Most functional of any non-gigantic bank
Umpqua has the most functional app of a bank that’s not a behemoth, and I appreciate that. It’s got some frustrating things that are likely policy related - such as having no way to update your address, which is standard with the bigger banks. My biggest complaint is that I can’t trust mobile deposit. I’ve had enough fail that now that I’ve moved to a place where the nearest branch is an hour plus drive away I try not to use it. Also, I’m now getting a notice when using this app that I would have a better experience if I used the Chrome browser. I know it’s become common for app developers to just wrap a web app inside an iPhone app, but seriously? Having a notice that your app would be better by using a non-Apple browser while using an Apple product is a bit unprofessional on the part of your developers. The least you could do is suppress it.

Down too often; too many glitches
I have had mobile banking apps before and loved them. At first, I thought this app functioned as well as the rest of them, but it doesn’t. It’s often down with no warning. It displays error messages with annoying frequency but not consistency. Sometimes, it simply tells me I have no accounts to show when I do. I would say this is just an app issue but the servers in the bank and ATMs are down almost as frequently. Which is a shame because the tellers are very friendly and as helpful as they can be with a sub adequate system. In past banking apps, the apps handled maintenance by having a scheduled day and time every week (the SAME day and time every week) to handle updates and fixes. They utilized their alert system and system messages to warn customers of the down times and apologize in advance for the delay. This made it easier as a customer to work around these down times and made mobile banking services run as though they valued the customers needs. I don’t see why this app team doesn’t implement the same courtesy. As it stands this app is clunky and unreliable, which prevents customers from having full faith in the security of their mobile banking experience. I gave two stars because I have to use it due to my work schedule but I don’t like to use it because of the way it runs.

Love it—when it works
I regularly have issues with the mobile deposit feature. It refuses to accept an image of checks that aren’t standard “personal account” size. No matter how good the image is, I am told it can’t read the account number. Customer service made it about me… it was too dark and I needed to put more light on the check; there were too many other apps still open in the background; I wasn’t holding still enough. I assure you that none of that was the issue, and since this happens every once in a while, I believe it is a malfunction in the app. Maybe they need to update it? It is SO annoying. I may switch banks because if it. I don’t have hours to spend trying to get a “more perfect” image of a perfectly good image. It doesn’t help that they keep closing branches that are convenient for me. The only one left in my area is dark and depressing, has bad parking and access is difficult. The ATM is unsafe—out of view in an area with lots of homeless around. So I pay fees to another bank—and Umpqua—for using a better, safer ATM. I used to love my bank, but this app’s regular problems with mobile deposits puts it to the top of my tolerance limit.

Often doesn’t work and now has ads?
I am changing banks because of this app. In the last three years I’ve had to go into a branch on at least 40 different occasions showing them in didn’t work, having to uninstall and reinstall or have someone on the other end fix something, and sometimes it just didn’t work for weeks and I had money overdraw because I couldn’t see my finances. When I opened my business account there was a completely separate app so I had to use two apps or do all my banking on the business app which makes the personal app look amazing by comparison. Every transaction is listed as only one of four things, where every purchase just says “atm withdraw” which it was not and tells me nothing about what what I purchased or who I paid for it, so impossible to check if a payment was processed on a specific item or tru to remember what I spent money on. Umpqua is a great bank and I wish I could do all my banking in person, but since they now close at 5 instead of 6 (and the branch closest to me isn’t open even on SATURDAYS) I’m not sure how I’m expected to go in without taking time off work to go to the bank...which obviously has been a huge problem when the app is so infrequently not working or not helpful.

External accounts
A few days ago I called customer service and after talking to five agents I was told I could add on an external account in my business account. They told me if I wanted to add external account in my services tab, it should be on my personal account, however they will unlink my personal and my business account and I couldn’t make any transfers between them. Oh God!! I waist one hour to receive at the end that answer? The customer service department doesn’t have any clue of nothing, they are trained to answer five questions and the six answer you are sent to another department. I am really disappointed about customer service, they Do not care about the client I had five charges on my business account from google accounts payments that I did not recognize, they charges were made in Los Angeles, CA, I don’t live in LA, I have had my personal and business account for more than ten years with Umpqua bank; customer services notified me that I had to wait 15 day to do the investigation and probably to return my money to my account…., I told them that other banks cover those charges before finishing with the investigation, why do I have to cover a mistake from the bank with my own money? It is not supposed the bank has locks to prevent fraudulent charges. I was seriously thinking to transfer my money to another bank.

Best bank ever.
I belong to the Bank in Phoenix in Oregon. Before it burnt down along with my home, I was very happy with that service. I God absolutely fell in love with the people that work there and how helpful and happy they were all the time. Now that the new bank is up and running, one of my girls is still there, but the other one of my favorites is in Central point Oregon. Which because they’re just so great, I visit both of them. Your app is so far very easy to use, and trust me when it comes to computers I am very challenged…. Anyways, I will always be a part of this bank. As long as it remains. I’m qua bank I like the smaller personal service. It just reminds me how things should be. Thank you for a Patricia Molina. Again, I am very computer challenged. I am trying to give you a five star rating but it won’t let me click on it just so you know I’d give you a 10 if I could

Great app, missing a few things
I love this app! It is helpful when I want to quickly check my bank account or need to pay for a bill or would like to deposit a check. I do wish it had an overall summary of my accounts on a home page exactly like the internet version. Online it shows a pie chart summary of my accounts and gives a total of what I have. Then I can click into my different accounts to see details. This would be nice on the phone app. Also, I can’t find my account numbers for my checking and savings. I’m not sure why it’s not part of online banking. It’s me who’s logged in and nobody else, so not sure why it doesn’t show me my own information such as my account number.

Posting
Overall the app does what it is designed to do, however I do find that purchases and bills take a VERY long time to post. For instance, I set up automatic bill pay for my car payment, and I received an email stating that the payment had been successfully sent... no payment had posted in my account. A few days later I received a receipt in the mail from my lending company confirming that the payment had been received... still no posting on my account. I am not 100% sure how long it took for the payment to post after the mail delivery, but I do know it was 1-2 days at the earliest. That is just one example of that happening, and it is extremely frustrating. I recently joined Umpqua from another bank, and the other bank was able to post payments immediately. This made it easier to track money going in and coming out of account, especially when you have a joint account.

Having an app
But we really need a 24 hour customer service that can help and more banks and banks in more locations they’re all closing down and we need customer service they can service us when we need our money right then not only if someone is trying to get in our account and just closing hours out. Customers after hours everything shuts down like the same time the bank closes in your without any help whatsoever so if emergencies come up you’re finish that’s the only bad thing but that’s a major thing. People are very friendly when you can find a branch that is actually open you don’t even have access to ATM machines everywhere wow what’s happening maybe it’s time to move on.

It really is the world’s greatest bank, They treat you with respect and dignity, if they aren’t able to loan are refinance whatever your trying to do, they don’t just say that and send you away, they try and give you advice on how to go about getting your credit score up, or which agencies can help in consolidation your outstanding debt to help with your credit, or if they can help you, they make sure you understand the terms and conditions that’s right for you. They always stay connected with you if there doing maintenance to the computer they let you know ahead of time. And you can text or call and they can handle some things that’s simple right over the phone. I like it 👍😉🤗

Umpqua mobile banking app
Eventually figured it out, I think. Conversion from CB was awkward. Auto pays on CB were all deleted and I had to enter manually. Also I had multiple checking accounts with different names which Umpqua changed all to one name of their choosing. Umpqua was slow to recognize my email identity because those who do this don’t work weekends, apparently. I live west cost and went to local branch when I couldn’t get my email confirmed. It was after east cost business hours so I returned Saturday morning. Still no joy; Returned Monday and after an hour and 3 calls by branch staff, apparently to a bank servicing company, finally got my email identity recognized. Hats off to (former) CB staff who kept working for me until the bugs for me created by this buyout were ironed out. Finally, the key strokes for accessing this app on my I-14 are not intuitive, in my opinion, but I’m getting by.

Great App
I am not sure what people are talking about this app not being good or up to date but I use this app for everything when paying my bills and transfers are live with me 5 to 6 times a month as that is how I pay my bills. I get paid then transfer funds to savings and when I need to pay I put back what I need to cover and I have never had a problem. I will say this being down right now is not cool but you do have to shut site down to do an update with banking security laws. Anyway I love my App and hope it does not change to much. This App has never failed me to date. Almost always open, and working for what we need Thank you for getting it done, and always improving on our banking online needs

Frustrating
The app is usually the only way I have to access my money because I have little time to go into the bank. When I first started with umpqua the app was simple but very functional. Now the app seems to always be running updates and sometimes won’t even open. I’ve had issues with it not being compatible with my iPhone because of cookies or some such thing, I’ve had times when the app says the server is down, I’ve had times when I transfer money and it was delayed for downloading by the system, these problems come up on a weekly basis. Overall it’s been a very frustrating app for something very important and used every day. It’s very unfortunate because I enjoy my bank and the employees but it makes me feel like Umpqua may not know what they are doing when the app doesn’t work, and honestly has not worked properly in years, and that makes me nervous about what else they may be mishandling.

App is always easy to use and staff is awesome.
App is fast and accurate. When it comes to fraud prevention, Umpqua Bank is the best I’ve ever seen. The downtown Klamath Falls location has a manager that I first worked with when she first started as a teller. She has always been incredibly helpful and has an awesome mix of intelligence and common sense that isn’t always found these days. Her staff seems to have that same mix of attributes and they always have a smile and good sense of humor to go along with their friendly personalities. The other K-Falls branch has that same mix with their staff also and that’s probably why I enjoy going into either location.

Never works and if it does it gives you an inaccurate balance!!!!
There are constant issues with this app. Rarely can I even log in. Takes usually five times to actually log in. Too many glitches. CONSTANT PROBLEMS. Always tells you your balance is incorrect and it’s updating. Great if you want to freak out that all your money is gone...gives me a screen telling me i have no accounts with them...absolutely awful. Every nite there is some update that makes you think you have no money. Umpqua is very inconvenient. Switching banks this week cus I’ve had it with these constant issues that are never, ever fixed. Update: App still needs major work. The available balance is never right, constant maintenance yet nothing gets better. When i try to do bill pay it just logs me out. Every single time I try. I can no longer use it and have to pay my bills through other means. Really frustrating.

Awesome!
This is a great bank, the account representative that opened my accounts couldn’t have been more helpful, he really explained all the different accounts available to me. I kept feeling like I was taking too much of his time, but he kept reassuring me that we had all the time we needed. He was also helpful in recommending different businesses in the area because I had just moved here. I love how easy it is to transfer funds, check my balances and contact him or whomever is available on their other website. My account was opened in McKinleyville, California, but everyone has been very kind at the other branches.

Simple, easy, effective app; sometimes down
Umpqua has been a really fantastic brick & mortar bank!! Truly. So I was pretty devastated when they closed up my local branch. But at least their app is also easy to use and handles most functions. I like doing mobile deposits & I really like that I’m able to do quick transfers right from the home balance screen. But I’m only giving 4/5 stars because it does sometimes freeze on me or can be down for maintenance (or something), rather frequently. Lastly, let me just say this directly to Umpqua Bank: I dearly miss the real (LIVE) faces of ACTUAL living, breathing people, who greeted me personally (and by name!) every time I came into my neighborhood Umpqua branch!! Please, stop closing your brick & mortar stores, Umpqua!! That was your charm to begin with!! In today’s age, it was a place one always found: Smiles, personal service, coffee, warmth, & even cookies on Friday’s when I came to do my banking... If it’s only ever going to be technological interfaces, I might as well also consider switching to a credit union?? Just sayin. Don’t forget what it is that gives value to your brand.

Adequate for basic mobile banking
Many items that are rather annoying: 1. The bank decided that they will not show when funds have arrived/ in a pending status, only when it has been deemed sitting in there long enough to finally be posted, apparently computers don’t move that fast in the world of finance. BTW it was able to show pending before they took over Columbia Bank. A few changes to the data programming and we have to guess if our money has been received. That’s not being good stewards of our money, that is controlling someone else’s funds. They certainly show when autopay or other billings are in a pending state. Hmm. Interesting. 2. Zelle has a limit of $300 to send money. Which makes it absolutely worthless. Safe and cautious are good. Worthless is, well, worthless. So, I am still forced to use paper checks. That’s… just… fine. I have heard many Columbia Bank customers have switch out to other banks. But quite frankly, there are far too many institutions that I would have to contact and set up with a new bank. It’s a seriously difficult endeavor. So, I am using other options with other banks, and Umpqua can sit with what is left of my funds.

greatest bank
when i first moved to oregon, over ten years ago, i joined this bank. having banked at all the big name institutions, and been severely underwhelmed by their practices. i was looking for community, customer service and professionalism. i found all of these at Umpqua Bank. Recently moving back to California, they helped me keep my accounts with them so i could maintain the solid relationship we’ve established in those ten years. as almost everything can be done online, i am happy with the mobile banking options and feel confident i’ll have everything i need to manage my money. umpqua bank really is great !!

Nice Full Featured Application
I like the ease of use and the total integration of my accounts and services with no apparent limitations. Often the mobile application is a watered down version of the access you have when using a typical computer however, this mobile application is not. It’s a great application and is consistent with my Umpqua banking experience. Update, now after using the app for nearly 6 months o continue to like the easy of use and the features within. Add to this the recent Go To app is very nice too. This app after a year and a half remains easy to use and has presented no issues.

Use it everyday
I have been using the app since I was told about it, seems like everyday I check my account to make sure I haven’t been charged for something I didn’t even order. If I saw a charge on my account, I would tell my bank, they would find out about it and fix the problem. Just like you getting a charge on your credit card accounts. This app is so much easier than to get up and go down to the bank, especially when your disabled. Yes, I know it’s not perfect, but are you. I’m not either, but I’m still trying to make it easier and better all the time.

Added features, an improvement.
I like the added features, like depositing checks via the camera on the phone. I'm not sure why other users cannot find the deposit feature. It's under a standard user interface menu icon top left. The downside is the narrow navigation on the left, just like the new desktop website. Seems cramped. The other item is a bug that should have not made it past beta release. Swipe left and you get a blank white screen. Not that there is any reason to do this other than another user mentioned it. Overall a big improvement over the previous version.

Very problematic app
I have had significant issues with this app. I made a recurring automatic transfer between checking and savings. When it started to do it too often and cause an overdraft fee Umpqua admitted it was their fault and reversed fees. Then I deleted the automatic transfer. But it kept doing it. Umpqua again admitted to their mistake but this shouldn’t happen. Now I manually transferred a few hundred dollars between Umpqua checking and savings and instead of showing the change in balance it just reduced checking balance by the transferred amount but did not credit savings. No transaction shows up in either account. Just in the “transfers” section of the app. I’d like to contact Umpqua but there’s no means to communicate in the app. I’ll have to call them to sort this out…

Why So Much Buffering and Work On App
Please do not misunderstand this critique. However, about two months ago I contacted Umpqua tech with the proble with my app. I will go to touch face id and the app twirls and twirls. After an extended discussion it was suggested I go into the local bank and have them take a look at it. I did. The bank employee had no idea why I was sent into see them. So, it still buffers unless I delete it and then install again, including the face id. I have to believe I am not the only bank customer that endures this inconvenience, where it appears there is no solution. Tech? I have gien up on Umpquah face id. Too much buffering to me an unknown reason. When I contacted tech they sugested I go into a local branch. I went into Coos Bay branch. They had no clue on help. Thus I started ever since just doing a regular login. Guess what. Though it is my fault. I tried to login. It asked me for my user name. My fault, as I said. I had forgotten ny user name. For all this time I had gone without it asking me user name. Silly. However, when I got home I found the user name in my password book. I will stick with this method rather than go to convenient face id. Thanks, Umpqua for asking what I think. Is anyone reading this?

The App - Umpqua Bank app is decent. It gets the job done and shows me everything I need to know. Depositing checks through the app is hit and miss. Some checks clear without a problem while others give you a headache. The Bank - I know this is an app review but the Umpqua Bank has been nothing but stellar! Other then one customer service experience (which was resolved to my satisfaction) all of my interaction have been positive. If anyone from the bank can pass this on.. UPDATE YOUR ATMs!! Please.. at least the ones in North Idaho are straight out of the 90s or something. Really bad and on more then one occasion they have eaten checks/ not returned cards/ and would just straight up freeze. I’d forgotten computers used to freeze up until your ATM reminded me

Needs improvement and bug fixes
I’ve used other banking apps and Umpqua’s needs improvement. The full bill pay should be integrated into the app so you can check information on payees. For example, if you have multiple credit cards or multiple accounts with the same bank or multiple accounts with the health care provider, with the app, its tough to determine which account you are paying. Also the app suffers from delays and periods when transactions don’t seem to go through. This happened to me for the last 5 days or so. I can’t pay bills using the app!! This never happened with Chase, for example. In addition, some transactions are not immediately recorded — even if there is a delay in the transaction being finalized, there should be an immediate record on the app, so you don’t do the same transaction twice.

Not a happy customer
While this app works great I have asked a couple of times some questions on something that happened last pay period and got blown off. For that I’ve set up a new account at another bank and will be moving to them after my next pay period. Question. I get paid every other Thursday that is my pay day. The money goes in and it’s always ready that day. This last time you decided to hold onto it until after midnight. Why? This has never happened nor should it. My money should be available once it’s received. That is my pay day and that is when it should be ready not the next day after payday. So sad for this but I really believe that someone has done something to my account and no one wants to confess. Have a great day. I know I will once I have everything moved and shut down. Kim Gaines

Excellent Service in All Areas
Umpqua has given us wonderful service since we’ve been with them over the last 7 years. In addition, I’ve appreciated their website/online access and communication there as well. At one point they had their credit card access on a different site which was frustrating, but as they we able, they brought that also on to their main platform. Thus all your transactions can be made at one site with one log-in. To date, haven’t had any issues online or face to face.

I started with Columbia bank I’ll say this I liked my pending posts including my pending pay pay check and now that it’s Umpqua I don’t get those and I cannot even check my account untill 3am I work grave I do all my stuff or I should say I did all my stuff between 12 am and 3 it’s very frustrating and inconvenient. If I did not have so much attached to this account I’d dump you and find a new account seriously every night so frustrating over such a little thing other than that your still not as good as Columbia, oh also you attached my credit card to my account that was convenient and very disturbing cause those both had different passwords and user names I’d say that’s a violation of my privacy but very convenient thanks kinda

I’m tired of this
The last two updates have really messed the app up. I’ll sign in and go to to transfer money and the app will “time out” and sign me out even though I was only logged in for 30 seconds. Unless I close the app entirely and then re-open it to sign back in, it will say my accounts are unavailable. It’s a lot of rigmarole (sign in, suddenly get force-logged out, sign back in, accounts unavailable, force-close app, re-open app, log in, transfer funds, transfer goes through, app immediately force-logs me out again, etc...) and very frustrating as I’m entirely unable to predict if it’s going to work for me or not. I keep checking for an update thinking this is a glitch everyone is having. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I don’t have a computer so the app is the best way for me to do banking and it would be great if this could be fixed.

Problems
I keep having issues with having yo reset up my face recognition. Also in making transfers to an external account the drop down menu doesn’t let me set a default and unless I am paying very close attention, funds are transferred from the wrong account. And now my external account which I have used a more than two years was dropped from my account. It’s gone! And no one seems to be able to explain this to me. I now need to go through the whole verification process again. I checked with the bank I had as an external account and they still have Umpqua listed so it wasn’t an error on their side. Clearly Umpqua’s error.

Fails 50% of the time
When I open up this app it routinely fails. And fails in a number of different ways. Sometimes it’s just a blank white screen. Often it forgets Face ID. Sometimes it gives me a false error message that I can’t make a deposit, but I can usually get around that by restarting my iPhone. Sometimes it tries to open, but the little wheel just keeps spinning and it never gets there. The bank’s recommendation is delete the app and reinstall it. That works but, come on. Actually, if you have nothing better to do, restarting it always works. I have complained about it a number of times. I do all my banking online, so this is app is bad news. They asked me to review it yet again. Still terrible.

Umpqua has online and mobile banking issues. Capturing check images has problems requiring several attempts at taking the photo. Then when the image is accepted their is a message that comes up something about an RTC and then u have to keep pressing submit until it takes the deposit. Online banking requires two separate accounts (one business and one personal) because the payee information is in the personal account and not in the business account. Then when u call for assistance there is no indication in the greeting about which account the caller needs help with, ie business or personal. After waiting on hold for 20 minutes I’m told I need to be transferred to the business Dept. (Sigh). I’ve been struggling with Umpqua’s issues for many years. It’s gotten increasingly worse with locking us out.

Best There Is
I love Umpqua Bank. They have always been above average for any reason for that I have required. Very nice and helpful staff. Reclaiming money that a vendor may have tried to over hare me? This is why I believe that Umpqua Bank is the true one, that makes every effort for its customers at any given time. I have been working with them for nearly 7 years this year! 😍 I have no complaints of any kind. I suggest you give them a chance to do all the Great things that they have done for me! I like your online app. It is easy to use and I like that. To make mobile deposits is special for me as my local branch moved away and takes awhile to drive there. With mobile deposit , sign the check , take a picture , and deposited :) I was heart felt when I read your Corva -19 statement weeks ago about your sincere desire to assist me to stay a float with the little money I have , to stretch it and make it last . You are an awesome bank, and the people are above the average . Thank you for being part of my Family.

Umpqua bank on line review
Works as you would expect a mobile bank on line app to work. I’m giving it 3 stars for these reasons: • I have NEVER been able to smoothly deposit a check. It ALWAYS tells me I have to retake photos. Sometimes I can simply resend and it accepts the photos. • If I deposit a check after 4pm, it won’t appear in my account until later the next day; sometimes not for 24 hours. I would expect it to be available shortly after 9am. • If I deposit a check after 4pm on a Friday, it isn’t available until mid-day on Monday! • Frequently can’t see account balances during the evening/ night; there was no notice that the app was down or accounts unavailable.

Check deposits work about 50% of time
The app is fine for looking at my account info. But almost every time I want to deposit a check, the app logs me out while I’m trying to hit the deposit check button (or whatever the button is called). It just did it to me, then asked for an app review. Also when typing the amount of the check, my keyboard blocks the amount field in the app. I don’t know what I’ve typed until I finish, click back to the deposit check screen & then review the dollar amount. I forget if I need cents so I end up having to enter numbers into the dollar amount at least twice.

Umpqua Fails!
The Umpqua mobile app has been out long enough the IT guys should have all the problems worked out ... I get multiple messages that the bank is doing a weekend maintenance and I cannot access my accounts during the update ... The Touch ID is a failure makes me try to log in over and over finally logs in but fails to load my accounts ... Somebody in upper management needs to fire this techie group and get this app working ... My credit union is smaller than Umpqua and their app is sweet works every time ...

Rating Umpaqua App
In comparison to other bank apps is not very up to date . You make a on line deposit and does not even show deposit made at any time of day, in fact will not show anything for many days. Other apps at least acknowledge the deposit any may show some funds available,then usually with show full deposit by the next day. Umpaqua seems behind the time in this regard. ( # 2 SECOND RATING )Had problem today, checked app after several deposits and only 2 of 3 showed , so I redeposited then later show rejection of one of redeposits very strange . I have never had anything like this before.

App good. Love being able to do banking anywhere The Mobil deposit photo takes about average of three shots to get the deposit accepted. My other bank mobile deposit does not seem to have this problem so I don’t think it’s me or my phone that is the problem. FYI And o like Umpqua bank very much. I like you support of local businesses and the nice people you have working there and the coffee with a place to sit down and get some work done Thank you for thinking outside the nine dots !

Sooo frustrating!
My biggest issue is not being able to see enough information and not in real time. BILL PAY - only shows items scheduled to be paid in the next 30 days, so you can’t easily plan payments beyond that. I can’t tell you how many times I have accidentally made multiple payments on a bill because of this. - displays all cancelled payments. Why?? I canceled them... usually because I couldn’t see future payments I had scheduled. - we have a joint checking acct, yet my fiancé can’t see payments I have scheduled, and vice versa. How is this “joint”?? - if you make a one-time payment it doesn’t display immediately in the account. This opens a big window for mistakes. CHECKING ACCT - pending deposits do not display. I realize $ is not always immediately available, but can’t you at least show it’s expected to be? This too opens a big window for error, especially with a joint acct. PLEASE update this product. My fiancé insists he wants to keep banking here because there are local offices. I have yet to convince him we can do 98% of our banking online. (I mean, we can with other banks) :(

Umpqua App
I love being able to mobile bank. Being a Man of a certain age, I thought it would be to difficult to use or understand. I was completely wrong. The nice young man at my branch Downtown Vancouver was Extremely helpful, he took the time to go over every detail and was with me to complete a couple transactions to make sure I was comfortable using my app. I like knowing that I am Banking local with people who are also local. And feel very secure using online services. Thank you so much.

We’ve been customers from the days of South Umpqua Bank. At that time we lived in the Roseburg area and wanted to support a local bank. So it was logical to choose the bank Ray Davis was leading. Now living in Central Oregon it is important we can maintain the connection in retirement. We have been very gratified to see the growth of the bank coupled with expanded customer services. We particularly appreciate the lengths the company goes in protecting our accounts and credit/debit cards from fraud. Keep up the excellent service to remain the “Greatest Bank in the World.”

Excellent banking app!
I’ve been using this app for a couple years and it’s very handy! I love having instant access to my account balance and being able to transfer funds with ease. Over the two years I have had very few issues, if I ever need telephone assistance (I forgot my login once) the employees from Umpqua are very helpful both in person (at the bank) and also over the phone! The updates have all been great and I haven’t had any trouble using the app. Umpqua is a good company all around. I recommend them to anyone. Five stars!

Most the time
The app works most the time. I am disappointed that on my new I-phone I have to enter my user name and password every time. I have even checked the remember me box several times. Also it would be better if you had a direct link to the Umpqua credit card right here with the other accounts. ( like checking and savings). Making the credit card easier to pay would make my life much easier and better. Thank you Ryan Ruble

The opposite of improvement
Well now that you guys added that huge header I cannot immediately see my account’s balance, it takes longer to load and when I want to scroll down looking for an specific transaction it goes pretty slow. I really don’t see the point of having that picture of a child as a header, not even the point of the header at all. I’m using an old iPhone that’s also the problem, it’s an iPhone. Also nowadays Zelle transactions are taking too long. Like several days, if I had known I had to wait so long I would have driven to the ATM and get the cash there. Senseless, specially when I’m sending it to my husband.

I love it!
There are several reasons I like the app so much. I travel quite frequently throughout the US, Europe, and Asia. Sometimes I don’t get to come home from one place to another. The app allows me to enter where my destination(s) is/are and never had an issue. With several different sources of income, I can easily track the funds coming and going without any issues. It’s safe so I know I’m secure. The only issue I have is that I cannot use it in Ukraine, which I do visit often.

Good app but never got the smartphone check deposit to work
I wasn’t very happy when Umpqua took over my local Sterling Bank as most all Sterling employees, including my private banker left after the acquisition. I enjoyed going into Sterling because everyone was fairly delightful and happy. After Umpqua acquired Sterling there were some huge growing pains, but I know again enjoy visiting my friends at the bank. I can’t speak for all Branches, but the group at 1000 Bellevue Way NE, Bellevue Washington are all lovely. Online banking works great! The best of all the banks I use.

The Worst Bank in the World
I’ve had several banks over the years and this one is by far the worst. Customer service, app features, everything. I once got locked out of my online bank and the online support told me to go into the bank and the bank told me to go online and my paycheck was held and unusable for a week. Another time they shut off my card because of a “possible threat” without notice so I found out at the store in line buying my groceries. I was unable to buy groceries and had to wait several days to receive the new card. I use square and Umpqua does not support instant transfer which is really inconvenient for my business as well. I don’t recommend this bank.

Way too unreliable
When Umpqua’s app is functioning, it’s perfectly adequate. But the frequent, unannounced maintenance outages and broken features have become so frustrating that I’m contemplating switching banks entirely. Mobile deposit is the straw that broke the camel’s back for me—for over a week now I’ve been getting an error screen saying it’s unavailable, with explanation or ETA for its return. In 2021, it’s just not acceptable for a bank not to offer mobile deposit, and it’s never been okay to be so uncommunicative about the status of a major feature outage. Unless depositing checks in person is convenient for you, I’d be wary about becoming an Umpqua customer.
