I’ve played this game for a while now. I like the fact that you can play against the computer, other players or even you friends. The problem is (like a lot of great games) is that there are far too many ads. In the beginning, there was only one ad per game. Now, there are up to 3 full length video ads. It’s very annoying and soon I’m going to look for another game to play. I would rather pay a premium price so I wouldn’t have to deal with the ads, but that option is not available.
Yes any free app needs to generate revenue, but this app goes too far when trying to multitask while in the game. For example on an iPhone, when I try to listen to my iTunes music or stream radio, you get out of the app temporarily to select your music preference and then return to your game, an ad will pop up and kill the sound on your music or stream. This happened 10 out of 10 times in my recent experience. It forces you to play the game in silence which kills the experience of enjoying your favorite music while doing so. Just a suggestion, but an ad before the game and after the game is enough....we don't need ads popping up and killing our music while playing in the game. Just a suggestion!
I really like you game and would have gave it a rating of 5 if it wasn’t for playing against the computer. I have played this before. Anyway where I see a bad problem is when your playing each player gets dealt a five card hand. Numerous occasions the computer has 2 sequences when it’s only had ten cards played and if it don’t Fido that than on every hand that is played the computer gets 2 wild cards at leastUsually he has any of his 45 wild cards in his hand as far as the other player he’s hardly ever get Jack’s but it’s guaranteed the computer has 4 or 5 wildcards. Anyway this it’s too long that’s why complaints have a good one.
I wasn’t familiar with the game Sequence, but someone told me it was their favorite so I looked for an app. This was the 3rd I tried and it is BY FAR the best. You can play against the computer or real people, you can adjust the particulars to make it harder/easier, and the ads are kept to a minimum and never interfere with the actual games. It’s really a wonderful way to pass a few moments here and there. Highly recommend.
I love sequence, and I can deal with the ads (they have to make their money somehow, ppl!). BUT the leaderboard doesn’t come up and sometimes the ads cut into your playtime, like for your turn, even if you hit the X as soon as it pops up. The competitive part of me really wants to see where I’m at in the leaderboard, I hit the button on the screen but it never pops up even if I restart the app, so that’s a disappointment, the game isn’t as fun if you don’t have any level-ups to strive for. And a bonus tip, guys: let people invite friends via Facebook or something! Sequence is such a Midwesterner game, we’d love to play with our friends and family like we can play hand and foot (canasta) with our ppl with other apps!
Sequence is one of my favorite board games so I love this app! However, the tiles that go on the board cover the entire number and suit making it difficult to see what the tile is covering. Another issue I have, is that whenever there are both cards taken on the board and I have that card, I should get an option to either keep that card or discard it and get another- just like the board game. I also wish I could play against my actual friends. Other than that, I really have been enjoying the game! I love that the app’s board set-up is the same as the Sequence board game!!
I absolutely love this game but the actual board game is way better. I’ve played this game a total of 10 times in a row just to count how many times the computer beat me and it was 7 out of 10! The computer literally always seems to have the exact cards it needs and all the jacks in the deck. It’s almost to the point that I can call the computer’s next move before it even makes it it’s getting THAT predictable. Also if I FINALLY get a card that will allow me to get 5 in a row it’s like the computer knows and suddenly has the same card and blocks me nearly every time! This game would be so much better if it were actually a fair play. I also don’t like that the board shuffles.
I really like this game! However, every so often, it just goes black. I’m playing on a brand new, latest version, iPad Air with a boatload of storage and I don’t have any problems with any other app so it’s def this game. It’s really frustrating; the only solution I have found is to power off the iPad and reboot, which is a pain. If you press on the App Support link next to the review link, it takes you to a Chinese website that is all done in Chinese characters; the only English letters spell Ping Pong. There is no help or support in the game, so I’m really frustrated! I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling but that didn’t help.
I loved this game because when I fly, I don’t need Wi-Fi to play this game! It’s much more difficult to play now because of all the ridiculous ads that pop up during and after game play. Once the ad is completed, the “X” should allow you to close the window, but NO, that’s way too easy. I actually have to CLOSE my game, then restart the game in its entirety. Ridiculous.
Wild jack is the same game as Sequence played online with one or two opponents. I wish the designer of the game board would make the cards on the board little larger than the playing cards so that the outer boarder will be clearly visible when selecting the cards to play. Or you could make the cards on the board make it slightly darker to make the selection easier. Thanks.
This game is like sequence except that the board constantly faces you. You can play against the computer, or against another player. You get your own private room when you are against another player. The only complaint I have about the game is the advertisements. That’s the reason I gave it a 4. But the game plays beautifully and I love playing it. Wouldn’t it be nice if somethings in our lives were without all the ads?
The 3-player setting is very misleading. I paid extra for this function thinking I could play against 2 friends online instead of just one. Wrong. Turns out the third “player” is the computer. Don’t be fooled as I was. I would ask for a refund but there are no more instructions for that than there about how to set up a 3-person game.
Love this but … you have an advertisement that won’t let you proceed until you interact with their game. SOLITAIRE TRI PEAKS. I don’t mind watching the advertisements but I draw the line at an ad forcing me to play their game or I cannot proceed. I refuse to be bullied and I don’t want to play the game. It’s stupid. So… I cannot proceed and will now have to delete the app.
I really want to play a FAIR version of this game when I am relaxing. This could have been it, BUT the bleeping game gives itself an unfair advantage. Why? So it can win every time? If I gave myself unlimited Jacks, I would win every time too! Oh, you don’t win every time? Bwhahahahahahaha! Then it seems to me that you should fix the game to be fair. Do not give the computer an advantage. Let the cards fall where they may, as they say. And while you are at it, please offer an ad-free version of the game, or at least make the ads silent when the game is muted. Thank you!
I usually love this game BUT the computer gives itself a HUGE advantage, with unlimited one-eyed and two-eyed Jacks, and I am forced to play defense, mostly along the perimeter of the game board. This is NOT fun! It is actually quite boring and frustrating! I have been a computer programmer and know that it is easy to program this game to be fair, using a standard 52-card deck of cards. I do NOT understand the need for cheating. The computer will not have hurt feelings if it loses! Fix this! Make the game 100% fair and unbiased again! Then it will be fun again, and I will give it the excellent rating the game normally would get from me. Thank you!
The game got to be SO much more enjoyable in that the computer wasn’t winning 8 out of 10 games. I had even changed my rating of the game but wanted to wait to make sure it wasn’t a fluke and it was going great for a bit but now it seems it has gone right back to the computer winning more games than not. I’ve always enjoyed the game of Sequence but it isn’t that great knowing that no matter how well I play the computer will always win most of the games.
I love this game. I have the board game at home. I have a suggestion that might help. When I am playing against the computer it changes my color from game to game. When I started a new game now I am now the opposite color. Please fix this issue so I can play easier.
If you play against the computer, the computer always has the jacks and the cards to block your runs. Always. You may win once or twice out of 10 games. When you play online vs another player you might have terrible cards where it’s not possible to make a run or you have tons of jacks in your hand throughout the game. I’ve played this game with the board game version and it’s rare that the game would be this much in favor of one player. They need to alter the way cards are handed out to make it more random.
Can you please make an ad free version? I would literally pay in a heartbeat. All I want to do is play this while I listen to podcasts on my phone but the ads pop up EVERY TIME YOU OPEN THE APP and stop the podcast, I go to unpause then come back to the game and a new ad immediately pops up and pauses my podcast again. I LOVE this game but if I can’t play podcasts or music at the same time it’s worthless to me, I have better things to do than sit and play a mindless game with nothing else going on.
The game is all right and the most accurate I’ve found. However the “rng” is awful. It’s obviously programmed to make it more likely the cp will have exactly the cards it needs. In about one of every 10 games, the cp will have exactly five cards for a sequence in the first five turns. I’ve never gotten that lucky. It’s incredibly easy for the cp to block you while still building sequences, while you struggle to build anything all over the board. Fix the rng to make it truly 100% random for all parties.
I totally understand ads are a given when using a free app, but am about to the point of deleting this game due to the types of ads that are now being included. I DO NOT want to see crap like Choices, about finding your husband and having the option of leaving or joining in!!! Stop the smut!!!
This is my favorite app. Although I wish you could play against people you know, this is an easy to use app and it's free. There are a lot of pop up ads but you can just tap the top right corner and they go away. I really enjoy playing the board game w my family and this app is as close as you can possibly get.
Love playing the board game Sequence with my friends & family. Wild Jacks allows you to play it from anywhere! My fiancé and I play weekly & just enjoy this game over the countless others that are on the App Store. You also can get better by playing the computer or online!
The game is great fun, but the same five ads over and over again is exhausting. To pay money to turn off the ads for a week or only a month is ridiculous. I buy board games one time… I don’t have to keep sending in money every week.
Computer gets all the best cards that will let it win almost within the first 4 moves all the time. Game has improved and it plays much more smoothly now; decided to revisit this after not playing for a long while and found the pleasantly improved graphics and smoother play. (Original review) Ads keep trying to pop up in a way that the graphics slow down to a point the game halts.
The pop up ads to buy other games are now making you go to the ap store and then back to the game. You can’t exit the ad after the “usual” 5 second wait.
Fun take on the classic board game Sequence. But the “Play Online” mode is fake. First I noticed that it worked on the subway when I had no signal, then I put it to the true test and tried playing it while in Airplane Mode. Lo and behold, it still “found a player” and played a full game, because there’s not actually a real person on the other end. “Play Online” and “Play Vs Computer” are the same thing.
I have played this game off and on for years. When my husband was stationed out of state we played together online. A few months ago they must have buffed the AI because I play a lot, and I almost never win anymore. The AI has all the cards to play against me almost every time. I get one jack a game, they seem to have the rest. They have perfect cards for each sequence. Only using jacks to block me. I noticed this in September/ October. I would suggest downloading a different wild jacks game. :(
Your game of Wild Jacks is okay, but with some changes would be great. I’ve been making this board game we call “Give Me Five” for many years and it is played basically the same as Wild Jacks except the layout of the board which is a mirror image on each side to the opposite side so it is so much easier to find the cards. I also use jokers (4) which can either put on or take off a token. If you are interested contact me.
Annoyed with the color change with a new hand 🙃 Understand if closing the App. It changes the color when the App stays open and a new game is started I get used to being red and then my brain has to switch to blue and back again Make it an option to choose the color please
Can’t listen to music and can’t play game without phone being on silence because the loud random ads scare my baby while trying to get her to sleep. Did use this while up at 3am with her to pass time but not worth it anymore after that
So tired of playing against a computer that gives itself the perfect cards and way too many Jacks! Sometimes it has every other card on the outside border of the game. Sometimes it has every outside border card, and it gives me none to counter. It even knows when I finally get a card I can use to score and blocks me the move before I get it. I have found Quency, which doesn’t cheat, and I will be playing that until this game is made fair.
This game has always been a favorite of mine, we have the board game version as well, only thing it’s called Sequence. 5is version is awesome and I find the computer player very good indeed. Keeps me on my toes when I play.
This game is fun, there are quirks or bugs that need to be corrected-like my score keeps resetting back to 100 without explanation, my points just vanishes at random times. I didn’t reach any point cap or limits and my points just gets reset it’s part of the frustration that if addressed would help toward improving this game, along with others suggestions.
We really enjoy this game and have played it a lot. Today my son joined us and he couldn’t tell the difference between the tiles because he’s color blind. Please create a setting option that allows the tile colors to be changed.
Really fun game. I would really really love to see this game allow us to play with people we know! I don’t see why we can’t do that? It would be so much fun! Only other complaint I have is the ads are a bit to much. Just cut it down a bit
The ads for this app are always either promiscuous, insulting to women’s appearance, or LOUD. Despite having my phone on silent and music/sounds disabled for the app, I constantly get one ad for a PayPal scam game. It makes a lotto winning type medley with loud music. Thanks for making the entire lobby think I’m gambling while waiting for a meeting. For those asking about a leaderboard and real stats-it’s all fake. You’re only ever playing a computer. There’s no leaderboard
Seems like the computer is usually at an advantage. Definitely not random. Also have had a card in my hand waiting to use it and then have had it disappear and replaced with a different random card. Also how many times do I have to see the same advertisement just trying to start the game? Honestly if there were an option to give zero stars that’d be more accurate. Time for an update with some improvements here!
This game is terrible. it’s very hard to see the board. the numbers are too close together and the board is too small. I miss CRAZY JACKS on Facebook. I guess the doesn’t exist anymore. So much better than this game.
Wish it let you play specific people, or groups of people. During Hurricane Irma we played this board game during the lack of electricity with out of town family. This was a hit.
really a cool app so far just waitin for them to start throwing adds on me. who knows maybe not. I like playing the computer more than on line cause it's faster. computer don't have to think so slow like a human (me)😂
Love this game and the app is great except that your chips cover the suits of the cards. Also, the “enable hint” feature which allows you to view where the tile is located has suddenly stopped working, but it still takes away points when you use it.
Love the game! Nice and simple lay out. The one draw back for me is the constant ads. I would gladly pay a few bucks for the game to do away with the ads. To add to my review ... how about being able to listen to music/podcast while playing the game??? That would be a great feature.
If you like the board game and you were looking to play this on your phone this is the best app… I’ve downloaded four different sequence apps and this one allows you to play with no hassle.
The owner of a restaurant I frequent told me about this game. I love the game and would have paid for it to not have the commercials. You literally get a commercial before each move you make to play the game....and when you finish one game and go to the next you have to go through another couple commercials. Sometimes I only play once because I can't take the commercials.
Love this app. My wife and I play together regularly. But it will not work on her phone just on cellular. Only works with WiFi, or when connected to my Verizon hotspot. Is there something up with T-Mobile and this game? Anything we can do to make it work?
The game itself its great and the gameplay also, but the app offers a fake online option, I have played online without being even connected to the internet, that is not to good because I actually thought I was playing with someone else, not just the computer, I hope you guys fix that.
I played this game months ago on a board game. It was nice but now that I can play it on my phone or tablet the experience is even better. I’m not an usual game player on line but this has me captivated
Game play is good but the logic is flawed. It gives more Jacks consistently to the weaker person (in terms of $ balance) . I have tested this atleast 50 times and every time the same result. Jack distribution logic should be conpletely random and not biased.
The game itself is pretty much just like the board game. Even our younger elementary age kids enjoy playing. I really with there was an option to pay to remove the pop up ads. There are several in between each round of play. It would also be nice to have the option to play against someone you know, like you can in words with friends or have a two player option.
The classic board game comes to your iPhone/iPad now! Known to others as "Sequence", "One Eyed Jack", "Jack Foolery", "Wild Jacks" or "Crazy Jacks". Try to make sequences of five with your cards. How to Play: - Game modes: 2 players (1v1) and 3 players (1v1v1). - Each player selects one from six cards in hands and places a chip on the matching card on the game board. - Two Eyed Jacks (Clubs/Diamonds) can be placed anywhere on the board - One Eyed Jacks (Spades/Hearts) can remove any of your opponent's chips unless that chip is already a part of a sequence. - The 4 corners are wild and belong to all players and can be used as a chip in a sequence. - The goal is to create a sequence of 5 chips either horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. One sequence is required for 2 players, while two sequences for 3 players. Features: - HD Graphics / sound effects - Smooth animation - Online mode / Practise mode - Automatically match opponents - 2 or 3 players supported - Hints You can play online with your friends now! 1. Click the "With Friends" button in the title screen to play in friend mode. 2. Input a room password and your name, and then click "Join Room". 3. Share the password to your friends. 4. Your friend enters the the same password to join in your room. 5. Start to play! Both modes of 2 players (1v1) and 3 players (1v1v1) are supported. Enjoy!
