This app functions, it does the things it's supposed to do, but it could do them better. I usually have issues with it being slow, I feel like it takes around 30 seconds to complete a transfer after pressing submit. Also, it wastes screen space when looking at an account detail screen. Each transaction takes up more screen space than it should, and it only loads five at a time. I use my debit card for everything, sometimes I have more transactions than that in a single day. If I need to look through a large number of transactions, I usually skip the app and load the desktop version of Red Canoe's website instead.
This app is the worst. It’s like only one person developed this and they work out of his/her parents basement circa 2008. It’s slow, doesn’t have a lot of the modern functions (the ones it does have seldom work), only allows some types of transfers due to it being outdated, it crashes/freezes often, and most banking functions take forever to verify. Very few updates, or consideration for customer complaints and urged updates. You can’t even transfer to another Red Canoe member using the app... smh. I’m a hobbiest web developer and programmer and I’m pretty sure I could build a better working, more modern app than this. If I were Red Canoe’s administration I’d contract new developers, cause this is just sad. I have 5 or 6 banking apps, this by far is the worst made and functioning.
I do like this app a lot. It has treated me well during my 7-10 years of banking here, and I have seen a lot of improvement in it. I love all the new features and improvements they’ve rolled out over the years. Only thing I would say is that sometimes the app does tend to be a little slow, but I don’t mind waiting for it to load sometimes. It’s not as slow/bad as people here seem to make it out to be.
I was able to get Touch ID working my again. I had to delete the app restart my phone and reinstall. Then when I logged in and reregistered it gave me the option to turn on Touch ID. Weirdly before I did the delete and reinstall it had the login name on one page then went to a different page with the password and even though I had deregistered my device it never gave me the option to register it again. On another note, how come we don’t have Apple Pay yet? It’s almost 2018.
Not sure why all the negative reviews as it has always Worked flawlessly for me. Love the quick balance feature! Works with new face Recognition which makes it even easier.
This latest app update is terrible!! It rarely works! Ever since this latest update it is rarely functional. I have deleted and reloaded it multiple times. It will work a couple times then cease working. We depend on the app because we live in the Midwest now and have limited branches. Come on Red Canoe! Get it right. I have called and asked your service center and they have even tried their own app and it doesn’t work for them either!! Wow. Very disappointing!
The slowness of this app is frustrating. It’s also as bad as their website. It doesn’t show current transactions. You can make a payment and be current but it still shows you payment as being due. They need to work on their tech group or give them a better budget. Switched my checking to Chase because of this.
I haven’t been able to see my balance on my app for the last 3 days. It gets stuck and won’t go passed the loading screen so I can’t even see how much I have in my account when I need to pay bills. I’ve even tried deleting and reinstalling the app and even restarting my phone and nothing
Used to love this app, back when i had an iPhone 6. But now sporting the iPhone X, the UX looks extremely outdated and almost unusable. No Face-ID support either. Sadly no improvements have been made in over a year. Hopefully the developer/s or tech team reading these reviews care about their mobile user base and update soon. Im even willing to pay for the app if need be.
Every time I open the app it crashes or takes to long to to load. After they updated with the finger print access the app just got worse. I can log in with out using a password or my finger print, not very safe if your phone is stolen or if a random person picks up your phone and starts going thru it.
I recently got an auto loan through RCFCU and I pay 99.9% of my bills online. Whenever I tried to set up my bill pay through this app, I’ve had nothing but problems. So very disappointed in this app. Well I guess it’s time to waste my time and gas to drive 20 miles to the branch to make my monthly payment. Ugh!!!!
HORRIBLE Its 2022 banking apps arent rocket science..
This app is terrible, never saves or registers me despite registering my device multiple times.. Figure it out red canoe and hire a better app developer, this is garbage and its 2022. Mobile banking is a necessity and its not rocket science to have a good consistent app, plenty other credit unions do.
Nothing works on this app. All if the standard force-stop/restart, re-install, use different signals and networks accomplish absolutely nothing. Here’s the constant, consistent, message the app delivers: Unable to connect to the server. Please try the following. Make sure that you have a internet connection. Make sure that your firewall is not blocking the connection to the server. Make sure the VPN settings on the device is not enabled. Force close the app on the device and open it again.
I would hesitate to recommend this app. On a number of occasions the app will accept a deposit only to have them reverse the deposit days later because “the check is unreadable”. Don’t accept to begin with.
Every Sunday my account balances jump to a ridiculous balance. And all transactions are not visible in app. Balances are all over the place. Very in accurate.
This app is the slow, lacks a lot of features worst banking app I’ve ever used. It’s so outdated, doesn’t support Apple Pay. This is just too say the least. Please get a better tech team Red Canoe.
This versions layout is slow and crashes because they tried to fit so many functions in a single screen. I liked the previous layout. Uncomplicated. Plus, there's no bill pay! You have to visit the full website to make payments which is a hassle. Please fix!!!!!
Works alright. I like it more than the old one. People just need to learn how to use it before complaining about it. It does lag a bit but still works.
Upon being forced to install this app and delete the previous app all it does is close if you try to login, or use "Contact Us". The only button that seems to work is the link for locations that just opens a URL in safari. This app does not work!
The app will not save my information so that I can use Face ID. It won’t even save just my username either, I’ve contacted the IT department as well and nothing changed. The app is fine if I can get it to work but I give up and use my computer the majority of the time, which defeats the purpose of having the app. I’ve updated everything and still no luck.
Before the change, this app worked perfectly. Now I can't stand it. It's always crashing. Super slow and hardly ever loads. Why fix something when nothing was wrong with it in the first place....
This app does not make sense! I opened it and instantly didn't like it! If i wanted to get on a webpage I would! The point of an app is ease and accessibility!
I had found out recently that the credit unions automated banking system, or the 1-800 # you could call to check your balance, would no longer be in existence. To be able to check your balance after hours, you had to download this app. Now although the app is useful, it was forced to be used for my situation. Knock a star off for that. Now add in the fact that the app is constantly freezing up and I must close out the app and start all over by putting my username and password in again and hope it doesn't freeze up again. Sometimes it freezes again, so third time is not always the charm. I was happy with calling the automated system. At least it always worked and I got the info I needed in a timely fashion. This has way too many bugs to be forced as a download to do any banking after hours! Im dismayed. Knock off a couple more stars for that. And the setup to get the app functioning is beyond confusing and lengthy. I really wish I could dump this app and go back to the way that worked and was really convenient. Knock off a star for that.i can't even hit the like button in the App Store. Which I think is why there's no average in ratings yet.
