Amazing, except for one big item and one small item
I’ve tried some other planners before and between them being clunky due to them not being designed for what Sunsama does. Based on the small amount of time that I’ve had using this, I am pleased generally with the functionality offered. However there is one really large omission that prevents me from giving it a five star review: there is no integration that I have been able to find with iCloud calendar which is what I use for the majority of events (it is possible to overcome this in some ways, but this is a feature that would be tremendous to add). The other thing is that it’s annoying that you are forced to sign in using either google or outlook when I’d prefer to use Sign in with Apple or just create an account directly with Sunsama. I’m still a trial customer but I’m intending to modify my review once the trial ends to see if anything new has come up from my use of the application.

Underdeveloped mobile app for a pricey membership
I wouldn't go so far as to say the mobile app is "useless", but it is surprisingly underfeatured for how costly Sunsama is ($20/month). The mobile app is not "minimal so you can focus" or anything like that. It is underfeatured. You can't see more than one day at a time. You can't really meaningfully alter your schedule. There is no local cache that I can tell, so if your phone isn't getting wifi or data signal, tough! It assumes you are regularly at a desktop computer to do your planning ritual, but I'm sorry, that's not how the workplace is in 2022! To design your whole app system around that assumption seems naive! If this was a free / cheaper app I'd be a lot more lenient about this, but full individual membership is $20 per MONTH. Sunsama overall is thoughtfully designed with a growing catalog of useful integrations, so that part is well worth the price - but other productivity apps of comparable price have more fully featured mobile apps comparable to their desktop counterparts (Trello, Smartsheet, Asana). I know it is a new app that is in continuing development so I am hoping they make the mobile app more useful soon… but for the time being, beware!

Still needs a lot of work done
This app is great in concept but it has a lot of bugs. I’ll enter in an appointment a few weeks in advance and the app will delete it and send me back to present day. The app frequently freezes. The desktop version is not at all intuitive. I spent many hours learning the platform only to be disappointed. The process of creating tasks, scheduling those tasks, managing multiple calendars is not at all streamlined. I will be wasting much of my productivity hours just setting up my calendar for the week. There are also many customization features missing. I like to view my daily schedule in 30 minute increments not an hour. The month at a glance really isn’t a month. It has overlap from other months and I have to sometimes scroll to view the entire month. It just requires a lot of time getting to know where everything is and how it works. I really like the concept but the developers still have a lot of work to do to make it more streamlined, less bugs, more features in order to pay $20 a month just for the basic plan.

Effective-ish
I don’t have many complaints being that I actually appreciate this app, but it’s worth noting that the limitations that come with choosing times and durations for tasks harbors me from actually having a full experience. I work nights but this app is optimized for daytime productivity. I tried to work around that but I noticed that I cannot even add my full work schedule. I work 10.5 hr shifts but i’m only allowed to add up to 8 hr durations. Due this this I don’t use Sunsama anymore, but that’s literally the only reason why.

Autism friendly, one of my favorite systems, S Tier
I have autism, and Sunsama is one of the only systems I've tried that can work for me for extended periods of time. Even though it's not meant for habit tracking, putting my routines in here and being able to check minuscule things off on my phone is like the only way I can stay on track. Otherwise, I can't mentally keep track of what small action goes between each daily task, or even which things to do first. I've had a lot of trouble with being late and unprepared and overwhelmed because of that but Sunsama makes it so easy for me to see what comes next after every little step.

Changes to the app
This was a 5 star app for me, however, when I went to sign up for a subscription things changed a bit. I noticed that when I enter a task now an actual time has to be put on each task and once that time passes the task is no longer in its place. I think this is because when you arrange your tasks it’s delayed in updating and could revert back. I prefer the task to remain and then roll over if not completed. Also, using a desktop for the app wasn’t required previously and I’m not sure why that’s a thing and also should be optional but it’s not terrible I guess. I loved the app and recommended it in my ADHD groups because it was so great, but with the changes I’m not sure how anyone else will feel.

5 stars for the Mac Desktop app
The Mac desktop app is the way to really use this platform. iOS app is more of a companion. I’ve used tons of planning and taks management tools and this is by far the more useful. It’s an extremely logical and helpful way to plan your goals and achieve them. Small nit - the shutdown flow can definitely be improved. It’s pretty basic with the questions asked and just the blank canvass. Suggest a way to measure how the day went and potentially see over time and on the calendar view how well individual days have gone according to plan.

Changed my life
I tell everyone I know about Sunsama because for the first time in my life, I feel like I have a single source of truth when it comes to my tasks. No more random notes, sending myself emails or texts, post-its, shoddy reminder apps. This is a conscious and intentional app that invites you to slow down and clarify what’s actually most important to you. I’ve had issues and experienced bugs… but guess what - their team personally responds to me, follows up, pushes bug fixes, and then let me know. The world needs more tools like this.

Elegant
Beautiful and immensely practical companion app to a beautiful and immensely practical core program/application. Still in the beginning stages of trying it out as someone with severe ADHD, but so far it shows a wonderful amount of promise and the interface itself is gorgeous without distracting and streamlined but powerful. At first I worried it’d be too expensive but the more I learn and explore and implement these workflows the more I see where that money goes. The creators should be very proud of themselves, and I can’t wait to see how Sunsama evolves.

One of my absolute favorite apps of all time
Sunsama absolutely revolutionized how I organize and plan my day. I love that it optimizes for shortcuts. It integrates beautifully with so many other tools I use. The timers and stats have been incredibly helpful.I just adore absolutely everything about this app. I primarily use the desktop but often use my phone if I’m on the go. I’ve even started using Sunsama for my personal tasks. It’s so thoughtfully designed and I love the ability to customize the colors in the app.

Lovet this app conceptually…but…
Love the app conceptually but only the web app because even when I filled out some minor tasks and planned out the week - the mobile app still didnt allow me to work form within it and forced me to go back to the web browser. Also, the $20 price tag is understandable as a start up fee…but monthly? I think its more reasonable if I was using all the integrations but im only using a few. Adding Gmail and trello as an integration is super cool, the calendar itegration is pretty standard in PM apps but the interface has a clean Notion type feel to it. Again, love it and hate it at the same time for not being able to use it as an app on an iPad for whatever reaosn.

Great Mac app, useless mobile app
I love using Sunsama on my laptop, but the mobile app offers such limited functionality on the iPhone app you might as well skip it. I would love to be able to plan my day and review my day on my phone for when I’m on commuting or out of town. I only give 3 stars instead of 1 because the Mac app is so excellent. I highly encourage anyone struggling to find a productivity app that doesn’t overwhelm them to check it out. Its helped me really improve my ability to prioritize so I get more important things done.

Companion app to an amazing piece of software
The companion app continues to improve over time and they even have an iPad version which works pretty good. I am rating this on the overall software capabilities and not just the iOS app. Overall without the companion and additional web/desktop app, my work/life balance would be much harder to achieve. This is not a to do list app, this is a daily and weekly planner app.

The best task manager ever
This has every single LAST feature I need to manage my tasks at a world class level! I love this app. I’m very picky, but I have really no major improvements for this app. The only thing is that I’d like to be able to rank/rate the difficulty of my tasks on a 1-5 scale(or colors). Then, when I’m able to show my boss at work my work, they can see the actual difficulty of what I’m doing.

Hands down the most intuitive
I’ve pretty much used all the planner, task, PM softwares out there. These guys have it dialed. I love there weekly email content that helps drive a fun and productive culture. Love that. All systems have issues at times it’s part of using technology. These guys get it! Also the $20 per month is worth it. There is a reason they charge what they do. Thanks Sunsama for the hard work!

Phone functionality is a bummer
I love this platform so much. It’s been life changing for me, but I often work from my phone and it’s mind blowing how limited planning from the mobile app is. When I’m around my computer regularly, it’s the best thing in my life, but once I have a stretch of time working from mobile, all momentum goes down the drain. I am hoping for this feature to be released soon because it is starting to feel silly to pay so much when I can’t use it properly half of the time.

Could be better with weekly goals
I love Sunsama and how they actually take into consideration what their customer says. That being said I hope they add a feature where we could edit and add into our weekly goal list via our phone app! Would be absolutely useful and the cherry on top! Thank you

I love Sunsama overall—app still needs work
I love the Sunsama team and the desktop website has been life changing. Little parts of this mobile app seem to just not work as well as they should and I hope the team keeps working on the app. I overall love Sunsama though!

I LOVE Sunsama! No better designed workflow out there in my opinion!
Their app has been a while in the making, but they’re really brining it up a notch with each update. I’ve explored a great deal of competitors and I always come back to Sunsama. When paired with the desktop app there’s nothing that I’ve found that has a better workflow, better reflection, and helps me get the most out of my time than Sunsama. Because I’m able to more accurately estimate how long things are going to take me, I’m able to plan better and make space for all of the different passions in my life.

Love Sunsama, but mobile app is just bad
I’m at my laptop 70% of the time. During that time I’m a raving fan of Sunsama. But when I go mobile, it becomes useless. This week’s update still hasn’t fixed the issue of looking beyond today in the calendar (nothing I do loads future day tasks and meetings). In fact, the calendar just has all kinds of weirdness on mobile. Trust is everything and I don’t trust this app when I’m not at my desktop.

Almost the best app out there
The one thing I feel this application is missing is the ability to reply to emails from the platform. It’s great to be able to integrate my emails to review and pull task from them, but the ability to reply to emails would set this experience apart from other softwares.

Best App
This is by far the best productivity app for creatives or people who have a daily list of things to do but don’t necessarily have to blockout exact times to do then. This app helps keep my schedule and plan my day every morning. My business couldn’t run without it.

What’s happening with the app?
I’m in the 2 week trial and just downloaded the mobile app because I’m liking the desktop version a lot. The app is soooo disappointing! What is happening!? Why isn’t there a monthly view on the app? Like if I quickly want to see what days I’m working that week or that month, I have to scroll day by day!?! Why!? Please develop the phone version!! I’m back to being weary that I don’t have a planner!! 😭😭

Overpriced
Remember the days when you could straight out by an app and Microsoft 360 and just own it and you were willing to pay a premium one time price? It seems those days are over and there’s no way I would pay $16 a month for this app after I downloaded it and checked it out. That’s $192 a year. Let us know when you get the price down to something reasonable for what you’re offering.

I like it but far too expensive for what it is…
Nice piece of software to schedule your day but why this high of a price? $5 per month should be sufficient and would get more subscribers to sign up. $16 a month? Not really worth it and far to expensive. Please rethink your business model if you are interested in getting more people on board. For now I move on with other solutions.

A good start but…
The app doesn’t feel fully functional on its own. If I am buying a subscription then I need a more robust product. Notifications and an iOS widget would be key components to make this app more functional.

Core app to my workday
I’ve been using Sunsama for 18 months and it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I am a big proponent of focused, deep work to achieve flow state and complete the important things in my life. It is my central HQ for the workday and integrates with all of the important things in my work life: - Email - Tasks - Projects - Calendar Best $20 I spend every month!

Great time blocker, but a few areas for improvement
First off, I really do love using this to organize my time and plan out my day across all my different to do lists. It helps me manage my day tremendously and I have not found a better alternative so far. I also understand that due to the complexity, the app is meant to be more complimentary to the process you complete on the desktop version. However, for the price you pay, a few things would make this an ultimate standout for me: 1.) more integration options with other apps (for me specifically, tick tick instead of only Todoist as a to do list app option). Right now, the limited number of integrations (while streamlined and easy) - operates under an “all or nothing” approach where you must use the apps they offer in order for this to be useful. 2.) WIDGETS! If the goal is to help you streamline the never ending sources of professional, personal, and other tasks into one clear source of “truth” with a plan…and with the amount we spend on mobile, if the app cannot operate effectively as a stand alone product - then widgets would help resolve that issue on my end. It would offer visually effective overviews of your schedules, progress, objectives etc. in a way that makes sense for the specific individual and greatly help with motivation throughout the day, even when away from the “desktop”. A huge reason I honestly preferred tick tick over to doist as a personal to do list task manager was due to its effective widgets, so I was bummed when I couldn’t integrate it into Sunsama. 3.) better ways to move, re-reschedule, delete etc. with multiple items at a time. - For example, right now it has you plan or look at two days at a time. And if you are past the recommended number of hours in a day - it will recommend you move those items to next week (no option to reschedule “one day” from that screen). - Also, if you planned out a week in advance and later need to shift things around, it would be great to be able to group items and move them all together (or select multiple at a time). Sometimes items are related but not grouped into sub tasks, and it becomes extremely frustrating to move and stroll over 1 task at a time. - more clarity about what “deleting” does and also if a day went by but you didn’t “check” off a task. Does it move it back to the specific inbox of the task manager you pulled it from? Does it go into an archive list where you then forget about it? Depending on the situation I’ve seen it all happen, and it would be great to have ore clarity upfront.
