Best stay ever
From the time of walking in, to leaving (I’m actually still here), the experience was amazing. So comfortable for the purpose of my stay, so private. Fully stocked loft style apartment, from cookware to something as simple as laundry detergent. My husband was working during our stay so I was able to rest in the bedroom and he had the living room area. The views of the city are good; lots of traffic. I also liked that I could see my car parked. I would suggest a soap dish in the shower (something minor possibly) but because I was recovering from surgery, I couldn’t bend over so that was hard. However, this detail does not effect my rating. Definitely cheaper than staying in a hotel, I think. The area was decent as far as not having to drive everywhere for necessities; you wouldn’t want to lose your paid parking. My husband walked to and from the grocery store, got take out minimally because we stocked up and cooked some great meals; baskin robins was near. I don’t think he walked longer than 4 minutes. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I’ve already recommended this place to a friend who booked her stay for January and my mom is booking her stay for the near future as well. Thanks for the hospitality.

Perfect! I have already went ahead and wrote my review just wanted you to read it. "I recently had the pleasure of interacting with John, a representative at Sonders, and I have to say, he is a true gem. Although the hotel operates virtually with no front desk, I never felt like I was missing out on anything thanks to John's quick and responsive service. He was always available by text and he was incredibly fast in answering any questions or concerns I had. John went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed during my stay. He was knowledgeable, friendly and always available to assist me. I was thoroughly impressed by his dedication to providing excellent customer service, and he made the entire process of booking and staying at a Sonders hotel a breeze. I highly recommend Sonders, not only for the top-notch accommodations, but also for the exceptional service provided by John. Sonder Boylston Street
This particular Sonder is very comfy , quiet and clean. The bed is amazingly soft and comfortable and there is no appreciable noise from inside nor outside despite it being located right in the heart of the capital hill district. Location is unbeatable since it is walking distance to shops, bars, restaurants, coffee etc. You can walk to the harbor and market with a little effort it’s about a mile away. The only minor negative is there is no elevator and if your room is on an upper level ( there are 6 floors but the main entrance is on floor 2) it can be a chore especially if you are carrying luggage or parcels. However there is a service elevator available upon request by contacting the staff on duty by phone or text. The number is listed on the lobby hall desk. The rooms do not have laundry nor cooking available although there is a small fridge for storing drinks, milk, yogurt etc or any leftovers from dinner. This facility is best suited to short stays of several days and would probably not work as well for longer like a week or more.. I would definitely stay here again next visit to Seattle.

Amazing with refunds
I booked a stay with Sonder and after I paid for everything and checked out, I totally forgot about the $50 promo discount that I had. So I asked Sonder if is there any way I could apply it even though I already paid for the stay and someone got back to me within 10 minutes and they asked for a picture of my discount that I had and I sent it to them and they literally did it instantly and I got the refund back. They’ve answered all my questions about their handicap accessibility, and I had no issues and was still able to enjoy myself. Everything has been smooth sailing and this is my second time in a completely different city. They are across the board, the definition of good customer service. As long as they have a Place available in any city or country that I plan to visit, there may go to choice from now on.

Dirty Linens; overall ok
We were quite pleased with our stay in Battery Park. The price was affordable and we got a whole modern, fully equipped studio to ourselves. But once we had been there for a couple of days we noticed the devil in the details. I can live with most of the weird things of the space, but the biggest thing was the cleanliness of the towels and bed linen. Some of the towels were badly stained. It looked like they were washed, but not with bleach or anything that would take the stains out. Though it wouldn’t be a big deal in your own home, it’s gross to see and use towels that were somehow stained by a previous guest. It shows a lack of attention to detail and cheapness. Some of the pillow cases also smelled of sweat or mildew. Not all smelled that way, but it made us feel disgusted and we were wary of the other pillows. We couldn’t wash the linens using the in unit washer/dryer because the dryer wasn’t working, which we found out because we washed some of our clothes and then couldn’t dry them. These mistakes, though seemingly small, make a big difference. Me and my guest both work in hospitality and know how important cleanliness is for guest experience.

Very disappointed in this stay. Requested an early check-in at 1pm, at 12:28pm they told me the apartment would be ready in 30 mins. Never heard from them again and randomly got a “not approved” email about the early check-in at 3:30pm. Sat outside the apartment from 1:00pm to 4:00pm waiting to chec-in, since they told me 30mins at 12:28pm. Then, when we did get in, the place was not clean at all. The shower was so disgusting, and was covered in black mold. The linens were all dirty and inadequate in number of towels. Just what I wanted to do on vacations, laundry. I had to do 4 loads of laundry to clean all the bedding and towels. The street light shines very brightly in the window, you cannot get the place dark as there are no curtains, only some shades. The dishwasher was broken and the door didn’t work. There is a lady down the hall smoking on the roof and she leaves all her cigarette butts in a dead plant inside the hallway, so the hallway absolutely stinks! The roof “patio” is nothing more than several patios with nothing but one 1970’s chair. I was really excited for this brand as I travel a lot for extended period of time, but this first impression was horrible.

I enjoyed the Sonder the ONLY thing i had a problem with (which they couldn’t fix but did accommodate me) was the fact that my apartment faced a parking garage and the light in the bedroom was kinda bright, even through the blinds.. i suggest the sonder put hotel curtains in their rooms for people that like to sleep in pure darkness to get better rest other than that everything was great.. the building was quiet and clean… security was there 24 hours a day and it was a great location and might i add when i called to complain about the light they were very sympathetic oh and someone even dropped off an extra blanket at midnight!! now that’s customer service!

Too much hassle and too much data required.
I’ve been a customer since 2022, and when I tried to book recently, they required an incredible amount of my personal data. My money is green on Hotwire, so why do I need to submit a side to side selfie and front and back of my ID in order to book a room? I was told this was in order to prevent hassle, but this was all hassle. Also, initially I was kicked off the app in the middle of a verifying myself and had to start over. This resulted in two reservations being made. I had to call customer service twice in order to complete the reservation. It ate up my time. How is this not a hassle? Customer service was great and effective each time, but the requirements for a room were exceptional and I’m not sure I will be using this site when I have other options.

Chat Support
There chat support in-app is terrible. Hopefully no one has to use and thankfully, judging from most of the reviews, very few have been forced to experience it. There really is no point of featuring a chat option in-app if the support person on the other end doesn’t know any information. It’s obviously very frustrating, especially when it’s something as essential as a place to sleep, when the support staff simply refer you to website to search for your own answer. No joke I got sent the sonder website link when I asked a question, and this wasn’t even a bot, the actual support person just referred me to the site multiple times. Complete disappointment, it’s interesting to see certain companies become so complacent and ungrateful for business. We’ll see if that’s the case over the next 2 years as recessionary pressures heighten. Good luck Sonder!

Terrific Sonder experience in Detroit!!
I wasn’t familiar with Sonder before this trip but will always look for one from now on when I travel! Great concept - entry to building and room via touchpad key number emailed in advance, so dependent on no one “on the ground”. My studio spacious and totally outfitted with everything needed for a comfortable stay including full kitchen with full size fridge, 6 place settings, pots and pans and full compliment of cooking utensils, big screen TV, dishwasher, clothes washer and dryer and chrome cast to play my music and shows from all my apps on the TV, right from my phone! Couldn’t be happier! And all for a VERY reasonable cost! Thank you Sonder!

Stayed with another couple in a two bedroom two bath on second floor at a very reasonable rate as we booked early. Was able to do so due to great cancellation policy which is most important when one is a senior. Very spacious, very clean. Beds were very comfortable. Living room with one chair and a comfortable sleeper couch could use another chair, as there is plenty of room. Rooftop a great big space with Weber grills. Friendly helpful concierge. Minor details easily fixed - Refrigerator needs to be leveled, unless one paid attention the door stayed open. Do not hesitate to book.

This app’s user experience is pretty bad
This is a perfect example of what happens when the developer chooses some HTML framework to save themselves time instead of writing a native app. This app seems to work ok as long as you don’t ask much of it. I switched away from the app while text chatting with a Sonder employee and when I came back, there was no way to return to the chat. The chat field often ends up partially covered by the keyboard so you can’t see what you’re typing. Dialogs won’t always respond when you click the close widget. One dialog didn’t even have a close widget. You just have to eventually figure out that you need to swipe right to get it to close. Did I mention that we spent an hour and had to talk to three different employees to get our room key? I’d you’re going to have a hotel that is so dependent upon technology (and I’m the founder and CEO of a development tools company so I’m very tech savvy), then it had better be as close to perfect as you can get it. We were lucky that a guest let us in the lobby. The whole experience wasn’t a good way to start, that’s for sure.

BEST PLACE TO STAY FOR DISNEY!!!
I’m in a party of 6 and we were worried if the 3 rooms were small but they were just perfect! There’s a washer and dryer and bathrooms enough for the 6 of us. A kitchen with all the tools that made our life easier. They even have a gym and pool and Publix that is so convenient. It only takes about 15-20 minutes to get to Disney but it’s worth it. They provide everything and have the best customer service I’ve seen. Very friendly and a nice place to add to your list!

Unable to book
I have never even stayed at a sonder. But for some reason they continue to flag me every time I book a stay. They send me an email that I was flagged and they only book with people they are confident won’t violate house rules. They have no way to speak to a representative from the department that handles that issue. You can only “get help” via email. However the last time I responded via email laying out all the facts proving they have no reason to flag me and cancel my upcoming stay they ignored me and never responded. I am the only one of my friend group who cannot book her at the same time of year and I’m wondering if that’s because I am the only one of dark complexion. My other friends who are on the lighter side have no issues what so ever. Do not stay here

Lovely!
My first time using Sonder and I will definitely be using it again (I booked through Booking). Everything is so easy. The apartment is absolutely lovely. The app functions well, and customer service is easy to contact. I’ve been looking for an alternative to Airbnb for a while and this is it. The cost is about 50% of what hotels in the area are (Savannah). There is construction on the road the building is on, but this was made aware to me before finalizing. I will say the walls in this particular location are very thin and I can hear the next unit’s tv like it’s in my own unit, but it isn’t a huge problem.

Feedback
There is no way to provide feedback or report bugs in the app so I’m doing that here. It appears there is a bug where if you try to login using Google with multi factor authentication and you already have an account that’s connected with an email you get a response that says there’s an account already attached to this email which is fine however, if you try to create a new account using Google multi factor authentication then, it just keeps telling you the same thing that there’s already a account associated but it didn’t let me try with my new account

Don’t waste your time
After hours of searching for a hotel to stay. I finally found sonder. I booked the room and PAID for everything. After going through the verification process I was pleased to finally be finished with everything. A couple hours later they send me an email saying that my reservation was canceled and that I was no longer able to stay there. In the email they claimed that I did not meet their standards and that I didn’t meet their safety precautions. They claimed that they did not feel confident I wouldn’t violate their house rules but yet I have never even stayed at one of their hotels before. They give you no explanation and say the decision is final. This is a poor excuse for a “business”

Impressive hotel and app
First time using Sonder and I was surprised by how good it was. I stayed at a new building in midtown Atlanta and you can tell that everything was thought through to give a great end to end experience. The app was easy to use for several things include booking, 0-touch checkin, and even ordering extra things I needed in the room. Will definitely stay again and recommend to friends.

A few more amenities needed
First time staying at the Sonders Seattle. Nothing fancy but clean! Could use a few more hooks especially in the toilet area and a shelf on the wall near window would be handy. Also a laundry area to wash and dry clothes will be extremely useful. Also a small microwave would be nice. A microwave in the lounge area would be great if they don’t want to put one in each room. You can hear the toilet flushing from above the room and the heater is loud when it comes on. Location is great if you like the Capital Hill area with lots of restaurants and bars. It’s good for one person or a couple with small luggage since rooms are small. They are strict to check in time which is 4:00 pm. There’s no elevator so if you have heavy luggage that would be difficult. Parking is a hassle. I recommend using app share rides. All in all, small, clean rooms good for one to two people. Nespresso machine in the room is an excellent feature!!

App not working…
So, I’ve stayed at a few Sonder locations - Philly, D.C. and LA. Only ever had an issue in Philly, the shower wasn’t working the night we arrived, they got maintenance out in the morning to fix the issue. The problem was worse than expected, so they moved us to a better room in the building. Anyway…I’m here right now because I was going to start planning for a trip. And, noticed the only page on the app that’s functioning is the ‘Explore’ page. Stays, Chat and Profile page will not load.

Disappointed Stay In Chicago
While the concept is greatly appreciated: I also wish that they put enough effort in following through with the maintenance of their units as they do their unit designs. Had to vacate the original Sonder unit I booked (broken bed base, cans of paint in unit, loose lightbulb on kitchen shelf and a bag of broken apart door locks above refrigerator cabinet) to another unit outside our desired neighborhood to another Sonder building; only to find that the kitchen sink had a leak, saturating the kitchen floor and wetting any cardboard basics that Sonder provided. They could not relocate us again, could not provide us with an adequate time table to when the issue could be resolved; and could not refund me, when asked for one, in the likely hood of checking out earlier. They did provide Sonder credit to me to use at a different time: which in likelihood I’d rather pass on to someone else who may have a better stay with Sonder then I did.

A mess, poorly run, go through Airbnb
Go with Airbnb or book through Airbnb. Sonder app and support is a mess. Basic confirmation emails or details about listings don’t get sent out even 24 hours before your stay. Support is extremely bad and disorganized. Technology is awful, unreliable, and extremely buggy. Their processes do not protect user privacy & expose user data to security issues. Didn’t realize the first time I booked with them Airbnb was covering up so much slack on Sonder’s end. They also don’t share basic information about your lease with you even after you pay. They set it up to take maximum advantage of customers. They do not treat repeat customers well either.

Great Location
Place was very nice! Location was convenient to everything. There was a trolley across the street in front of the unit; such a great convenience for getting around in the area. The TV setup took some getting used to. Stayed in unit 100; very nicely laid out. Thankful for the earplugs because we definitely needed them! At night, the noise and light levels within the unit were at a high level! Overall, it was a nice stay. Would stay again but would try a different unit.

Security is an issue
The reason I give 1 is that hotel rooms are very small and above all very unsafe. When we were getting ready to sleep in the afternoon, a man opened the door of our room. I said who are you? Then, he closed the door. When I complained to the front desk clerk about this, she didn't believe me. She told me that according to the system, no one had opened the door. I said you could check the surveillance, and they said they would, but I later found out that they didn't have any surveillance. By the time we left, we had never been contacted to solve the problem. I sincerely hope that no one will stay in this hotel again

Not good for group business travel
Tried booking for a colleague and then they canceled after over an hour of uploading both our IDs and credit cards (work card). This is entirely impractical for work groups and central booking paid by the company. We’ll make sure to never book a Sonder property again. Editorial note, they emailed me a link for my colleague to upload his info as the person staying there. Then once he did they canceled. He is black, was that a racist move?? What else is this app and company doing with your ID and a 3-D Face Scan (required for “check-in”)??!! Awful experience!!

My stay at “The Tidewater
My studio was comfortable, clean and had amenities that I did not expect. There was salt and pepper on the countertop, washer and dryer in one. I love it, I enjoyed the view from my room and from the roof top patio. I would absolutely stay here again and I refer anyone who wants a cool moderate place in Philly stay here. The location also was very accessible, with transit, buses and nice area to walk out. Thank you also to the staff.

WOW - FANTASTIC customer service!
Arrived early and we planned to check in at 4pm. However my traveling companion was not well. Even though the app did not allow an early check in, I chatted with customer service and they were able to Make it Happen! We are extremely grateful. And the room is beautiful and so cool! We will always stay at a Sonder property going forward. They are WONDERFUL!!!!!

Great location
To start its in a great location with a close walk to everything in Historical Downtown. The room Is cozy with all the amenities you would need. The way they use the codes to get around the building is nice and makes you feel safe. Honestly my only complaint is lack of insulation between the room walls. You can hear Everything in the room next to you. Luckily there was only two days with someone next to us.

Great customer service
I took a vacation to ATL and didn’t read the reviews until a couple days before. I wouldn’t feel very safe at the place where I was at so I requested a better place and they got that for me with no extra fees. When I got there they told me my room wouldn’t be ready until 4 but managed to get me in at 2:30. Great stay and friendly staff

They have been good to me
I love this place. Easy walk to Penn Station. Near the Flatiron Building. The hotel is small unique and friendly. It always feels like coming come. This place took care of me during the initial height of CoViD, as a nurse they let me stay here for free while I worked. I will never forget their kindness. And every time I come to NYC. This is where you will find me sleeping. Thank you so much!

So far charming
Other than the hipster pretentious LA crowd that seems to now own this property on the weekends bcuz LA is so boring they need to come show off there lack of being nice and humble. The place is great love the vibe other than the yuppies and being and living here in Palm Springs it’s nice to see a great spot like the Sonder come in and take a huge property bring it back to life and give us the money!! Terrible App!!
I am very disappointed at how this app allows their rental homeowners to handle situations. The day of check-in the homeowner decided to cancel my reservation because I was a local resident and because I wrote in the special instructions stating that in wanted to have an intimate birthday with my partner. According to the app there was nothing they could do even though they canceled my reservation less than 5 hours away from check-in. To top it all off I had to wait 10 business in order to get my money back from them. Worse decision of my life! Please don’t waste your time and money.

Do not book with this company. I planned a month in advance and booked a Sonder. They had ALL of my information, the reason for travel, and my money(paid in full.) Everything was set until the day of. I go to look for my check in instructions and there aren’t any. So I reached out asking for them and I was told they would look into it and then within minutes my reservation was cancelled permanently. This was the day of my reservation! Their system is flawed and they absolutely ruined my plans and kept my money for days after as well. Choose elsewhere if you don't want to risk your plans being ruined the day of.

Very disappointing
First of all I had stayed about 2 years ago and it’s location was south of Palm Springs. I had no clue they had changed their location to north Palm Springs where it is super windy. I would never had booked it if I had that info. Then we finally get to our room 107 and we have towels right under the AC : it is leaking and smells like molds. I am absolutely livid about the outcome. Definitely not the standard I had from the location Sonder had . I wish I had some sort of a warning before I booked it for Memorial Day weekend where everything is packed and cannot go somewhere else

Best home away from home experience!
Incredible communication; Well equipped facility and felt safe with regards to covid-19 precautions. A lot of little extra steps taken to make us feel at home. They even surprised my daughter with a birthday package (they knew this was a birthday getaway) Constant communication with accommodating our needs. Can’t wait to use Sonder for future travel needs.

A very poorly planned and executed App
For an organization that seems to pride itself on offering a hip, stress-free experience, my initial encounter with your Sonder property in Boston was anything but that. The check-in experience was awful. I had to wait 1 hour to just get through the front door and access my room (think full bladder). The web app is full of bugs. I don’t think Sonder will be successful with their business model with this poor of planning and execution. Here’s a thought: How about having an actual human being on site to assist people trying to just get through the front door?

no one checked the room…
The furniture in the room was all in the wrong place and no one on the staff bothered to put things back in place. the bed was shoved against the window, the night stands were across the room. The TV and stand were clearly on the wrong wall with a picture hung behind them. I am 5’3 and the bathroom mirror was hung so high i could barley see my whole face. the bathroom had no overhead light in the sink area and was like trying to get dressed in the dark. There was a weird light on the mirror but was not bright enough to see much. No light at all in the location of the clothes rack and floor mirror.

Customer service was amazing. She was very patient. As we were coming to the neighborhood I was a little worried but when I arrived I was very impressed. Instructions were very easy and as I came in I was very happy and pleased with how nice the housekeeping lady was and how cleaned and fresh it was. I will definitely recommend family and friends to come and stay.

Cleverly hide
The place is nice. Security is great but the directions were horrible. Finding the door not easy. Finding parking entrance worse. A sign or two would be great. The room is fantastic. I would prefer some basic cable instead of having to hook my computer up but I can live with that. Over all I took 1 star off for trying to find entrances and not being able to.

2 bedrooms is NOT 2 bedrooms.
Looks fancy but quality is actually bad. Stayed in Chicago 2 bedroom. One of the bedrooms wall is fully open to the kitchen: you have no privacy! you can hear ppl breathing in that bedroom from the rest of the apartment. You can’t sleep in that bedroom if anyone is even walking around in the kitchen. This isn’t advertised anywhere and you can’t tell from the photos which are taken from misleading angles and with dark lighting in the missing wall area. The definition of a bedroom is a room with a window and a closet! this bedroom has a closet and 3.5 walls. Bedding has numerous rips.

Seamless Experience
We’ve stayed in multiple Sonder locations around the world and have never interacted with an actual person one time. Day or night, everything is in the app, including one touch WiFi connectivity (no need to try and remember a password). Sonder app and experience beats other leading hospitality brands 10 to 1.

Refused refund or credit during COVID
Sonder states on their ads and website no questions asked refunds or credits for cancellations during the pandemic. However, when I attempted to cancel my reservation last week for travel to Dallas, which was cancelled due to the travel ban put in place due to COVID pandemic, I was refused any kind of credit or refund. I called customer support - the girl would only read off a general script, the same script, every time I asked a question. First time I used Sonder and the last. I never write reviews especially negative ones, but when I saw them falsely advertising I had to say something.

We had an issue with our room and Shannon with customer service was extremely accommodating and helped us. The team is very responsive and wants to make sure their guests enjoy their stay. I definitely recommend Sonder and look forward to staying with them again in Savannah and other places!

Non existent customer service
My experience with Sonder has been plagued by issues: -broken furniture -noisy neighbors w/ no enforcement -malfunctioning light fixtures -dead power outlets -repeated early morning fire alarm tests -and most infuriating- glacially slow WiFi. I’ve contacted the customer service chat robot on all of these. About 50% of the time you’ll connect with a human. But even when that happens, they are offsite and couldn’t care less about your issues. I was promised calls that never came and ultimately only one issue was actually fixed. The WiFi issue is especially severe. I don’t understand how a modern housing complex in the NYC financial district can have WiFi speeds that are reminiscent of dial-up. So much for being a tech enabled company. I’ve had to use my cell phone hotspot to get by on zoom meetings. I have a 3 wk booking but unless the WiFi is fixed tomorrow, I’ll have to move elsewhere. Will never be back.

Easy to do the right thing but won’t
Booked a unit for a concert that changed the date a few days before. I see the unit is still available on the new date, the day before. So I ask if we can just make the reservation the for the day before, but they declined. So now I just wasted a bunch of money on a unit I can no longer use. I could understand if the unit was booked for the new date, but it’s available. There is an easy solution for everyone here, but they’d rather just have my money. First and last time using Sonder.

Exceeded expectations
I stayed at the Sonder in West Vancouver. It was beautifully furnished and clean. But I was blown away by the kitchenette. It was fully stocked! Dish soap, sponges, plates, utensils, coffee, tea. They anticipated everything I needed and provided it with the room. Thank you so much Sonder! When money is tight it feels great to get so much value and have such a great experience. I’ll definitely be back!

Great location and cool vibe
I’ve stayed at the Hogg Oakace for two weeks this time and I love it! The location, the units, the ease of communication and the comfort. Every unit is different but all of them are nicely stocked and have so much room! I especially love the loft style and great light from the windows. I’ll be looking to stay in a Sonder in other cities!

Love SONDER
The bestttttt! I can’t even lie. So convenient, I always feel safe in a sonder. I’m on my 5th one within 2 months. That should explain something! Very clean and they’re very helpful with our stays. This is the best idea anyone could’ve ever come up with. Affordability, GREATTTTT!!!! I highly recommend. I tell all my people to book through here!

Hideous and invasive.
I had to do a “facial recognition scan” at check in. Desk clerk was useless. Told me to do everything with the website and app. In should not require an app to simply stay one night. I should not have to take pictures of my driver’s license AND then do a facial recognition scan (which failed 3x before finally working). This isn’t customs or the border patrol, it’s staying a night in a hotel. The app and RFID unlocking in the elevator and door worked half the time. The other times I had to find the six digit number to punch in. With lots of people waiting in the elevator, that was not fun. The next day when I complained, the clerk said “you only have to do all the set up once, you won’t have to on your next stay.” Guess I’ll miss out on that “benefit” because there is no way I’m giving them another chance.
