Started off decent as a credit card, with no credit check impact. Originally did help build credit but after they changed to a trade-line only account they eventually closed my account due to me not wanting to pay monthly just to report an “available balance” of $1,000. Ended up doing the opposite for my credit when they closed the account.
I’ve tried several credit monitoring apps, but Credit Karma stands out as the most cọmprehensive and user-friendly option. The app’s dashboard provides a clear overview of my credit scores, reports, and personalized recọmmendations, making it easy to track my financial progress. What I appreciate most about Credit Karma is its educational resources, which have significantly improved my understanding of credit and financial management. The app’s credit score simulator is another standout feature, allowing me to simulate different scenarios and understand how they affect my creditworthiness; Credit Karma has been instrumental in helping me achieve my financial goals.
The updated Tomo app has made financial tracking a breeze, a significant relief from the confusion and inefficiencies of the previous version. I can’t imagine going back to the old design now; considering how seamlessly I can monitor my spending, set savings goals, and track my progress. The user-friendly interface and improved functionality have transformed my financial management experience for the better, eliminating the frustrations I once had with the app’s outdated features.
I have requested by email to cancel my subscription at the end of my subscription. This company will not cancel the subscription. They just ignore my request. I am now at the point of filing a small claims suit. I will also be contacting the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to file a complaint. Do not sign up for this service. You will be paying forever because there is no way to cancel. They will attempt to charge every credit card they have on file until they get a monthly payment. There is no way to delete your credit card information from the account. This business is fraudulent and should be shut down.
I don’t have a card. I’ve never had any reports made to any bureaus. There’s no option available to cancel and absolutely no customer service to get ahold of. I’ve sent emails and everything only to have no luck in reaching an actual human being that can help provide a resolution. Yet they have no issue trying to charge me repeatedly. Worst and by far the most shady company I’ve ever dealt with. There are soooo much better companies out there that actually provide the services that this fraudulent company pretends to provide. Don’t make the same mistake a lot of us have already made. I wouldn’t even rate this one star if I wasn’t forced to.
Tomo has nailed it with their new design, addressing several pain points I encountered in the previous version. The streamlined interface and enhanced usability have simplified my financial routines immensely. From setting savings goals to monitoring my daily expenses, everything feels more intuitive and accessible, unlike the frustration I experienced with the old design’s cọmplexity and lack of user-friendly features.
I signed up, and it didn’t even help with credit building. They have no phone number to call customer service! They always say “we’re not accepting calls at this time.” And on top of that they keep sending me emails to “update my billing info” for the subscription, AFTER I have emailed them over 5 times to request cancelling my subscription, and for someone to call me. My emails have been ignored and never responded to with no call back. The icing on the cake my credit has gone down due to them not closing my account. I’m reporting them immediately! It is despicable what kind of company this is.
I needed a card to help me boost my credit. After getting turned down by so many card companies I was feeling hopeless. A colleague referred me Tomo. It was so easy and straightforward. I’m not sure why more people don’t care for this company but they helped me build my credit and cover cash flow in the meantime. I’m very satisfied and will refer anyone looking to do the same.
TOMO WILL KIT ALLOW YOU TI CANCEL YOUR MEMBERSHIP. THIS AI THEFT AND FRAUD. THEY HAVE THE WORST SUPPOT. THEY HAVE NO ADEQUATE SUPPORT TEAM. ITS ALL AI NO HUMANS. FALSE ADVERTISEMENT. THEY DINT TELL YOU THE TRUTH ABOUT THE SERVICE UNTIL YOU HAVE BECAME A MEMBER. I NEVER NEEDED OR WANT THE TYPE OF SERVICE THEY PROVIDE. WHEN I SEEN WHAT THEY ACTUALLY DO, I’ve been trying since May to cancel my membership. The same exact day I signed up I’ve been trying to cancel. Tomo has not assisted me in canceling and receiving a refund. The worst App company out San Francisco. Worst app. Does not help credit. The do not actually report to any credit company. They just take your money. Thee worst. They have not help me at All. With credit or cancellation of membership. Seeking legal help now.
I have attempted to contact Tomo for almost 6 months with a request to close my account. I only receive automated generic responses. I have not received any support from a real person at Tomo since first attempting contact. My account still remains open and they still attempt to charge my bank account for service fees. I have a long list of outbound emails that prove my efforts to contact Tomo with absolutely no response or action from their staff. Do not download this app.
I signed up for this and my bank isn’t supported by whatever system they use, I also didn’t see any way to access the 1:1 assistance as advertised even though I shelled out for the VIP package. The “$30,000” credit reporting is misrepresented as well btw, and I’ve tried multiple attempts to contact support over this with zero response AND have seen no way I can cancel it. I’m going to have to report them as fraud to stop the billing and intend on reporting them to BBB. DO NOT USE!
I’ve been putting my people on to Tomo since last year and they’ve all had positive experiences. It’s a reliable option for those looking to build credit responsibly. Wouldn't know what I would do with out. 🙏🏻
I bought a premium 12 month boost in January 2024 and after almost 5 months, they still failed to report a limit on my credit report. They refused to offer a refund and they refused to correct the problem after I reached out 7 times via email. I had to reach out via email by the way instead of Phone because they don’t have an active phone number! Beyond shady practices, please don’t waste your time or money.
To the people that are being scammed by tomo do not let them steal your money! Take it to a lawsuit lawyer, take it to the BBB (Bed of Business Bureau) take it to someone and report them!
Guys if you consider this one as credit rebuild app don’t do it. They are scamming people via monthly report but they never report anything to any bureaus. And they won’t cancel your subscription because it’s through email and they will just asked do not cancel it. I have tried 5 times already and they won’t cancel. Stay away from this app and those robbers. 6 months and 0 reports to any bureau. I’m dumb to use them. Don’t be dumb like me.
I signed up for an account at the end of may, I paid for the subscription, when it wouldn’t work I reached out to them with no response. Luckily the card it was linked to is a bank account that I closed not long after. Recently I have been receiving texts saying that my account will be terminated and “closing a line of credit” can negatively impact my credit score when they didn’t even give me a line of credit. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY THEY ARE A SCAM.
I’ve recently discovered their AI chatbot functionality, which i found very intuitive to use. It really helps me understand my spending habits and build plans for higher credit scores. Love it!!
Haven’t seen any benefit from having this. Never received a card. They will give you a hard time canceling your membership and will continue to charge your card. Their customer service doesn’t exist. Don’t sign up for them. Just follow a sound financial plan to improve your credit.
Didn’t even get the option to get a card. I spent $129 for credit boosting and monitoring and nothing reported to my credit. Then when I reached out to them to cancel, no response. They had no problem stealing my money though. If I could give them negative stars I would.
There is no line of credit offered at any membership level. You will also be ignored by customer service, and there is no option to close your account in the app or on the website. Please don’t get trapped.
This app takes your $15 monthly fee and gives you nothing that you can’t get with a free credit monitoring site. And they purposely don’t provide a phone number because they refuse to help you with important needs and refunds.
Don’t do it yall. There is no customer service. Messages even to simply cancel get received, ignored and labeled as “resolved”. They simply take money from you every month and provide no actual results. Save your money, steer away from these guys
They are scam. They never reported . They will keep charging your card even when you ask them to cancel. Also they will want to bribe you free 60days because you want to cancel . Don't fall for it!!!
I cancelled my subscription after nothing reported to my credit They have been trying to charge my card everyday until finally they got me This app is a scam
Fraud. They say the card is available for one: it is not. Two: If you sign-up for their other product TomoBoost you cannot cancel it. I have been attempting to cancel the subscription for a month, and they are still charging me for it. There's no option to cancel your subscription in a portal, you have to email customer service...and customer service never responds to emails. Avoid!
I used this card once and I still have it but I doubt I’ll ever use it again. I made a order and think’n i had a month to make my payment. I did reach out to customer support and asked why was my bill already due that I had just placed the order just a couple of days before. Also asked was the whole amount due. Yes it was which wasn’t a problem as I’m trying to build my credit back up. I also was think’n I had four weeks and the only reason I’m sure I thought that was because of the others apps almost as such as Tomo. The payment is due in full when the payment due is due. The total amount. I was told they are working on making it better. Anyway it’s an okay card just make sure you have the money for what you spend. Remember it’s all due at once and this make not always be like this after so many times. I didn’t ask that. Read read and make sure you understand. Not a bad app at all
This company is total scam, they claim they care about you and they will boost your credit while the opposite is true. All their online reviews and PR is paid and they remove negative reviews.
THEY WILL DEBIT YOUR CARD AND THEY ABSOLUTELY DO NOT DO ANY SORT OF REFUND. I BELIEVE A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT NEEDS TO BE STARTED AGAINST TOMO FOR STEALING AND APPLE FOR LETTING THIS TERRIBLE APP ON THE APP STORE TO STEAL FROM APPLE CUSTOMERS! Protect us Apple! Protect us from predatory apps that promise to help us but really just steals our money.
A mastercard rewards credit card with no credit check and based on your income. You can request a limit increase after x amount of payments. This is essentially a charge card, but it does build credit and reports as a credit card. Reporting can take a while (months) but it is all backdated, so you will see a substantial increase in your credit score when it does hit. Mine increased about 35 points when it hit after 6 months of payments, which is not much given my score was already good to begin with. Customer service is better than most credit apps since you can call get an english speaking, domestic person- which is highly important to me for the safety of my personal information. The young woman I spoke with answered all my questions and despite sounding very sleepy, she remained professional and courteous. E-mail responses are not prompt but they do respond in a timely manner. Right now requesting a credit limit increase and it does take a while (weeks) to process. For those wondering, I have used this card to rent vehicles for holds, online shopping, and booking hotels and I have not been declined once or faced any issues. This. Is. A. Credit. Card. I have tried multiple apps and companies and even though Tomo has many bugs (website/app) the foundation is good and can only get better. Keep all services domestic and you will get market share. Grain is losing tremendous customer base because of this. Give Tomo a shot.
So I made some purchases 3/3/22 & 3/4/22 thinking that it automatic payment will come out the next week since they state “weekly”. So I get a withdraw less than 7 days and I’m so confused as to why my money is being withdrawn in less than 7 days. I call support, which by the way was a nice guy that answered my call. He told me that Tomo automatic withdrawals are set to Sundays, so no matter what day you made a purchase money will be withdrawn that Sunday. I’m not the only customer that has asked this question due to them not properly stating how they collect money. It’s very misleading saying “weekly” when it’s actually not weekly whenever you make a purchase on any other day of the week besides Sunday. Tomo needs to really clarify what they mean by “weekly”.
I received a $1k credit limit, which is fine, but the sole purpose I had for this card to report my activity to all 3 agencies. It does not, at all. So in the beginning I was doing well, for about a year having the auto draft taken out weekly. Ran into hard times, and they report those hard times on to all bureaus which I’m not upset about. Such is life. But then I got everything back together, they did report that I’m back current but even after halting purchases on this card and maintaining a $0 balance altogether. It has not reported since and that was Nov 2022. It is February. So they only report to TransUnion. Which very much defeats the purpose. I’m going to close the account, I know that’s the only way they’ll report. And I’ve rather have a closed account with $0 balance than what it shows, which is that I’m using 71% utilization of my credit. I wouldn’t recommend if you are building credit. I do recommend if you don’t care about your credit score and you just want to develop the habit of paying your balance in full monthly.
My card was declined (for an online purchase so I didn’t have that embarrassment in store at least) but I had paid the card in full and the payment and available credit had cleared. I tried to use it a couple more times online, still declined. So I contact support and they tell me my card is frozen because my account is under review. But they won’t tell me why it’s under review or when my card will be unfrozen. I think it’s been about a week now. The app itself is very glitchy too. If you make a payment and it says there was an error, just close out the app, wait a few minutes, and open it again. It will most likely show your payment went through. If you don’t close out the app and just try to make the payment again, then it will likely pull a double payment and they won’t refund your double payment - they’ll say it’ll just count as extra available credit. Never mind if that screws up your budget for what’s in your bank account.
This card essentially operates as a weekly charge card. I have to admit I have challenged credit so I was happy to have gotten a credit card with over a 1k limit. However getting debited on a weekly basis isn’t super useful seeing as most people get paid every two weeks as opposed to every week. Granted this is probably to minimize risk but I don’t think that’s feasible for most people. The best strategy I’ve come up with is if I’m going to use this for large purchases for me to use the card right before I get paid. But at the same time one can ask themselves why not just use a debit card to begin with 🤷🏿♂️?. That being said this is a relatively new company and I’m sure they’re looking into it. Keep up the good work team.
After I got the card, thinking it was like a regular credit card, tried for renting a car and found out that there is a block on it for that. I was rather frustrated as I was not informed that the card wasn’t available for use everywhere Mastercard is accepted as advertised. I would just caution people to ask questions and read the fine print. The company means well, but just have to be a little bit more upfront with what the card is TRULY capable of. I feel nervous using the card not knowing what might be approved or not, based on what ever criteria they have. It’s rather annoying and hope they can let me know what kind of or where I can not use the card.
Doesn't report to TU, export/sync to other apps, or tap compatible
It gave me a good starting limit compared to my other cards at the time, but credit reporting is slow; it took me them a few months to finally show on Experian and Equifax, and despite contacting them multiple times, I still don’t have them on my TransUnion report... ...But the good is that it always shows on-time $0 balance and payment history, so I generally use this card during reporting period of my other cards when I pay off the others and they also show paid off on-time 😁 If you tap to pay, it neither has it in the card, nor does it support Apple Pay, chip or swipe only. I also use this card for business expenses, but it doesn’t sync with Expensify or other 3rd parties, and there's no .csv export either, so those have to be manually entered. When it first came out, 14 people used my referral link to join the waitlist, but I didn’t receive one red cent for anybody signing up. Not the end of the world for me and I hope it's fixed by now, but it’s still a bit disappointing.
Card is useful and the rewards are nice even though it’s just 1% back, something is better than nothing. I forgot about the cash back for a while and stacked up $40 which was nice and just applied that to my payment. I use this card for my groceries on a weekly basis and pay it auto pays every Sunday. As long as you’re not overspending (which you shouldn’t do anyway with a credit card) then you’ll be fine. Use it for the amount that you’d spend on gas, groceries or whatever a week anyway instead of your debit card or cash. Works for what I need it to do!
