I was excited when our club announced improvements were finally coming to the app. For many months I’ve had to manually reselect my location, scroll through all the childcare reservation options for any given day, ensure I reserve for the correct age group because they are all lumped together, and ensure I check the correct child for the correct age group because there is no filter to show which classes apply to which child. Sometimes it shows an option to register when a class is full to go to the waitlist, and sometimes it just shows the registration is closed. It has been taking me about 20+ minutes to reserve all of my family’s classes each week. Since the big app update, I’ve had to reach out to multiple club and concierge staff for help because the app won’t log me in with either correct credentials or through the create new password options—the only two options available on the app. The staff is just as frustrated as I am. They really want to help me, but nothing is working. I’ve had to start having them manually check me in and manually add my children to classes every day.
Ugh, y’all it’s ridiculous. All I want to do is book a service. PLEASE TAKE MY MONEY AND GIVE ME A MASSAGE! But no. App gets stuck on “finding my account and profile”, then all words disappear, and all that remains is completely blank screen. I’ve gone back to Home and started the process again no less than 10 times. Very frustrating. I don’t mind calling in a booking. It’s not a huge inconvenience to swing by the front desk when I head in today. Just asking: can booking via the app be a viable option at some point in the future?
I really love VillaSport but hate the app. It’s difficult to navigate, the calendar days are so annoying. There are no events ever listed. Sports are not updated. Parent night out themes are not updated. It would be nice to reserve spots to that on the app as well. I wish I could order food from the app and have it ready for pick up. No spa information. Would like to book appointments through the app and see what/who is available. I don’t like personal trainers but that would be a useful feature also. Basically this app is useless other than scanning in to the gym so I really wish there was another way so I could delete this app altogether. It could be an awesome tool but for whatever reason developer chose to just be boring and incomplete with what they did put up.
Has been improved, does what I need, but still missing a few conveniences
It’s easy to register for classes, and I’m glad they aren’t booking classes out weeks or months. If you’re a regular attendee I can see the convenience aspect, however there’s a big potential problem when ppl to fill up the calendars then cancel close to or on the day. This means others looking to take classes will be discouraged and then they’re the ones checking daily to find something open. My request would be to add and clarify pool schedules, especially therapy pool hours and availability.
When trying to register for kids care, it shows all slots for all ages. My child is 1.5 years old, so why is it showing the 6-11 months options? Also when a slot is FULL (written in small text) there is still a big green register link. By default the list should be narrowed to only my child's age group and only available time slots, with a "show all" option.
This is by far one of the worst apps that I’ve used. There is so much potential to make this app great but nothing has changed. Members need to be able to select week by week and day by day it’s crazy that you have to go day by day! You should be able to send your schedule to your calendar. It can be difficult to find classes. I have unregistered for classes and the next day, I am still registered. There is different information on the website that should be available on the app. If you’re going to create an app, make it easy with functionality instead of just enough to squeak by!!
This is still 2 days before the date when reservations are active. App works for checking in, reservations can be made up to one week out, easy access to personal schedule, and sends notifications when favorite group classes are open for registration. I hope more is added to the app. It’s not showing my checking yet, but I assume that’s because it’s not at the official date yet. So far so good.
This app is archaic, as is all of VillaSports’ IT content. The app fails to link to the correct club, links to wrong pages, and is generally unworkable and the antithesis of user-friendly. As my wife said, “it’s like they used the free version of Windows97 then refused to pay for any of the features after setting it up initially.” I wish I could say the staff at the club is more knowledgeable or helpful, but the common refrain we get is “oh, the person that can help you just left!” We’re canceling our membership and will join another club soon.
Developers: Do you see how low this app is rated?? Do you not care about the issues that users are experiencing with the app? Or do you just not care? My main issue is that I literally can’t scroll on any of the pages within the app. It just bounces back and won’t scroll. Also, certain buttons just don’t work, like anything on the Spa page. Fix it please.
I have been trying to log in for the first time since joining the club two weeks ago. I get an error that say “oops wrong user name or password.” Even though it works fine for the browser log in. The club has been trying to help as well but they can’t seem to figure it out either. So every time I visit they have to vouch for me since I can’t show my credentials via the app. I can’t register for classes yet either. What a joke, makes me want to cancel my brand new membership already.
I cancelled my membership due to this app and the Villa staff not caring to resolve the issue. When app updated, I was knocked off so could not register for classes, check in, etc. I suggested deleting me from system and reinstating with a new user name but was told I’d have to pay enrollment fees - I’ve paid $150 month for six years so really??????? When I cancelled, the staff was just “Oh, sorry” - no attempt to resolve issue. Fitness Project will be getting my $$$ until Lifetime Fitness opens. Such a shame - the Villa instructors are fabulous!
This app almost always needs to be reset or deleted and reinstalled to work. When I’m trying to sign up for something or remove my registration for a class it’s always “spinning” and honestly it’s a waste of time. The club needs to change the app completely if you want to stop wasting people’s time and money on something that doesn’t work. It’s beyond frustrating and not user friendly. Please allow more time without penalty to reschedule or cancel.
It works but it needs an upgrade. I’ve been to other gyms that cost half the price and their apps are awesome. Young people care for things like the app to stay motivated
Newest update: there’s areas where it can show you have a reservation and then where you don’t have a reservation. It messes everything up and I end up with not a reserved spot because of it. Not my fault. I register as soon as the spots open up. Then when I go to drop my kids off it’s all messed up. Update from last time: They have fixed some of the issues we were having before. We haven’t had any new problems pop up and it’s quick and easy to reserve spots.
I can’t unregister from classes using the app, I can’t get ahold of a person at the desk at my local VillaSport to cancel, and I can’t get ahold of anyone using the VillaSport main line. I really, really am trying to be patient but today I had to go to the front desk in person when I had no time to spare in order to cancel my classes, to avoid their charges on my account because their app doesn’t work and I can’t reach a person.
It works decently enough. One thing that would hugely improve it is allowing us to skip right to the next week so we can sign up for the next week’s class right when it’s available. I hope to see improvements, but it’s still a fairly new app and I think it’s a good start
I moved from LifeTime Fitness to VillaSports and I was expecting the same organization and ease to use the app. It’s very convoluted, makes it difficult to see what group classes you’ve registered for, provides no reminders which would be useful because there is no consistency in the times the classes are given. Please improve the app especially since we use it for everything.
This app takes a long time to confirm childcare spots, and hardly works after I pick a spot for one child (I have three). I have unregistered for classes more than 24 hours in advance and villa still sends emails saying that I’ll be charged for not un registering. You can’t make childcare reservations same day, either. But, this is the only way to get spots for anything in the gym
Using the app to add exercise classes is so easy! I appreciate the different visuals for class types. I can simply go to a day of the week and add classes within “my timeline” or browse a list of offered classes through “group exercise.”
This app is amazing! So thankful we can now register on here and it provides live time registration and you can still register if the class is full and it automatically puts you on the waitlist and notifies you if you get in!
Villa Sport is a gym that has fantastic facilities, but is unfortunately organized very poorly. This app was supposed to be a way of improving that, yet it has absolutely no information. We are being pushed to use it to reserve spots in exercise classes, but can’t. Like most things Villa all glitz with no substance. Such a waste...such an expensive waste. Don’t download this app. Better yet go to another gym. I certainly will be soon.
This is honestly one of the worst and most frustrating apps I have ever used. In addition to being hard to use, it’s slower than molasses in January. I could be paying $25 a month to go to Planet Fitness and their App actually works, and even tells you how crowded they are so you can plan your visits. I’m still trying to figure out how I can use this garbage app.
Most of the time it does not work! Incredibly glitchy. Most of the time classes are not updated correctly, cannot sign up for classes or you can’t even see group classes. It randomly signs up the whole family linked to the account to a class rather than just the person you selected to sign up. Very very frustrating app
For next update please allow it to default to our home gym. It defaults to Beaverton and I almost signed up for a class there. It does back to Beaverton EVERYTIME I go back into Group Exercise. Other than that, class sign up works smoothly.
What a poor business decision to not focus on technology resources. Really a huge missed opportunity to elevate service and amenities for club members. Would be great to use the app for more than checking in. It’s 2023 and app developers are a plenty. There’s really no excuse for VillaSport not to invest in its technology. The website is also incredibly slow.
Where do I begin. 1. After the latest update - the app refuses to log me back in. 2. Now I can’t sign up my kids for villakids because the app does not work. 3. Very limited options. (Can’t even pay through app, can’t sign up for services). 4. Overall app is terrible!
Used to work sometimes but I haven’t t been able to check in for classes for months. There is no help available, no app updates and the club requires you use this for class registration and check in even though it doesn’t work. Probably need to find a new club.
Is this real? So poorly designed. So buggy. This was probably architected by the same person or committee which did VillaSport's website. How about some usability testing? And obviously no QA. So sad. But not surprising. If they at least looked at some similar products available on the market. Even LA|Fitness has a better app than this.
This app was created during Covid, so I was patient at first. It is either poorly designed or poorly operated. It is slow and always is having issues. I can often not actually register or unregistered my children.
This app doesn’t work at all. Unable to book any pool time, villa kids, etc... not to mention my wife can’t log in with the exact information I have. Spend more time working out the bugs before you release an app. I’ll stick with online.
I’m trying to register family members for classes/Villa kids time which worked great at first. Now it’s not showing any of our names to select. So now we can’t sign up. Really frustrating.
Literally how hard is it to develop an app for scheduling classes. It’s terrible for changing or rescheduling classes and staff can’t help either because they say they don’t have access. Terrible terrible terrible customer service!!!!!
Signed up. Downloaded app. Will NOT work! It’s funny because I specifically asked the sales person about the low reviews with this app as I was enrolling. They said it was fine. It’s never worked yet!
I’m using the same username and password I use regularly on the website and it’s not letting me login. I guess I’ll stick with the website where I can’t cancel reservations until they work out all the kinks? UPDATE: now it lets me login with the correct credentials but the info from the website (classes I’m signed up for) are synced with the app.
Even after the updates this thing is still terrible. I’m not sure what the owners and devs think this app is for, but they constantly make it go in a direction that is not user friendly or in touch with what the average user would want a gym linked app for. Sure, the scan code comes up when you open it. Woo hoo. We have a baseline. But then from the landing screen you click on ‘club info’ and it will land you on a generic schedule page which does not update for holidays. So you can be sitting in the parking lot looking at a closed club while the app says it’s currently open. Even tho it was open on New Years, doesn’t mean we will have the same hours at Memorial Day! But don’t worry, they’ve provided a ‘holidays’ button on a completely different screen that you have to navigate to from screen links at the very bottom of the page. Since, you know, displaying an accurate calendar is pretty challenging in this day and age. So to recap, much like the management of the Beaverton club, this app is worthless. I’m not sure what they think this app is used for, but at a minimum it would be nice if the Home Screen accurately reflected whether the Home Club was open or not. I will be dropping this gym and this app ASAP after this latest fiasco.
The app doesn’t allow me to access with my correct credentials. Have reached out to IT (they went dark) reinstalled the app (no help) and reset username and password of course (nope). Not being able to sign up for classes is a big issue, considering switching to another gym.
