Great for learning tabs and tuning uke, pretty major flaws

First off this is the best app I’ve seen for a beginner looking to learn uke, or just someone wanting a reliable tuner. I adore the selection of tabs provided, and the game has just the right amount of tools to guide you into learning the songs. Major flaws however. Namely even though I purchased premium, I have to exit out of this annoying add for another tuner every time I open the app, even if I just want to quick tune. I even ended up caving in and downloading the advertised app just to see if the screen would go away, news flash, it didn’t. Another major flaw is the constant crashing if the app, and how the star system at the end is completely broken. It’d be nice to see my progress across all the tabs I’ve practiced, but the star rating just never seems to register. All in all I’d highly recommend it, but if the flaws mentioned above are never addressed I could see myself dropping it.

The app was good until i attempted to by pro

I loved the games, I paid a couple bucks for it and it was completely worth it. I learned the cords quickly. That was about a month ago and then it updated and said that it had a new tabs button and could teach better, cool beans, clicked the buy button in the app. It said purchase confirmed - $22 bucks. Nothing has changed, tabs is just a white blank. It hasn't taken the money out of my account yet but I'm confused as to why it keeps harassing me in the app to purchase what it says I've already purchased for nothing to change? Good app until it became really annoying and just keeps crashing now.

Great overall!

So, you’re probably reading this because you’re about to get this app (or you’re the developer or something). I think it’s a great app! I Got my ukulele because we were playing it at school. It was so out of tune for the longest time. I decided to download this app and guess what, it’s tuned. Yay. So, that’s awesome! There are however some things I would change. The whole premium thing, kinda gets in the way of learning how to play. I get that this is a free game, but it’s kinda difficult to play sometimes. So that’s one thing I would change. In fact, the only thing I would change. The premium is fine, but maybe just free some things up. So, If you’re thinking about getting this app, do it! It’s such a great app! Good but also meh 😐

I got my first ukulele at the beginning of this month because I was playing it during school and loved it. I couldn’t use this app at first which I get because the uke was SOO out of tune so it didn’t pick up the notes but then I got it and it this app works pretty well! I love how I can find different chords I’m not familiar with on it and metronome is helpful also. So that’s the good part. The meh part is that those are the only things you can do on there without paying for premium. Everything else is quite limited. I can only play one song that uses tabs which I just started learning. It would be nice to have some more songs you can play that use chords too. Another “meh” thing about this app is that it’s kind of hard to figure out what everything is. The directions should be clearer. But it a good app. I use it all the time for tuning.

Really REALLY

Ok so I am a beginner so I’m trying to figure out how to play these notes and tune it and play songs easily but When I try to listen to Mary had the little lamb the beginner song it’s like oh you need to have premium for this and I’m just like I’m just trying to learn how to play and your trying to charge me money just so I can listen to a beginner song?!! NO! Also if you are a beginner DO NOT GET THIS APP it’s SO confusing with all the different parts and everything you click I feel like it just pops up with HEY you need premium for this so you need to give money to have this! For a stupid app that you probably don’t even need! Ok so I am definitely deleting this app and creators I know you are just trying to make it work and you know trying to teach people but like can you stop it with the premium this and maybe add directions to everything so like beginner beginners can understand more, if you did those two things the app would be fine.

Ummmm...

When I first got my ukulele, I decided to hold off on getting a real tuner and instead see if this app really did what it said it did. It really didn’t though. The app would only pick up the G and E strings, completely not acknowledging the C and A. As in I would play the C string and it would only say that it was an off-key G or E string. It was very frustrating because I couldn’t play my uke (correctly anyways) for a while since it it was so out of tune and I am not experienced enough to do it by ear. I had to purchase a Snark tuner and had to wait a while for shipping. Also, I was especially disappointed after seeing that this app had worked so well for many other people. p.s.- I am usually not a person to write a rude review but after my experience and the fact that it still continuously asks me to write a review, I thought it was necessary

Very direct

It's so simple I over thought how to use it. All you have to do is pull a string and the app will know which you're trying to tune. It's really smart. The clarity of a nicely tuned ukulele is amazing. I didn't notice my ukulele wasn't tuned all the way (tried by ear) but when I perfected it, I noticed that it makes all the difference. I'm definitely keeping this app on my phone. It isn't complicated but I think we as a society tend to complicate things for no reason which is what I did at first. But all in all, this is the best one I've used. Very straight to the point. No ads also which is great because I can focus on the important thing- my ukulele.

Great but more instruction would be useful

I'm an absolute novice on the ukulele and I only bought my uke a few weeks ago. I found this app and now that I understand how to use it I think it's incredible but as a brand-new musician the one criticism I would make is that when you open the app there should be an option to explain how this is used. If there is one then I missed it and it should be more obvious. I suppose that people who play the ukulele and the guitar are familiar enough with this that they wouldn't need it but for someone like me a quick instructional would have been nice. Otherwise this is a real life saver for a quick tuning.

Ok so I love this app but I’m not gonna complain or say how good it is. I just so confused. I got this app to learn cause I’m a beginner but then I didn’t play the Uke for a while. So I deleted the app for more space. Now I have more time on my hands and I wanna get back to playing the Uke and I still need to learn how to tune and all of that, and I liked this app before so I went to download it again. And I downloaded it. And I can’t open it. And no matter how hard I try I can’t. I don’t know what’s wrong is it my phone? And I tried downloading other random games and I can open them. Just not this specific one.

Trash App

This App is an absolute dumpster fire. It does not work as advertised. Here I download an app expecting to be able to tune my new Ukulele given to me by my girlfriend for my birthday, but the app keeps me from making melodious and incredible music with my phresh (so fresh it’s a ph) Ukulele. This app is like a firework that shot into the air but didn’t burst. It’s like a story that ends “and then he woke up”. Julie Andrews could’ve written a song called “My Least Favorite Things” and this would be the first thing listed. I hope your experience is different, but sweet mercy I don’t have the patience for it.

Actually pretty good

I've used this app for a long time and it has never ceased to make me happy with its content. But some how the app was deleted from my phone I didn't notice for awhile though. When I did I immediately added it and tried to use it, but it can never get past the loading page. It always crashes and never gives me a notification telling me why. I've tried restarting the app several times, delegating and re-adding the app, I even tried restarting my phone, but nothing works. This is for sure a 4 out of 5 app if I didn't have the issues with simple opening up the app.

Great tuner, strongly Recomend

A while ago when I got a tuner so that I can get exact tuning, I lost it few weeks after, it was better in some ways than this app since you don’t have to put your phone close to the ukulele, but this still works just great. With multiple tools like a beat counter, Tuner (of course), and a place where it shows you cords, I only need the tuning but for a beginner this would be great since it shows and helps you get started. I really like this app and is a great tool. And I hugely recommend it. Great job developer!!

Good app.

This is a good app mostly. The only things that are wrong is that they should have more that you can do with a free membership. But it is a good app overall so if you just need it for tuning or learning basic chords, than get with out hesitation. I give it five stars because I just need it for tuning and I don’t need the other stuff. My mom and Dad say that I am going to need better teaching so I am asking for a membership on my birthday which is March 13. Thanks for making this app! Love it!

Weird ads? Great app.

I really enjoy this app. It works really well and I love the testing of chords, ear training, fingerings etc. However, I’m not sure if it’s an ad or what but this purple screen pops up sometimes asking me to download another ukulele tuning app because this one is “done”. The sentence isn’t even proper English and it’s kind of annoying. Sometimes I can bypass it and go to the app, other times not so much. So is this a weird ad or are you really changing to app and want everyone to download a new one?

Was great until the update

I downloaded it to help me tune my ukulele and it was doing an amazing job... until they updated the app. The display and design is a lot worse, it doesn’t even fit my phone screen, the bottom display and right side display is cut off so I can’t even read or figure out how to use this app anymore. It’s slow and glitchy and I don’t know why it’s acting this way. I deleted and redownloaded it and it’s still stuck this way. It’s really frustrating when I want to do simple things like figure out a chord, or just simply tune and I can’t because of the display. I really liked the display before but now it’s a mess. Wish it could go back to what it was.

Frustrated

I really liked this app at first, so much I subscribed after the first free week. But every time the subscription renews I lose full access to the app that I’m paying $5.99 a week for. The first time it happened they fixed it right away and I was able to access the full within an hour of reporting the problem. This time, however, it’s been two days since reporting the problem and I’ve received no response about the problem, I still don’t have full access to the app and they haven’t reimbursed my money. They’ve charged me for the week , they should either fix the problem or give me my money back.

It is absolute garbage

This app has nothing good about it. Unhelpful to the max. When I try to tune, I tuned low far too much, tuned higher even more, and the tuner in the app stayed at the red color, and at lowest number, “-50”. This app is a waste of time and I highly unrecommend you downloading it. I am in the backseat of a car going to a tryout for the South Carolina School of the Arts right now, and I need to play quite a few songs to get in. Now I am a minute away from the audition with an untuned ukulele. Absolutely wonderful. Just trust me. It is a rip-off. It had quite good reviews when I downloaded it, which were obviously botted. This is probably one of the few true reviews (if not the only) you will find.

Umm it’s ok I recommend

Umm I got my uke a few weeks ago and I still don’t understand it and when I try to learn how on here I can’t bc almost everything makes u pay$ so I will admit it’s a great tuner only sometimes when my A chord is a out of tune it says it’s an out of tune G which gets annoying but I’d say it’s a 4⭐️ app I guess but if a developer is seeing this u should make more things free pls!!! It is better than a lot of other ones though so I guess I recommend🤷‍♀️?

Best tuner yet!

I just bought my first ukulele yesterday and I didn’t know that it was so out of tune when I got it but when I watched tutorials on how to play it I noticed it was waaaaay to high pitched so when I downloaded the first tuning app that popped up (which was this one) it was incredibly accurate on recognizing the strings your trying to tune and it helps a lot because once you finish tuning the ukulele it sounds so clear and calming. 5 star rating for me👌

Appears to be a great app for learning

I started this app today and I noticed that when I want to tune my ukulele or learn to play a song it isn’t full screen. When I click on a song to play it goes vertically and not horizontally. No matter the position my device is in. The app has no help button that is there to teach you about the controls, there is only a help button for teaching you how to use the chords. Frustrated! I finally got my grandpa interested in playing the ukulele with me, and now he is getting discouraged. Can you please fix this?

Ukulele time!

This app is good, average tuner works as expected. I’m giving this app 5 stars because if you enable notifications every day at 8pm this app will give you a notification that just says: UKULELE TIME! and it seems very happy and makes me quite excited, so every night at 8pm when I see the notification I will yell “UKULELE TIME!” to my partner and it has caused several laughs and brought us even closer together. Thank you for the joy this app brings.

No I’m not a bot lol but when I first got my ukulele it was also really out of town so I needed to know but none of my brothers knew how to or whatever so I downloaded this app and it first this app was so confusing and I was like oh my gosh why is it moving around so much and then finally I downloaded it later on and it works so well because now I know how to use it so at first it’s a little confusing but then it gets better.

I got my Ukulele not too long ago and I had no idea how to use this. I decided to download this game to tune it and learn some songs. I go into the tuning part of this app and I play a note. When I play the not it doesn’t respond to my not to tune it. I play a different note and it still doesn’t work. I would rate this no stars if I could cause that’s just one part that doesn’t work. I go to play a song to see if this app deserves at least a star. When I go into the learning tab I see one of my favorite songs and I learn that it’s premium and the only one I could do is MARY had a little lamb.

Best iPhone Tuner

This tuner is incredible. The best ukulele tuner on the App Store in my opinion. It’s about as accurate as my snark tuner and is a great tool to have for the many times I or someone I am with forgets to bring a regular tuner or the tuner is out of batteries. For months this is what I used when I kept forgetting or didn’t have time to pickup batteries for my tuner (I probably should’ve just ordered them but because of this app I didn’t need to!). 😆

Pay attention to which note it's judging...

Easy to use. As long as you are remotely close to the right note it will help you get there visually. But beware! Just because you are playing the E string doesn't mean your tone is closest to an E and the app (free version at least) just helps you get closer to the note you are already close to, so look at which note it's steering you toward lest you tune two strings to the same note...

Sorta like it but...

I would give it a higher ranking, but it’s just that the only thing this app is good for is tuning it. Almost everything else you have to buy. I would recommend this if you are looking for JUST a tuner. If you are looking for an app with much more this isn’t the app considering that you have to buy a lot to get much more. Other than that if you do buy some of there deals then it is a pretty good app, tho I would appreciate if they had more pop music in the song selection.

Good but issues

This app was really helpful, it tuned my uke great but there were some minor problems when tuning as I was trying to tune A it kept getting it as C or E. There is an auto mode where you can specifically choose the string your playing, but you have to pay for that. I get that’s how they make a profit but some of us barely use the app or don’t have the money. This made me really frustrated. I don’t use the app anymore but it could also be my iOS or my microphone but the app I use now fits perfectly.

Good but contains bugs

This is a good app to learn from as a beginner but the interface could have been built for easier transitions between screens and orientations. Also if you try the ‘repeat’ mode which is critical for learning, the app glitches heavily every time. It does not work. They have some bugs to work out. Lastly the pricing advertised is different in each screen. I hope my ‘lifelong use’ purchase doesn’t disappear next year!

Best tuning app so far

I’ve been trying to learn how to play the uke for a few months now and I always have trouble knowing what classifies as in tune and what doesn’t. This app makes it so easy to tune a uke and it’s very straight forward. Not only will it tell you if it’s out of tune, but it will tell you if it is too high or too low and by how much. I seriously recommend this app! ❤️

I always use this app for my ukulele and it’s really helpful, I always would play my ukulele and it would be not tuned and I never knew how to tune it so I looked up a ukulele tuning app and I found this, it told me how to tune it and everything! I love this app and I use it all the time it’s so helpful for me! And I definitely recommend this app! It’s a really good app!

So I got this as I hardly have time to stop somewhere to get a tuner. I have been working on my picking skills and when you’re picking instead of strumming, it is SUPER obvious when your uke is not in tune. This app does absolutely nothing to tune your uke. Ukuleles get out of tune often and very easily (like you have to tune it every two-three songs depending on your instrument.) But every time I try to pull out the tuner it says all of my strings are in tune. If you’re intending this app as a tuner, I would look for another one. There are other benefits to the app for beginners though, so I wouldn’t completely shirk it. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Great app, poor customer service

I downloaded this app over a year ago when I started the ukulele. I paid for the full version since at the time I didn’t know how to tune on my own. After I deleted the app I assumed that it would stop charging my card. However, even after removing the app, it continued charging me every week for over a year. After scouring the app and internet, I found no obvious way to cancel my payment. I contacted their services and still haven’t heard back. Extremely unprofessional and not user friendly.

For me it did not pick up my A chord

the app picked up all of my other chords flawlessly, granted my ukulele was really out of tune and im a beginner at tuning for this is my first time using it in a couple of months, the strings were practically brand new but as i got my other three chords perfect my A chord wasnt picking up for anything other than ‘too low’ on the tuning option, so i kept tightening it until eventually my string snapped, so now i have a tuned 3 string ukulele, i hope they fix this bug soon or perhaps my ukulele was too out of tune to fix.

The best app for ukulele.

This app is really good I just have one problem, I was thinking of buying premium but then I saw the price, ¡$6 PER WEEK! I think it’s kinda expensive, I personally would pay that per month but it’s around $24 monthly! Just that but anyways i’ll stay with the free tools. My recommendation is to make the price a bit lower, so more people will have the possibilities to pay it! 👋🏻😄

No longer works

I love the app, it’s amazing. But I don’t want to get the new one because it doesn't work at all for me (every time I open it it gets stuck on a screen that says “it’s tuning time!”) I like this version but I wish I was able to use it without having the “this version has stopped get the other one” screen

Left handed capabilities please?

This app is great for tuning and has a built in chord chart and I have no issues with either of these features. When using the app to tune or look up a chord, it’s great. I just wish there was accessibility for left handed players. Like a way to change the settings to left handed so I don’t have to figure out the chords and reverse them. It’s just make life easier.

No problems

It's simple and does what it says and tunes my uke well every time- I like that it uses your microphone to do that instead of some apps that play the sound and you have to match it to the sound which, takes much longer. This one you just pluck a string and it tells you if it's too high or too low etc. Cool app

Great app nice features but.....

The reason I am rating this app four stars is because you get a few things but then you have to buy the other things. All the rest of the game is great I just wish you didn’t have to pay for most of the app . I would definitely recommend this app if you don’t mind having to pay for a lot of stuff.👍🏻

Take this with a grain of salt

I never played the ukulele before but since I knew how to play the violin I thought the ukulele may be at least a little easy to learn. I didn’t know weather my violins tuner would work on the ukulele correctly so I used the app. Either my ukulele is SO out of tune that when I play a string the tuner says I’m playing a different one. Like if I’m playing A string it will say C string no matter how I tune it. Take this with a grain of salt Bc I don’t know what I doing really. It’s my first time an I may just be bad at it idk 😐.

Meh

Overall I kept this and that’s the best this gets. I couldn’t play any songs or anything like that because I needed premium. I understand they need money and all but I couldn’t even get “happy birthday.” I would just like to be able to play even just the beginner songs. What I did like though was that there is a metronome, tuner, and chord guide on the home page that I found helpful.

The Best so Far

I've used a few apps and websites for uku tuning, yet this one is the best I've come across. The interface is a bit unrefined, but this app functions accurately up to a quarter turn. I will consider the pro version if I ever need fancy tuning. PS Users who have rated this app three stars or below aren't using it correctly, from what I've read.

Good app

I love this app, tunes very well. Sometimes it thinks you are playing a c when you are trying to do the A & G strings, so you just to tune by ear, and then the app will finally get it right. If you are wanting to know what this app is about, don’t read the description. It is slightly unprofessional, and WAY too Long. But overall, it is a good app with other fun features, and I recommend it.

Love it, but the interface is a bit funky.

I love the app, it really helps me tune my Ukulele! My one and only complaint is the incompatibility with the iPhone XR. The main screen is fine, but when I use any of the other features the display shifts upwards and is cut off by the top of my screen. Again, I love the app, but sometimes it’s a bit hard to use with UI acting up.

Love it

I just about broke all of my ukulele strings trying to tune it from ear when my tuner wasn’t working. I downloaded this app like 3 minutes ago as a last resort and my ukulele is back to normal sounding great!!! 10/10 recommend have not have any problems with it in The last 3 minutes

Amazing but a lil Problem

This app is amazing in every way, it helped me tune my ukulele, practice chords, learn chords and much more. The only problem is that when trying to practice he beginner songs it thinks that my A string is my G string, my E string as my C string, My C string as my E string, and my G string as my A. When I press the listen button to the song the G string sounds like the A string. It may or may not just be a bug of some sort but I really was looking forward in practicing with the songs.

It worked at first then...

I downloaded the app about a year ago and then it started getting updates and it started glitching. I just dealt with the glitching until today and I deleted the app and then I just went and found a new one. What the glitches did was it wouldn’t let me even get on the app and it would just close the app out. It also would ask me for my iCloud password so I could buy things when I didn’t even touch the screen..

Chords snapped because of this.

At first, when I first tuned my ukulele, it was great. But then I deleted the app because I thought I wouldn’t need it again. Until I accidentally hit one of my ukulele’s strings, which somehow ended up in it loosening a LOT. So, I needed this app again. It was the A string, so when I started tuning it again, it kept saying it had to be higher/tighter. I tightened the string, and it snapped. Either the mic on my iPad didn’t work, or it’s the app being dumb. Really disappointed and frustrated.

You need to get this app if you are just starting out it’s amazing in every way. I just got it and wish I knew about it when I first started out. It’s so cool and it teaches you how to play notes helps you tune your Ukulele and it helps by giving you a metronome to help you with the beats.

pretty solid app. i think it’s really great, and i like that it’s a tuner and chords. it’s just every time you open the app it pulls up a page for their payed plan and it has a TINY X that’s really hard to push. Great app if your going to pay, but if your looking for a free app find another one. deleting it only 2 hours after I downloaded it
