App needs more payment options!! Also, like most other apps for services, a chat option is needed for real time customer support. Also I once paid using the checking account option and the payment was cancelled by TEP. The app (and website) need the option of clicking on said cancelled payment which would link or display a pull down bar as to the reason for the cancellation. This would make things so much easier than calling in and being on hold or sending in a request to speak with someone and waiting the “2 business days” for them to get back to you.
I am a long term Tucson Electric Power customer. I just completed an online survey for TEP, and it asked several questions about the TEP mobile app which I have had on my phone for a couple of years, but haven’t used. So I thought I should go check it out. Well it is up to date, and so is my iOS version. But the app won’t even load! So I checked settings, deleted the app, reinstalled it from the app store, disabled my VPN (shouldn’t have to), rebooted phone, the TEP app still hangs. So stop beating your chest about this app, TEP. You would get zero stars from me, if it were an option. There is no place on the TEP customer service website to get help on the app either, so I guess it is “unsupported”.
App fails to sign in with Face ID and doesn’t let you use a password manager to fill password
App is poorly designed it fails to sign in with Face ID and doesn’t let you use a password manager to fill in your password, you can’t even copy and paste it. So if you have a long password, good luck signing in every time to pay your bills, you’re better off using the website to pay.
Why is it so hard to simply pay my bills with your app? It’s already impossible to reach a human via phone, set up payment arrangements without giving crooks my full bank account number. It’s almost as if TEP makes this process difficult on purpose to rack up service charges. Worst part is, when I try to pay, it won’t take my card! Every other app or entity on earth has no problem taking my card but TEP won’t allow me to. And thanks to monopolization, there are no other options for Tucsonians. The people who run this company are absolute monsters and should be held accountable.
Pretty bad since the last update. New app doesn’t allow Apple password feature to activate so I can select from stored passwords. Also, many more steps are needed to pay a bill than before the update. All shortcut features are nonfunctional and I have to type key by key to complete login and payment. I will now just activate paper billing and increase your costs to avoid having to use this app again. Hopefully that encourages your company to make updates that don’t make your customers ability to pay a bill more difficult.
Has much potential but useless on iphoneX or smaller screens. Why pinch/zoom not available to expand screen view? Can’t see current usage or demand, only previous billed month, so not possible to monitor use anywhere near real time. Daily demand chart shows highest demand of entire day rather than highest PEAK HOUR demand. Bug reported months ago. No option for notification when budget billing amount changes, end up getting months past due when on auto pay with no need to review bill every month. Assuming I could read screen, it would be very convenient if like other apps, I did NOT have to log in every single time. it takes longer to do that than view my usage, which is my primary use for the app. Phone call is otherwise most efficient use of time for all else.
This app was fine until about a month ago. Now it sends daily notifications about a bill to pay even though it was paid weeks ago. And the payment shows as being posted. The only alternative is to shut off the notifications. Very annoying!
Simple to pay your bill, and easy to track the progress of any power outages on the outage map. You can also check your daily and hourly energy use if you want. Better than similar apps from other utilities.
Just downloaded the app to set up a payment arrangement and it seems simple enough I don’t get why it’s such a low rating on here? It does what you need it to do bill payment wise
It could definitely be more fine tuned for a better user experience. It bothers me that when you make a payment it takes several days for them to actually take it. I pay bills using other apps and it generally comes outta my account the same day.
This app is useless. I downloaded to view usage but usage is not up-to-date because I have checked it daily and the usage has stayed the same for days now and obviously we are using power in the house. Their is an option to view usage daily and hourly which seemed great until you click on it and it always says it’s unavailable. Junk.
It’s been DAYS of me trying to see my account with just a loading screen and nothing more. Tried everything, even restarting my phone and deleting my app but nothing. Please don’t issue an app to pay bills if it’s not going to work half the time.
The app will not let you paste a password into the box in order to sign in. This makes it impossible to use a password manager on my phone. No modern app should be incompatible with security best practices like using a password manager
It’s impossible for me to register my account through the app. You have to type in your address and hope it matches whatever they have you registered for in order to sign up. WHY CANT I USE MY ACCOUNT NUMBER THAT I ALREADY HAVE?!
I tried to open an account in the app and it does not recognize my street number, been here 12 years I think I know my address. Deleted the app and downloaded again and the same. Garbage app.
I enter password and then get message that the line is blank. I tried to send message and it tells me special characters only and @ is not allowed. Customer service unable/unwilling to help. Developer needs coding lessons!!
Signing in through a web browser works consistently. The app, on the other hand, consistently claims that there is no account associated with my email. It is functionally useless.
TEP customer looking for easy app to view usage, pay bills. Can’t even register and get it to open. Please fix or create a better app and experience for your customers. Thank you.
This TRP app worked until the last update. Now the daily and weekly usages are Greyed out and don’t work. This makes the App worthless. This is what happened when a Foreign Company, “Fortis” owns a local utility. They only care about profit, not customers!
Never accepts the payment. Now I have to pay in store for any payment, I can’t pay with card or on the phone. Completely inconvenient, I’m deleting this since it does me no good what so ever.
It helps too see your bill and how much you have used!but payment this something out of the stone age . you can only pay using your checking account??? Please offer other way to pay
Even on the mobile phone it’s easier to look at your bill through a browser on tep.com. The app will not allow auto fill of the password (website does) and the app does not allow you to see your bill as a pdf (again, website does). I cannot think of a good reason to keep this app on my phone.
The app it’s so easy to access with face recognition. No need to mail or drive around to find a payment process store. With this app I am able to see all the essentials of my account and balance. Being able to make arrangements when needed it’s great. I love to get notifications during monsoon season when my neighborhood has power outages.Definitely, it will benefit from having one time payment option to pay a balance with my credit card not just my bank account.
The TEPapp is NOT user friendly for TEP customers because it requires entering a U.S. Postal Service zip code and that might be 5 digits or 9 and might be changed by the USPS at any time without coordination with TEP. Chat is also missing. The TEP app developer is inept.
I downloaded this app because the TEP website recommended doing so to report outages and I was (still am) waiting on hold for more than 20 minutes. So I wasted valuable cell phone battery and data allowance (yknow, since my power is out and I can’t recharge battery or use WiFi) to download the thing only to be told that apparently, only property OWNERS have the pRiViLeGe of electricity, because you can’t even REPORT a power outage unless you have an account with TEP! Like okay, it’s midnight, but I’m sure my landlady won’t mind if I wake her up to ask her account number. ?! Reporting an outage is a basic function that anyone who occasionally USES electricity should be able to do. Some help.
The Tucson Electric Power mobile app makes it easy to manage your account anywhere at any time. You can check your account balance, pay your bill, review your hourly, daily and monthly energy usage, see the local weather and learn new ways to save energy. You also can report a power outage, learn about local outages and sign up to receive alerts about service interruptions that affect your home or business. Your mobile carrier's data rates may apply.
