Works well for basic functions
I use it to mobile deposit checks and look at my balance. Most bills are on autopay. I don’t think I’ve written a check in about 5 years. Only time I had an issue was after I updated iOS but the app did it have an update for about 2 days later to fix a bug where I couldn’t photo back of check. Once I updated app it worked again. That’s the only issue I’ve ever had. Like the thumbprint verification feature on iPhone 7.

It takes getting used to
I was a Firefly member and had no problem transitioning from that credit union to Trust One... excuse me; TruStone (auto-correct). The app works technically the same with an extra step. I was used to clicking on Checking, for example, and seeing all the transactions. Instead this app brings me to a screen list of all the things I can do and I have to press “transactions” to see them. This is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. The list should be separate. I should be able to choose what I want to do and then choose the account(s) I want to look at. In lieu of this, the list could be a page afterwards. Transaction History should show first after clicking the name, it’s the most important in my opinion and for me at least it’s the screen I want to see. As is, it’s an unneeded extra step. Everything else about this app is fantastic. The way all the accounts appear to “update” when logging in brings my attention to each one that has changed. The app also shows a detail for interest earned. Again using my Checking account, I see an effective interest rate paid. If it’s on tiers it’s shown as a “split rate” combining the different rates and dividing by the amounts of each tier to arrive at the overall rate paid. Kudos!

Great bank and pretty solid banking app
We have been with TruStone since the US federal credit union days. In all that time, they have been a solid financial partner for us and don’t attempt to screw is over like our previous institution. I have gotten to know the bankers in our local branch and they have been looking out for us by suggesting account changes which have helped us earn more interest on our savings. The only opportunity that I could suggest is with the online app. 1) In the bill pay section, don’t make me jump through a lot of hoops to set a pay date. It should be selectable from the initial payment screen. 2) The app never asks for a password unless it is the most inopportune time. Look, if I haven’t needed to use a password in two years, I’m not going to remember it when I’m trying to enter a payee. Just use facial recognition. Otherwise, our experience has been top notch.

If I could give Trust One ZERO Stars I would
Ever since the “switch” or TAKEOVER from Firefly it has been an absolute NIGHTMARE. I never ever wanted to be with Trust One. I don’t trust them at all. They don’t deserve anyones trust to be honest. They take advantage of their customers and have HORRIBLE customer service. Half the time they don’t even know what they are doing or how to help you. Also the app is NOT user friendly whatsoever. Constant errors “on their end” and it’s like jumping through hoops just to do a simple member to member transfer. Also so many times I have tried to do online banking and it’s not working at that time. Don’t even bother trying to do a transfer or any online banking at night because they are constantly “updating” their systems. *Insert Eye Roll* I’m absolutely SICK to death of all the issues and I’m about to take all of my accounts elsewhere. Firefly was such a WONDERFUL and super user friendly experience. Trust One is the complete OPPOSITE. It’s absolutely HORRIFIC. Steer clear if you can. Run far away from this useless credit union. Trust ME. You will thank me later. ;)

Not the credit union I would choose
I lost my job a couple of years ago and got behind in my home equity loan. I was with Firefly credit union. Instead of working to right the ship, TruStone froze my accounts, stopped my automatic payments and then lied to me about my visa not once, not twice, but three times about it. Had they been upfront about their practices I might have considered changing credit unions or at the very least spent ALOT less time attempting to figure out why my credit card did not work. On my fourth attempt to figure out my credit card not working and fourth trip into their location I was told my credit card was frozen because of my outstanding home equity loan. Funny thing was the loan had been paid in full for two months. I find that working with them is difficult at best. Nobody seems to know what is going on and nobody wants to give bad news. The merger between Firefly and TruStone left a very bad impression with most of the Firefly members that I have talked to and certainly me.

Nonfunctional
The app does not show complete titles for bill pay so you can’t tell what you are seeing. You also can’t get the views to change by selecting the buttons so I can’t even see what bills are already scheduled to pay. I have never been able to get it to actually process a mobile deposit across 5 attempts, and when it appears to go through I still get emails that it is not deposited and is actually under review. (It does not say why.) Funds that show as available in the app have been not actually available for transfer, resulting in fees when TS says there are not sufficient funds. I am NOT impressed with this shoddy app as it actually decreases myeffectiveness while adding stress rather than the opposite. Fix it, please!

Good but mobile deposit ok
So far so good on most things! Pretty straightforward on balances, transferring money, etc. Check deposit is just ok. The checks I receive from my work have a “check here for mobile deposit” box. However, TruStone doesn’t recognize that box. I need to physically write “for mobile deposit only” under my signature and even then, every single deposit is “pending further review.” Maybe this is normal for TruStone but worth my last credit union I never had these extra steps. You also CANNOT link your mortgage to your bank account. It is a completely separate site and log in. Again, different from my last credit union. Now I again have that extra step. All in all I’m very happy with TruStone, these should be extras added to the user friendly experience.

Chat problems & password crazy
I joined TruStone financial credit union on Friday. Today I opened my app and I'm having trouble finding something so I decided to try your chat. There are problems with it, the main one being the mobile layout is too long for my iPhone 14 Pro Max. I can't see the last 2 rows of options/categories we are offered by Ruth. I tried dragging the screen up with my left thumb as I selected one of the lower options with my right finger, but it didn't work. I can't select an option with my thumb already on the screen. Some sites allow it and some don't. That's the biggest problem because it immediately rules out the use of Ruth. The second problem is that there's no place to write a question. Even if she is a bot, I want to be able to write my question down because when I ask for a human (and by the time I choose to chat, I will probably need one), the representative is able to read the question and I don't have to go through it again. As for the app, I REALLY don't like you forcing me to enter my password for every single edit I make! I'm already signed in, I've even used face recognition, so why make me waste so much time? App is Great, Bank AMAZING.
Hands down best bank I’ve ever been to. It is my first credit union, but I did shop around at other credit unions and looked at reviews and most other credit unions are quite large in my opinion and you end up feeling like you’re at a Wells Fargo or or a US bank anyways. This bank makes me feel like I am cared about welcomed and I never have to wait. I truly feel like a valued customer rather than just a checking account.

I didn’t think I could do It!
I have only deposited 2 checks by mobile banking. I am 80 and I didn’t think I could do it! It is so easy and so very convenient for me living 75 miles from my TruStone in Maple Grove. I use to drive in to do my banking, but with this mobile banking it is so easy and with my newly gained confidence of mobile banking I feel I have just learned a new skill. If you can read anyone can do it. Thank you TruStone.

Could use some improvements
There are a couple things I’ve noticed that could be a bit more streamlined. I share a joint credit card account with my partner, but I do have my own card with my name on it. I’d like to be able to pay off the balance myself rather than needing to go online via computer. I also can’t view the credit card account through my own user profile in order to check the balance—I have to use her’s. Not sure if this is an issue with the app or the way the banking system is set up.

Subpar
Sign out is hidden behind too many menu’s have to click hamburger menu, then tap on my name on bottom (not listed with other options that first show up there); then it unhides sign out and then have to tap sign out. With a banking app you would think this would be more prominent to protect your data. Also within transactions view it says “Withdrawl_ach_withdrawl” and you have to click on each value to then see at the end of a long string the actual identifier of what was the withdrawal for. Could be a bug; but very annoying in current state.

Check deposit
The deposit is obscured while being entered. Furthermore the deposit is being rejected multiple times saying the phrase “for deposit only” must be used when it is clearly used as instructed. I even had a stamp created for that purpose. This time I actually had to stamp it twice before you accepted it. Please fix this!

Much better than the app from U.S. Bank
After being with US Bank for decades, and utilizing their app sometimes, I found this app to be much better in design than what I previously had been working with. The only drawback to this app is that it’s a bit finicky about check deposit. I received a check from the state of Minnesota, and it took me four attempts over two days to finally take an image that was good enough for the app to accept.

Receiving money through Zelle does not work
I had a buddy send me some $ through Zelle a few weeks back but I can not receive it because it says I need to make an account through Zelle and every time I open the Zelle app to link my bank account to it, the link that is supposed to send me to my banking app and actually just sends me to a page on the App Store of the Trustone app. I have tried literally everything there is to get my money out of Zelle and everything has failed. Could really use some assistance

Fast transfer
This is my fist on time transfer and am not sure if it would go through same day. I give it a five starts because I love Trustone and I’ve been with them for over three years now. I’d just moved to Cleveland and have not seen another brunch anywhere close. But It’s still okay

Check Deposits need work
When depositing a check you are presented with a list of accounts but you cannot see the account names and you only get a couple digits of the account number which makes it virtually impossible to select the correct account. After the deposit is complete you cannot return to the dashboard. Tapping on the dashboard button just brings you back to the deposits screen.

App is great on iPhone, just OK on iPad
The app works great on both iOS and iPadOS, but the iPad version doesn’t support multi-tasking (ex: side-by-side use), which makes using it in conjunction with my budgeting apps difficult. This is compounded by the fact that I have to sign in again (or unlock the app) Every. Single. Time. I switch back and forth between the apps — even for just a few seconds apart.

Not ready for the big time!
Trustone Financial Credit Union is not ready to meet the needs of the average, modern consumer. Their struggles to provide timely & thorough service(s) can be traced back long before the effects of the resource & labor scarcities related to the pandemic. Nice enough people work there & they want to help, but they’re hobbled by an inadequate infrastructure of systems & procedures which aren’t seamlessly aligned to service reasonable, consumer/Member demands. NOTE: if you ask them to change your phone number of file, be absolutely sure they’ve done it on “both ends”.

Neighborhood Credit union
I opened my account because I could deposit cash tips into my account with the ATM. Turns out the online banking and Truestone application does it all! Easy to view account activity, transfer funds and set up bill pay. If I need additional help the branch associates are friendly and helpful!!

Improvements to app needed
Why does “credit card loan advance” appear for each credit card purchase instead of the actual store where the purchase is made? This is jargon that doesn’t make sense unless you work there. Why can’t I transfer to another persons account through the app? And it’s only available by calling and talking to someone. This is better than the version before, but seriously consider collecting “voice of the customer” to make improvements to what WE need and want from the app. I want to be able to nickname the accounts.

Car loan
I’ve been making extra payments on my car loan. I called several times asking if my extra payment was being applied towards interest. Every time I called I was told it was and when I asked why it looked like it was I was told it was but I’m a round about way. Finally after my third call I reached a person who explained it was not being applied to my principal at all. I’m very upset with the information this bank provides to its customers and will never finance a vehicle with them ever again.

Can no longer use
I have an iPhone 5 which I love. TruStone recently upgraded the app to exclusively work with the 16.5 update and now it will never work on my phone so no more depositing checks conveniently. This is the only app I have that only works now with the 16.5 app. I have been with TruStone/firefly and a couple name changes before maybe 30 years but I now need to join a different bank for depositing checks conveniently as not every company has dropped the Apple update versions completely before 16.5

Great Bank and App
I have had a great experience with TruStone and their app has been reliable I do nearly all my banking online. They also have a great checking account rate that makes it nice to save money compared to other banks that will only give you .01%

Mobile app
I find this app so useful on a day-to-day basis. I rarely have to contact the bank by phone. More importantly, it is so user friendly even someone whose is not computer literate can use it. However, I sometimes miss talking to the cheery and informative people at the bank’s help line.

Mobile checking
It is very difficult to deposit your check mobile but it’s extra difficult when you’re not told that you must write mobile only and you’re expecting your funds to be available and it’s not because you wasn’t told that it has to have that on it in order for it to deposit.

Good app, similar to desktop website
The app works pretty well. Only time I can remember having an issue logging in was when the system was overloaded with too many members logging in to see if their stimulus checks arrived. Otherwise the service is great! Can’t think of any major downsides to it.

The site is not very user friendly. Firefly had a great site, perhaps you can incorporate some of their settings? I’m not a fan of at all. I’m trying to adjust to change, but you haven’t made it easy.

Transaction Alerts Broken
Transaction alerts were already delayed to begin with when the firefly to trustone shift happened. But they did eventually appear, until the ceased suddenly over these last few weeks. Not sure why as all other apps are sending notifications on my phone, and the transaction alert I set up is still listed in app settings. Disappointing.

Very disappointed
Ever since I changed over from Wells Fargo I’ve had nothing but problems with this app. Doesn’t always update and it becomes laggy and I have to jump through more obstacles than I ever had to with Wells Fargo. Also just doesn’t seem to be very reliable so I will be closing my account and changing back over to Wells Fargo I’m really glad I wasted my time and money with this company and will not recommend TruStone to anyone and will caution them about it.

Credit Card Loan Advance needs to go!
When looking at credit card transactions I don’t need ‘Credt Card Loan Advance’ at the beginning of every entry! I can’t see who the transaction is from without clicking on it. If it must be there, put it at the end. Get rid of this and I’ll give you 5 stars.

This app is a complete joke for the last hour I've tried to change my password or do account recovery its such a joke i get all the way through it and when i put in a new password it says theres an error on their end and this isn't a one time thing I've tried multiple different times and the same “errors” keep happening

Mobile deposit is a pain
On the old firefly app it was very simple, snap a pic of the front and back and away you go. Now I have to write account number, “for mobile deposit only”, and it does not work. Hopefully they’ll still accept checks in person that have all that nonsense written on them...

Not responsive
My former credit union moved us to Trustone. Total disaster! Can’t get into one of my accounts online at all. Called over a week ago. Not helpful. Did this on March first when all bills are due. So many people upset that we can’t get through to them. Very poorly planned transition. Online service is inadequate and old fashioned. Never before had problems like this.

Regret the merger with TruStone.
I voted the firefly/TruStone merger. After 20+ years with firefly, I had been very pleased with all of their services including the website and app. So far the app, and it’s clunky use and appearance have been yet another disappointment. And forget about trying to get a message thru to someone in a timely manner. Used to be easy and efficient with firefly, now it’s like to see the Pope.

No way to add accounts
The app can’t function at all when my accounts don’t even show up. I can see them and their respective balances on the ‘transfers’ screen, but the app doesn’t find my accounts when I try to perform any banking functions. There doesn’t seem to be a way to add my accounts either. I guess I will not be using this app at all!

Very cumbersome
Not only their policies but also the user frendliness of interface. Just became a member a few weeks ago and everything appears to be out of date compared to other financial institutions: refinace underwriting antiquated, held my first deposit of $8,000 for almost ten days, now reviewing every mobile deposit (much smaller amounts) individually before even pending in my account. Taking my money elsewhere soon.

Doesn’t work with my iPhone.
I am very upset about this app. It wasn’t great to begin with but at least it worked. Now it won’t work with my iPhone. I feel like I’m being forced to spend hundreds if not $1000 on a new phone that I do not want or do not need. I think this is disgusting. I would close my account here before I bought a new phone.

I love Trustone Financial and have a member since 1986 when it was Teachers federal Credit Union..I went paperless to be environmentally sensitive but now I find all sorts of obstacles with the website when I try to view or print my monthly statement. Please make this site more user friendly. I’ll try downloading the app again to see if it’s fixed.

Too much!
There’s way too much going on in this app. Before the merge the firefly app was straightforward and simple. Now I get on this app and I feel like im having a stroke. All of the options and loops you have to jump through make mobile banking overwhelming. Also it’s bogus that you can’t do an instant transfer to a person, you have to wait for the next day to receive the money.

App Not Inclusive
I have an IPhone 7 and my iOS is 15.8.2. With your new update, I am no longer able to access this app on my phone because it states I need iOS 16. This is unfair. I liked the app just fine and now J can no longer easily transfer money or check my balance in a convenient way. Please change this! Thank you.
