Thoroughly discussed !! All last year we didn’t have these services and I remember calling and talking with and associate about the problem, they told that there contracts where up and they where trying renegotiate and or find a new provider,, while it’s almost boating season again for us here in Eastern NC ,, we have a new app and new explanation- we Want have those services Anymore, they say that they are focusing on what they do best locating Us ! to provide services,,, Which first and foremost!! But one of the biggest reasons I joined Sea tow was the app ,, I have enough app’s on my phone as it is. !!! Guest it’s time to check out the other guys !! They seem to want my business,, I get emails all the time from them , they have a Better App Pirates at Cape Lookout
I had SeaTow including the SeaTow app in 2019 and had no issues also loved all the features of the app. I was having problems renewing my membership after their obvious changes for this year and finally got it all started back up as I have a new boat now and can only say the current app is a joke nothing compared to the previous app and the website is a joke as well as it is nothing but trying to sell you membership even if you already have membership. I have previously had BoatsUS and used them without issue and will likely switch back if SeaTow doesn’t figure out their app and online process.
I’ve been a Seatow member now for 6 years. I liked the app better the way it was before with weather and tide data like many others have stated. I also had a tough time trying to cancel my renewing membership. Everything was much better prior to this app refresh. Please listen to your customer base!! The new features are nice, just incorporate them into the old app and “poof” you have a happy customer base and a refreshed app!! Problem solved!
I like that you can text my buddy my exact location in Lat-Lon plus my position shows up on a map. With so many boats in certain anchorages they can find me every time. I also like that you can call for assistance directly from the app and you know your exact location. I use my Navionics app for the current & tides so I don’t miss them on this app.
Although I miss the old features such as weather and tides, the app still is very useful and easier to use now. They compensated for the withdraw of the other features by putting their recommended apps for the features on their website which was a great idea
I greatly miss the weather and tide functions. I considered those functions primary, as I would use them to determine whether it was a good day to head down to the marina for a day sail....The developers responses in the review threads below state that we users do not want these features. The app developer is clearly delusional & out of touch with what Sea Tow clients truly value in an app. Note to developer, having all 1 or 2 star reviews should tell you something about what a complete failure your app has become...
I sold my old boat a few years ago and just purchased a new one. I purchased sea tow again expecting to app to have all of the old features (mainly weather and tide data) and keep getting kicked out. If I would have known the new app was missing these features I would have signed up with someone else.
Longtime Sea Tow member. Went on the app today and was a bit confused at first because it basically has no features anymore. I thought I was just on some sea tow website page by accident. Nope! Why why why would you wreck an app like this?? PLEASE create a fully functioning real app again and soon.
I haven’t used it in a few years and it was showing my membership was expired, which it was not. So I deleted it and added it back. The new version removed the tide and weather info and has nothing useful at all. Not even account info. What is the point?
Looked at the app today for the first time in a while for a radio check . It told me my membership had expired. It has not. I called SeaTow and was told to delete the old and download the new. Wish I hadn’t done that. The old app was useful except for the wrong membership information. The new one has no useful function that I’ve found yet
The app is nearly worthless with location data being the only thing useful. The app tells you to go to their website for literally everything else. Why even have an app then??? Probably the worst non-game app I have ever seen from a company.
I am in total agreement with everyone who thinks the new app is a joke. I liked having my Sea Tow membership card on my phone and all of the other features the old app had. Updating an app is not always a good thing and this app proves it. Sea Tow should go back to the old format!!!
The new app is horrible, no function what so ever, might as well just have the phone number in your phone and call when needed. Miss the charts and wether function and now we have no VHF radio check in my area. Next year going to try the competition
I’m honestly concerned about the viability of Seatow. The earlier app had promise but this is a joke. Not investing as the new gen of boaters that need you the most, it’s concerning. BoatUS will cover my local tow if needed and native to the other area where i boat. For the first time, I’m considering other options. (Yes, they exist).
What used to be a decent, worthwhile app, is now just a link to the SeaTow website. It serves almost no purpose, and is not worth downloading. Might as well just put a link on your phone for SeaTow and call it a day. I want to give it no stars, but unfortunately, there’s no option for that.

What the heck is wrong with seatow. They remove the apps optional features and take away the account number which is the first thing you need for the call. Really dumb.
Just signed up with Sea-Tow, considering canceling after seeing this app!
This app does not make me feel like their service will be good. I went and signed up BoatU.S. As well after seeing this app as i have no confidence in Sea-Tow if this is my first impression.
The old app was decent, no complaints, this “new” version is absolutely terrible. If anyone is actually listening please look at the comments here, bring back the features of the previous app.
It’s really sad. The old app was actually pretty good but this one is complete garbage. It has no features included and routes you to a web site. That defeats the whole purpose of having an App! This App is crap.
Don’t waste your time downloading this app, it is utterly useless. The prior SeaTow app certainly needed some improvement, but this is absurd and the app is literally worthless. No features, no functionality, and just refers you back to the SeaTow page to handle anything.
As much as I wanted to like this app as I am a customer/member of Sea-Tow my experience has been all negative, cannot link my existing account with my new membership the app continuously asks for member number, expiration date and password after entering all three it brings me right back to the beginning asking me for those three pieces of information so I enter it again and the same thing happens. So I tried deleting the app and reinstalling because I couldn’t find a log out or sign out button, now after reinstalling I don’t even have the option to sign in for an existing member only an option to join. Come on Sea-Tow its 2020 this is trivial stuff that is built into every other app in the app store
What happened to the old app that had weather, speed, position, card & account info, wallet integration, etc.? At a bare minimum the app should have your SeaTow card integrated with Apple Wallet so that you don’t have to carry the card with you all of the time. You had that feature before...why would you ever remove it? It helps simplify your life and doesn’t make the app any more complex. I don’t understand the changes...it doesn’t make sense to make your app less useful.
Just downloaded and it crashed 4 times on me. Then got it to stay running long enough that I realized how unfriendly the main screen is. Where are tides? Where is any other useful information?
What is this!! What happened to the tides and weather. Crashes!! How do I log into my account. Is there something I’m missing? You have created a panic button not a App.
The old app actually did some useful stuff. This one does nothing at all. It just has links to seatow.com. It doesn’t even have a way to logon to your seatow account. Basically you can call or email seatow and share your location. Woop de doo. I’m deleting this app. I hope you didn’t pay a developer much for this.
