic app when it comes to keeping a finger on your child’s pulse.

Meh
Been using this for a while on my 14yr old son’s PC. Did the trial that ran out and the free version was fine for what we needed it for. Recently he’s been on his phone a lot during class. iPhone’s Screen Time apparently didn’t work so before spending money I swapped the Qustodio protection to his iPhone to block use during school hours starting yesterday, 8:20-2:40. First issue is the time intervals, hour blocks don’t work for most schedules. I had to pick 9-3pm because he’s still commuting at 8am and I want him to have access to his stuff and didn’t want to end it at 2pm because he’s still in class. At the very least there should be 1/2 hr blocks if not 10mins! Another immediate issue when he got to school, when he was in class he needed to take a pic with his phone (Film class) then upload to Google Classroom…except it was blocked on his phone because it’s all or nothing. There’s no way to “always allow” particular apps! Not limits, which are of no use when the phone is on lock down. I asked why he didn’t use his school Chromebook and he said because he took the pic from his phone. Fair enough. I had to take off the block to let him do that then put it back on. Decided to pay for the small package thinking I was limited because I was using the free version and nope. Same thing. There’s really nothing more I need with the paid version that I didn’t already have, like location tracking and app limits. Messaging and call tracking don’t work on iPhone anyway.

Very helpful
We have used this app for over 2 years. For the most part it has been a very helpful tool when it comes to keeping our kiddos accountable for their screen usage and for blocking unwanted temptations and trolling. We use it along with Screen time on their iphones and as the main monitoring software on their microsoft laptops. I know others have commented that it doesn’t work with Screen time, but we found that if you set allow on each ios app inside of Qustodio, screen time does it’s job on the iphone well. We use it on iphone to keep track of the total time they’ve been on a screen throughout the day. We have 2 major complaints with Qustodio. First, the time zones are not correct. So if you use the restricted times on your devices every thing gets thrown off by an hour. Example, they have PT at 8:00 with MnT at 7:00. We live in Colorado and these times should be switched. Second, their calls and messaging monitoring only works sometimes. You have to us it from a laptop or desktop and you have to leave your computer on all the time. If you shut it down or close your MacBook you lose the connection and have to reset everything in order to start monitoring again. At the moment the program is turning itself on and off by itself on my macbook, so am trying to completely delete it.

If you are a parent please listen to me..
I am a 15 year old girl and I do consider my parents to be strict but I do love them. I get that you want to protect your kid and have control over them but I promise this is not the way. Ever since I downloaded the app I always fight with my parents and try to make them understand that I am responsible enough to leave my phone and can handle myself, I just feel preassured all the time because I always have to have an excuse to why I cant answer my friends and why my wifi doesn’t work but I’m so tired of it, I have lost my mind and I love my dad so much but I hate it that I have no privacy anymore and I have told him I hate him and have had the worst arguments over this. All I asked him was to trust me or try and make it work for a week without the app so he could see that I wouldn’t spend that much time on the phone. I have cried so much ever since that app got into the way of our relationship and yes, I do understand but instead of taking your child’s privacy away try talking to them and making sure that they understand that they shouldn’t spend too much time on the phone and making sure they know you love them but I promise this is not the way all it will do is cause fights and since my dad doesn’t want to hear me maybe some parent will and might understand their child for once.

to parents
im a 16 year old. you'd think- "wow, you must have freedom with your technology just like all of the other kids your age!" incorrect. since my parents got this app, it has driven our relationship apart, embarrassed me around my friends, made me feel left out and outcasted, and given me a general complex that ive always done something wrong. im too scared to look up certain things that are essential for me to know out of fear that my parents will see it. all my friends have freedom with their phones and i dont. my privacy has been violated constantly. my brother has a history of using technology to look up things he should NOT be exposed to so young, and my parents use this app to try and prevent him from continuing these habits (he still does it. the app doesnt stop it). i also got this app because of him. it's so frustrating feeling like i cant be trusted and that ive always done something wrong. i feel constantly guilty. multiple times, my parents have taken the restrictions off through their app just for my phone to not function properly afterwards. they've had to remove it and reinstall it three times. the app is glitchy and slow. i had to get an entire new phone because the program was causing my phone to be unresponsive. it is NOT worth it- the hassle, the money, the relationship with your child.

Not worth it
I don’t feel like this has been worth the large sum of money I spent. I liked it as a free tool for one teen but having paid as much as I did you would think it would be more reliable and have more convenience. You can’t specify different time limits for different apps. It was useless for the first 5 months while my kids were in school on their devices because It was all or nothing. I’m regularly having to give my kids extra time because Qustodio says they used all their time but they swear they haven’t used any. I look at their activity to show them and Qustodio shows no activity for the day, as does Screentime, so then I have to just give them more time in all fairness. How does it say they used up all their time but on nothing?! I find it inconvenient when I’d like to encourage them to spend time on educational apps by allowing separate time on that. I find it a huge hassle that if there’s a random odd day where I want to allow them online after our usual rule I have to change the rule completely then set it again instead a simple button to extend their time. It shows me what their search activity is and blocks certain websites I wouldn’t want them on which is good but is that worth 100 something dollars? Not really.

App doesn’t work as described and they don’t care
I have purchased the package for 5 devices plus support. 1. In order for you to speak with someone (even with the support package) you need to schedule a call via the website. 2. The app was showing screen time usage for 3 of the 4 iPads even when not in use (showing an average of 23:40 per day). 3. When setting restricted times, all it does is shut of the connection to the internet. So the child can still use the iPads even after hours as long as it’s a non-internet game. 4. Most surprising. When restricted time was on, the wifi only iPads were still able to send and receive messages via the native iOS messenger app and via Facebook’s messenger kids app. So your child can stay up all night texting. The solution offers was to reinstall the app (which I did multiple times, even once following reps instructions on the phone). It did not help. Tier 2 had no interest in trying to resolve the problems but rather hinted that I should ask for a refund. Update for the developers: the email address I used for the program is not the same as my iCloud account. I have paid for the upper level support so I spoke with that person. I have emails and screenshots to support what I’ve stated above.

Good in theory, poor in execution
With the caveat that we’ve only had this a few days, I’ve seen some significant gaps in Qustodio’s functioning. First, the idea that this can be an “invisible” installation on a computer is patently false. Yes, it won’t show up on the desktop, but it shows up in a simple search or scrolling the “uninstall apps” list. My kid found it within 30 seconds of the first time he got on his computer and immediately uninstalled it. Secondly, the parents app has limited functionality compared to what you get by logging in on the desktop. For example, you can’t adjust the off times from the app, if your kid needs to stay on late to finish homework, for example. Third, and this is my pet peeve with most of these type of apps: there’s no “kill switch.” I want a big button that lets me immediately lock out access to the monitored device, without having to go through menus, adjust time limits or off times, or whatever. Just immediately (and temporarily) lock it out and eventually re-enable it without having to change settings back. Is that so hard? Given that a year of this costs $50, I’ll give it some more time to see if it gets better, but otherwise I’m looking elsewhere...

Please don’t get this
Parents please hear me out: As someone who has been through several depression episodes THIS APP MAKES NOTHING BETTER AND INFACT MAKES EVERYTHING 10X WORSE THAN IT ALREADY IS. My parents already check my phone at night and I don’t mind that. What I hate is this app. It monitors everything I do and say on my phone, and will in fact not make your child better but just sneak things around because they have overprotective parents. What happened to trusting people? I understand if your child has depression or something like that but I promise monitoring them just makes them feel like they aren’t even trustable anymore and they never will be. I am just a teen and have never had kids so if I had a kid struggling I would hear them out about what there struggling with instead of hopping to conclusions and blame the phone and treat them like toddlers because they have a problem completely out of their control. To the parents who just want to keep their kids safe please avoid this app and just go through their device because I promise that you don’t need to know every single message or exactly the amount of time they have been on a app. Let the child have the privacy that they deserve. Thanks for reading

This app is completely broken on iOS 17
We’ve been using this app for three years now, and we’ve seen a steady decrease is control of my son’s iOS device. It finally broke with the upgrade to iOS 17. We used to be able to give him a time limit on Instagram that he could use in that app. Now, no matter what we set the limit to, Qustodio won’t allow him to refresh his feed. The only way to allow Instagram access is to remove Qustodio for a period of time. Games and apps are unevenly blocked, as well. Some games aren’t even reported in the activity feed. The only thing that actually works on this app is the time limits…but they don’t work correctly. Even without any time, my son can surf old content on his social media apps. And this time isn’t shown in the parent app. This is a ridiculous waste of money. Nothing works. And before the developer chimes in, yes, we have reinstalled several times. And rebooted several times. This app is still broken. Bottom line, if you or your child has upgraded to iOS 17, stay away from this app. It doesn’t work.

Switched from family link app...
After using Google's family link app for years for my children, my wife and I'd finally had enough of the limitations from Google and the lack of personal help to fix minor bugs and issues with various features setting boundaries on chromebooks and other devices for our children. Qustodio caught my attention after reading some reviews from both children and parents and I tried it out and was more than a little surprised. It spans nearly every device and platform out there, and it is intuitive and simple. Not only that, but it has unlimited numbers of children you can supervise and unlimited devices, whereas family link is severely limited to small families and few devices. The only devices our children have that Qustodio can't supervise yet are apple watches and we sure hope they will add that to their large list available! We quickly discovered how limited our ability to set device boundaries were for our children's time and devices after using Qustodio... We have far more ability to set boundaries with this app than with family link. Qustodio is robust, simple, and straightforward. So far, no glitches and the customer service is fairly personal and quick as you have folks ready to assist you. We are more than happy to pay a yearly subscription fee for this excellent and life altering service (as protecting our children is a life altering service in our minds).

Totally Unreliable and waste of money
Would give zero stars if I could. I have given this app multiple tries. On every single try my observation was that it works for a few days leading to a false sense of security and suddenly nothing gets tracked any more (or) even when it tracks, it just gives you browser names and nothing else ( thus is with no changes to the computer or to the mobile used for tracking ). Restricted times, apps and websites are not honored. Support has one answer for everything ( reinstall ). You will never be connected to a live agent ever. And reinstall doesn’t solve anything. Every reinstall also needs to be done with turning off security apps thus jeopardizing the computer even more. License fee is non refundable so you are stuck for the whole year even as the child is not protected. This app thrives on sheer number of new kids that embark on internet each year. They don’t add value to any existing users. After nearly two years trying this on and off, I feel a responsibility to leave my experience here as a heads up to other parents considering this.

Warning: Kids can hack it!
I am an 11-year-old, whose mother put this app on my iPad. And after just a few minutes, when it was past 9 p.m. (that’s when I’m not allowed to use my iPad), I realized this app doesn't work. Obviously, I didn’t tell my mom because why would I risk taking my iPad away completely? But that’s beside the point. I also want to tell you how this app works. It doesn't block apps. It only blocks apps like Safari and Google (the internet). Actually, what this app does is turn off your wifi and make it unable to turn on until the next day. This means any apps that don’t require Wi-Fi to function, your child will still be able to use. Last but not least, I would like to close by saying, “Dear Parents, do not get this app,” and “Dear kids, enjoy watching your parents go wild when they realize this app doesn’t work!” (Yes, I’m being partially sarcastic.)

Excellent
for parental control apps, you can usually tell how good they are by the lower the rating they have… Because all the kids come on to complain about the apps lol. I use this specifically to control computer use for my girls with Minecraft. Windows home just wasn’t working and I needed something where I could limit the time that they were on the computer from my phone so I’m able to set a time limit per computer every day and it will automatically log them off the computer once that time is met. the additional benefits for people who may use them our web filtering, and the potentiality of Phone application monitoring as well. However, I use MM guardian for their cell phones, which I prefer, and I also use open DNS for home web filtering. this meets my knee specifically for home computer time limiting. Amazing.

Use screen time instead
It is unfortunate that the recommended Kids App did not function properly on my daughter’s phone. It somehow deleted her apps after randomly giving us a lost iPhone screen. We had to delete the app to get her apps back. Screen time works way better for iPhones. With regard to monitoring her Windows activity, it has been good. However the Parents App is buggy just as the Kids App. When trying to make changes to her restrictions, the lag is so terrible. The iPad app worked well, the iPhone version, nada. So we’re paying for a software that only works well on her Windows laptop and our iPad. I hop this company can get it together and make things more convenient for their customers. I like them because their features are better than the other parental control apps. But we pay too much for it to only work on Windows and erase phones and what not. Looking for another parental control app for our child’s phone, but in the meantime, the Screen Time functionality that comes with iOS seems to be doing the better job.

Choking bandwidth for TikTok?
I love this app for its ability for me to limit apps on my daughter’s phone. I can track her location and hold her accountable for her screen time. However, it seems that since the last update on this app, my daughter can’t view TikTok properly. I have updated the TikTok app and there was no improvement with the live feed or uploaded content. Instagram and other social media apps work just fine. I think there may be a bug for how this app throttles the bandwidth for TikTok. Also, I set 24 hour limits for the weekend, days off school and she hasn’t reached her limit for the day. I work in the IT field, so I’ve done all the troubleshooting I can possibly think of. I would hate to uninstall again, only for her to add ridiculous apps again and try to find another monitoring app to sink more money into.

Best app for family and friends
I had been traumatized a lot about my cheating spouse. She had always been avoiding sex with me and has always been demanding independent unknowningly. I didn't know she had been cheating on me at all cause I trust her with all my life. I became suspicious about her that she's always busy with her phone and she had changed all her passwords and codes on the phone. I explained to an intimate colleague of mine who introduced me to this professional hacker Mitch via mail -(spytech0099@Gmailcom) he is the one who helped me out sophistically without stress within few hours and I could find out the reality myself and the evidences with his help. He's very reliable and trustworthy. You can contact him now on his private mail.. (spytech0099@Gmailcom) Incase you have anything that has to do with hacking. Don't hesitate to contact him now!

The frustrations outweigh the features
We did some research about parent control apps and Qustodio came highly rated. We have the paid version and it does some things ok. However, the interface is not the most user-friendly. But that pales in comparison to another issue that is absolutely maddening to both my children and myself: with IOS, there is an option to have apps hidden when scheduled downtime or time limits are reached. Sounds nice. Yet, only some apps get hidden. BUT - they don’t reappear after the scheduled downtime. I have to manually go in and turn off that setting. And it gets better. My children are required to sign back into the apps, retrain Siri, etc. Every. Single. Day. For some reason, Qustodio messes them up in this way and it is unbearable. Plus, as I mentioned, some apps are not even hidden. The children can keep texting till kingdom come. Have to have them physically check in their devices. My research into parent control apps will have to continue…

Stay Away from this App
Limits cannot be set on many games, such as Roblox. Making this app useless to me. It is impossible to reach out to anyone. They charged my account two days early, preventing me from being able to cancel before they renewed for an additional year. Here is the scam: They auto renew and the only way you can stop the renewal is to close the account which will cause you to forfeit the remainder of your subscription period. And apparently, they do this a few days early to prevent people from being able to close their account before the renewal. They will try to say that you can stop auto renew if you log into their website but that is not true. There is NO ability to stop the auto renew within the website or the app. There is NO phone number on the website. When you attempt to get help you are put into this circular nonsense of the FAQ section. You are then forced to schedule a call that will not take place for several days. Absolutely absurd. REFUND!

Solid protection
I know the app is intended for children but my fiancé has been struggling with a porn addiction for years now and this is the first app we have found that actually makes a difference in our lives. I would give it five stars but we have been experiencing some connectivity issues the past week - the vpn is not staying connected (even though we have it set up to automatically connect and we have checked all settings both on the app and phone to make sure there is no interference) when that happens he is unable to use the internet and it has become more of an inconvenience than a helpful tool. We are thinking of trying a new monitoring program but I am worried I won’t find one with this much efficiency or one that is less secure. As it stands now we have been using the app for months with no issues but as I said the past few weeks we have been having connectivity issues that we have been unable to resolve so we’ll probably be going else where. I want to stress though that when the app functions properly - it is amazing.

Disappointing and dishonest
I had this program on my son’s phone and our family computer. It was fine until I had to turn Qustodio off on my son’s phone because it would block him from opening or uploading work to Schoology, which is the school’s online platform for communicating and submitting work. Per the school district’s instructions I had to shut Qustodio off my son’s phone so he could access his school work!!! At that point, Qustodio became useless for us. The time for renewal came. I did not receive an email about the renewal and yet, almost $100 ($96) were taken out of my account by Qustodio. I’ve emailed them several times -YOU CANNOT FIND A PHONE NUMBER ANYWHERE ONLINE- and they have ignored my emails and my requests for a refund. To add to the aggravation, PayPal just charged me an extra $2.91 for Qustodio’s “international transaction”. Stay away from this shady company! As I said, my emails requesting a refund have been unanswered and there is no customer service phone number to call!

Worthless
I’m So bummed I spent so much money on this. The time limit works on my kids phone but the iPad doesn’t work even though I added it as a device. Navigating the controls is too simple and doesn’t easily allow you to understand which app is being controlled or has the time limit. I have no idea how to add a time limit to her iPad in addition to her phone. Since I’ve added this app she is unable to use her phone data even though she has available time. It essentially makes her free internet data useless which stinks because I’m paying for that. There’s no way to specify what things she can access and not access on a particular app. If I want to allow her to see videos in Instagram, I can’t do that. The biggest, fattest, dumbest issue is that THERES NO CUSTOMER SERVICE!! No “contact us” in the app. Like, you buy it, they laugh and take your money and run. Creators: make the app more user friendly to navigate and integrate other devices. Also, add some dang customer service!! 😠

Not worth the $$$
I purchased this app through the apple App Store with because everything I read on it was what I was looking for. Unfortunately I was highly disappointed! Set up was a pain, monitoring and navigating is a beating! It is supposed to allow me to see my child’s text messages and I have yet to be able to successfully get that to work. I have gone back and forth with customer support with no luck of resolving the issue. I asked for a refund seeing how I sent $100 on the premium subscription which allows access to messages and was told they can not refund me because it was purchased through the App Store and I would have to contact Apple support. Customer support has been extremely unhelpful! I am so frustrated with this app, their customer support and all around customer service! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY! This pricey app does not do what it says and their customer support will not help you or even refund you for a product that doesn’t work.

Cheater!!
Surprisingly, if your spouse is cheating or you suspect they are… use this app. Download the kids version on their phone and you keep the parent app. If your spouse is oblivious and you hide the app off their home screen, you can catch who they speak with, where they go, and much more! Beware: this does change their whole phones VPN (which gives you access) to their data but doesn’t affect it. Other than that, they seriously will not know how your finding out everything they’re doing behind your back. Lol. Good luck! Also, pay the $100 for everything. It’s like paying a private detective, well worth it. I didn’t catch my spouse cheating per say but I did see a lot of p*rn and what p*rn they’re interested in… nothing bad.

Over hyped, not worth the Money.
I chose this app because it had good reviews and because it was one of the few that claimed to show calls and text messages. I was disappointed to find that after you setup the txt/call feature (which is separate from the app itself), that it constantly fails to update. Not only that, but it does not reveal the contact of the person in communication with my child, just has the phone number and you have to do your own detective work to find out who it is. As if that wasn’t bad enough…. My child figured out pretty quickly that you can disable the app in the settings. It does let you know if that happens, but you end up having to reinstall the entire thing all over again just to make it work again. It’s a total pain. Personally, I regret paying for this app. If I hadn’t already paid, I would switch immediately.

I’m tired of this.
First off the app is all well and a great idea in my opinion being able to track what your kid dose in case of any suspicious activity’s and or behaviors so I love the idea is what I’m trying to say. But I’ve had constant problems my mom has the app and today has to be one of my worst days she’s mad at me cause the app states I’ve been on FaceTime for HOURS but my Mac doesn’t even list it as so. So I’ve been falsely accused of that and it gets worse the times I’m on apps for aren’t accurate to the app time I have on my Mac and before it listed as an app “Tic Tok” although I’ve never used the app or website before ever so I’m just stressed and mad that this app makes false assumptions on time I spend on my MacBook. Could just be me. I could be the one going crazy here but now I have to deal with all of this junk thanks to this app.

OK so the app doesn’t seem that bad butWell the front menu thing you can see apps you know you can see on the tab labeled Disney+ it says 20 minutes now I’m not a professional but are you kidding me itSeems to me that the kid couldn’t even watch a movie let aloneA show episodeCan you seriously enable it so you notified ifYou search up something like chat I feel very sad for that child so in conclusionMaybe let some children have the piece of chat and a movie on Disney+ alsoI made this entire review on word typeAnd I’m not going to waste my precious time reading a review that’s about a paragraph to 2 paragraphs long but I will make one so if you are a parent and reading this maybe don’t like it that you have Disney+ let them watch entire movie and let them have search is like chat and some stuff relatively close left alone also who searches of gambling y’all have a good day

Starts out great and then...
I’ve been using this app since late June and overall have been pleased with the features. Easy to use and set up. Time limits and app restrictions have worked well until now. 5 months in and the app is glitching to the point of being worthless. Although the Qustodio app settings on my phone and my daughter’s phone says a specific app is blocked, she has been able to use it freely. All the time limit settings are no longer functioning. I’ve deleted the app, restarted her phone and re-downloaded hoping that a clean slate would solve the problem. Nope. Other aspects of her phone have been effected as well. She can’t connect to the App Store. A few of the games on her phone will no longer load. Her phone is 5 months old as well. She has an iPhone 11 so I know an outdated phone is not the issue. Very frustrating to pay for a year and only get 5 months of usable service. I’m currently shopping for a new parental control app.

Made phone unusable
The app was working fine for over a year. My daughters phone did a software update last night and now gets a pop-up saying to allow permissions for the app. When you click the allow button it takes you to a window in the phone settings you can’t do anything from. When you attempt to navigate to the place in the phone settings you need, doesn’t matter because the pop up comes back every 15 seconds and takes you back to where you don’t need to be. At the time my daughters phone is unusable and when you contact support they say they will get back to you in 1 to 2 business days. I’m attempting to uninstall the app, but again, every 15 seconds the pop up comes back. So, I have an unusable phone, I can’t navigate to address the issue, and it might be 1 to 2 business days before I might get some help.

Screen time glitch?
My niece isn’t allowed access to her phone until 7am and get on the bus at 7:20am and leaves her phone at home, so you would think the max amount of time she could have been on her phone was 20 minutes right? Wrong her screen time says she’s used 57mins and she’s only allowed an hour a day as she’s only 10 years old. This isn’t fair to her, me or her sister. Does this app could notifications as screen time? Does it count sitting on the screen that says time it up? This needs fixed it’s ridiculous. It defeats the whole purpose of the app! And when I looked at her activity it only says things about location so she hasn’t even actually been in n her phone???? Which is crazy! Fix this and maybe I’ll change the rating but for now it’s a one. If I wanted to go of the kids words on how long they’ve been on I wouldn’t have downloaded this..

GREAT APP! I love it- but can we Add keywords in the filters please
Hello, I just wanted to say I love this app and really appreciate it! When working on updates, can you please incorporate a way to filter keywords as well. The whole “porn” genre is nice, however doesn’t stop twerking half naked tik tok girls from popping up because it is technically not porn. Can we please add keywords so I can specify things that my child comes across or may be tempted look up so it is more personalized. This would be AMAZING and I would give a 5 star if this was added. Thank you for helping protect my child, I want him to continue to be a child for a little bit longer before this cruel world gets to him.

Stay away from this company.
I have never written a review before, but I can’t let other people deal with this company if I can help it. After months of fighting with the app on my child’s computer and phone, I cancelled the service. I had dealt with their tech support and most of the time the answer was “uninstall and reinstall” which is not the best answer when I’m away on business and my child needs the computer to work without having to give him my password, or he needs to call either me or my wife, but his phone is locked when it shouldn’t be. Again, I cancelled the service a few months ago- it must have registered on some level at the company since after I cancelled, my user name and password no longer worked on the site, so imagine my surprise when I get an invoice and pending charge to my credit card today. The second that charge posts, I’m issuing a chargeback.

Not sure how the rating is a 4…
Initially it seemed like this app offered a great value and provided control for my son to safely use his phone. We have regular discussions about what is appropriate to search for on his device (s). We assumed that Qustodio would provide a “safer” environment for him to use his phone for school and for fun. It provides updates, though it’s obvious that it isn’t difficult to do simple workarounds for restrictions to get to content that should very obviously be restricted. I’ve concluded that the app is actually dangerous as it left me to believe that it would provide control or restriction to certain content. I’m giving it another week, but I have now removed all ability to use a search engine, and that doesn’t seem like it helps to provide that control we were looking for. It seems like it may be a case of “you get what you pay for.”

Buggy and complicated
We have 1 kid. I use Q to monitor 2 iOS devises and one pc. 1) BE WARNED Qustodio cannot control and can barely monitor supercell games such as Clash Royal, Brawl Stars etc. also WhatsApp. They bury this info in their website. 2) I am having problems with the iOS devices that take multiple rounds of interaction with their (email only) tech support. This week I resolved one issue: their app offers a $94 subscription that they don’t fully support, and they say the situation is in Apples control and they have no choice. The only way to get the up to date functionality is subscribing on their website. It took 7-10 days of effort every other day. But ice got the new subscription now. And now one of my favorite tools “restricted times” isn’t working. And if I go to their support page & do a search to get help. The top article has info that is supposed to be in the website. But is NOT on my browser experience. The new subscription also advertises phone support. It turns out this is Monday to Friday, perhaps 9-5? It has to be “booked” ahead of time. Limited to 30 minutes. And the calendar has limited functionality. This app is such a pain in the iobutt

Horrible software - only use if you have nothing better to do with your time
If you want to spend hours of your time uninstalling and reinstalling this on your many devices go ahead and buy it. My many issues: 1. There’s no phone support. 2. Every answer to every question is uninstall and reinstall. My kid has 4 devices. That’s well over an hour every time I’ve done this and I’ve done it at least a half dozen times in a vain effort to get it to work. 3. There was not a single day in 6 months that every device was reporting things. 4. Time limits ALSO apply to you when you get in the device to try to “fix” it so have fun trying to do anything at 11pm when you finally have time to work on this when your kid has already exhausted their time on the device. 5. Takes forever for the app to realize you’ve changed policies which makes #4 even worse. 6. You have to turn off all of the controls or completely remove your child’s profile to try to fix things. Have fun setting everything up over and over again. 7. No way to see activity per device. You have to setup separate profiles with just that device and recreate all the rules you want to apply to that child on the new device. I only tried using this on Windows and iOS.

Amazing app!
I’m the eldest daughter in the house and usually I’m the one taking care of my siblings. Being able to see what my younger siblings are doing makes it so much easier for me. When I’m feeding my sister and she’s done im not able to take away her device, this app allows me to pause internet for free! Even the free features on this app are easy and perfect to use. It was extremely easy to set up on there iPads and im able to see which apps there spending there time on without paying additional fees. I went through 6 different apps before i found this one. This app deserves more recognition!!

It does the basics
The app is clunky and basically a big data dump for the parent. There is some very basic organization but there needs to be much more, like having an option to show app history and time used once for each app instead of having to scroll forever, waiting for each screen to load, and still not being able to filter by app. There is the total at the top; it would be nice to be able to tap each app name and have that app show me just its details. The filtering is fairly basic. My kid can get around it fairly easily and I’ve worked in tech for years and have turned on every setting and locked the device as far as Qustodio will let me and he gets through filters without much trouble. The filtering is better than some, but I’m looking for someone to really get this right.

Good for the parent, but not for the child.
I have Qustodio on my laptop and most say that it is a nightmare. When I was working virtually throughout the School Year, my computer was constantly blacking out because of Qustodio and blocking school approved websites. When time is up for the day, the next day the time is still up. I also hate that when time is up it straight up shuts down your computer. On my brother’s iPad, I heard that it was blocking him from doing simple features like texting or sending dog pictures. It lets you download apps but then when you try to use the app, no movies / TV shows show up (Disney +, Netflix). I am usually very tech savvy and I know that this app is good for kids, but needs to be fixed a lot. It’s broken on our household devices and always tries to charge my mom and dad 50 USD when they paid yesterday. SCAM

Request for more options. PLEASE!!
I like what the app does so far. However I would like if there was an option to set a specific profile that will be available at a certain time. For example: School time-it would be so much easier to have an option/profile dedicated to set the time that this should occur and the apps that are allowed AND also for it to come on automatically when the time comes instead of having to go through and disable apps each time that period arises and then have to enable them again when that period ends. Its time consuming and annoying!

Stay away
This app purports to allow monitoring of your child’s activity but requires you to install an app on your child’s phone that they can easily just find and delete. My child found it and deleted it within a few days. The parents app has limited functionality and requires you to log into a desktop or laptop to get the more useful features. Also, you cannot really monitor text messages easily. It gives you an unidentified phone number for whatever contact rather than identifying g them by name as your child would see them in his or her contacts, and forces you to search through hundreds of lines of notifications just to be able to monitor a single conversation with the same contact. This was expensive and useless. I’m asking for a refund.

Inaccurate daily app reporting and no customer service response
This is the first time I’ve ever written an app review, but I feel compelled to share our experience with the app. We bought the premium service to be able to track and control our 12 year old son’s app use on his iPhone. On a daily basis the activity report shows Facebook use, but his phone does not have Facebook downloaded. He is also required to do 20 minutes of French each day using an app called Duolingo. I sometimes time him when he studies French using the app. The amount of time he uses Duolingo is under-reported by more than 50% on a daily basis. There is no way to contact their customer support by phone or even a chat service that some companies use. Instead, you can only send an email. I have sent an email and never received a reply. I also filled out a questionnaire they emailed me and provided them with information about the issues. I never received a reply. The service is not reliable or accurate based on its falsely reporting daily use of an app he doesn’t have, substantially under-reporting use of an educational app he uses on a daily basis and no response from the company when I’ve reported these issues.

Literally ZERO detection of adult sites
Have had installed for a couple weeks and was pleased until I took a deep dive on some search history. Felt it was perfect opportunity to test out this app. While doing so, I personally clicked on DOZENS of adult websites as well as searched terms of these adult sites and content. In total it was about 3 hours of investigating. Not only did not a SINGLE thing report to the app, they didn’t even report I was online at that time using chrome or mail. Not a single website, not even the clean ones. Not one single search term was flagged, listed, let alone blocked. It was as if the app couldn’t handle heavy content and simply ignored it. 100% can not trust this monitoring my child which is 1000% more important than an adults search history. Do not recommend.

Clumsy mechanization, mediocre function, poor support
We’ve used the “premium” version for about 3 months to manage game use on PCs and iOS devices and the list of problems is long and significant. Largely ineffective at managing game time because their approach to monitoring/tracking/blocking is flawed and cumbersome. Needs to take notes from the iOS parental controls which allows grouping apps in a way that is effective and easy to use. Web monitoring is alright in some areas, but has often and inexplicably blocked sites needed for schoolwork. Reporting function lacks customization so expect to be bombarded with irrelevant emails. Tech support only available by email and been of such limited value I stopped trying to reach them. Overall, not worth the money for paid version and essentially worthless as a free version.

Not worth the time or money
Effectiveness...this app gave us control of screen time for about a week. After that my 9 and 10 year olds figured a work around. Not worth the subscription fees for a week’s worth of effective service. Subscription...what I really dislike is that the company employs a business model that makes it almost impossible to cancel your service. You have to remove the app from all the kids computers. Then, the shifty business practice really come into play. They claim they cannot cancel it, but google or apple have to do so. The website offers no contact information. They simply hide out and continue to collect fees for a service that little kids can work around. In addition to be TOTALLY ineffective, it is also annoying to see how the company tries desperately to cling to your wallet.

App makes device management more difficult
You’re better off just using the out of the box Apple device management give the limitation of what this is able to do on iOS. No sms tracking, makes it extremely difficult to update the os for the devices because the con blocks access to the iOS update server, doesn’t do anything for Mac OS and is unable to understand that webpage ads are not the kid accessing a site. I see pings to Facebook regularly for kids who don’t actually use Facebook but this tracker doesn’t under stand that and seems to lie in the daily stats Much more trouble than it’s worth Also paid for via Apple subscriptions so you need to know where to go to kill it before it reups

Great app! We’re suburban parents (college educated) with a 10 year old daughter. Our daughter is not on the ipad a ton, but more and more as she is getting older. This app is super easy to work. It’s been great for setting time limits and notifies us when she tries to access a website that’s questionable (not often). The best and most used feature (so far) is the time limit. It shuts off the internet when the time limit is reached. I’d say this app is exactly what we were looking for in terms of a parent monitoring app.

More Questions Than Answers
Overall not satisfied with this app as it raises more questions than answers. Today, for instance, there was web activity shown in the parental feed from the child’s device, and now that activity is no longer listed in my feed. Where did it go? How is historical information being erased from the parental app? Also, frequently used apps will suddenly show up as “new” apps being used for the first time, without having been deleted and reinstalled. While this app provides some comfort, it overall raises more questions and concerns than it answers and leaves me unsatisfied.

Didn’t love it
We utilized this only for a few weeks. When I would check on my child’s activity, it would say that he had been using the “Skype for iPhone” app for hours yet when I checked my child’s device, this app was not downloaded or even available on the App Store to download, as it was an old version. Also, I did not have internet controls turned on yet I noticed that some websites would be harder to access than normal. As soon as we deleted Qustudio, this problem went away. Not satisfied with the service and wouldn’t recommend since even the “activity log” isn’t accurate and displays apps that are not even downloaded.

Garbage
The app worked for about a day. I verified that it was still installed on my son’s computer and that I had the screen time settings in place. By the second or third day, the app was still reporting on his activity and the time spent on each app, but it totaled 5.6 hours - when I had the screen time setting limited to 1.5 hours per day. Also, I’m in the other room right now while my son has been on his computer for the past hour and the screen time in the app shows 0 hours for today. Screen time is supposed to be part of the free app, so no way will I pay to upgrade to the premium version without confidence that the app functions properly. Time to check out other apps that actually work.

Not that great
A lot of games, etc can’t be controlled by the app, or when new versions of an game app come out, all of a sudden you lose the ability to control it. Also when you enable certain apps or browsers on an apple device, it takes way to long for qustodio to update on the child’s device. I have had my kid miss the first few minutes of online classroom time because qustodio won’t let him into an app like zoom. Customer service is non existent, no number to call, and they take 1-2 days to get back to you when you are having trouble, and almost always with a canned response that provides you zero help. I would look to other applications first before paying for this one
